Summary A new preconcentration and voltammetric determination method for cobalt(II) in aqueous solution with a chemically modified electrode is proposed. The accumulation behaviour and voltammetry of cobalt(II) has been investigated with a carbon paste electrode modified with cationexchanger and 1,10-phenanthroline. The electrochemical response is characterized with respect to carbon paste composition, pH, preconcentration time, cobalt(II) concentration and other variables. For a 3-min preconcentration time, the electrode gives good linearity for 1×10–7 to 4×10–6 mol/l Co(II), a detection limit of 8×10–8 mol/l. The response can be reproduced with a 4.0% relative standard deviation. The method is fairly free from many coexisting ions interferences. A rapid and convenient renewal procedure allows the use of a single electrode in multiple analytical determinations over several days. Satisfactory results are obtained for the determination of cobalt in a variety of certified standard reference materials.  相似文献

A new procedure was elaborated to determine mercury(II) using an anodic stripping square-wave voltammetry at the antimony film carbon paste electrode (SbF-CPE). In highly acidic medium of 1 M hydrochloric acid, voltammetric measurements can be realized in a wide potential window. Presence of cadmium(II) allows to separate peaks of Hg(II) and Sb(III) and apparently catalyses reoxidation of electrolytically accumulated mercury, thus allowing its determination at ppb levels. Calibration dependence was linear up to 100 ppb Hg with a detection limit of 1.3 ppb. Applicability of the method was tested on the real river water sample.  相似文献

A catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetric method for the determination of copper(II) on a carbon paste electrode (PCE) in an alizarin red S (ARS)-K2S2O8 system is proposed. In this method, copper(II) is effectively enriched by both the formation and adsorption of a copper(II)-ARS complex on the PCE, and is determined by catalytic stripping voltammetry. The catalytic enhancement of the cathodic stripping current of the Cu(II) in the complex results from a redox cycle consisting of electrochemical reduction of Cu(II) ion in the complex and subsequent chemical oxidation of the Cu(II) reduction product by persulfate, which reduces the contamination of the working electrode from Cu deposition and also improves analytical sensitivity. In Britton-Robinson buffer (pH 4.56±0.1) containing 3.6×10−5 mol L−1 ARS and 1.6×10−3 mol L−1 K2S2O8, with 180 s of accumulation at −0.2 V, the second-order derivative peak current of the catalytic stripping wave was proportional to the copper(II) concentration in the range of 8.0×10−10 to ∼3.0×10−8 mol L−1. The detection limit was 1.6×10−10 mol L−1. The proposed method was evaluated by analyzing copper in water and soil.  相似文献

A simple and fast voltammetric method based on a new electrode composed of carbon paste electrode/bifunctional hybrid ion imprinted polymer (CPE/IIP) was developed for the quantification of Cd2+ in water samples. The voltammetric measurements by Differential Pulse Voltammetry were performed by using CPE containing 11.0 mg of IIP under phosphate buffer solution at concentration 0.1 mol L?1 and pH 6.5. The electrochemical method was carried out by Cd2+ preconcentration at ?1.2 V during 210 s, followed by anodic stripping. The performance of IIP towards Cd2+ determination was evaluated by comparison to non-imprinted polymer, whose detectability of IIP was much higher (45%). The sensitivity of the sensor was found to be 0.0105 µA/µg L?1. The limits of detection and limits of quantification were found to be 4.95 μg L?1 and 16.4 μg L?1, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied to Cd2+ determination in mineral, tap and lake water samples, whose results are in agreement with thermospray flame furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (TS-FF-AAS) used as reference analytical technique. According to achieved results, the developed method can be used for routine analysis of quality control of water samples from different sources.  相似文献

Summary The determination of aniline by means of a carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with 10% sepiolite was studied using differential pulse voltammetry. The best pre-concentration was achieved at pH 6.9 over 5 min and the besti p in the measuring cell was obtained at pH 1.5 using E = 100 mV and a scan rate of 40 mV/s.Under these conditions detection limits (10 ) of 15 ng/ ml were obtained. The method was applied to different beverages without the need for prior separation.

A method is described for the voltammetric determination of titanium(IV) using a carbon paste electrode modified in situ with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The cationic micellar surfactant adsorbs onto the electrode particularly at negative potentials, simultaneously preconcentrating titanium(IV) as the oxalate complex with reduction to titanium(III). Anodic stripping voltammetry exploiting reoxidation can be used for the determination of trace levels of titanium(IV). Linearity between current and concentration exists between 5 and 160 mug l(-1) Ti(IV) (preconcentration time 2 min). The limit of detection (calculated as 3sigma) is 0.1 mug l(-1), with a preconcentration time of 10 min.  相似文献

A carbon paste electrode (CPE) was modified with multi-wall carbon nanotubes and successfully applied to the determination of silver ion by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. Compared to a conventional CPE, a remarkably improved peak current response and sensitivity is observed. The analytical procedure consisted of an open circuit accumulation step for 2?min in ?0.4?V, this followed by an anodic potential scan between +0.2 and?+?0.6?V to obtain the voltammetric peak. The oxidation peak current is proportional to the concentration of silver ion in the range from 1.0?×?10?8 to 1.0?×?10?5?mol?L?1, with a detection limit of 1.8?×?10?9?mol?L?1 after an accumulation time of 120?s. The relative standard deviation for 7 successive determinations of Ag(I) at 0.1???M concentration is 1.99%. The procedure was validated by determining Ag(I) in natural waters.

We have synthesized cadmium(II) ion-imprinted polymers (IIP) and non-imprinted polymers (NIP) using 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol as a ligand. The materials were used to prepare a carbon paste electrode for the determination of Cd(II). Polymerization was performed with (a) methacrylic acid as a functional monomer, (b) ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate as the crosslinking monomer, and (c) 2,2′-azobis(isobutyronitrile) as the initiator. Imprinted cadmium ion was removed from the polymeric matrix using nitric acid. The measurements were carried out in an closed circuit after accumulation at ?1.2?V, this followed by electrolysis of the accumulated Cd(II) by voltammetric scanning from ?1.0 to ?0.6?V. The parameters governing the response of the electrode were studied. Under optimized conditions, the response of the electrode is linear in the range from 2.0 to 200?ng?mL?1. The detection limit is 0.31?ng?mL?1. The relative standard deviations are ±3.4 and ±2.1?% for 7 successive determinations of 20.0 and 50.0?ng?mL-1 of Cd(II), respectively. The method was applied to the determination of cadmium (II) in water and food samples.

In this contribution, a novel method is described for the determination of platinum metals. The procedure developed employs a carbon paste electrode modified in situ with cationic surfactants of the quaternary ammonium salt type. The pre-concentration step is based on a specific accumulation mechanism involving ion-pair formation; the detection being performed by cathodic scanning in the differential pulse voltammetric mode. Regarding the individual forms of platinum metals, the method has been found convenient for the determination of three heavy platinum metals in the form of Pt(IV), Ir(III) and Os(IV), whereas for the remaining elements (Ru, Rh, and Pd) was almost inapplicable. Platinum metals of the former group can be pre-concentrated in chloride-containing supporting media via PtCl62−, IrCl63− and OsCl62− complex anions, the central atom of each species being fairly reducible during the voltammetric scan. Stripping signals for both platinum and iridium were proportional to the concentration in a range of 1-10 × 10−6 M Pt(IV) and Ir(III); the response for osmium being linear within 0.1-6 × 10−7 M Os(IV) with a detection limit of about 5 × 10−9 mol l−1. During optimisation, special attention was paid to the accumulation mechanism, choice of key experimental conditions, and to interference effects from foreign ions with potentially ion-pairing capabilities (AuCl4, TlCl4, CrO42−, MnO4, SCN, and I). The method elaborated has been tested on both model solutions and real samples of industrial waste water, showing in both cases satisfactory analytical performance.  相似文献

The clay mineral montmorillonite has been tested as modifier for the carbon paste electrode with a novel electrode modification technique. The differential pulse voltammetric determination of copper(II) by means of this modified carbon paste electrode has been studied. A detection limit of 4x10(-8) mol/l has been achieved after 10 min preconcentration under open circuit conditions with subsequent anodic stripping voltammetry. The calibration curve for Cu(II) is linear in the range of 4x10(-8)-8x10(-7) mol/l. Pb interferes in a 10-fold molar and Cd and Hg in a 100-fold molar excess. The interference by humic ligands is significant.  相似文献

We report on a carbon paste electrode that was modified with a binuclear manganese(II) complex by the drop-coating method. A study on the mechanism of the electro-oxidation of tryptophan (Trp) at this electrode indicated that it enables Trp to be determined with good sensitivity and selectivity. Second-order derivative linear sweep voltammetry at pH 4.1 revealed that a sensitive anodic peak appears at 812?mV (vs. SCE) whose current is proportional to the concentration of Trp in the concentration range from 0.1 to 1.0???mol?L?1 and 1.0 to 80???mol?L?1, with a detection limit (S/N?=?3) of 0.08???mol?L?1 (60?s of accumulation). The method was applied to the determination of Trp in amino acid injection solutions with satisfactory results.

The utility of carbon paste electrode modified with DTPT (3,4-dihydro-4,4,6-trimethyl-2(1H)-pyrimidine thione) for the potentiometric determination of Cu(II) in aqueous medium is demonstrated. The electrode exhibits linear response to Cu(II) over a wide concentration range (9.77x10(-7)-7.6x10(-2)) with Nernstian slope of 30+/-2 mV per decade. It has a response time of about 45 s and can be used for a period of two months with good reproducibility. The detection limit of this electrode was 7.0x10(-7) M. The proposed electrode shows a very good selectivity for Cu(II) over a wide variety of metal ions. This chemically modified carbon paste electrode was successfully used for the determination of Cu(II) in electronics waste sample solution.  相似文献

A chemically modified carbon paste electrode with 3,4-tetra pyridinoporphirazinatocobalt(II) (Co(3,4 tppa) was applied to the determination of free cyanide ion. The electrode has a linear range between 1.5 × 10−5 M and 1.0 × 10−2 M with a Nernstian slope of 60 ± 1.5 mV/decade and its detection limit is 9 × 10−6 M. The response time of electrode is 5 min. The proposed electrode was applied successfully for the determination of cyanide in commercially available spring water. Some anions, such as SCN, I, Cl, Br and oxalate that are usually serious interfering species for most of cyanide selective electrodes, did not have any interfering effect for this proposed electrode.  相似文献

An ionic liquid modified carbon paste electrode (IL/CPE) had been fabricated by using hydrophilic ionic liquid 1-amyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([AMIM]Br) as a modifier. The IL/CPE was characterized by scanning electron microscope and voltammetry. Electrochemical behavior of rutin at the IL/CPE had been investigated in pH 3.29 Britton-Robinson (B-R) buffer solution by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV). The experimental results suggested that the modified electrode exhibited an electrocatalytic activity toward the redox of rutin. The electron transfer coefficient (α) and the standard rate constant (ks) of rutin at the modified electrode were calculated. Under the selected conditions, the reduction peak current was linearly dependent on the concentration of rutin in the range of 4.0 × 10−8 to 1.0 × 10−5 mol L−1 (r = 0.9998), with a detection limit of 1.0 × 10−8 mol L−1 (S/N = 3). The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) for six times successful determination of 8.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 rutin was 1.2%. The proposed method was applied to determine rutin in tablet and urine sample. In addition, the IL/CPE exhibited a distinct advantage of simple preparation, surface renewal, good reproducibility and good stability.  相似文献

In this study, cyclic and differential pulse voltammetric methods were used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of diazinon at carbon paste electrode modified with tris(ethylenediamine) cobalt(II) iodide ([Co(en)3]I2). Cobalt complex showed an anodic peak at 620 mV (vs. Ag/AgCl, in KNO3 0.1 M as supporting electrolyte) at carbon paste modified electrode. In the presence of diazinon, anodic peak intensity increased with increasing concentration of diazinon that confirmed electrocatalytic activity of cobalt complex for oxidation of diazinon (EC’ mechanism). Under optimized conditions, a linear calibration curve for diazinon was obtained in the range from 0.05 to 27 mg/L with detection limit 0.0075 mg/L (3S b /m). Applications of the modified electrode to the determination of diazinon in different water samples were also tested. The results showed a very good precision (RSD < 0.04%) and very stable voltammetric response towards diazinon.  相似文献

A chemically modified carbon paste electrode was prepared by incorporating appropriate amounts of sodium humate(NaA). Palladium(II) was selectively accumulated in a solution of Britton-Robinson(B-R) buffer (pH 2.8) onto the electrode surface in open circuit mode. The subsequent electrochemical measurement was carried out by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep anodic stripping voltammetry (LSASV) in a supporting electrolyte of 1.0 M HCl. The obtained oxidation currents (Ipa1 and Lpa2) were proportional to the Pd(II) concentration in the range of 4.7 × 10–6 - 9.4 × 10–8 M. The developed method was applied to the quantitative determination of palladium in real samples.  相似文献
