Reactions of diazaphospholes with phenyldiazomethane

Conclusions The action of 2-acetyl-5-methyl-1, 2, 3-diazaphosphole on phenyldiazomethane at –15°C in hexane leads to 2-acetyl-4-methyl-8-phenyl-1-phospha-2,3,7,8-tetraazabicyclo[3.3.0]octa-3,7-diene. Reactions of diazaphospholes with isocyanates

Synthesis of 1,2,4- and 1,3,4-oxadiazoles from 1-aryl-5-methyl-1<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbonyl chlorides

5-Substituted 2-(1-aryl-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were synthesized by reaction of 1-aryl-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbonyl chlorides with the corresponding 5-substituted 1H-tetrazoles. 5-Methyl-1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbonyl chloride reacted with N′-hydroxybenzimidamides to give 3-aryl-5-(5-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1,2,4-oxadiazoles. Reactions of 4-(5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)benzoic acid with N′-hydroxybenzimidamides resulted in the formation of 3-aryl-5-[4-(5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)phenyl]-1,2,4-oxadiazoles.     

Features of Reaction of 2-(5-Methyl-2-phenyl-2<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-4<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-benzo[<Emphasis Type="Italic">e</Emphasis>]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorin-4-one with 1,2-Dicarbonyl Compounds

2-(5-Methyl-2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-4H-benzo[e]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorin-4-one reacts with perfluorodiacetyl, 3,6-di(tert-butyl)-1,2-benzoquinone and phenanthrenequinone only with the participation of a three-coordinated phosphorus atom to form spirophosphoranes containing acyclic 5-methyl-2- phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl substituent, whereas the interaction with tetrachloro-1,2-benzoquinone proceeds via expanding the six-membered heterocycle to the nine-membered one to form 2-(2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-2,9-dioxo-4,5,6,7-tetrachlorodibenzo[d,h]-1,3,8-trioxaphosphonine.     

Reaction of a 2H-1,2,3-Diazaphosphole with Ethane-1,2-Dithiol

Abstract

Reaction of 2-acetyl-5-methyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphole with ethane-1,2-dithiol at ?30°C leads to the formation of 2-acetyl-3-(β-mercaptoethylthio)-5-methyl-1,2,3-diaza-phospholene. On heating, this product forms 2-(β-mercaptoethylthio)-1,3,2-dithia-phospholane, 1,2-bis(1,3,2-dithiaphospholanyl)-dithioethane, and N-acetyl-N′-isopropilidene-hydrazine.     

2H-1,2,3-Diazaphospholes in Addition Reactions

Abstract

2H-1,2,3-Diazaphospholes activity depends on the nature of substituents in 2,4,5-positions of the diazaphosphole ring. 5-Methy1-2-pheny1 (acety1)-1,2,3-diazaphospholes 1,2 react with the alcohols at room temperature, and 2-cyclohexyl-4,5-tetramethylen-1,2,3-diazaphosphole -3-at 65°C. The adduct 4 degrades to cyclohexanon-N-cyclohexyl-N-methyl-nydrasone 5.     

Structure of the products of the oxidative dehydrodimerization of 2,4-diaminoazobenzenes in the system CuCl-pyridine

Conclusions Oxidation of 2,4-diaminoazobenzene and its 5-methyl- and 5-butoxyderivatives with oxygen in the system copper(I) chloride-pyridine gives, in addition to polymers, mixtures of the corresponding bis(2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazolo)[4,5a:45h]phenazines and bis(2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazolo)[4, 5c:45g]-9,10-diazaphenanthrenes.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya., No. 6, pp. 1375–1380, June, 1988.     

Synthesis of 5-hydroxy-4-nitrosobenzotriazoles and 6-hydroxy-7-nitrosoindazoles and their splitting into β-triazolyl- and β-pyrazolylacrylic acids

5-Hydroxy-4-nitrosobenzotriazoles and 6-hydroxy-7-nitrosoindazoles were synthesized. By the action of benzenesulfonyl chloride in an alkaline medium, only 5-hydroxy-4-nitroso-2-phenyl-benzotriazole and 1-methyl-6-hydroxy-7-nitrosoindazole split into 5-carboxyvinyl-2-phenyl-4-cyano-1,2,3-triazole- and -(1-methyl-5-cyano-4-pyrazolyl)acrylic acid, respectively, while the fragmentation under electron impact proceeds by another scheme.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 4, pp. 491–498, April, 1988.     

Formation of cage phosphonate via hydrolysis of 2-(5-methyl-2-phenyl-2<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl)-1,5-dioxo-4-trifluoromethyl-4-ethoxycarbonylbenzo[<Emphasis Type="Italic">f</Emphasis>]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphepine

A new approach to obtaining of caged bicyclic phosphonate, 4-hydroxy-3-trifluoromethyl-3-ethoxycarbonyl-8-(1-phenylhydrazonoethyl)-5,6-benzo-2,7,1-dioxaphosphabicyclo[3.2.1^1.5]octane, based on hydrolysis of 2,5-dioxobenzo[f]1,3,2-dioxaphosphepine derivative bearing 5-methyl-2-phenyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphosphol-4-yl substituent at the phosphorus was developed. The hydrolysis process includes elimination of P(II) atom and intramolecular cyclization involving endocyclic carbonyl group of the phosphepine. Structure of the caged phosphonate was established by NMR and XRD methods.     

Synthesis of new polydentate tweezers ligands of amido-amine type

A series of new tweezers amido-amine ligands containing pyrrole, bipyrrole, and dipyrrolylmethane fragments were synthesized by reaction of 2-thioxothiazolidin-3-yl derivatives of α-pyrrolecarboxylic acids {5-[1-(5-carboxy-3-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-1-methylethyl]-4-methyl-3-phenyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid, 5-[(5-carboxy-3-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)phenylmethyl]-4-methyl-3-phenyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid, 5-(5-carboxy-3-methyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-4-methyl-3-phenyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid, and 3,4-dimethyl-pyrrole-2,5-dicarboxylic acid} with o-phenylenediamine. All compounds obtained were characterized by elemental analysis, NMR and mass spectra.     

NMR parameters,isomerism, and conformational analysis of 3-methyl-2-phenyl-5-(3-methyl-2-phenyl-3,4-dehydropiperid-6-yl)-pyridine

The configurational and conformational features of the trans and cis isomers of 3-methyl-2-phenyl-5-(3-methyl-2-phenyl-3,4-dehydropiperid-6-yl)pyridine, formed as by-products in the phenylation of -picoline by phenyllithium, were established. The revealed stereospecificity of the ⁵J_HH and ¹J_CH SSCCs may be utilized as an independent criterion in the conformational analysis of piperideine systems.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 1, pp. 71–74, January, 1993.     

Azolyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles

Huisgen reaction of (E)-1,5-diarylpent-2-en-4-yn-1-ones and (E)-1,5-diarylpent-1-en-4-yn-3-ones afforded 1-aryl-3-(5-aryl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)prop-2-en-1-ones and 3-aryl-1-(5-aryl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-prop-2-en-1-ones, respectively. (E)-1-Aryl-3-(5-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)prop-2-en-1-ones reacted with hydrazine hydrate and phenylhydrazine to give 72–93% of 4-(3-aryl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-5-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazoles which underwent dehydrogenation on heating in boiling acetic acid with formation of the corresponding pyrazole derivatives. The molecular structures of (E)-3-phenyl-1-(5-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)prop-2-en-1-one and 4-[3-(4-methylphenyl)-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-5-yl]-5-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole were studied by X-ray analysis. 4-(3-Aryl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-5-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazoles showed toxicity against Daphnia magna.     

Synthesis of analogs of 5(4)-aminoimidazole-4(5)-carboxamide and purines. 7. 7-(β-d-ribofuranosyl)-4-methylthioimidazo[4,5-d]-1,2,3-triazine

The synthesis of 7-(-D-ribofuranosyl)-4-methylthioimidazo[4,5-d]-1,2,3-triazine, 7-methyl-4-methylthioimidazo[4,5-d]-1,2,3-triazine, and 5-methyl-4-methylthioimidazo [4,5-d]-1,2,3-triazine is described. Chemical and Electrochemical Synthesis,Structure, and Properties of Metal Chelates of Tridentate N,S-Containing Azomethinazo Ligands

Novel Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) complexes of 5-methyl-2-phenyl-4-[(4-phenylazo)anilinemethylylidene]- 2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazole-3-thione and 5-methyl-4-[4-methyl-2-(4-methylphenylazo)anilinemethylylidene]- 2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazole-3-thione, i.e. ligands containing the phenylazo group in the ortho and para positions of the aniline fragment, were synthesized by the chemical and electrochemical methods. The complexes and ligands were characterized by IR, ¹H NMR, X-ray absorption spectroscopy and magnetochemistry. The azo group of the ligands is not involved in coordination to the metal.     

Reactions of compounds containing dicoordinated phosphorus with isocyanates

Synthetic transformations of isoquinoline alkaloids. Synthesis of 1-halo derivatives of <Emphasis Type="Italic">endo</Emphasis>-ethenotetrahydrothebaine and their behavior in the heck reaction

Bromination of endo-ethenotetrahydrothebaine derivatives having a pyrrolidine ring fused at the C⁷-C⁸ bond, namely 1′-substituted 4,5α-epoxy-6α,14-etheno-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methyl-2′,5′,7β,8β-tetrahydro-1′H-14α-pyrrolo[3′,4′:7,8]morphinan-2′,5′-diones, 1′-aryl-4,5α-epoxy-6α,14-etheno-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methyl-2′,5′,7β,8β-tetrahydro-1′H-14α-pyrrolo[3′,4′:7,8]morphinans, and 4,5α-epoxy-6α,14-etheno-2′α-hydroxy-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methyl-1′-phenyl-2′,5′,7β,8β-tetrahydro-1′H-14α-pyrrolo[3′,4′:7,8]morpphinan-5′-one, with molecular bromine in formic acid smoothly afforded the corresponding 1-bromo derivatives. Iodination of 4,5α-epoxy-6α,14-etheno-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methyl-1′-phenyl-2′,5′,7β,8β-tetrahydro-1′H-14α-pyrrolo[3′,4′:7,8]-4,5α-epoxy-6α,14-etheno-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methyl-1′-phenyl-2′,5′,7β,8β-tetrahydro-1′H-14α-pyrrolo[3′,4′:7,8]-morphinan-2′,5′-dione with iodine(I) chloride gave 4,5α-epoxy-6α,14-etheno-1-iodo-3,6-dimethoxy-17-methyl-1′-phenyl-2′,5′,7β,8β-tetrahydro-1′H-14α-pyrrolo[3′,4′:7,8]morphinan-2′,5′-dione. The resulting 1-halo derivatives were brought into the Heck reaction with acrylic acid esters to obtain 1-[(E)-2-(alkoxycarbonyl)ethenyl]-substituted compounds. Demethylation of the 6-methoxy group in 1-bromo-endo-ethenotetrahydrothebaines was accomplished using boron(III) bromide in chloroform.     

Reaction of ethylene oxide with n-phenylated isomers of 1,2,4-triazoline-3-thione and 1-phenyltetrazoline-5-thione

It is demonstrated that ethylene oxide forms N--hydroxyethyl derivatives of the corresponding triazolin-3-ones in the reaction with 1-phenyl- and 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolin-3-thiones and with 3--hydroxyethylthio derivatives of 1-phenyl- and 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazole in acetic acid. 1-Phenyltetrazolin-5-thione reacts similarly with ethylene oxide. Oxidation of 1,3-Dioxacycloalkanes with Complexes of Potassium Chlorochromate and Chlorodiperoxochromate with 15-Crown-5, Catalyzed with 2,2,5,5-Tetramethyl- 4-phenyl-3-oxo-3λ5-imidazolin-1-yloxyl

2,2,5,5-Tetramethyl-4-phenyl-3-oxo-3⁵-imidazolin-1-yloxyl catalyzes oxidation of 2-isopropyl-1,3-dioxolane, 2-phenyl-1,3-dioxolane, 2-phenyl-4-chloromethyl-1,3-dioxolane, and 2-phenyl-1,3-dioxane with 15-crown-5 complexes of potassium chlorodiperoxochromate (KCrO₅Cl·2C₁₀H₂₀O₅) and potassium chlorochromate (KCrO₃Cl·2C₁₀H₂₀O₅). 2-Isopropyl-1,3-dioxolane is oxidized to the corresponding monoester in quantitative yield, and the 2-phenyl derivatives yield benzaldehyde. The spiro ketal, 2,2-pentamethylene-4-methyl-1,3-dioxane, is decomposed to cyclohexanone.     

Studies on the syntheses of azole derivatives. Part VII. Syntheses of 1 -phenyl-Δ2-1,2,4-triazolin-5-one derivatives [studies on the syntheses of heteroeyclic compounds. CD XI]

Bromination of 3-methyl-1-phenyl-Δ²-1,2,3-lriazolin-5-one (II) and its 4-phenyl derivative III afforded the corresponding I-(p-Bromophenyl) derivatives IV and V, respectively. (Chlorination of the 4-phenyl derivative III gave I-(P-chlorophenyl) derivative VI. In addition, 3-N-subsuituted-carhamoyl-1,2,4-triazolin-5-ones(XII, XIII, and XIV) were synthesized by the Schotten-Baumann reaction of 3-carboxy-1-phenyl-Δ²-1,2,4-triazolin-5-one (XI) with various amines.     

Substituted pyridines

5-Methyl-4-phenyl-2-styryipyridine has been oxidized to 5-methyl-4-phenylpyridinie-2-carboxylic acid. The decarboxylation of this acid has given 3-methyl-4-phenylpyrldine. To prove the structure of -(5-methyl-4-phenyl-2-pyridyl)acetophenone, it has been converted into 2, 5-dimethyl-4-phenylpyridine. The reaction of benzyl chloride with the lithium derivative of 2, 5-dimethyl-4-phenylpyridine has been studied. 3,7-Dimethyl-2-azafluorene has been obtained from 2,5-dimethyl-4-p-tolylpyridine.
