We show the existence of a phase transition in the Ising model with transverse field for dimensionsv 2 provided the transverse term is sufficiently small. This is done by proving long-range order occurs using the reflection positivity of the Hamiltonian and localization of eigenvectors. 相似文献

Properties of the ground state in a spin-2 transverse Ising model with the presence of a crystal field 下载免费PDF全文
The properties of the ground state in the spin-2 transverse Ising model with the presence of a crystal field are studied by using the effective-field theory with correlations. The longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, the phase diagram and the internal energy in the ground state are given numerically for a honeycomb lattice (z=3). 相似文献

Fluctuation of the average spin for one-dimensional Ising spins with nearest neighbor interactions are studied. The distribution function for the average spin is calculated for a finite volume, finite temperature, and finite magnetic field. As the volume increases and the temperature diminishes at zero magnetic field, there are two limits in which the probability distribution shows quite different behaviors: in the thermodynamic limit as the volume goes to infinity for finite temperature, small deviations of the fluctuations are described by a Gaussian distribution, and in the limit as the temperature vanishes for a finite volume, the ground states are realized with probability one. The crossover between these limits is analyzed via a ratio of the correlation length to the volume. The helix-coil transition in a polypeptide is discussed as an application. 相似文献

We employ p, q-binomial coefficients, a generalisation of the binomial coefficients, to describe the magnetisation distributions of the Ising model. For the complete graph this distribution corresponds exactly to the limit case p = q. We apply our investigation to the simple d-dimensional lattices for d = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and fit p, q-binomial distributions to our data, some of which are exact but most are sampled. For d = 1 and d = 5, the magnetisation distributions are remarkably well-fitted by p,q-binomial distributions. For d = 4 we are only slightly less successful, while for d = 2, 3 we see some deviations (with exceptions!) between the p, q-binomial and the Ising distribution. However, at certain temperatures near T c the statistical moments of the fitted distribution agree with the moments of the sampled data within the precision of sampling. We begin the paper by giving results of the behaviour of the p, q-distribution and its moment growth exponents given a certain parameterisation of p, q. Since the moment exponents are known for the Ising model (or at least approximately for d = 3) we can predict how p, q should behave and compare this to our measured p, q. The results speak in favour of the p, q-binomial distribution's correctness regarding its general behaviour in comparison to the Ising model. The full extent to which they correctly model the Ising distribution, however, is not settled. 相似文献

We introduce a model of interacting lattices at different resolutions driven by the two-dimensional Ising dynamics with a nearest-neighbor interaction. We study this model both with tools borrowed from equilibrium statistical mechanics as well as non-equilibrium thermodynamics. Our findings show that this model keeps the signature of the equilibrium phase transition. The critical temperature of the equilibrium models corresponds to the state maximizing the entropy and delimits two out-of-equilibrium regimes, one satisfying the Onsager relations for systems close to equilibrium and one resembling convective turbulent states. Since the model preserves the entropy and energy fluxes in the scale space, it seems a good candidate for parametric studies of out-of-equilibrium turbulent systems. 相似文献

The Ising model was introduced in 1920 to describe a uniaxial system of magnetic moments, localized on a lattice, interacting via nearest-neighbour exchange interaction. It is the generic model for a continuous phase transition and arguably the most studied model in theoretical physics. Since it was solved for a two-dimensional lattice by Onsager in 1944, thereby representing one of the very few exactly solvable models in dimensions higher than one, it has served as a testing ground for new developments in analytic treatment and numerical algorithms. Only series expansions and numerical approaches, such as Monte Carlo simulations, are available in three dimensions. This review focuses on Monte Carlo simulation. We build upon a data set of unprecedented size. A great number of quantities of the model are estimated near the critical coupling. We present both a conventional analysis and an analysis in terms of a Puiseux series for the critical exponents. The former gives distinct values of the high- and low-temperature exponents; by means of the latter we can get these exponents to be equal at the cost of having true asymptotic behaviour being found only extremely close to the critical point. The consequences of this for simulations of lattice systems are discussed at length. 相似文献

FeAl alloys in their disordered structural phase have been investigated through an Ising model where besides exchange interactions between nearest-neighbors Fe atoms, a superexchange interaction mediated by Al atoms is also taken into account. The model has been approximately treated according to the effective field theory. Although the phase diagram, as a function of Al concentration, is similar to the one previously obtained from Bogoliubov variational approach for the free energy, a different behavior for the superexchange interaction is achieved, which can also be physically accepted for this system. 相似文献

(h, ) for the Ising model on a large but finite lattice square under the minus boundary conditions. Using known large-deviation results evaluating the balance between the competing effects of the minus boundary conditions and the external magnetic field h, we describe the details of its dependence on h as exemplified by the finite-size rounding of the infinite-volume magnetization discontinuity and its shift with respect to the infinite-volume transition point. 相似文献

The effects of fluctuations of the crystal field on the phase diagram of the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising model with four-spin interactions are investigated within the finite cluster approximation based on a single-site cluster theory. The state equations are derived for the two-dimensional square lattice. It has been found that the system exhibits a variety of interesting features resulting from the fluctuation of the crystal field interactions. In particular, for low mean value D of the crystal field, the critical temperature is not very sensitive to fluctuations and all transitions are of second order for any value of the four-spin interactions. But for relatively high D, the transition temperature depends on the fluctuation of the crystal field, and the system undergoes tricritical behaviour for any strength of the four-spin interactions. We have also found that the model may exhibit reentrance for appropriate values of the system parameters. 相似文献

We determine by Monte Carlo simulations the width of an interface between the stable phase and the metastable phase in a two-dimensional Ising model with a magnetic field, in the case of nonconversed order parameter (Glauber dynamics). At zero temperature, the width increases ast
with–1/3, as predicted by earlier theories. As temperature increases, the value of the effective exponent that we measure decreases toward the value 1/4, which is the value in the absence of magnetic field. 相似文献

A spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 mixed Ising system in a random field is studied by the use of effective-field theory with correlations. The phase diagrams and thermal behaviours of magnetizations are investigated numerically for the honeycomb lattice (z=3) and square lattice (z=4) respectively. The tricritical behaviours for both honeycomb and square lattices, as well as the reentrant behaviour for the square lattice are found. 相似文献

The dynamic compensation temperature in a kinetic spin-5/2 Ising model on a hexagonal lattice 下载免费PDF全文
We present a study of the dynamic behavior of a two-sublattice spin-5/2 Ising model with bilinear and crystal-field interactions in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field on alternating layers of a hexagonal lattice by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=5/2 and S=5/2.We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamic equations.First,we investigate the time variations of the average sublattice magnetizations to find the phases in the system and then the thermal behavior of the dynamic sublattice magnetizations to characterize the nature(first-or second-order) of the phase transitions and to obtain the dynamic phase transition(DPT) points. We also study the thermal behavior of the dynamic total magnetization to find the dynamic compensation temperature and to determine the type of the dynamic compensation behavior. We present the dynamic phase diagrams, including the dynamic compensation temperatures,in nine different planes. The phase diagrams contain seven different fundamental phases, thirteen different mixed phases,in which the binary and ternary combination of fundamental phases and the compensation temperature or the L-type behavior strongly depend on the interaction parameters. 相似文献

We calculate the dynamic phase transition (DPT) temperatures and present the dynamic phase diagrams in the kinetic mixed spin-1/2 and spin-5/2 Ising model under the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the set of mean-field dynamic equations. The time variation of the average magnetizations and the thermal behavior of the dynamic magnetizations are investigated, extensively. The nature (continuous or discontinuous) of the transitions is characterized by studying the thermal behaviors of the dynamic magnetizations. The DPT points are obtained and the phase diagrams are presented in two different planes. Phase diagrams contain four fundamental phases and three coexistence or mixed phases, which strongly depend on interaction parameters. The phase diagrams are discussed and a comparison is made with the results of the other mixed spin Ising systems. 相似文献

The dynamical responses of Ising metamagnet (layered antiferromagnet) in the presence of a sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field are studied by Monte Carlo simulation. The time average staggered magnetisation plays the role of dynamic order parameter. A dynamical phase transition was observed and a phase diagram was plotted in the plane formed by field amplitude and temperature. The dynamical phase boundary is observed to shrink inward as the relative antiferromagnetic strength decreases. The results are compared with that obtained from pure ferromagnetic system. The shape of dynamic phase boundary observed to be qualitatively similar to that obtained from previous meanfield calculations. 相似文献

On the mean-field Ising model in a random external field 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We use a method developed by van Hemmen to obtain the free energy of the mean-field Ising model in a random external magnetic field. Some results of previous mean-field calculations are confirmed and generalized. The tricritical point in the global phase diagram is discussed in detail. We also consider different probability distributions of the random fields and provide some proofs regarding the conditions for the existence of a tricritical point. 相似文献

We use the Monte Carlo method to study an antiferromagnetical Ising spin
system on a centred honeycomb lattice, which is composed of two kinds
of 1/2 spin particles A and B. There exist two different bond
energies JA-A and JA-B in this lattice. Our
study is focused on how the ratio of JA-B to JA-A influences the critical behaviour of this system by analysing the physical quantities, such as the energy, the order parameter,
the specific heat, susceptibility, {etc} each as a function of temperature for a given ratio of JA-B to JA-A. Using these results together with the finite-size scaling method,
we obtain a phase diagram for the ratio JA-B / JA-A. This work is helpful for studying the phase transition
problem of crystals composed of compounds. 相似文献

The synthesis of the Toffoli gate, Fredkin gate, three-qubit Inversion-on-equality gate and D(α) gate, as well as their implementation in a three spins system coupled with Ising interaction are investigated. The sequences of the control pulse and the drift process to implement these gates are given. It is revealed that the implementation of some three-qubit gates in a circular spin chain is much better than in a linear spin chain, and every two measurements of the quantum computation complexity are not always consistent. It is significant to directly study the implementation of the multi-qubit gates and even more complicated components of quantum information processing without resorting to their synthesis. 相似文献

Stochastic resonance and nonequilibrium dynamic phase transition of Ising spin system driven by a joint external field 下载免费PDF全文
The dynamic response and stochastic resonance of a kinetic Ising spin system (ISS) subject to the joint action of an external field of weak sinusoidal modulation and stochastic white-nolse are studied by solving the mean-field equation of motion based on Glauber dynamics. The periodically driven stochastic ISS shows that the characteristic stochastic resonance as well as nonequilibrium dynamic phase transition (NDPT) occurs when the frequency ω and amplitude h0 of driving field, the temperature t of the system and noise intensity D are all specifically in accordance with each other in quantity. There exist in the system two typical dynamic phases, referred to as dynamic disordered paramagnetic and ordered ferromagnetic phases respectively, corresponding to a zero- and a unit-dynamic order parameter. The NDPT boundary surface of the system which separates the dynamic paramagnetic phase from the dynamic ferromagnetic phase in the 3D parameter space of ho-t-D is also investigated. An interesting dynamical ferromagnetic phase with an intermediate order parameter of 0.66 is revealed for the first time in the ISS subject to the perturbation of a joint determinant and stochastic field. The intermediate order dynamical ferromagnetic phase is dynamically metastable in nature and owns a peculiar characteristic in its stability as well as the response to external driving field as compared with a fully order dynamic ferromagnetic phase. 相似文献
