Laminar boundary layer flow over an infinite-span, finite-length flat plate is investigated in the regime of strong interaction with a hypersonic gas flow. Under the assumption that an additional condition dependent on the transverse coordinate can be imposed on the trailing edge of the plate the flow functions are expanded in power series in the vicinity of the leading edge. It is shown that these expansions include an indefinite function dependent on the transverse coordinate. The corresponding boundary value problems are formulated and solved and the eigenvalues are determined. It is established that in this case the two-dimensional boundary layer can rearrange itself into a three-dimensional boundary layer.  相似文献

The calorimetric method for determining the heat flux at a permeable (or sublimating) surface requires the solution of several specific heat-transfer problems, since the calorimeter, bringing about discontinuities in the boundary conditions at the wall (the cessation of blowing, a jump in the temperature of the wall and of its catalytic properties, etc.), introduces perturbations into the boundary layer and measures a heat flux differing from the flux in the absence of a calorimeter. Within the framework of the boundary layer, schematization of such problems is usually based on the isolation of an internal boundary layer (sublayer), which is the region of the effect of the new phenomena at the wall, and develops in the main boundary layer [1–5]. To take account of the effect of the inhomogeneity of the flow in the main boundary layer on heat transfer through the sublayer, here the method of mean-mass values is used, which, as has been demonstrated using various examples in [4] and in the present work, has a good degree of accuracy (even in the neighborhood of the breakaway point) and is suitable for the profiles of an inhomogeneous flow of rather general form. Based on this, for a laminar boundary layer finite formulas are obtained below for the heat flux to a calorimeter of relatively small size at a permeable wall, which can be used for the analysis of experiments.  相似文献

The transient thermal boundary layer flow around a square obstruction placed at the middle of the hot wall in a differentially heated cavity is visualized using a shadowgraph technique. The results show that the thermal boundary layer flow, which is blocked by the obstruction, firstly forms an intrusion head under the obstruction (the lower intrusion head). Subsequently, the lower intrusion head bypasses the obstruction and reattaches to the down-stream boundary. During the reattachment process, a more complicated flow is induced, and eventually both the lower intrusion head and the thermal boundary layer destabilize. After the lower intrusion head is convected away, the thermal boundary layer flow re-stabilizes. At the quasi-steady state, the thermal boundary layer forms a double-layer structure, which is split into two sections by the obstruction. It is demonstrated that both the transient processes and the quasi-steady state flow structures of the thermal boundary layer are significantly altered by the obstruction in comparison with the case without the obstruction.  相似文献

This investigation is directed toward understanding the role of coupled mechanical and thermal effects in the linear stability of an isothermal antiplane shear motion which involves a steadily propagatingnormal planar phase boundary in anon-elliptic thermoelastic material. When the relevant process is static — so that the phase boundary does not move prior to the imposition of the disturbance —it is shown to be linearly stable. However, when the process involves a moving phase boundary it may be linearly unstable. Various conditions sufficient to guarantee the linear instability of the process are obtained. These depend on the monotonicity of thekinetic response function — a constitutively supplied entity which relates thedriving traction acting on a phase boundary to the local absolute temperature and the normal velocity of the phase boundary-and, in certain cases, on the spectrum of wave-numbers associated with the perturbation to which the process is subjected. Inertia is found to play an insignificant role in the qualitative features of the aforementioned sufficient conditions. It is shown, in particular, that instability can arise even when the normal velocity of the phase boundary is an increasing function of the driving traction if the temperature dependence in the kinetic response function is of a suitable nature. The instability which is present in this setting occurs only in thelong waves of the Fourier decomposition of the moving phase boundary, implying that the interface prefers to be highly wrinkled.  相似文献

In this paper we present some results obtained by studying the mathematical model describing a moving boundary hyperbolic problem related to a time dependent stress impact in a bar of Maxwell-like material. Due to the impact a shock front propagates with a finite speed. Here our interest is to underline the influence of the dissipative term on the propagation of the shock front.

In the framework of the similarity analysis we are able to reduce the moving boundary hyperbolic problem to a free boundary value problem for an ordinary differential system. It is then possible, by applying two numerical transformation methods, to solve the free boundary value problem numerically. The influence of the dissipative term is evident: the free boundary (that defines the shock front propagation) is an increasing function of the dissipative coefficient.  相似文献

The behavior of a disturbed liquid-gas boundary is considered in transient axisymmetric flow of an ideal incompressible liquid in a confuser with arbitrary expansion angle. The effect of the confuser aperture angle and the function by which the initial disturbance of the spherical liquid-gas boundary is described on the evolution of the boundary with time is shown.  相似文献

应用广义胞映射图论(Generalized Cell Mapping Digraph)方法,数值地研究Thompson的逃逸方程在最佳逃逸点附近的分岔。发现了嵌入在Wada分形吸引域边界上的混沌鞍,混沌鞍是状态空间不稳定(非吸引)的混沌不变集合。Wada分形吸引域边界是具有Wada性质的边界,即吸引域边界上的任意点也同时是至少两个其它吸引域的边界点,称为Wada域边界。我们证明Wada域边界上的混沌鞍导致局部鞍结分岔具有全局不确定性结局,研究了Wada域边界上混沌鞍的形成与演化,证明最终的逃逸分岔是混沌吸引子碰撞混沌鞍的边界激变。  相似文献

The bending problem is reduced to the analytical solution of the Riemann—Hilbert problem for a ring. The process of axisymmetric melting of a homogeneous solid is analysed theoretically. A free boundary problem consisting of continuity, momentum and energy balance with an appropriate boundary condition at the interface is formulated to describe the process of axisymmetric melting. For large Reynolds numbers, an asymptotic solution of the Navier-Stokes equations describing the effect of a thin longitudinal vortex with a constant circulation on the development of an incompressible steady two-dimensional laminar boundary layer on a flat plate is obtained. It is established that, in a narrow wall region extending along the vortex filament, the viscous flow is described by the 3-D boundary layer equations. A solution of these equations for small values of the vortex circulation is studied. It is found that the solution of the two-dimensional pre-separation boundary layer equations collapses. This is attributable to the singular behavior of the 3-D disturbances near the zero-longitudinal-friction points.  相似文献

A solution for Eshelby's inclusion problem of a finite homogeneous isotropic elastic body containing an inclusion prescribed with a uniform eigenstrain and a uniform eigenstrain gradient is derived in a general form using a simplified strain gradient elasticity theory (SSGET). An extended Betti's reciprocal theorem and an extended Somigliana's identity based on the SSGET are proposed and utilized to solve the finite-domain inclusion problem. The solution for the disturbed displacement field is expressed in terms of the Green's function for an infinite three-dimensional elastic body in the SSGET. It contains a volume integral term and a surface integral term. The former is the same as that for the infinite-domain inclusion problem based on the SSGET, while the latter represents the boundary effect. The solution reduces to that of the infinite-domain inclusion problem when the boundary effect is not considered. The problem of a spherical inclusion embedded concentrically in a finite spherical elastic body is analytically solved by applying the general solution, with the Eshelby tensor and its volume average obtained in closed forms. This Eshelby tensor depends on the position, inclusion size, matrix size, and material length scale parameter, and, as a result, can capture the inclusion size and boundary effects, unlike existing Eshelby tensors. It reduces to the classical Eshelby tensor for the spherical inclusion in an infinite matrix if both the strain gradient and boundary effects are suppressed. Numerical results quantitatively show that the inclusion size effect can be quite large when the inclusion is very small and that the boundary effect can dominate when the inclusion volume fraction is very high. However, the inclusion size effect is diminishing as the inclusion becomes large enough, and the boundary effect is vanishing as the inclusion volume fraction gets sufficiently low.  相似文献

The joint motion of an ideal fluid and a submerged circular cylinder is considered in the initial stage after an impact. The dynamics of separation points on the inner free boundary (cavity boundary) and the shapes of the inner and outer free boundaries of the fluid are determined. An asymptotic analysis of the inner free boundary near the separation points is made. A scalar contact problem with friction is formulated as a boundary variational inequality of the second kind. The presence of the non-differentiable friction functional causes difficulties when approximating it. We present two approaches to overcome these difficulties: A regularization procedure leading to a non-linear boundary variational equation, for which we propose an iterative process and the second one is a boundary mixed variational formulation involving Lagrange multiplier. We reformulate our problem in terms of a saddle point problem for the corresponding boundary Lagrangian and describe Uzawa's algorithm to compute it.  相似文献

Although vortex-induced vibration (VIV) has been extensively studied, much of existing literature deals with uniform flow in the absence of a boundary. The VIV flow field of a structure close to a boundary generally remains unexplored, but it can have important engineering implications, such as pipeline scour if the boundary is an erodible seabed. In this paper, laboratory experiments are performed to investigate the flow characteristics of an elastically mounted circular cylinder undergoing VIV, and a rigid plane boundary is considered to simplify the problem. The initial gap-to-diameter ratio is fixed at 0.8, and six different reduced velocities are considered. The velocity field is measured using a high resolution particle image velocimetry (PIV) system, which has several advantages over traditional PIV systems, including high sampling rate and the ability to mitigate scatter of laser light near the boundary, allowing accurate measurements at the viscous sublayer. This paper presents the vibration amplitude and oscillation frequency for different Vr; in addition, the mean velocity field, turbulence characteristics, vortex behavior, gap flow velocity, and normal/shear stresses on the boundary were measured/calculated, leading to new insights on the flow field behavior.  相似文献

The mechanisms of development of slow time-dependent disturbances in the wall region of a hypersonic boundary layer are established and a diagram of the disturbed flow patterns is plotted; the corresponding nonlinear boundary value problem is formulated for each of these regimes. It is shown that the main factors that form the disturbed flow are the gas enthalpy near the body surface, the local viscous-inviscid interaction level, and the type, either subsonic or supersonic, of the boundary layer as a whole. Numerical and analytical solutions are obtained in the linear approximation. It is established that enhancement of the local viscous-inviscid interaction or an increased role for the main supersonic region of the boundary layer makes the disturbed flow by and large “supersonic”: the upstream propagation of the disturbances becomes weaker, while their downstream growth is amplified. Contrariwise, local viscous-inviscid interaction attenuation or an increased role for the main subsonic region of the boundary layer has the opposite effect. Surface cooling favors an increased effect of the main region of the boundary layer while heating favors an increased wall region effect. It is also found that in the regimes considered disturbances travel from the turbulent flow region downstream of the disturbed region under consideration counter to the oncoming flow, which may be of considerable significance in constructing the nonlinear stability theory.  相似文献

A solution for the unsteady-state temperature distribution in a fin of constant area dissipating heat only by convection to an environment of constant temperature, is obtained. The partial differential equation is separated into an ordinary differential equation with position as the independent variable, and a partial differential equation with position and time as the independent variables. The problem is solved for either a step function in temperature or a step function in heat flow rate, for zero time, at one boundary while the other boundary is insulated. The initial condition is taken as an arbitrary constant. The unspecified boundary values (temperature or heat flow rate) are presented for both cases by utilizing dimensionless plots. Experimental verification is presented for the case of constant heat flow rate boundary condition.  相似文献
