Let : M N be a harmonic morphism from a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold M with nonnegative Ricci curvature to a complete Riemannian manifold N with nonpositive scalar curvature. We show if the energy of is finite, then is constant. This can be compared with a similar result for harmonic maps when N has nonpositive sectional curvature due to Schoen and Yau.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize to p-harmonic mapssome gap results known for harmonic maps. In particular, we prove that,under a certain level of energy depending on the curvature of the domainand target manifolds, the only p-harmonic maps are theconstant ones. We prove firstly the classification theorem for p-harmonic morphisms between Euclidean domains. Secondly, we show that if is a p-harmonic morphism (p ≥ 2) from a complete Riemannian manifold M of nonnegative Ricci curvature into a Riemannian manifold N of non-positive scalar curvature such that the L q -energy is finite, then is constant, which improve the corresponding result due to G. In this paper, we investigate the minimality of the map from the Euclidean unit ball Bn to its boundary 핊n−1 for weighted energy functionals of the type Ep,f = ∫Bn f(r)‖∇ up dx, where f is a non-negative function. We prove that in each of the two following cases:
i)  p = 1 and f is non-decreasing,
ii)  p is integer, pn−1 and f = rα with α ≥ 0, the map minimizes Ep,f among the maps in W1,p(Bn, 핊n−1) which coincide with on ∂ Bn. We also study the case where f(r) = rα with −n+2 < α < 0 and prove that does not minimize Ep,f for α close to −n+2 and when n ≥ 6, for α close to 4−n.

In this paper, we describe the behavior of bounded energy finite solutions for certain nonlinear elliptic operators on a complete Riemannian manifold in terms of its p-harmonic boundary. We also prove that if two complete Riemannian manifolds are roughly isometric to each other, then their p-harmonic boundaries are homeomorphic to each other. In the case, there is a one to one correspondence between the sets of bounded energy finite solutions on such manifolds. In particular, in the case of the Laplacian, it becomes a linear isomorphism between the spaces of bounded harmonic functions with finite Dirichlet integral on the manifolds. In this paper, we study the minimality of the map for the weighted energy functional , where is a continuous function. We prove that for any integer and any non-negative, non-decreasing continuous function f, the map minimizes E f,p among the maps in which coincide with on . The case p = 1 has been already studied in [Bourgoin J.-C. Calc. Var. (to appear)]. Then, we extend results of Hong (see Ann. Inst. Poincaré Anal. Non-linéaire 17: 35–46 (2000)). Indeed, under the same assumptions for the function f, we prove that in dimension n ≥  7 for any real with , the map minimizes E f,p among the maps in which coincide with on .   相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the partial regularity for the weak solutions of energy minimizing p-harmonic maps under the controllable growth condition. We get the interior partial regularity by the p-harmonic approximation method together with the technique used to get the decay estimation on some Degenerate elliptic equations and the obstacle problem by Tan and Yan. In particular, we directly get the optimal regularity. We establish a scale-invariant version of the boundary Harnack principle for p-harmonic functions in Euclidean C 1,1-domains and obtain estimates for the decay rates of positive p-harmonic functions vanishing on a segment of the boundary in terms of the distance to the boundary. We use these estimates to study the behavior of conformal Martin kernel functions and positive p-superharmonic functions near the boundary of the domain. H. For a morphism of quadratic extensions of antistructures, groups similar to the groups of obstructions to splitting along one-sided submanifolds are defined. Let p be a prime divisor of the order of a finite group G. Thompson (1970, J. Algebra14, 129–134) has proved the following remarkable result: a finite group G is p-nilpotent if the degrees of all its nonlinear irreducible characters are divisible by p (in fact, in that case G is solvable). In this note, we prove that a group G, having only one nonlinear irreducible character of p′-degree is a cyclic extension of Thompson's group. This result is a consequence of the following theorem: A nonabelian simple group possesses two nonlinear irreducible characters χ1 and χ2 of distinct degrees such that p does not divide χ1(1)χ2(1) (here p is arbitrary but fixed). Our proof depends on the classification of finite simple groups. Some properties of solvable groups possessing exactly two nonlinear irreducible characters of p′-degree are proved.
