PurposeTo compare the pharmacokinetic parameters derived from dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) in gastric cancers of different histological type and Lauren classification, and to investigate whether DCE-MRI parameters correlate with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression levels in gastric cancer.MethodsIncluded were 32 patients with gastric cancer who underwent DCE-MRI of the upper abdomen before tumor resection. DCE-MRI parameters including the volume transfer coefficient (Ktrans), reverse reflux rate constant (Kep), and extracellular extravascular volume fraction (Ve) were calculated from the tumor region. Post-operative specimens were used for determination of histological differentiation (i.e., non-mucinous, mucinous, or signet-ring-cell adenocarcinoma) as well as Lauren classification (intestinal type or diffuse type). VEGF expression was examined for assessing angiogenesis. DCE-MRI parameters with different histological type and Lauren classification were compared using independent samples t-test and analysis of variance, respectively. Correlations between DCE-MRI parameters and VEGF expression grades were tested using Spearman correlation analysis.ResultsAmong gastric adenocarcinomas of three different histological types, mucinous adenocarcinomas showed a higher Ve and lower Ktrans than the others (P < 0.01). Between the two Lauren classifications, the diffuse type showed a higher Ve than the intestinal type (P < 0.001). The mean Ktrans showed a significantly positive correlation with VEGF (r = 0.762, P < 0.001).ConclusionDCE-MRI permits noninvasive prediction of tumor histological type and Lauren classification and estimation of tumor angiogenesis in gastric cancer. DCE-MRI parameters can be used as imaging biomarkers to predict the biologic aggressiveness of a tumor as well as patient prognosis.  相似文献

PurposeTo evaluate the feasibility of utilizing serial dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) prospectively for early prediction of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) response in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients.Materials and methodsSixty-three advanced NPC patients were recruited and received three DCE-MRI exams before treatment (Pre-Tx), 3 days (Day3-Tx) and 20 days (Day20-Tx) after initiation of chemotherapy (one NAC cycle). Early response to NAC was determined based on the third MRI scan and classified partial response (PR) as responders and stable disease (SD) as non-responders. After intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), complete response (CR) patients were classified as responders. The kinetic parameters (Ktrans, Kep, ve, and vp) derived from extended Tofts' model analysis and their corresponding changes ΔMetrics(0–X) (X = 3 or 20 days) were compared between the responders and non-responders using the Student's T-test or Mann–Whitney U test.ResultsCompared to the SD group, the PR group after one NAC cycle presented significantly higher mean Ktrans values at baseline (P = 0.011) and larger ΔKtrans(0–3) and ΔKep(0–3) values (P = 0.003 and 0.031). For the above parameters, we gained acceptable sensitivity (range: 66.8–75.0%) and specificity (range: 60.0–66.7%) to distinguish the non-responders from the responders and their corresponding diagnosis efficacy (range: 0.703–0.767). The PR group patients after one NAC cycle showed persistent inhibition of tumor perfusion by NAC as explored by DCE-MRI parameters comparing to the SD group (P < 0.05) and presented a higher cure ratio after IMRT than those who did not (83.3% vs. 73.8%).ConclusionsThis primarily DCE-MRI based study showed that the early changes of the kinetic parameters during therapy were potential imaging markers to predicting response right after one NAC cycle for NPC patients.  相似文献

PurposeKinetic parameters derived from dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) were suggested as a possible instrument for multi-parametric lesion characterization, but have not found their way into clinical practice yet due to inconsistent results. The quantification is heavily influenced by the definition of an appropriate arterial input functions (AIF). Regarding brain tumor DCE-MRI, there are currently several co-existing methods to determine the AIF frequently including different brain vessels as sources. This study quantitatively and qualitatively analyzes the impact of AIF source selection on kinetic parameters derived from commonly selected AIF source vessels compared to a population-based AIF model.Material and methods74 patients with brain lesions underwent 3D DCE-MRI. Kinetic parameters [transfer constants of contrast agent efflux and reflux Ktrans and kep and, their ratio, ve, that is used to measure extravascular-extracellular volume fraction and plasma volume fraction vp] were determined using extended Tofts model in 821 ROI from 4 AIF sources [the internal carotid artery (ICA), the closest artery to the lesion, the superior sagittal sinus (SSS), the population-based Parker model]. The effect of AIF source alteration on kinetic parameters was evaluated by tissue type selective intra-class correlation (ICC) and capacity to differentiate gliomas by WHO grade [area under the curve analysis (AUC)].ResultsArterial AIF more often led to implausible ve > 100% values (p < 0.0001). AIF source alteration rendered different absolute kinetic parameters (p < 0.0001), except for kep. ICC between kinetic parameters of different AIF sources and tissues were variable (0.08–0.87) and only consistent > 0.5 between arterial AIF derived kinetic parameters. Differentiation between WHO III and II glioma was exclusively possible with vp derived from an AIF in the SSS (p = 0.03; AUC 0.74).ConclusionThe AIF source has a significant impact on absolute kinetic parameters in DCE-MRI, which limits the comparability of kinetic parameters derived from different AIF sources. The effect is also tissue-dependent. The SSS appears to be the best choice for AIF source vessel selection in brain tumor DCE-MRI as it exclusively allowed for WHO grades II/III and III/IV glioma distinction (by vp) and showed the least number of implausible ve values.  相似文献

Spinal myeloma and metastatic cancer cause similar symptoms and show similar imaging presentations, thus making them difficult to differentiate. In this study, dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) was performed to differentiate between 9 myelomas and 22 metastatic cancers that present as focal lesions in the spine. The characteristic DCE parameters, including the peak signal enhancement percentage (SE%), the steepest wash-in SE% during the ascending phase and the wash-out SE%, were calculated by normalizing to the precontrast signal intensity. The two-compartmental pharmacokinetic model was used to obtain Ktrans and kep. All nine myelomas showed the wash-out DCE pattern. Of the 22 metastatic cancers, 12 showed wash-out, 7 showed plateau, and 3 showed persistent enhancing patterns. The fraction of cases that showed the wash-out pattern was significantly higher in the myeloma group than the metastatic cancer group (9/9 = 100% vs. 12/22 = 55%, P = .03). Compared to the metastatic cancer group, the myeloma group had a higher peak SE% (226% ± 72% vs. 165% ± 60%, P = .044), a higher steepest wash-in SE% (169% ± 51% vs. 111% ± 41%, P = .01), a higher Ktrans (0.114 ± 0.036 vs. 0.077 ± 0.028 1/min, P = .016) and a higher kep (0.88 ± 0.26 vs. 0.49 ± 0.23 1/min, P = .002). The receiver operating characteristic analysis to differentiate between these two groups showed that the area under the curve was 0.798 for Ktrans, 0.864 for kep and 0.919 for combined Ktrans and kep. These results show that DCE-MRI may provide additional information for making differential diagnosis to aid in choosing the optimal subsequent procedures or treatments for spinal lesions.  相似文献

PurposeTo evaluate the perfusion parameters of inner and outer myometrium in healthy nulliparous and primiparous women who are and who are not currently using hormonal contraceptives by means of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI).Material and methodsWe performed pelvic 1.5 T DCE-MRI on 98 women: 18 nulliparous non-users, 30 nulliparous users, 12 primiparous non-users and 38 primiparous users of hormonal contraception (mean age respectively 26.4, 25.8, 30.23 and 28.18 years). The nulliparous non-users underwent DCE-MRI investigations during their follicular, ovulatory and luteal phase. Perfusion parameters (iAUC/volume, Ktrans, Kep and Ve) were assessed in the anterior and posterior junctional zone (JZ), outer myometrium and cervix.ResultsIn nulliparous non-users, the mean Ktrans and iAUC/volume showed a decrease from follicular to luteal phase (0.82 vs 0.55 min 1 for Ktrans, p = 0/027 and 1.28 vs 0.68 for iAUC/volume, p < 0.001). The anterior JZ demonstrated lower Ktrans (p = 0.050) and higher Kep (p = 0.012), in nulliparous non-users, lower Ktrans in nulliparous users (p < 0.001) and lower Ve in primiparous users (p = 0.012) than the anterior outer myometrium. Ktrans at the anterior and posterior JZ wall in nulliparous users was lower than in non-users (p = 0.001 and p = 0.013) and Ve at the anterior JZ wall in primiparous users was lower than in non-users (p = 0.044).ConclusionThis study provides data on normal perfusion parameters of inner and outer myometrium, which may be potentially useful in assisted reproductive therapy.  相似文献

PurposeBiochemical imaging of glycosaminoglycan chemical exchange saturation transfer (gagCEST) could predict the depletion of glycosaminoglycans (GAG) in early osteoarthritis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym) of gagCEST images and visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores in the knee joint.Materials and methodsThis retrospective study was approved by the institutional review board. A phantom study was performed using hyaluronic acid to validate the MTRasym values of gagCEST images. Knee magnetic resonance (MR) images of 22 patients (male, 9; female, 13; mean age, 50.3 years; age range; 25–79 years) with knee pain were included in this study. The MR imaging (MRI) protocol involved standard knee MRI as well as gagCEST imaging, which allowed region-of-interest analyses of the patellar facet and femoral trochlea. The MTRasym at 1.0 ppm was calculated at each region. The cartilages of the patellar facets and femoral trochlea were graded according to the Outerbridge classification system. Data regarding the VAS scores of knee pain were collected from the electronic medical records of the patients. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman's correlation.ResultsThe results of the phantom study revealed excellent correlation between the MTRasym values and the concentration of GAGs (r = 0.961; p = 0.003). The cartilage grades on the MR images showed significant negative correlation with the MTRasym values in the patellar facet and femoral trochlea (r = −0.460; p = 0.031 and r = −0.543; p = 0.009, respectively). The VAS pain scores showed significant negative correlation with the MTRasym values in the patellar facet and femoral trochlea (r = −0.435; p = 0.043 and r = −0.671; p = 0.001, respectively).ConclusionThe pain scores were associated with the morphological and biochemical changes in articular cartilages visualized on knee MR images. The biochemical changes, visualized in terms of the MTRasym values of the gagCEST images, exhibited greater correlation with the pain scores than the morphological changes visualized on conventional MR images; these results provide evidence supporting the theory regarding the association of patellofemoral osteoarthritis with knee pain scores.  相似文献

The spectra of the Ba 6pnk autoionizing Stark states with |M| = 0, 1, converging to the 6p1/2+ and 6p3/2+ ionization thresholds, are measured as a function of the electric field strength F. Several 6pjnk Stark manifolds with n = 13–15 have been systematically studied in order to explore their characteristics of configuration interaction. Experimental results are analyzed by fitting them to the Lorentzian profile, from which the positions and widths are determined. Different spectroscopic properties between the Ba 6p1/2nk and 6p3/2nk autoionizing Stark states are investigated. Comparison between the Ba 6pjnk autoionizing Stark states with |M| = 0 and those with |M| = 1 are made.  相似文献

The dielectric and pyroelectric responses of MgO-modified Pb0.99(Zr0.95Ti0.05)0.98Nb0.02O3 ceramics were investigated near FR(LT)–FR(HT) phase transition. It was found that MgO additive reduced the FR(LT)–FR(HT) phase transition temperature from 41 °C to room temperature (24 °C). Superior room-temperature pyroelectric properties were obtained in the composition of 0.10 wt% MgO addition without DC bias. The largest pyroelectric coefficient, 65 × 10−8 C cm−2 K−1, was detected. Accordingly, the detectivity figures of merit Fd had maximum values of 20 × 10−5 Pa−1/2, and especially the voltage responsivity Fv = 0.91 m2C−1 is the highest value reported so far among all pyroelectric materials. It shows promising potential for application in uncooled pyroelectric infrared detector.  相似文献

The paper presents a new data on the crystal structure of K2NaNbO2F4. Single crystals of K2NaNbO2F4, were obtained from the system of KF–NaF–Nb2O5. The compound is cubic, space group Fm3?m (No. 225), and the unit cell parameters are a=8.4726(4) Å, Z=4, Volume=608.21(5) Å3. The structure was solved by the direct methods and refined to the reliability factors R1=0.0116 (wR2=0.0302). Its structure can be described as three-dimensional frameworks formed of (0 1 0) [Na2Nb2O4F8]∞ layers stacked along b axis. In the framework, niobium, oxygen, fluorine atoms form a rare [NbO2F4]3? anion group in an anhydrous solid state environment. The IR spectrum further confirmed the presence of NbO2 and NbF4 groups in the structure. The thermal analysis suggests that K2NaNbO2F4 is an incongruently melting compound.  相似文献

PurposeTo investigate the diagnostic utilities of imaging parameters derived from T1-weighted imaging (T1WI), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) to differentiate bone metastases from prostate cancer and benign red marrow depositions of the pelvic bone.Materials and methodsThirty-six lesions from 36 patients with prostate cancer were analyzed with T1WI, DWI, and DCE-MRI. The lesions were classified in the bone metastases (n = 22) and benign red marrow depositions (n = 14). Lesion-muscle ratio (LMR), apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), volume transfer constant (Ktrans), reflux rate (Kep), and volume fraction of the extravascular extracellular matrix (Ve) values were obtained from the lesions. The imaging parameters of the both groups were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test, receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves were analyzed. For the ROC curves, area under the curves (AUCs) were compared.ResultsThe ADC, Ktrans, Kep, and Ve values of bone metastases were significantly higher than those of benign red marrow depositions (Mann-Whitney U test, p < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in LMR between the two groups (Mann-Whitney U test, p = 0.360). The AUCs of Ktrans, Kep, ADC, Ve, and LMR were 0.896, 0.844, 0.812, 0.724, and 0.448, respectively. In the pairwise comparison of ROC curves, the AUCs of Ktrans and Kep was significantly higher than LMR.ConclusionsKtrans, Kep, Ve, and ADC values can be used as imaging tools to differentiate bone metastases from prostate cancer and benign red marrow depositions of the pelvic bone.  相似文献

The formation of complex species of dioxouranium(VI) ion with EDTA was studied in the pH range of 1–3.5 and at 25 °C using a combination of potentiometric and spectrophotometric techniques. Results showed evidence for formation of the following species: [UO2H4EDTA]2+, [UO2H3EDTA]+, and [UO2H2EDTA]. Investigations were performed in sodium perchlorate as background electrolyte at 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 1.0 mol dm? 3. The parameters based on the formation constants were calculated, and the dependences of protonation and the stability constants on ionic strength are described. The dependence on ionic strength of the formation constants was analyzed using the specific ion interaction theory (SIT) model. The stability constant values at infinite dilution, obtained using SIT model, are log β°141 = 6.77, log β°131 = 5.99 and log β°121 = 9.29, where indexes for the overall stability constant, βpqr, refer to the equilibrium pUO22+ + qH+ + rL4? ? MpHqLr(2p + q ? 4r). The specific interaction coefficients are also reported.  相似文献

Continuous-time photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) and photon-exposure-dependent photon-stimulated desorption (PSD) were employed to investigate the monochromatic soft X-ray-induced dissociation of SF6 molecules adsorbed on Si(111)-7 × 7 at 30 K (SF6 dose = 3.4 × 1013 molecules/cm2, ~ 0.5 monolayer). The photon-induced evolution of adsorbed SF6 was monitored at photon energies of 98 and 120 eV [near the Si(2p) edge], and sequential valence-level PES spectra made it possible to deduce the photolysis cross section as a function of energy. It was found that the photolysis cross sections for 98 and 120 eV photons are ~ 2.7 × 10? 17 and ~ 3.7 × 10?17 cm2, respectively. The changes in the F? and F+ PSD ion yields were also measured during irradiation of 120 eV photons. The photon-exposure dependencies of the F? and F+ ion yields show the characteristics: (a) the dissociation of adsorbed SF6 molecules is ascribable to the substrate-mediated dissociations [dissociative attachment (DA) and dipolar dissociation (DD) induced by the photoelectrons emitting from the silicon substrate]; (b) at early stages of photolysis, the F? yield is mainly due to DA and DD of the adsorbed SF6 molecules, while at high photon exposure the F? formation by electron capture of the F+ ion is likely to be the dominant mechanism; (c) the F+ ion desorption is associated with the bond breaking of the surface SiF species; (d) the surface SiF is formed by reaction of the surface Si atom with the fluorine atom or F? ion produced by scission of S–F bond of SFn (n = 1–6) species.  相似文献

PurposeTo investigate parotid perfusion in early-to-intermediate stage after parotid-sparing radiation dose using fat-saturated DCE-MRI, and to verify whether the perfusion alteration was related to radiation dose and the PSV.Methods and MaterialsThirty-two parotid glands from 16 consecutive patients with pathologically proven nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by IMRT were examined. The parotid glands received a radiation dose of 28.9 ± 3.9 Gy with a PSV of 43.1% ± 13.9%. Perfusion parameters were calculated using time-shifted Brix model from fat-saturated DCE-MRI data before (pre-RT) and in early-to-intermediate stage after (post-RT) IMRT. Paired t-test was used to evaluate perfusion changes, while Pearson's correlation test was used to examine perfusion dependency on radiation dose and PSV. For multiple comparisons Bonferroni correction was applied.ResultsSuccessful fat saturation was achieved in 29 of 32 parotid glands. Compared with pre-RT, the post-RT parotid glands showed significantly higher A, peak enhancement, and wash-in slope, plus a lower Kel, suggesting a mixed effect of increased vascular permeability and acinar loss. Linear regression showed that peak enhancement was positively associated with radiation dose in post-RT parotid glands. Kel and slope were negatively associated with PSV, while time-to-peak was positively associated with PSV significantly.ConclusionsOur results suggest that time-shifted Brix model is feasible for quantifying parotid perfusion using DCE-MRI. The perfusion alterations in early-to-intermediate stage after IMRT might be related to a mixed effect of increased vascular permeability and acinar loss with dose and PSV dependencies.  相似文献

IntroductionWheelchair Users (WCUs) depend on their upper extremities for their daily living. Therefore, it is not unusual to find that shoulder pain (SP) is a problem for WCUs and reduces their participation in sport and leisure activities.ObjectivesThe aims of this study were 1 – to analyse skin temperature measured by infrared thermography (IRT) before (pre-test), one minute after (post-test) and 10 min after (post-10) the kinematic wheelchair propulsion test (T-CIDIF) of athletic wheelchair users; 2 – to evaluate the relationship between shoulder pain (SP) and Skin Temperature Asymmetry (ΔTsk) before and after (pre-test, post-test, post-10) the T-CIDIF, and to relate the SP with the kinematic variables of the T-CIDIF.Participants & interventions/procedureA volunteer sample of 12 wheelchair athletes completed an exercise test (T-CIDIF) in their own wheelchair. It consisted in a 30-s maximum test performed on two rollers. Two linear transducers connected to the rollers registered the number of propulsions, maximum and mean velocity and power of each arm. SP was assessed with the Wheelchair Users Shoulder Pain Index (WUSPI). Skin temperature (Tsk) of the anterior and posterior upper body was measured before and after the T-CIDIF by using an infrared camera. A total of 26 ROIs were evaluated with respect to the opposite side of the body to identify significant (ΔTsk).Results/main outcome measure(s)Significant differences were observed between the Tsk of the post-10 and pre-test in 12 ROIs, and between the post-10 and the post-test in most of the ROIs. These differences are attenuated when the ΔTsk is compared before and after exercise. Tsk tends to initially decrease immediately after the test and then significantly increase after 10 min of completing the T-CIDIF. The ΔTsk vs SP analysis yielded significant inverse relationships (from r = −0.58 to r = −0.71, p < 0.05) in 5 of the 26 ROI. No significant correlations between propulsion variables and SP questionnaire were found. All T-CIDIF variables were significantly correlated with the temperature asymmetries in multiple ROIs (from r = −0.86 to r = −0.58, from p < 0.05 to p < 0.001).ConclusionsThese results present indications that high performance wheelchair athletes exhibit similar capacity of heat production than able-bodied. The thermographic data inversely correlates with the SP and the kinematic variables, but the last is not related to SP. This work contributes to improve the understanding about temperature changes in wheelchair athletes during exercise, and could be used to assess the efficacy of various sports and rehabilitation programs.  相似文献

Multi-metallic Prussian blue compound Ni1.125Co0.375[Fe(CN)6] · 6.8H2O has been synthesized. The Mössbauer spectroscopy at room temperature and IR spectra study revealed that the metal ions are bonded through cyanide ligand and the presence of low spin FeIII(S = 1/2) and high spin FeIII(S = 5/2) ions, as showed in these structure: FeIII(S = 1/2)-CN-(CoII/NiII)(96%) and FeIII(S = 5/2)-NC-(CoII/NiII) (4%). The Curie constant of C = 3.00 cm3 K mol−1 and Weiss paramagnetic Curie temperature of θ = 16.43 K were observed in fitting according to Curie–Weiss law. These results indicate that there existed a ferromagnetic exchange interaction in the complexes. The observed value of coercive field (Hc) and remanent magnetization (Mr) at 4 K for the compound are 497 Oe and 1.03 . The presence of spin-glass behaviours in the compound is ascribed mainly to domain mobility or domain growth under different cooling conditions.  相似文献

Emission spectra of SrH and SrD have been studied at high resolution using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The molecules have been produced in a high temperature furnace from the reaction of strontium metal vapor with H2/D2 in the presence of a slow flow of Ar gas. The spectra observed in the 18 000–19 500 cm?1 region consist of the 0–0 and 1–1 bands of the E2Π–X2Σ+ transition of the two isotopologues. A rotational analysis of these bands has been obtained by combining the present measurements with previously available pure rotation and vibration–rotation measurements for the ground state, and improved spectroscopic constants have been obtained for the E2Π state. The present analysis provides spectroscopic constants for the E2Π state as ΔG(½) = 1166.1011(15) cm?1, Be = 3.805503(32) cm?1, αe = 0.098880(47) cm?1, re = 2.1083727(89) Å for SrH, and ΔG(½) = 839.1283(23) cm?1, Be = 1.918564(15) cm?1, αe = 0.034719(23) cm?1, re = 2.1121943(83) Å for SrD.  相似文献

PurposeAim of this retrospective study was to compare diagnostic accuracy of proposed automatic normalization method to quantify the relative cerebral blood volume (rCBV) with existing contra-lateral region of interest (ROI) based CBV normalization method for glioma grading using T1-weighted dynamic contrast enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI).Material and methodsSixty patients with histologically confirmed gliomas were included in this study retrospectively. CBV maps were generated using T1-weighted DCE-MRI and are normalized by contralateral ROI based method (rCBV_contra), unaffected white matter (rCBV_WM) and unaffected gray matter (rCBV_GM), the latter two of these were generated automatically. An expert radiologist with > 10 years of experience in DCE-MRI and a non-expert with one year experience were used independently to measure rCBVs. Cutoff values for glioma grading were decided from ROC analysis. Agreement of histology with rCBV_WM, rCBV_GM and rCBV_contra respectively was studied using Kappa statistics and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC).ResultThe diagnostic accuracy of glioma grading using the measured rCBV_contra by expert radiologist was found to be high (sensitivity = 1.00, specificity = 0.96, p < 0.001) compared to the non-expert user (sensitivity = 0.65, specificity = 0.78, p < 0.001). On the other hand, both the expert and non-expert user showed similar diagnostic accuracy for automatic rCBV_WM (sensitivity = 0.89, specificity = 0.87, p = 0.001) and rCBV_GM (sensitivity = 0.81, specificity = 0.78, p = 0.001) measures. Further, it was also observed that, contralateral based method by expert user showed highest agreement with histological grading of tumor (kappa = 0.96, agreement 98.33%, p < 0.001), however; automatic normalization method showed same percentage of agreement for both expert and non-expert user. rCBV_WM showed an agreement of 88.33% (kappa = 0.76,p < 0.001) with histopathological grading.ConclusionIt was inferred from this study that, in the absence of expert user, automated normalization of CBV using the proposed method could provide better diagnostic accuracy compared to the manual contralateral based approach.  相似文献

IntroductionTechnological developments have increased the ease of performing perfusion MRI by arterial spin labeling (ASL) in clinical settings. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of radiotherapy on extra-axial brain tumors by using MR perfusion images obtained using the pseudo-continuous arterial spin labeling (pcASL) method.Materials and MethodsSix consecutive patients (nine lesions) with extra-axial brain tumors treated only with radiotherapy were enrolled in this study. MR examinations, including pcASL imaging, were performed before and after radiotherapy. Cerebral blood flow, maximum tumor blood flow (mTBF), tumor volume and the ratio of signal enhancement by contrast material (enhancement ratio) were evaluated in serial examinations during the course of radiotherapy. Both the percentage change in mTBF (mTBF ratio) and the percentage change in volume (volume ratio) were calculated using values obtained before and after radiotherapy. The correlation between the volume ratio and the mTBF ratio was assessed using linear regression analysis and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient (rs).ResultsA strong correlation was demonstrated between the tumor volume ratio and the mTBF ratio before and after radiotherapy (rs= 0.93, P< .01). However, no significant correlation was identified between changes in enhancement and volume ratio (rs= 0.20) or between changes in enhancement and mTBF ratio (rs= 0.30) before and after radiotherapy.ConclusionThe mTBF measured using pcASL may serve as an additive index for tumor volume when determining tumor response to radiotherapy even in the absence of contrast material.  相似文献

Pure samples of cis,cis- and trans,trans-1,4-difluorobutadiene-2-d1 have been synthesized, and high-resolution (0.0015 cm?1) infrared spectra have been recorded for these nonpolar molecules in the gas phase. For the cis,cis isomer, the rotational structure in two C-type bands at 775 and 666 cm?1 and one A-type band at 866 cm?1 has been analyzed to yield a combined set of 2020 ground state combination differences (GSCDs). Ground state rotational constants fit to these GSCDs are A0 = 0.4195790(4), B0 = 0.0536508(8), and C0 = 0.0475802(9) cm?1. For the trans, trans isomer, three C-type bands at 856, 839, and 709 cm?1 have been investigated to give a combined set of 1624 GSCDs. Resulting ground state rotational constants for this isomer are A0 = 0.9390117(8), B0 = 0.0389225(4), and C0 = 0.0373778(3) cm?1. Small inertial defects confirm the planarity of both isomers in the ground state. Upper state rotational constants have been determined for most of the transitions. The ground state rotational constants for the two isotopologues will contribute to the data set needed for determining semiexperimental equilibrium structures for the nonpolar isomers of 1,4-difluorobutadiene.  相似文献
