In this paper, by using an analogue of theorems of Iwasawa (Kenkichi Iwasawa Collected Papers, vol. 2, Springer, Berlin, 2001, pp. 862-870) we give a sufficient condition for Leopoldt's conjecture (J. Reine Angew. Math. 209 (1962) 54) on the non-vanishing of the p-adic regulator of an algebraic number field. Using this sufficient condition we are able to prove Leopoldt's conjecture for several non-Galois extensions over the rational number field Q.  相似文献

We solve the Cauchy problems for p-adic linear and semi-linear evolutionary pseudo-differential equations (the time-variable tR and the space-variable ). Among the equations under consideration there are the heat type equation and the Schrödinger type equations (linear and nonlinear). To solve these problems, we develop the “variable separation method” (an analog of the classical Fourier method) which reduces solving evolutionary pseudo-differential equations to solving ordinary differential equations with respect to real variable t. The problem of stabilization for solutions of the Cauchy problems as t→∞ is also studied. These results give significant advance in the theory of p-adic pseudo-differential equations and can be used in applications.  相似文献

This article aims at showing a p-adic analogue of Selberg's trace formula, which describes a duality between the spectrum of a Hilbert-Schmidt operator and the length of prime geodesics appearing in the p-adic upper half-plane associated with a hyperbolic discontinuous subgroup of . Then we construct Markov processes on the fundamental domain relative to such subgroups, to whose transition operators the trace formula applied and a p-adic analogue of prime geodesic theorem is proved.  相似文献

In the p-adic vector space , we characterize those non-negative functions ψ defined on for which the weighted Hardy-Littlewood average is bounded on (1?r?∞), and on . Also, in each case, we find the corresponding operator norm ‖Uψ‖.  相似文献

In this paper, some classes much more general than the one in [N.M. Chuong, Yu.V. Egorov, A. Khrennikov, Y. Meyer, D. Mumford (Eds.), Harmonic, Wavelet and p-Adic Analysis, World Scientific, Singapore, 2007] of Cauchy problems for an interesting class of pseudodifferential equations over p-adic fields are studied. The used functions belong to mixed classes of real and p-adic functions. Even for p-adic partial differential equations such problems in such function spaces have not been discussed yet. The established mathematical foundation requires very complicated and very difficult proofs. Days after days, these equations occur increasingly in mathematical physics, quantum mechanics. Explicit solutions of such problems are very needed for specialists on applied mathematics, physics, and engineering.  相似文献

We define p-adic multiple zeta and log gamma functions using multiple Volkenborn integrals, and develop some of their properties. Although our functions are close analogues of classical Barnes multiple zeta and log gamma functions and have many properties similar to them, we find that our p-adic analogues also satisfy reflection functional equations which have no analogues to the complex case. We conclude with a Laurent series expansion of the p-adic multiple log gamma function for (p-adically) large x which agrees exactly with Barnes?s asymptotic expansion for the (complex) multiple log gamma function, with the fortunate exception that the error term vanishes. Indeed, it was the possibility of such an expansion which served as the motivation for our functions, since we can use these expansions computationally to p-adically investigate conjectures of Gross, Kashio, and Yoshida over totally real number fields.

We prove a p-adic version of the Lion?CRolin preparation theorem. As a consequence, we obtain a cell decomposition theorem, which can be viewed as an extension of Denef??s cell decomposition theorem to the p-adic analytic case. Using these theorems, we give shorter and more explicit proofs of some of the results by Denef and van den Dries on p-adic subanalytic sets.  相似文献

For every prime p and every monic polynomial f, invertible over p, we define a group G p, f of p-adic automorphisms of the p-ary rooted tree. The groups are modeled after the first Grigorchuk group, which in this setting is the group . We show that the constructed groups are self-similar, regular branch groups. This enables us to calculate the Hausdorff dimension of their closures, providing concrete examples (not using random methods) of topologically finitely generated closed subgroups of the group of p-adic automorphisms with Hausdorff dimension arbitrarily close to 1. We provide a characterization of finitely constrained groups in terms of the branching property, and as a corollary conclude that all defined groups are finitely constrained. In addition, we show that all infinite, finitely constrained groups of p-adic automorphisms have positive and rational Hausdorff dimension and we provide a general formula for Hausdorff dimension of finitely constrained groups. Further “finiteness” properties are also discussed (amenability, torsion and intermediate growth). Partially supported by NSF grant DMS-0600975.  相似文献

We introduce the p-adic analogue of Arakelov intersection theory on arithmetic surfaces. The intersection pairing in an extension of the p-adic height pairing for divisors of degree 0 in the form described by Coleman and Gross. It also uses Coleman integration and is related to work of Colmez on p-adic Green functions. We introduce the p-adic version of a metrized line bundle and define the metric on the determinant of its cohomology in the style of Faltings. We also prove analogues of the Adjunction formula and the Riemann-Roch formula.  相似文献

We study a reduct ${\mathcal{L}_*}$ of the ring language where multiplication is restricted to a neighbourhood of zero. The language is chosen such that for p-adically closed fields K, the ${\mathcal{L}_*}$ -definable subsets of K coincide with the semi-algebraic subsets of K. Hence structures (K, ${\mathcal{L}_*}$ ) can be seen as the p-adic counterpart of the o-minimal structure of semibounded sets. We show that in this language, p-adically closed fields admit cell decomposition, using cells similar to p-adic semi-algebraic cells. From this we can derive quantifier-elimination, and give a characterization of definable functions. In particular, we conclude that multiplication can only be defined on bounded sets, and we consider the existence of definable Skolem functions.  相似文献

We use a method of Buzzard to study p-adic families of Hilbert modular forms and modular forms over imaginary quadratic fields. In the case of Hilbert modular forms, we get local constancy of dimensions of spaces of fixed slope and varying weight. For imaginary quadratic fields we obtain bounds independent of the weight on the dimensions of such spaces.  相似文献

Given a projective variety X defined over a finite field, the zeta function of divisors attempts to count all irreducible, codimension one subvarieties of X, each measured by their projective degree. When the dimension of X is greater than one, this is a purely p-adic function, convergent on the open unit disk. Four conjectures are expected to hold, the first of which is p-adic meromorphic continuation to all of Cp. When the divisor class group (divisors modulo linear equivalence) of X has rank one, then all four conjectures are known to be true. In this paper, we discuss the higher rank case. In particular, we prove a p-adic meromorphic continuation theorem which applies to a large class of varieties. Examples of such varieties are projective nonsingular surfaces defined over a finite field (whose effective monoid is finitely generated) and all projective toric varieties (smooth or singular).  相似文献

We use the Pieri and Giambelli formulas of Buch et al. (Invent Math 178:345–405, 2009; J Reine Angew, 2013) and the calculus of raising operators developed in Buch et al. (A Giambelli formula for isotropic Grassmannians, arXiv:0811.2781, 2008) and Tamvakis (J Reine Angew Math 652, 207–244, 2011) to prove a tableau formula for the eta polynomials of Buch et al. (J Reine Angew, 2013) and the Stanley symmetric functions which correspond to Grassmannian elements of the Weyl group $\widetilde{W}_n$ of type $\text {D}_n$ . We define the skew elements of $\widetilde{W}_n$ and exhibit a bijection between the set of reduced words for any skew $w\in \widetilde{W}_n$ and a set of certain standard typed tableaux on a skew shape $\lambda /\mu $ associated to $w$ .  相似文献

In this paper, using the properties of the moments of p-adic measures, we establish some identities and Kummer likewise congruences concerning Euler numbers and polynomials. In the preliminaries, we introduce the Laplace transform which is an important tool for the determination of the moments of p-adic measures. We also give a sequence n(dn) linked to Euler numbers and which satisfies the same type of congruences and identities as the Euler numbers. At the end, for p=2, we give congruences on Euler numbers involving the sequence n(dn).  相似文献

We prove a conjecture of Denef on parameterized -adic analytic integrals using an analytic cell decomposition theorem, which we also prove in this paper. This cell decomposition theorem describes piecewise the valuation of analytic functions (and more generally of subanalytic functions), the pieces being geometrically simple sets, called cells. We also classify subanalytic sets up to subanalytic bijection.
