This paper discusses the numerical solution of Burgers' equation on unbounded do-mains. Two artificial boundaries are introduced and boundary conditions are obtained onthe artificial boundaries, which are in nonlinear forms. Then the original problem is re-duced to an equivalent problem on a bounded domain. Finite difference method is appliedto the reduced problem, and some numerical examples are given to show the effectivenessof the new approach.  相似文献

We consider the numerical approximations of the three-dimensional steady potential flow around a body moving in a liquid of finite constant depth at constant speed and distance below a free surface in a channel. One vertical side is introduced as the up-stream artificial boundary and two vertical sides are introduced as the downstream arti-ficial boundaries. On the artificial boundaries, a sequence of high-order global artificial boundary conditions are given. Then the original problem is reduced to a problem defined on a finite computational domain, which is equivalent to a variational problem. After solving the variational problem by the finite element method, we obtain the numerical approximation of the original problem. The numerical examples show that the artificial boundary conditions given in this paper are very effective.  相似文献

In this paper,the numerical solutions of heat equation on 3-D unbounded spatial do-main are considered. n artificial boundary Γ is introduced to finite the computationaldomain.On the artificial boundary Γ,the exact boundary condition and a series of approx-imating boundary conditions are derived,which are called artificial boundary conditions.By the exact or approximating boundary condition on the artificial boundary,the originalproblem is reduced to an initial-boundary value problem on the bounded computationaldomain,which is equivalent or approximating to the original problem.The finite differencemethod and finite element method are used to solve the reduced problems on the finitecomputational domain.The numerical results demonstrate that the method given in thispaper is effective and feasible.  相似文献

The artificial boundary method is applied to solve three-dimensional exterior problems. Two kind of rotating ellipsoids are chosen as the artificial boundaries and the exact artificial boundary conditions are derived explicitly in terms of an infinite series. Then the well-posedness of the coupled variational problem is obtained. It is found that error estimates derived depend on the mesh size, truncation term and the location of the artificial boundary. Three numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

The exact boundary condition on a spherical artificial boundary is derived for thethree-dimensional exterior problem of linear elasticity in this paper. After this bound-ary condition is imposed on the artificial boundary, a reduced problem only defined in abounded domain is obtained. A series of approximate problems with increasing accuracycan be derived if one truncates the series term in the variational formulation, which isequivalent to the reduced problem. An error estimate is presented to show how the errordepends on the finite element discretization and the accuracy of the approximate problem.In the end, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the performance of the proposedmethod.  相似文献

In this paper, a new numerical method for the Signorini problem in three-dimensional elasticity is presented. The problem is reduced to a boundary variational inequality based on a new representation of the derivative of the doublelayer potential. In this paper, we investigate the coupling of natural boundary element and finite element methods of exterior initial boundary value problems for hyperbolic equations. The governing equation is first discretized in time, leading to a time-step scheme, where an exterior elliptic problem has to be solved in each time step. Second, a circular artificial boundary FR consisting of a circle of radius R is introduced, the original problem in an unbounded domain is transformed into the nonlocal boundary value problem in abounded subdomain. And the natural integral equation and the Poisson integral formula are obtained in the infinite domainΩ2 outside circle of radius R. The coupled variational formulation is given. Only the function itself, not its normal derivative at artificial boundary ΓR, appears in the variational equation, so that the unknown numbers are reducedand the boundary element stiffness matrix has a few different elements. Such a coupled method is superior to the one based on direct boundary element method. This paper discusses finite element discretization for variational problem and its corresponding numerical technique, and the convergence for the numerical solutions. Finally, the numerical example is presented to illustrate feasibility and efficiency of this method.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a discrete fractional boundary value problem(FBVP for short). We provide a delicate analysis for the property of Green’s function. Our analysis motivates the study of discrete fractional boundary value problems with fractional boundary conditions.
