We present measurements of transmission of infrared radiation through double-layer metallic grating structures. Each metal layer contains an array of subwavelength slits and supports transmission resonance in the absence of the other layer. The two metal layers are fabricated in close proximity to allow coupling of the evanescent field on individual layers. The transmission of the double layer is found to be surprisingly large at particular wavelengths, even when no direct line of sight exists through the structure as a result of the lateral shifts between the two layers. We perform numerical simulations using rigorous coupled wave analysis to explain the strong dependence of the peak transmission on the lateral shift between the metal layers.  相似文献

The theory of transmission of magnetic quantum beats of γ radiation, induced by an RF magnetic field in the magnetic resonance method, is considered. The dependence of the γ-resonance spectra of harmonics on the “optical” path length and the polarization of the incident γ radiation is analyzed. It is shown that the dependence of the harmonic intensity on the “optical” path length is nonmonotonic. The polarization selection of harmonics and their spectral sensitivity are revealed.  相似文献

The dependences of the absorptivity of a nanocomposite layer (a dielectric matrix with spherical metal inclusions) on the frequency, the volume fraction, the size of inclusions, the thickness of the layer, and the angle of incidence of the wave on it are studied. It is shown that the particular features of optical characteristics are related with the plasmon resonance in nanoparticles and the resonant-frequency dependence of the dielectric permittivity of the composite medium. The values of film parameters and frequency intervals in which the incident radiation is absorbed almost completely are found.  相似文献

We investigated, both theoretically and experimentally, the dependence of the intensity of spectral lines of thermal radiation from plane-parallel semiconductor resonator structures on their optical parameters (volume absorption and coefficients of reflection from surfaces). The investigations were performed in the spectral region of absorption by free charge carriers (λ = 3–17 μm). It is shown for such structures that the amplitudes of thermal radiation lines depend non-monotonically on the transmission factor. We determined the optical parameter values for a resonator structure that are optimal when forming comb radiation spectrum. The conditions are found under which the intensity of lines of thermal radiation from a semiconductor plane-parallel layer approaches that of thermal radiation from a blackbody.  相似文献

This paper reports on studying the spectral properties of a cholesteric liquid crystal with a defective layer of a nanocomposite consisting of metallic nanoballs dispersed in a transparent matrix and characterized by an effective resonance dielectric permittivity. The transmission, reflection, and absorption spectra of waves of both circular polarizations have been calculated, and the spectral splitting of the defective mode when its frequency coincides with the resonance frequency of the nanocomposite has been studied. An essential dependence of the splitting on the nanoball concentration in the defect has been established. It has been shown that, depending on the position of the resonance frequency with respect to the boundaries of the cholesteric band gap, an additional passband appears in the transmission spectrum, which corresponds to waves of the diffracting circular polarization, or an additional band gap for waves of both circular polarizations, which are substantially modified with variations of both the incidence angle of light and the cholesteric helix pitch.  相似文献

Estimation of conditions for manifestation of bistability in the resonance curves of the transmission of a layer of active atoms with inhomogeneous broadening has been made. 利用太赫兹时域光谱(terahertz time domain spectroscopy,简称THz-TDS),研究了亚波长金属分形结构在THz波段的透射增强特性.分别从实验和理论两个方面,研究了铜箔上各级分形结构THz透射增强现象的产生机理.结果表明,在低频区的透射增强主要是由低级分形线中电子运动的共振引起的,而高频区的透射增强则主要由高级分形线中电子运动的共振引起的.从而将这种透射增强效应归结为分形结构中电子的共振辐射,即分形结构的局域共振效应. 关键词: 分形 太赫兹 透射 共振峰  相似文献

The coefficient of interband absorption of a weak electromagnetic wave by quantum wires in a transverse magnetic field and an intense laser radiation field is calculated. It is shown that, if the laser radiation frequency is equal either to the size quantization frequency (dimensional infrared resonance) or to a hybrid frequency (magnetoinfrared resonance), laser illumination can determine the shape of absorption oscillations. In particular, it is shown that the second magnetoabsorption peak is split into two peaks, the half-widths of which and the distance between which depend on the intensity of resonance laser radiation. The influence of the polarization of IR radiation on the interband absorption in quantum wires is discussed. The dynamics of the frequency dependence of the optical absorption coefficient with increasing intensity of resonance laser radiation is studied.  相似文献

In this work the sensing capability of an artificial magnetic metamaterial based on pairs of metal slabs is demonstrated, both theoretically and experimentally, in the microwave regime. The demonstration is based on transmission measurements and simulations monitoring the shift of the magnetic resonance frequency as one changes a thin dielectric layer placed between the slabs of the pairs. Strong dependence of the magnetic resonance frequency on both the permittivity and the thickness of the dielectric layer under detection was observed. The sensitivity to the dielectrics′ permittivity (ε) is larger for dielectrics of low ε values, which makes the approach suitable for sensing organic materials also in the THz regime. The capability of our approach for THz sensing is also demonstrated through simulations.  相似文献

We present the numerical investigation of the optical transmission through a periodic gold nano-slit structure composed with two non-identical layers, and compare it with that of double-layer structure with two identical layers. The optical enhancement is attributed to the surface Plasmon resonance collaborated with the localized waveguide resonance. It is shown that the transmission behaviors are strongly dependent on the layer separation and lateral displacement between the two single metallic gratings. Especially, it is found that extraordinary transmission exists even if the slit of one layer shifts laterally over that of the other one to the situation that no light can propagate directly when layer separation D = 0. When the slit widths of two layers are not equal, the surface plasmon resonance peak alternately decreases and increases twice, and the localized waveguide resonance peak appears at a longer wavelength as the lateral displacement varies for a non-zero layer separation, which differs from the situation with two identical layers. These transmission properties of the structures show promise for applications in optical devices.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Mo/IrMn/Co/Mo/SiO2/Si structures with alternative sequences of the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic layers have been studied by measuring the angular dependence of the high-frequency radiation absorption in the ferromagnetic resonance region. The layers have been prepared by pulsed laser deposition in the absence of a magnetic field. It has been found that thermal annealing and cooling make it possible to create the exchange bias in the structure with the upper antiferromagnetic layer at a temperature much below the Néel temperature. At the same time, the identical heat treatment does not induce the exchange bias in the structure with the upper ferromagnetic layer. The possible mechanisms of the phenomena observed are discussed.  相似文献

We solve the problem of the influence of a small-radius (ka1) isotropic plasma cylinder with a coaxial free-space cavity on the radiation from a source of electromagnetic waves to an outer region of free space. Conditions of the resonance radiation are obtained and characteristics of this radiation as functions of the relative size of the cavity are studied. We show that the resonance frequency splits into two frequencies such that the transmission coefficients at these frequencies can exceed the resonance transmission coefficient for the plasma cylinder without a cavity. The results obtained are compared with the case of emission from a two-layer spherical plasma resonator.  相似文献

The time dependence of the resonance fluorescence of nuclei excited by the spontaneous radiation of identical nuclei is studied. Particular attention is paid to the influence of the periodic overlap of the source on the form of the scattered radiation line and it is shown that the line may even split. 利用Lowtran7大气传输模型计算了0.4~0.8μm可见光波段的太阳辐射、大气自身的热辐射以及天地背景辐射。利用粗糙面光散射理论与双向反射分布函数计算了空中目标表面对太阳辐射、云层对阳光反射的散射。并利用传热学和背景辐射理论,根据能量守恒定律建立了空间目标表面温度的热平衡方程。以气球为例,计算了不同表面涂层材料的气球在不同地理位置、不同高度、不同时间、温度及辐射功率的变化。分析了空间目标红外辐射特性的一般规律和特征。  相似文献

Formulas are proposed for computing the luminescence emittance of a plane-parallel light-diffusing layer. The formulas are developed for both the side on which the exciting radiation is incident and for the opposite side with allowance for the dependence of the absorption coefficient on excitation power. The effects of individual parameters of the light-diffusing layer and excitation power on emittance are analyzed. Simple analytical expressions for the luminescence emittance are derived for several special cases (excitation by weakly and strongly absorbed radiation, the case of an infinitely thick layer).  相似文献

In this work we analyze the Tomasch effect in double barrier insulating superconducting N1ISIN2 (N: normal metal, I: insulator and S: superconductor) junctions. From the solution of the Bogoliubov–de Gennes equations we find that the differential conductance presents resonances when the applied voltage changes. These resonances are originated by the formation of quasibound states in the superconducting region and depend on the symmetry of the pair potential. We develop an analytical model in order to find the quasibound states energies and its lifetimes. This model allows us to calculate the voltage at which each resonance appears and the resonance widths. We calculate and analyze the dependence of the transmission coefficients with the thickness of the superconducting layer.  相似文献
