Copper, nickel and cobalt complexes of Schiff-bases, obtained by condensation of 3-ammo-5-methylpyrazole with salicylaldehyde; 2,3-dilhydroxybenzaldehyde, 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, 2,5-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, and 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde, were synthesized and characterized. Analytical data and electrical conductivity measurements indicate the formation of 1:1 and 1:2 complexes. Magnetic moments and spectral properties support Oh, Td, penta-coordinate and square planar structures for the complexes. T.g.a., d.t.g., d.t.a. and d.s.c. studies on the formed complexes show three and four decomposition steps. Complexes obtained by direct reaction between the metal salt and the corresponding Schiff-base have magnetic moments, stereochemistry and thermal properties which are different from their analogues obtained by template synthesis. Activation energies Ea and enthalpies ΔH, associated with thermal decomposition of the complexes, were also calculated. Some of the complexes have been tested for antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

Complexes of CuII, NiII, CoII and FeIII with Schiff-bases derived by condensing o-aminophenol and ethanolamine with dibenzoylmethane, benzoylacetone, acetylacetone and thenoyltrifluoroacetone have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electrical conductivity, magnetic moment, d.t.a. and t.g.a. measurements, i.r., u.v.–vis., e.s.r. and Mössbauer spectra. All the complexes are non-electrolytes. Those with 1:2 metal:ligand ratios have an octahedral or distorted octahedral environment. Square-planar, Td or D2d structures have been proposed for the 1:1 complexes. The Mössbauer spectrum of the FeIII complex confirms its high-spin octahedral stereochemistry.  相似文献

Complexes of Cu(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Hg(II), Cd(II) and Rh(III) with 2-pyridine carboxaldehyde-N-methyl-N-2-pyridylhydrazone ( pamph) have been prepared and characterized. The new complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity and magnetic measurements, IR, UV–vis and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. The microbiological activity of the complexes was investigated against bacteria and fungi. Most of the complexes studied appear to be active against bacteria while all are active against fungi. The Cu, Cd and Hg complexes exhibit the highest activity against both bacteria and fungi.  相似文献

The macrocyclic complexes of Co(II) and Ni(II) having chloride or thiocyanate ions in the axial position have been synthesized and characterized. These complexes are synthesised by the template condensation of o-phenylenediamine or 2,3-butanedionedihydrazone with the appropriate aldehydes in NH4OH solution in the presence of the metal ions, Co(II) and Ni(II). The complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods (IR, UV-Vis and ESR) and magnetic measurements as well as thermal analysis (TG and DTA). The results obtained are commensurate with the proposed formulae. Spectral studies indicate that these complexes have an octahedral structure. From conductivity measurements the complexes are non-electrolytes. The kinetic of the thermal decomposition of the complexes was studied and the thermodynamic parameters are reported.  相似文献

In this study, the mononuclear complexes of cadmium(II) and dinuclear complexes of uranyl(VI) with five vic-dioximes have been obtained. Cadmium(II) forms, with ligands, complexes [(L xH)(Cl)(H2O)(Cd)] with x=1–5. Mononuclear complexes with a metal: ligand ratio of 1:1 were obtained for cadmium(II) with the ligands, and a chloride ion and a water molecule are also coordinated to the cadmium(II) ions. Uranyl(VI) complexes of these ligands are a dinuclear structure with μ-hydroxo-bridges. Uranyl(VI) forms, with ligands, complexes [(LxH)2(OH)2(UO2)2] with x=1–5, which have a 2:2 metal:ligand ratio. The structures of the complexes were identified by elemental analysis, i.r., and 1H-n.m.r. spectra, u.v.–vis. spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility measurements, conductivity measurements and thermogravimetric analysis (t.g.a.).  相似文献

Abstract

Some organolead(IV) complexes derived from biologically active sulfur and nitrogen donor ligands have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations and conductivity measurements. The trigonal bipyramidal and octahedral geometries for these complexes have been proposed on the basis of electronic, infrared and NMR (1H and 13C) spectral evidences. The antifungal activity of some of the ligands and their complexes have also been evaluated against Fursarium oxysporum SCW. ex Frics f. sp. Ciceri (Pedwick) subram.  相似文献

Primary phosphine complexes of transition metals have been synthesized from salicylaldiminopropylphosphine. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, electronic, 1H NMR, 31P NMR spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and conductivity measurements. The studies indicate square planar geometry for copper, cobalt, and nickel complexes. The EPR spectra of copper complex in acetonitrile at 300 and 77 K were recorded. The biological activities of the ligand and metal complexes have been studied on microorganisms such as Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Aspergillus niger, and Aspergillus flavus by the well-diffusion method. The zone of inhibition values were measured at 37°C for 24 h. The electrochemical behavior of copper complexes was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The copper(II) complex oxidizes cinnamaldehyde using hydrogen peroxide as oxidant.  相似文献

Two new Schiff base ligands containing 2,4–disubstituted thiazoles and cyclobutane rings, 4-(1-methyl-1-phenylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L1H), 4-(1-methyl-1-p-xylylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L2H) and their mononuclear complexes with a 1:2 metal–ligand ratio have been prepared from acetate salts of CoII, CuII, NiII and ZnII in EtOH. The authenticity of the ligands and their complexes have been established by microanalyses, i.r., 13C- and 1H-n.m.r. spectra, and by magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The complexes are mononuclear. Thermal properties of the ligands and complexes have been studied by t.g.a. and d.s.c. techniques. Antimicrobial activities of the ligands and their complexes have been tested against six different microorganisms; three are yeast and three are bacteria. One of the ligands and many of the complexes were found to be active against some of the microorganisms studied.  相似文献

Binuclear copper, nickel and cobalt complexes of the Schiff-bases obtained by condensation of glycylglycine with acetylacetone, benzoylacetone, dibenzoylmethane and thenoyltrifluoroacetone were prepared by template synthesis. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, magnetic moments, i.r., u.v.–vis. spectra, e.s.r., X-ray diffraction, t.g.a., d.t.a. and d.s.c. thermal analysis. All the complexes are non-electrolytes with low magnetic moments that indicate spin–spin or antiferromagnetic exchange interactions. Spectral properties support square planar and square pyramidal or trigonal bipyramidal structure provided by the N2O2 chromophores. E.s.r. spectra of the copper complex confirm the binuclear structure and the presence of magnetic interaction. Thermal studies supported the chemical formulation of these complexes and showed that they decompose in three to four steps depending on the type of ligand. Activation energies Ea and enthalpies ΔH, associated with the thermal decomposition of the complexes were calculated and correlated with the type of complexed metal. A mechanism for thermal decomposition is proposed for the complexes.  相似文献

Six new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by template reactions of salicylaldehyde derivatives with (±)-trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane and metal(II) nitrates. The metal to ligand ratio was 1 : 1. The Cu(II) complexes are proposed to be square planar and the Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes are proposed to be tetrahedral. The complexes are 1 : 2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (ΛM) in DMF. The metal complexes are characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, UV–Vis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements and mass spectra.  相似文献

Novel PdII and PtII complexes of substituted o-hydroxyacetophenone-glycine have been synthesized, and characterized by conductivity measurements, i.r., electronic and 1H-n.m.r. spectra. The spectral data indicate that the ligands are monobasic bidentate, coordinating through imino nitrogen and the carboxylate group. A four coordinate square planar configuration has been proposed for all the complexes. The ligands, as well as their PdII and PtII complexes, exhibit potent cytotoxic activity against Ehrlich ascites tumour cells in vitro, but appear to be more active in vivo. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A new symmetric bidentate Schiff base N,N′-bis [(E)-3-(2-nitrophenyl)allylidene)]benzene-1,2-diamine (L) and its complexes with general formula ZnLX2 (X = chloride, bromide, iodide, thiocyanate and azide) are described. The authenticity of the ligand and complexes have been established by microanalysis, electronic, MS, FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectra, and by molar conductivity measurements. All compounds are non-electrolytes in DMF. The analytical data confirmed that the metal to ligand ratio in the complexes is 1 : 1. The complexes have pseudotetrahedral geometry with C2V point group.  相似文献

Solid complexes of lighter lanthanide nitrates with N,N′-dinaphthyl-N,N′-diphenyl-3,6-dioxaoctanediamide (DDD), Ln(NO3)3(DDD) (Ln = La---Nd, Sm) have been prepared in non-aqueous media. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, IR spectra, electronic spectra and TG-DTA techniques. In all the complexes, DDD and NO3 are coordinated to the lanthanide ions as tetradentate and bidentate ligands, respectively. The differences in the IR and electronic spectra between these complexes and lanthanide nitrate complexes with N,N,N′,N′-tetraphenyl-3,6-dioxaoctanediamide (TDD) are discussed.  相似文献

CoII, NiII and CuII chloride complexes with acetamidrazone derivatives (L 1 )–(L 8 ) have been prepared, by reacting the corresponding metal chloride with the ligand in a 1:2 ratio, and characterised by chemical analysis and physical measurements. The ligand behaviour and the geometry have been assigned on the basis of i.r. spectroscopy, electronic reflectance spectra and molar conductivity values and only, where possible, the geometry has been confirmed as octahedral by X-ray structure determination. Complexes cytotoxicity on a human cellular line of adenocarcinoma was also tested. Three of the complexes present a weak cytotoxicity in vitro.  相似文献

An interesting series of cobalt(II) complexes of the new ligands: 4[N-(benzalidene)amino]antipyrinethiosemicarbazone (BAAPTS), 4[N-(2′-hydroxy-benzalidene)amino]antipyrinethiosemicarbazone (HBAAPTS) and 4[N-(2′-hydroxy-1′-naphthalidene)amino]antipyrinethiosemicarbazone (HNAAPTS) were synthesized by reaction with Co(II) salts in ethanol. The general stoichiometry of the complexes was found to be [CoX2(H2O)(L)] and [Co(L)2](ClO4)2, where X = Cl, NO3, NCS or CH3COO and L = BAAPTS, HBAAPTS or HNAAPTS. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity measurement, molecular weight determination, magnetic moments at room temperature, infrared and electronic spectra. All the thiosemicarbazones behave as neutral tridentate (N, N, S) donor ligands. The conductivity measurements in PhNO2 solution indicated that the chloro, nitrato, thiocyanato and acetate complexes are essentially non-electrolytes, while the perchlorate complexes are 1:2 electrolytes. Thermogravimetric studies were performed for some representative complexes and the decomposition mechanism proposed. Antibacterial and antifungal properties of the ligands and their cobalt(II) complexes have also been examined and it has been observed that the complexes are more potent bactericides than the ligand.  相似文献

Chromium, manganese, and zinc complexes of deoxyalliin were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral studies, electrospray ionization–mass spectrometry, thermogravimetric analysis, conductivity, and magnetic moment measurements. The complexes are proposed to have octahedral geometry, are water soluble, and exhibit antifungal activity against Collectotrichum falcatum, a fungus which causes red rot disease in sugarcane.  相似文献

Summary Equilibrium studies of mixed ligand complexes of palladium(II) containing diethylenetriamine as a primary ligand and amino acids as secondary ligands were made by the pH titration method at 25° C and ionic strengthM=0.1. Different equilibrium constants, characteristic of binary and mixed ligand complexes were calculated and the chelation mode was deduced from conductivity measurements.  相似文献
