Precision measurements of the zenith-angle distributions of muons in the range 61°–89° are performed using the DECOR coordinate detector. The total number of selected events is more than 20 million. The dependence of the integrated muon intensity on the zenith angle is determined for several threshold energies in the range from 1.7 to 7.2. GeV. The experimental results in these ranges of zenith angles and threshold energies are obtained for the first time. It is demonstrated that the dependence of the integrated muon intensity on the zenith angle is adequately described by a simple analytical relationship.  相似文献

Results are presented on a measurement of the I = 3/2 Kπ elastic scattering cross section by applying the Chew-Low extrapolation method in the reaction K?p → K?π?Δ++at14.3GeV/c. The magnitude of σ(K?π? → K?π?) is found to be about 3 mb at threshold and slowly falling with energy to about 1.5 mb at 2.8 GeV. The off-mass-shell moments of the differential elastic cross section are given. The absolute value of δ30 is found to be increasing slowly from 0° to 20° between threshold and 1.2 GeV.  相似文献

Angular distribution of cosmic-ray muons at sea level has been investigated using the Geant4 simulation package. The model used in the simulations was tested by comparing the simulation results with the measurements made using the Berkeley Lab cosmic ray detector. Primary particles’ energy and fluxes were obtained from the experimental measurements. Simulations were run at each zenith angle starting from θ?=?0° up to θ?=?70° with 5° increment. The angular distribution of muons at sea level has been estimated to be in the form I(θ)?=?I(0°) cos n (θ), where I(0°) is the muon intensity at 0° and n is a function of the muon momentum. The exponent n?=?1.95±0.08 for muons with energies above 1 GeV is in good agreement, within error, with the values reported in the literature.  相似文献

The results obtained from an analysis of the 1974–1998 Yakutsk array data on muons with threshold energy E μ ≈ 1.0 × secθ GeV and on all charged particles (electrons and muons) in extensive air showers (EAS) are reported and compared with the results of calculations based on the model of quark-gluon strings with jets. For energies of E 0≤3×1018 eV and zenith angles of θ≤45°, the results of the model calculations are consistent with the measured properties of the showers, while, for higher energy EASs, there are considerable discrepancies, which are probably due to the change in the development of the shower cascade in the region E 0≥3×1018 eV.  相似文献

The lateral distribution of muons with the threshold E μ ≈ 1.0 secθ GeV (where θ is the zenith angle) in extensive air showers (EASs) with the energy E 0 ≈ 1017–19 eV in various observation periods from November 1987 to June 2013 has been analyzed. The experimental data have been compared to the calculations within various models of the development of EASs from the CORSIKA package. The experimental data are in the best agreement with the QGSJET II-04 model. The mass composition of cosmic rays with E 0 < 2 × 1018 eV before 1996 was much lighter than that in a later time interval.  相似文献

The tensor analyzing power T20(θ) in dp backward scattering has been measured at or near center-of-mass angle θ = 180° in the energy range 0.3–2.3 GeV. A pronounced structure is observed around Td = 0.5 GeV which is explained by a predominant one-neutron-exchange mechanism. Other structures appear around 1 GeV and higher. They are not explained by calculations which include Δ-excitations in intermediate states. In addition, full angular distributions of vector Ay and tensor Ayy analyzing powers and differential cross sections have been obtained at 1.2 GeV and limited angular ranges explored at 0.5 GeV (back angles) and 1.6 GeV (forward angles).  相似文献

The lateral distribution function of muons with the threshold E μ ≈ 0.5secθ GeV (θ is the zenith angle) in extensive air showers with energy E 0 ≥ 1017 eV has been examined using a new detector located at a distance of 180 m from the center of the Yakutsk array. This detector has been operating since autumn 2012 and consists of 27 autonomous scintillator counters with an area of 2 m2. The experimental data have been compared to the calculations within the QGSJET-01 model with the CORSIKA air shower simulator. Agreement between the experimental data and calculations is achieved for the mixed composition of cosmic rays with the average atomic number satisfying the condition 〈lnA〉 ≈ 2.84 ± 0.08.  相似文献

The spin correlation parameter Aookk in pp elastic scattering was measured using the SATURNE II polarized proton beam and the Saclay frozen spin polarized target. The measurements at 0.88 and 1.1 GeV were carried out in the angular region θCM from 28° to ⋍ 50° and complete our previous measurements from 45° to 90°. Above 1.1 GeV the measurements presented here cover both regions, extending from θCM = 28° (at the lower energies) or θCM = 18° (at the higher energies) to θCM > 90°. The shape of the angular distribution Aookk (pp) = f(θCM) changes considerably between in our energy region.  相似文献

The exclusive reaction pp→Λ°K+p has been studied at 0.1<?tpp<0.6 GeV2 and energies √s=45 GeV and 53 GeV at the CERN ISR. Diffractive excitation p→Λ°K+ occurs predominantly in the mass range M(Λ°K+)≈2.1 GeV and peaks at 1.7 GeV. The cross section for pp→Λ°K+p is 10±3μb for M(Λ°K+)<2.5 GeV, and the tpp dependence is exp (bt) with b=7.0±0.5 GeV?2.  相似文献

Inclusive cross sections of intermediate mass fragments from the reaction84Kr+197Au atE/A=35 MeV were measured over the range 8°≦Θ lab≦70° with a low detection threshold. A moving-source parameterization was used to fit the double-differential cross sections. The integrated cross section for fragment production exceeds the total reaction cross section thus indicating a large probability for multi-fragment processes. The deduced large temperature parameters can be explained by assuming emission from a rotating source. From the comparison to reactions with12C and40Ar projectiles at E/A=30 MeV a systematics of inclusive fragment production as a function of the projectile mass is obtained.  相似文献

New data on the production of protons, anti-protons and neutrons in p+p interactions are presented. The data come from a sample of 4.8 million inelastic events obtained with the NA49 detector at the CERN SPS at 158 GeV/c beam momentum. The charged baryons are identified by energy loss measurement in a large TPC tracking system. Neutrons are detected in a forward hadronic calorimeter. Inclusive invariant cross sections are obtained in intervals from 0 to 1.9 GeV/c (0 to 1.5 GeV/c) in transverse momentum and from ?0.05 to 0.95 (?0.05 to 0.4) in Feynman x for protons (anti-protons), respectively. p T integrated neutron cross sections are given in the interval from 0.1 to 0.9 in Feynman x. The data are compared to a wide sample of existing results in the SPS and ISR energy ranges as well as to proton and neutron measurements from HERA and RHIC.  相似文献

The integrated intensities of the multiplets P(1)–P(10), R(0)–R(9), and of the Q-branch in the 2ν3-band of 12CH4 have been measured at 102°K, 152°K, 202°K, 251°K, and 300°K. Comparison of our data with theoretical line strengths confirms, at all of the temperatures mentioned, the intensity anomalies observed by Margolis(5) for lines in this band. The integrated intensity of the 2ν3-band is found to be Sv = (1·76±-0·04)(300/T (°K)) cm?2 atm?1.  相似文献

The inclusive spectrum of positive particles has been measured at the ISR energy √s = 52.5 GeV as function of transverse momentum, pT for large pT values using the Split Field Magnet facility. The angular dependence of the distribution is observed and discussed in the range 9° ? θ1 ? 21°. An upper limit for the production of ? meson with pT ? 3 GeV/c is derived from the same sample of data.  相似文献

The inclusive production al all charged particles of transverse momentum pT between 1.5 and 4.4 GeV/c at centre of mass angles 90° and 59.4° from p-p-collisions with √s = 44 and 53 GeV has been measured. No strong energy dependence is observed for these transverse momenta.  相似文献

New results on the multihadron production by electron and positron beams colliding with a total energy of up to 3 GeV are reported. Disregarding possible kaon final states, the ratio σmh/σμμ of the total multihadron cross-section to the point-like cross section for process e+e?μ+μ? has an average value of 1.58 ± 0.25 in the energy interval 2.6–3.0 GeV. The average charged multiplicity over this energy range is 〈nc〉 = 2.9 ± 0.3.  相似文献

Premelting phenomena have been searched for in pure, perfect gallium crystals by using anomalous X-ray transmission. The temperature dependence of the integrated intensity under the Bragg peak does not reveal any deviations from its normal behaviour, i.e. an essentially linear increase of the mean square vibrational amplitude of the lattice atoms as a function of temperature between 10 °C and a temperature at least 10?4 °C close to the melting temperatureT m =29.75 °C. The temperature dependence of the integrated intensity of the 020-reflection can be described by a Debye temperatureΘ (020)=189±6 K. Premelting effects could not be detected.  相似文献

The energy dependence of the modulus and phase of the KL0-KS0 regeneration amplitude on hydrogen in the range of 14–50 GeV has been investigated at the Serpukhov 70 GeV accelerator.It has been established that the modulus of the modified regeneration amplitude decreases with increasing momentum as 2|?210(p)|/k = (0.84 ± 0.42) · p?0.50±0.15mb. The amplitude phase is energy-independent and its mean value is ?210 = ?132° ± 5°. The results obtained are compared with other experiments and with predictions of different theoretical models.  相似文献

We present data obtained at the ISR, on the determination of the ratio R = γπ0ats = 30.6 GeV and we compare the results with our previous measurement at s = 53.2 GeV. The ratio R =γπ0 integrated over the interval 0.1 ? χT ? 0.2 is (1.6 ± 0.5) × 10?2 and we obtain an indication of a universal χT dependence.  相似文献

Results are presented of a study of inclusive ηp and ηn interactions from threshold to 6 GeV. The data show a rapid approach to the distributions expected in the naive quark-parton model. The charged-current η deuteron total cross section is fit by the expression σT(ηd) = (0.76 ± 0.03) × 10?38Eη cm2 per GeV per nucleon. For Eη > 1.5 GeV, we measure σT(ηn)/σT(ηp) = (2.02 ± 0.23). Exclusive photodisintegration of the deuteron in the 1–4 GeV range is described in terms of a simple covariant and gauge invariant approach using an effective counting rule as the hard part of the d–np vertex. At a scattering angle of θcm=90° a prescaling behavior of the differential cross section ∝s−(n−2) with n≈12 is obtained; going away from 90° the value of n decreases slowly, in qualitative agreement with the recent data.  相似文献
