An optical technique has been used for visualizing Lamb waves in transparent plates, that exploits the change of polarization induced on the diffracted light by the shear strain field produced by the acoustic perturbation. Stationary Lamb waves in fused silica samples have been analyzed and simple reasoning permitted to determine which specific mode was excited.  相似文献

The propagation and acousto-optic interaction of Lamb modes in an anisotropic plate of tellurium dioxide (TeO2) are studied numerically and analytically. In the case of a Y-cut X-propagating TeO2 plate, the very high elastic anisotropy of the crystal greatly modifies the dispersion curves, giving rise to their multiple oscillations. The existence ranges of backward Lamb modes increase with the mode order contrary to the case of isotropic plates. The quasi-collinear light scattering by Lamb waves is considered. Owing to the structure of Lamb wave field, a simultaneous light diffraction at two different optical frequencies can take place while Lamb waves are excited only at the single frequency. It is demonstrated with the Z-cut (110)-propagating plate that a small change in the acoustic frequency can result in a significant shift in the frequency of the scattered light.  相似文献

The physical process of cumulative second-harmonic generation of Lamb waves propagating in a two-layered solid plate is presented by using the second-order perturbation and the technique of nonlinear reflection of acoustic waves at an interface. In general, the cumulative second-harmonic generation of a dispersive guided wave propagation does not occur. However, the present paper shows that the second-harmonic of Lamb wave propagation arising from the nonlinear interaction of the partial bulk acoustic waves and the restriction of the three boundaries of the solid plates does have a cumulative growth effect if some conditions are satisfied. Through boundary condition and initial condition of excitation, the analytical expression of cumulative second-harmonic of Lamb waves propagation is determined. Numerical results show the cumulative effect of Lamb waves on second-harmonic field patterns.  相似文献

对兰姆波非线性效应进行了实验观察。首先,对实验所采用的Ritec系统进行了介绍,尤其对实验系统的声学部分进行了详细考虑,特别是对二次谐波的时域响应进行了简洁直观的分析。根据兰姆波具有强烈非线性效应的条件,采用斜劈换能器发射和接收兰姆波。改变发射与接收斜劈换能器的间距,对一定频率范围内的兰姆波及二次谐波在固体板表面的振幅进行了测量。在基频与二倍频兰姆波相速度相等所对应的频率附近,分析了二次谐波振幅随传播距离的定量关系,从实验上证实了二次谐波在传播过程中具有积累增长效应的结论。  相似文献

兰姆波在声子晶体薄板中的传播特性因其在无损检测、 减振技术和传感器件等领域的潜在应用价值而受到越来越多的关注. 本文采用超原胞平面波展开法和有限元法系统地研究了复合对称结构声子晶体薄板中的兰姆波超宽部分禁带. 结果表明: 对于在薄板侧面对称地嵌入双层矩形空气柱构成的复杂系统, 低阶兰姆波部分带隙结构极为丰富. 将晶格常数(L)和板厚(H) 比值具有匹配关系的兰姆波声子晶体衔接构成复合结构, 低阶兰姆波部分禁带宽度因各组分结构的部分禁带交叠而得到显著拓宽, 可在低频超宽频带内实现对特定低阶兰姆波模式良好的模式选择功能. 该研究结果对兰姆波缺陷无损检测中模式优化选择及兰姆波单向导通器件设计等方面具有重要意义.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a modal expansion approach for the analysis of the selective generation of ultrasonic Lamb waves by electromagnetic acoustic transducers(EMATs). With the modal expansion approach for waveguide excitation, an analytical expression of the Lamb wave's mode expansion coefficient is deduced, which is related to the driving frequency and the geometrical parameters of the EMAT's meander coil, and lays a theoretical foundation for exactly analyzing the selective generation of Lamb waves with EMATs. The influences of the driving frequency on the mode expansion coefficient of ultrasonic Lamb waves are analyzed when the EMAT's geometrical parameters are given. The numerical simulations and experimental examinations show that the ultrasonic Lamb wave modes can be effectively regulated(strengthened or restrained) by choosing an appropriate driving frequency of EMAT, with the geometrical parameters given. This result provides a theoretical and experimental basis for selectively generating a single and pure Lamb wave mode with EMATs.  相似文献

Lamb waves at the fundamental, and of higher orders, can be excited with sufficient intensity for lamination detection in thick plates if large-area probes and long acoustic pulses are used. The influence of liquid layers on the propagation of Lamb waves in a plate of finite thickness is studied theoretically. The dispersion equations of Lamb waves in a plate bordered with layers of liquids are derived. Numerical solutions of the equations show that the phase velocity of Lamb waves changes with the thickness of the liquid layers. For the lowest antisymmetrical mode of very thin plates, the numerical results calculated from the dispersion equations are compared with those derived from the bending wave acoustic impedance approach. The limitation of the latter is discussed. Applications of Lamb waves pertinent to biosensing are also presented.  相似文献

提出一种用于研究电磁超声换能器(EM.AT)激发超声兰姆波的模式展开分析方法。从EMAT曲折线圈的电流分布出发,推导出铝板表面洛伦兹切向应力的形式解;对其进行空间傅里叶变换,得到激发超声兰姆波的表面驱动应力之波数谱密度。在此基础上采用导波激发的模式展开分析方法,推导出与EMAT线圈的几何参数密切相关的兰姆波模式展开系数的数学表达式,为严格分析EMAT的兰姆波激发问题奠定了理论基础。数值分析结果表明,通过改变EMAT线圈的几何参数,可对兰姆波的模式展开系数进行适当调整,从而实现有效抑制不需要兰姆波模式的目的,这一结果为采用EMAT激发纯度高的单一兰姆波模式提供了理论依据。  相似文献

A modal expansion approach has been proposed for investigating generation of ultrasonic Lamb waves by electromagnetic acoustic transducers(EMATs).Based on the current distribution of the EMAT's meandering coil,the formal solution for the Lorentz surface stress applied on the plate surface has been derived.Then the function of the wave-number spectral density of the Lorentz surface stress for generating ultrasonic Lamb waves has been obtained using the spatial Fourier transform.On this basis,with the modal expansion approach for waveguide excitation,the mathematical expression of the Lamb wave's mode expansion coefficient has been deduced,which is closely related with the geometrical parameters of the EMAT's meandering coil.The mathematical relationship between the Lamb wave's mode expansion coefficient and the EMAT's geometrical parameters,obtained in this paper,lays a theoretical foundation for exactly analyzing generation of Lamb waves by EMATs.Further,the numerical analyses performed indicate that the Lamb wave's mode expansion coefficient can be appropriately adjusted by changing the geometrical parameters of the EMAT's coil,and thus the unwanted Lamb wave modes can be effectively restrained.This result provides a theoretical basis for generating a single and pure Lamb wave mode by the meandering coil EMAT.  相似文献

从超声兰姆波的声场方程出发,得到板材表面离面位移(法向位移)为零的条件,即当超声兰姆波的相速度等于板材介质的纵波声速时,在板材表面的离面位移为零。在给定适当频厚积的条件下,分别数值模拟了仅有切向位移而无离面位移的A1、S1、A2和S2兰姆波模式在有液体负载的单层钢板中的传播情形。结果表明:离面位移为零的S2模式频散较小且对板中缺陷更为敏感。  相似文献

低阻抗水泥固井质量检测是油气田生产亟需解决的问题。套管中传播的最低阶泄漏弯曲型Lamb波(以下简称为A0弯曲型Lamb波)对套管后介质尤其是低阻抗水泥的声学参数和胶结状况具有很高的敏感性。通过建立多层介质模型,从理论上计算了其频散和衰减与套管后介质属性及水泥环第Ⅰ界面胶结状况的关系,并数值模拟了有限尺寸定向辐射探头激发和接收的全波波形。结果表明,在套管后耦合慢速水泥时,A0弯曲型Lamb波的频散曲线存在断点,曲线分为两个分支;A0弯曲型Lamb波的衰减在套管后耦合慢速水泥时最大并且对水泥环第Ⅰ界面胶结差时流体环厚度有很高的灵敏度,利用其衰减可以实现对套管后介质类型、水泥环第Ⅰ界面胶结状况及窜槽厚度的有效判别。  相似文献

The propagation of non-axisymmetric guided waves in larger diameter pipes is studied in this paper by treating the guided waves as corresponding Lamb waves in an unwrapped plate. This approximation leads to a simpler method for calculating the phase velocities of hollow cylinder guided waves, which reveals a beam focusing nature of non-axisymmetric guided waves generated by a partial source loading. The acoustic fields in a pipe generated by a partial-loading source includes axisymmetric longitudinal modes as well as non-axisymmetric flexural modes. The circumferential distribution of the total acoustic field, also referred as an angular profile, diverges circumferentially while guided waves propagate with dependence on such factors as mode, frequency, cylinder size, propagation distance, etc. Exact prediction of the angular profile of the total field can only be realized by numerical calculations. In particular cases, however, when the wall thickness is far less than the cylinder diameter and the wavelength is smaller than or comparable to the pipe wall thickness, the acoustic field can be analyzed based on the characteristics of Lamb waves that travel along a periodic unwrapped plate. Based on this assumption, a simplified model is derived to calculate the phase velocities of non-axisymmetric flexural mode guided waves. The model is then applied to discussions on some particular characteristics of guided-wave angular profiles generated by a source loading. Some features of flexural modes, such as cutoff frequency values are predicted with the simpler model. The relationship between the angular profiles and other factors such as frequency, propagation distance, and cylinder size is obtained and presented in simple equations. The angular profile rate of change with respect to propagation distance is investigated. In particular, our simplified model for non-axisymmetric guided waves predicts that the wave beam will converge to its original circumferential shape after the wave propagates for a certain distance. A concept of "natural focal point" is introduced and a simple equation is derived to compute the 1st natural focal distance of non-axisymmetric guided waves. The applicable range of the simplified equation is provided. Industrial pipes meet the requirement of wall thickness being far less than the pipe diameter. The approximate analytical algorithms presented in this paper provides a convenient method enabling quick acoustic field analysis on large-diameter industrial pipes for NDE applications.  相似文献

An analysis is done of the crossing of a forbidden region in a thin plate by a backward propagating Lamb wave: the refraction/reflection effects undergone by the coupled modes produced at each boundary of the forbidden region are taken into consideration, as well as the penetration of the backward wave as an evanescent wave. The outcome of the acoustic perturbation is analysed for a few angles of incidence and experiments are performed that confirm the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

Two methods have been always used to calculate the electromechanical coupling coefficient of a Lamb wave in a multilayered plate: one is an approximate method using the acoustic velocity difference under different electric boundary conditions and the other is the Green's function method. The Green's function method is more accurate but more complicated, because an 8N-order matrix is used for calculating the electromechanical coupling coefficient of the Lamb wave in an N-layered plate, which induces great computation loads and some calculation deviations. In this paper, a transfer matrix method is used for calculating the electromechanical coupling coefficient of Lamb waves in a multilayered plate, in which only an 8-order matrix is needed regardless of the number of layers of the plate. The results show that the transfer matrix method can obtain the same accuracy as those by the Green's function method, but the computation load and deviation are greatly decreased by avoiding the use of a high order matrix used in the Green's function method.  相似文献

The cumulative second-harmonic analysis of ultrasonic Lamb wave has been performed to study the precipitation kinetics and microvoid initiation of ferritic Cr–Ni alloy steel during the ageing process. Ageing of ferritic Cr–Ni alloy materials have been done at 1223 K and 1173 K for different degradation time intervals and air cooled. The results show that the normalized acoustic nonlinearity of Lamb wave increases with the formation of fine precipitates at the early stage of ageing till about 1000 h and keeps as a plateau with the precipitates dynamic balance for a long-term ageing, and then decreases gradually at the final holding time with the coarsening of precipitates and initiation of microvoids. The results also show that the variation of nonlinear Lamb wave follows the same trend as that of hardness in materials. Therefore, the cumulative second-harmonic of ultrasonic Lamb waves has been found to be strongly sensitive to the precipitates behavior and microstructure evolution during the thermal ageing of ferritic Cr–Ni alloy steel.  相似文献

Experimentally obtained visualizations of propagating inhomogeneous acoustic waves driven by zero-order antisymmetric Lamb waves (flexural waves) in water are presented. The inhomogeneous waves are visualized by optical holographic interferometry. A series of photographs show the evolution in time of instantaneous acoustic pressure distributions associated with propagating inhomogeneous waves. The photographs reveal characteristic features of flexurally driven inhomogeneous waves such as transversely attenuated wavefronts oriented perpendicularly to the plate boundary and a phase propagation velocity along the boundary approximately equal to the plate wave velocity (250 meters/second). Effects due to the dispersive nature of the flexural plate waves are also noted in the photographic series. Features distinguishing these subsonic, inhomogeneous surface waves (also called trapped or evanescent waves) from the leaky, lateral or head wave and also from incompressible fluid motions associated with low frequency vibrations of fluid loaded plates are identified. The relevance of inhomogeneous acoustic waves driven by subsonic flexural waves to practical sound-structure interaction problems is discussed.  相似文献
