The kinetics of the hydrogen abstraction from H2O2 by ?OH has been modeled with MP2/6‐31G*//MP2/6‐31G*, MP2‐SAC//MP2/6‐31G*, MP2/6‐31+G**//MP2/6‐31+G**, MP2‐SAC// MP2/6‐31+G**, MP4(SDTQ)/6‐311G**//MP2/6‐31G*, CCSD(T)/6‐31G*//CCSD(T)/6‐31G*, CCSD(T)/6‐31G**//CCSD(T)/6‐31G**, CCSD(T)/6‐311++G**//MP2/6‐31G* in the gas phase. MD simulations have been used to generate initial geometries for the stationary points along the potential energy surface for hydrogen abstraction from H2O2. The effective fragment potential (EFP) has been used to optimize the relevant structures in solution. Furthermore, the IEFPCM model has been used for the supermolecules generated via MD calculations. IEFPCM/MP2/6‐31G* and IEFPCM/CCSD(T)/6‐31G* calculations have also been performed for structures without explicit water molecules. Experimentally, the rate constant for hydrogen abstraction by ?OH drops from 1.75 × 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 in the gas phase to 4.48 × 10?14 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 in solution. The same trend has been reproduced best with MP4 (SDTQ)/6‐311G**//MP2/6‐31G* in the gas phase (0.415 × 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) and with EFP (UHF/6‐31G*) in solution (3.23 × 10?14 cm3 molecule?1 s?1). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A theoretical study on the blue-shifted H-bond N-H…O and red-shifted H-bond O-H…O in the complexHNO…H_2O_2 was conducted by employment of both standard and counterpoise-corrected methods to calculate thegeometric structures and vibrational frequencies at the MP2/6-31G(d),MP2/6-31 G(d,p),MP2/6-311 q G(d,p),B3LYP/6-31G(d),B3LYP/6-31 G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311 G(d,p) levels. In the H-bond N-H…O,the calcu-lated blue shift of N-H stretching frequency is in the vicinity of 120 cm~(-1) and this is indeed the largest theoreticalestimate of a blue shift in the X-H…Y H-bond ever reported in the literature. From the natural bond orbital analy-sis,the red-shifted H-bond O-H…O can be explained on the basis of the dominant role of the hyperconjugation. For the blue-shifted H-bond N-H…O,the hyperconjugation was inhibited due to the existence of significant elec-tron density redistribution effect, and the large blue shift of the N-H stretching frequency was prominently due tothe rehybridization of sp~n N-H hybrid orbital.  相似文献

Three hydrogen-bonded minima on the phenol-water, C6H5OH—H2O, potential energy surface were located with 3–21G and 6–31G** basis sets at both Hartree–Fock and MP2 levels of theory. MP2 binding energies were computed using large “correlation consistent” basis sets that included extra diffuse functions on all atoms. An estimate of the effect of expanding the basis set to the triple-zeta level (multiple f functions on carbon and oxygen and multiple d functions on hydrogen) was derived from calculations on a related prototype system. The best estimates of the electronic binding energies for the three minima are –7.8, –5.0, and –2.0 kcal/mol. The consequences of uncertainties in the geometries and limitations in the level of correlation recovery are analyzed. It is suggested that our best estimates will likely underestimate the complete basis set, full CI values by 0.1–0.3 kcal/mol. Vibrational normal modes were determined for all three minima, including an MP2/6–31G** analysis for the most strongly bound complex. Computational strategies for larger phenol–water complexes are discussed. © John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A theoretical study was performed for the reaction of formyl cation and acetylene to give C3H+O in flames and C2H (nonclassical)+CO, both in flames and in interstellar clouds. The corresponding Potential Energy Surface (PES) was studied at the B3LYP/cc‐pVTZ level of theory, and single‐point calculations on the B3LYP geometries were carried out at the CCSD(T)/cc‐pVTZ level. Our results display a route to propynal evolving energetically under C2H (nonclassical)+CO and, consequently, accessible in interstellar clouds conditions. This route connects the most stable C3H3O+ isomer (C2‐protonated propadienone) with a species from which propynal may be produced in a dissociative electron recombination reaction. The reaction channel to produce the C3H+O evolves basically through two TSs and presents an endothermicity of 63.9 kcal/mol at 2000 K. According to our Gibbs energy profiles, the C2‐protonated propadienone is the most stable species at low–moderate temperatures and, consequently, could play a certain role in interstellar chemistry. On the contrary, in combustion chemistry conditions (2000 K) the C2H (nonclassical)+CO products are the most thermodynamically favored species. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The gas‐phase nucleophilic substitution reactions at saturated oxygen X? + CH3OY (X, Y = Cl, Br, I) have been investigated at the level of CCSD(T)/6‐311+G(2df,p)//B3LYP/6‐311+G(2df,p). The calculated results indicate that X? preferably attacks oxygen atom of CH3OY via a SN2 pathway. The central barriers and overall barriers are respectively in good agreement with both the predictions of Marcus equation and its modification, respectively. Central barrier heights (ΔH and ΔH) correlate well with the charges (Q) of the leaving groups (Y), Wiberg bond orders (BO) and the elongation of the bonds (O? Y and O? X) in the transition structures. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2007  相似文献

The dimerization energies of two M to give M (M=S,Se) were calculated. They depend strongly on the size of the basis set and the correlation method used (ranging from 217 to 522 kJ/mol, M = S) and, therefore, a systematic study of basis set and correlation effects was performed [MP2, MP3, MP4(SDQ), CCSD, CCSD(T)]. The introduction of a second set of polarising d‐functions caused a significant reduction of the dimerization energies, but neither of the above limits is reached by the MPn (n=2,3,4) theory, even with the largest basis sets [cc‐pVQZ]. However, convergence was achieved by CCSD(T), compound methods or hybrid HF/DFT calculations employing flexible basis sets [e.g., CCSD(T)/cc‐pV5Z, CBS‐Q or B3PW91/6‐311+G(3df)] and revealed an average dimerization energy of 261 (199) kJ/mol for sulfur (selenium), ΔrH298 (2S → S) is 257 kJ/mol. In the selenium system the dependence on basis set and correlated method was less pronounced. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Comput Chem 21: 218–226, 2000  相似文献

An MP4(full,SDTQ)/6-311++G(d,p)//MP2(full)/6-311++G(d,p) ab initio study was performed of the reactions of formyl and isoformyl cations with H2O and NH3, which play an important role in flame and interstellar chemistries. Two different confluent channels were located leading to CO+H3O+/NH. The first one corresponds to the approach of the neutral molecule to the carbon atom of the cations. The second one leads to the direct proton transfer from the cations to the neutrals. At 900 K the separate products CO+H3O+/NH are the most stable species along the Gibbs energy profiles for the processes. For the reaction with H2O the reaction channel leading to HC(OH) (protonated formic acid) is disfavored with respect to the two CO+H3O+ channels in agreement with the experimental evidence that H3O+ is the major ion observed in hydrocarbon flames. According to our calculations, NH+H2O are considerably more stable in Gibbs energy than NH3+H3O+;NH will predominate in the reaction zone when ammonia is added to CH4+Ar diffusion flame, as experimentally observed. At 100 K the most stable structures are the intermediate complexes CO…HOH/HNH. Particularly the CO…HOH complex has a lifetime large enough to be detected and, therefore, could play a certain role in interstellar chemistry. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Phenyl radicals are formed in combustion and oxidation systems by abstraction of the phenyl—hydrogen from benzene or aromatics by active radical species and by oxidation and thermal reactions of the benzylic carbon on alkyl‐substituted aromatics. The reaction of phenyl with O2 leads to chain‐branching reactions and a number of unsaturated oxygenated hydrocarbon intermediates that may need to be included in detailed combustion models. Thermochemical parameters and structures on important species resulting from the phenyl radical + O2 association and reaction are reported in this study. Enthalpies, Δf H, of a series of stable molecules, radicals, and transition state structures are calculated using ab initio (G3MP2B3 and G3) and density functional (DFT, B3LYP/6–311g(d,p) calculations, group additivity (GA), and literature data. The ab initio and density functional calculations are combined with isodesmic reaction analysis, whenever possible, to improve the accuracy of the enthalpy values. Entropies, S, and heat capacities, Cpf298 (T), are calculated using density functional calculations, group additivity, and literature data. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Geometry, thermodynamic, and electric properties of the π‐EDA complex between hexamethylbenzene (HMB) and tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) are investigated at the MP2/6‐31G* and, partly, DFT‐D/6‐31G* levels. Solvent effects on the properties are evaluated using the PCM model. Fully optimized HMB–TCNE geometry in gas phase is a stacking complex with an interplanar distance 2.87 × 10?10 m and the corresponding BSSE corrected interaction energy is ?51.3 kJ mol?1. As expected, the interplanar distance is much shorter in comparison with HF and DFT results. However the crystal structures of both (HMB)2–TCNE and HMB–TCNE complexes have interplanar distances somewhat larger (3.18 and 3.28 × 10?10 m, respectively) than our MP2 gas phase value. Our estimate of the distance in CCl4 on the basis of PCM solvent effect study is also larger (3.06–3.16 × 10?10 m). The calculated enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs energy, and equilibrium constant of HMB–TCNE complex formation in gas phase are: ΔH0 = ?61.59 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?143 J mol?1 K?1, ΔG0 = ?18.97 kJ mol?1, and K = 2,100 dm3 mol?1. Experimental data, however, measured in CCl4 are significantly lower: ΔH0 = ?34 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?70.4 J mol?1 K?1, ΔG0 = ?13.01 kJ mol?1, and K = 190 dm3 mol?1. The differences are caused by solvation effects which stabilize more the isolated components than the complex. The total solvent destabilization of Gibbs energy of the complex relatively to that of components is equal to 5.9 kJ mol?1 which is very close to our PCM value 6.5 kJ mol?1. MP2/6‐31G* dipole moment and polarizabilities are in reasonable agreement with experiment (3.56 D versus 2.8 D for dipole moment). The difference here is due to solvent effect which enlarges interplanar distance and thus decreases dipole moment value. The MP2/6‐31G* study supplemented by DFT‐D parameterization for enthalpy calculation, and by the PCM approach to include solvent effect seems to be proper tools to elucidate the properties of π‐EDA complexes. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The equilibrium geometries, harmonic vibrational frequencies, charge distributions, spin density distributions, dipole moments, electron affinities (EAs), and C? O bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of HO, CH3O, CH2FO, CHF2O, and CF3O peroxyl radicals have been calculated using ab initio molecular orbital theory and density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP level. The C? H bond dissociation energies of the parent fluoromethanes have been calculated using the same levels of theory. Both the MP2(full) and B3LYP methods, using the 6‐31G(d,p) basis set, are found to be capable of accurately predicting the geometries of peroxyl radicals. Electron correlation accounts for ~25% of the C? H BDE of fluoromethanes and for ~50% of the C? O BDE of the corresponding peroxyl radicals. The B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) method is found to be comparable to high ab initio levels in predicting C? O BDEs of studied peroxyl radicals and C? H BDEs of the parent alkanes. The progressive fluorine substitution of hydrogen atoms in methyl peroxyl radicals results in shortening of the C? O bond, lengthening of the O? O bond, an increase (decrease) of the spin density on the terminal (inner) oxygen, a decrease in the dipole moments, and an increase in electron affinities. Both C? O BDEs and EAs of peroxyl radicals (RO) correlate well with Taft σ* substituent constants for the R group in peroxyl radicals. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2004  相似文献

The structural properties of neutral and ionic AlnO2 (n = 1–10) clusters have been systematically investigated using the density functional method B3LYP with a standard 6‐311+G(d) basis set. The calculated results show that in the AlnO, AlnO2, and AlnO (n ≥ 3) clusters, O atoms tend to penetrate into the aluminum clusters with some Al atoms moving outward. The binding energies and natural charges populations indicate that the oxygen‐etching is generally stronger in the order Al < Aln < Al for n < 3, and Al > Aln > Al for n ≥ 3. To further understand the mechanism of interaction between Al and O2, the adsorption of O2 on the Al(111) surface was studied using the density functional theory with plane wave pseudopotential method. The calculated results are consistent with the experimental observation that the O2 molecule would dissociate on the Al(111) surface and be adsorbed in adjacent hollow sites, forming a local structure of Al3O–Al3O. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Relative stabilities and singlet–triplet energy differences are calculated for 24 C2NX azacarbenes (where X is H, F, Cl, and Br). Three skeletal arrangements are employed including azacyclopropenylidene, [(imino)methylene]carbene, and cyanocarbene. Halogens appear to alternate the electronic ground states of C2NH azacarbenes, from triplet to singlet states, at MP3/6‐311++G**, B1LYP/6‐311++G**, B3LYP/6‐311++G**, MP2/6‐311++G**, MP4(SDTQ)/6‐311++G**, QCISD(T)/6‐311++G**, CCSD(T)/6‐311++G**, CCSD(T)/cc‐pVTZ, G1, and G2 levels of theory. The aromatic characters of singlet cyclic azacyclopropenylidenes are measured using GIAO–NICS calculations. Linear correlations are found between the B3LYP/6‐311++G** calculated LUMO–HOMO energy gaps (ΔEHOMO ‐ LUMO) of the singlet carbenes versus their corresponding singlet–triplet energy separations (ΔE). Electrophilic characters are found for all singlet azacarbenes in their addition reactions to alkenes with the highest electrophilicity being exhibited for X = F. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Five cation clusters X (X=H, Li, Na, K, and Cu) with two possible isomers, i.e., regular trigonal structure (D3h) and linear structure (D∞h), have been investigated using four methods: B3LYP, B3PW91, MP2, CCSD(T) and basis set 6‐311+G(3df). The calculations show that only the regular trigonal structure (D3h) is stable. The related neutral clusters X3Cl (X=H, Li, Na, K, and Cu) are also investigated using two methods: B3LYP, MP2, and basis set 6‐311+G(3df). For H3Cl species, there is no a stable structure to be found. For other four X3Cl (X=Li, Na, K, and Cu) species, there are two stable isomers, for which the bidentate structures (C2v‐1) [see Fig. 1 (d)] are global minima. According to the general criteria for aromaticity including resonance energy (RE) and nucleus‐independent chemical shift (NICS), the five trigonal isomers exhibit a higher degree of aromaticity. Molecular orbital analysis reveals that the five trigonal X(X=H, Li, Na, K, and Cu) isomers possess only σ‐aromaticity originating from s orbitals. For the Cu ring the d orbitals do not play a significant role in the electron delocalization effects. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2007  相似文献

The hydrogen bonding of 1:1 complexes formed between formamide and water molecule have been investigated systematically using Hartree–Fock (HF), hybrid density functional theory (B3LYP), and post‐Hartree–Fock (MP2 and CCSD(T)) methods with range of basis sets 6‐31G(d), cc‐pVXZ (X = D, T, Q) and aug‐cc‐pVYZ (Y = D, T). Three stable structures are considered on the potential energy surface of formamide and water system. The optimized geometric parameters and interaction energies for various isomers at different levels are estimated. The IR frequencies, intensities, and frequency shifts are reported. This study shows that B3LYP/aug‐cc‐pVDZ method gives better performance for formamide‐water complexes. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2010.  相似文献

The vibrational characteristics (vibrational frequencies and infrared intensities) for free and complexed CO and HONO2 have been predicted using ab initio calculations at SCF and MP2 levels with different basis sets and B3LYP/6?31G(d,p) calculations. The ab initio calculations show that the complexation between HONO2 and CO leads to two stable structures: CO … HONO2 (1A) and OC … HONO2 (1B). The changes in the vibrational characteristics from free monomers to complexes have been estimated. It was established that the most sensitive to the complexation is the stretching O? H vibration. In agreement with the experiment, its vibrational frequency in the complexes is shifted to lower frequency (Δν = ?123 cm?1). The magnitude of the wave number shift is indicative of relatively strong hydrogen‐bonded interaction. The ab initio calculations at different levels predict an increase of the infrared intensity of the stretching O? H vibration for structure 1A more than five times and for structure 1B more than nine times. The most consistent agreement between the computed values of the frequency shifts for structure 1B and those experimentally observed suggests that this structure is preferred. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The geometrical parameters, vibrational frequencies, and dissociation energies for H (n = 5–8) clusters have been investigated using high level ab initio quantum mechanical techniques with large basis sets. The highest level of theory employed in this study is TZ2P CCSD(T). The C1 structure of H is predicted to be a global minimum, while the Cs structure of H is calculated to be a transition state. Harmonic vibrational frequencies are also determined at the DZP and TZ2P CCSD levels of theory. The dissociation energies, De, for H (n = 5–8) have been predicted using energy differences at each optimized geometry, and zero‐point vibrational energies (ZPVEs) are considered to compare with experimental values. The dissociation energies (Do) have been predicted to be 1.69, 1.65, 1.65, and 1.46 kcal · mol for H, H, H (C1 symmetry) and H, respectively, at the TZ2P CCSD(T) level of theory. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two theoretical models, a reorganization model and an activation model, are presented for accurately determining the energy barrier of the type M(H2O) of the transition‐metal complexes in the electron‐transfer process. Ab initio calculations are carried out at UMP2/6‐311G level for several redox pairs M(H2O) (M=V, Cr, Mn, Fe, and Co) to calculate their inner‐sphere reorganization energies and activation energies according to the models presented in this article. The values of theoretical inner‐sphere reorganization energies and activational energies are comparable with the experimental results obtained from the vibration spectroscopic data. The theoretical reorganization energy of the every redox pair is four times as much as its activation energy, which agrees with Marcus' electron‐transfer theory. The fact proved that the theoretical models presented in this article are scientific and available for studying the electron‐transfer process of the transition‐metal complex. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. At DFT/B3LYP/6‐31G** theoretical level, C6H and C (n = 0, ?2, and +2), C6H and C (n = 0, ±2, ±4, and ±6), C6H (n = 0–6), as well as C6H6‐A and C6‐A (A = Be, B, N, O, Mg, Al, Si, S, and Fe) structures were investigated. Comparing NICS values of C6H and C (n = 0, ?2, and +2), we discovered that C6H, C6H were antiaromatic, and C6H6, C6, C, C had aromaticity with negative NICS values. According to research of C6H and C (n = 0, ±2, ±4, ±6), C6H (n = 0–6), we sustained that their σ and π orbit were different and the locations of electrons were difficult to confirm in ionic structures. Thus, neither 4n + 2 rule nor NICS values can precisely estimate the aromaticity of ionic structures. Besides, through WBI (NBO) research of C6H6‐A and C6‐A (A = Be, B, N, O, Mg, Al, Si, S, and Fe) structures, we found that C6H6 was easy to accept electrons, contrarily, C6 was prone to bestowing electrons. Moreover, C6H6 took the symmetrical carbon atoms form feeble interaction or bond, and C6 used all carbon atoms to impact with other atom. C6H6 generated two contrapuntal single bonds with oxygen, sulfur, and nitrogen atoms, whereas C6 molecule formed double bond with oxygen and nitrogen atoms, two conjoint single bonds with sulfur atom. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
