We consider a stochastic model for the wealth of an insurance company which has the possibility to invest into a risky and a riskless asset under a constant mix strategy. The total claim amount is modeled by a compound Poisson process and the price of the risky asset follows a general exponential Lévy process. We investigate the resulting reserve process and the corresponding discounted net loss process. This opens up a way to measure the risk of a negative outcome of the reserve process in a stationary way. We provide an approximation of the optimal investment strategy which maximizes the expected wealth of the insurance company under a risk constraint on the Value-at-Risk. We consider an insurance risk model for the cashflow of an insurance company, which invests its reserve into a portfolio consisting of risky and riskless assets. The price of the risky asset is modeled by an exponential Lévy process. We derive the integrated risk process and the corresponding discounted net loss process. We calculate certain quantities as characteristic functions and moments. We also show under weak conditions stationarity of the discounted net loss process and derive the left and right tail behavior of the model. Our results show that the model carries a high risk, which may originate either from large insurance claims or from the risky investment.  相似文献

This paper provides new models for portfolio selection in which the returns on securities are considered fuzzy numbers rather than random variables. The investor's problem is to find the portfolio that minimizes the risk of achieving a return that is not less than the return of a riskless asset. The corresponding optimal portfolio is derived using semi-infinite programming in a soft framework. The return on each asset and their membership functions are described using historical data. The investment risk is approximated by mean intervals which evaluate the downside risk for a given fuzzy portfolio. This approach is illustrated with a numerical example.  相似文献

We consider a financial market consisting of a risky asset and a riskless one, with a constant or random investment horizon. The interest rate from the riskless asset is constant, but the relative return rate from the risky asset is stochastic with an unknown parameter in its distribution. Following the Bayesian approach, the optimal investment and consumption problem is formulated as a Markov decision process. We incorporate the concept of risk aversion into the model and characterize the optimal strategies for both the power and logarithmic utility functions with a constant relative risk aversion (CRRA). Numerical examples are provided that support the intuition that a higher proportion of investment should be allocated to the risky asset if the mean return rate on the risky asset is higher or the risky asset return rate is less volatile. In the whole paper, the claim process is assumed to follow a Brownian motion with drift and the insurer is allowed to invest in a risk-free asset and a risky asset. In addition, the insurer can purchase the proportional reinsurance to reduce the risk. The paper concerns the optimal problem of maximizing the utility of terminal wealth. By solving the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations, the optimal strategies about how to purchase the proportional reinsurance and how to invest in the risk-free asset and risky asset are derived respectively.  相似文献

We determine the optimal investment strategy of an individual who targets a given rate of consumption and who seeks to minimize the probability of going bankrupt before she dies, also known as lifetime ruin. We impose two types of borrowing constraints: First, we do not allow the individual to borrow money to invest in the risky asset nor to sell the risky asset short. However, the latter is not a real restriction because in the unconstrained case, the individual does not sell the risky asset short. Second, we allow the individual to borrow money but only at a rate that is higher than the rate earned on the riskless asset.We consider two forms of the consumption function: (1) The individual consumes at a constant (real) dollar rate, and (2) the individual consumes a constant proportion of her wealth. The first is arguably more realistic, but the second is closely connected with Merton’s model of optimal consumption and investment under power utility. We demonstrate that connection in this paper, as well as include a numerical example to illustrate our results.  相似文献

We consider the problem of optimal portfolio choice using the Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) and Value-at-Risk (VaR) measures for a market consisting of n risky assets and a riskless asset and where short positions are allowed. When the distribution of returns of risky assets is unknown but the mean return vector and variance/covariance matrix of the risky assets are fixed, we derive the distributionally robust portfolio rules. Then, we address uncertainty (ambiguity) in the mean return vector in addition to distribution ambiguity, and derive the optimal portfolio rules when the uncertainty in the return vector is modeled via an ellipsoidal uncertainty set. In the presence of a riskless asset, the robust CVaR and VaR measures, coupled with a minimum mean return constraint, yield simple, mean-variance efficient optimal portfolio rules. In a market without the riskless asset, we obtain a closed-form portfolio rule that generalizes earlier results, without a minimum mean return restriction.  相似文献

In response to changeful financial markets and investor’s capital, we discuss a portfolio adjusting problem with additional risk assets and a riskless asset based on credibility theory. We propose two credibilistic mean–variance portfolio adjusting models with general fuzzy returns, which take lending, borrowing, transaction cost, additional risk assets and capital into consideration in portfolio adjusting process. We present crisp forms of the models when the returns of risk assets are some deterministic fuzzy variables such as trapezoidal, triangular and interval types. We also employ a quadratic programming solution algorithm for obtaining optimal adjusting strategy. The comparisons of numeral results from different models illustrate the efficiency of the proposed models and the algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, we assume that the surplus process of an insurance entity is represented by a pure diffusion. The company can invest its surplus into a Black-Scholes risky asset and a risk free asset. We impose investment restrictions that only a limited amount is allowed in the risky asset and that no short-selling is allowed. We further assume that when the surplus level becomes negative, the company can borrow to continue financing. The ultimate objective is to seek an optimal investment strategy that minimizes the probability of absolute ruin, i.e. the probability that the liminf of the surplus process is negative infinity. The corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation is analyzed and a verification theorem is proved; applying the HJB method we obtain explicit expressions for the S-shaped minimal absolute ruin function and its associated optimal investment strategy. In the second part of the paper, we study the optimization problem with both investment and proportional reinsurance control. There the minimal absolute ruin function and the feedback optimal investment-reinsurance control are found explicitly as well.  相似文献

We find the optimal investment strategy to minimize the expected time that an individual’s wealth stays below zero, the so-called occupation time. The individual consumes at a constant rate and invests in a Black-Scholes financial market consisting of one riskless and one risky asset, with the risky asset’s price process following a geometric Brownian motion. Consider an insurer who is allowed to make risk-free and risky investments. The price process of the investment portfolio is described as a geometric Lévy process. We study the tail probability of the stochastic present value of future aggregate claims. When the claim-size distribution is of Pareto type, we obtain a simple asymptotic formula which holds uniformly for all time horizons. The same asymptotic formula holds for the finite-time and infinite-time ruin probabilities. Restricting our attention to the so-called constant investment strategy, we show how the insurer adjusts his investment portfolio to maximize the expected terminal wealth subject to a constraint on the ruin probability.  相似文献

We consider the Cramér-Lundberg model with investments in an asset with large volatility, where the premium rate is a bounded nonnegative random function ct and the price of the invested risk asset follows a geometric Brownian motion with drift a and volatility σ>0. It is proved by Pergamenshchikov and Zeitouny that the probability of ruin, ψ(u), is equal to 1, for any initial endowment u≥0, if ρ?2a/σ2≤1 and the distribution of claim size has an unbounded support. An integral type representation and various extension theorems for monotone linear operators in L p -spaces are considered in relation to market price modelling. As application, a characterization of the existence of a risk-neutral probability measure equivalent to the applied underlying one is provided in terms of the given prices. These results are in the line of the fundamental theorem of asset pricing. Here, in particular, the risk-neutral probability measure considered has the advantage of having its density laying in pre-considered upper and lower bounds.  相似文献

Numerous researchers have applied the martingale approach for models driven by Lévy processes to study optimal investment problems. The aim of this paper is to apply the martingale approach to obtain a closed form solution for the optimal investment, consumption and insurance strategies of an individual in the presence of an insurable risk when the insurable risk and risky asset returns are described by Lévy processes and the utility is a constant absolute risk aversion (CARA). The model developed in this paper can potentially be applied to absorb large insurable losses in the absence of insurance protection and to examine the level of diminishing current utility and consumption.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a compound Poisson risk model perturbed by a Brownian motion. We construct the bivariate cumulative distribution function of the claim size and interclaim time by Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern copula. The integro-differential equations and the Laplace transforms for the Gerber-Shiu functions are obtained. We also show that the Gerber-Shiu functions satisfy some defective renewal equations. For exponential claims, some explicit expressions are obtained, and numerical examples for the ruin probabilities are also given.  相似文献

Hedging a contingent claim with an asset which is not perfectly correlated with the underlying asset results in unhedgeable residual risk. Even if the residual risk is considered diversifiable, the option writer is faced with the problem of uncertainty in the estimation of the drift rates of the underlying and the hedging instrument. If the residual risk is not considered diversifiable, then this risk can be priced using an actuarial standard deviation principle in infinitesimal time. In both cases, these models result in the same nonlinear partial differential equation (PDE). A fully implicit, monotone discretization method is developed for solution of this pricing PDE. This method is shown to converge to the viscosity solution. Certain grid conditions are required to guarantee monotonicity. An algorithm is derived which, given an initial grid, inserts a finite number of nodes in the grid to ensure that the monotonicity condition is satisfied. At each timestep, the nonlinear discretized algebraic equations are solved using an iterative algorithm, which is shown to be globally convergent. Monte Carlo hedging examples are given to illustrate the profit and loss distribution at the expiry of the option.  相似文献

In order to study the effect of different risk measures on the efficient portfolios (frontier) while properly describing the characteristic of return distributions in the stock market, it is assumed in this paper that the joint return distribution of risky assets obeys the multivari-ate t-distribution. Under the mean-risk analysis framework, the interrelationship of efficient portfolios (frontier) based on risk measures such as variance, value at risk (VaR), and expected shortfall (ES) is analyzed and compared. It is proved that, when there is no riskless asset in the market, the efficient frontier under VaR or ES is a subset of the mean-variance (MV) efficient frontier, and the efficient portfolios under VaR or ES are also MV efficient; when there exists a riskless asset in the market, a portfolio is MV efficient if and only if it is a VaR or ES efficient portfolio. The obtained results generalize relevant conclusions about investment theory, and can better guide investors to make their investment decision.  相似文献
