Mono- and homobinuclear complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with phthalein purple are prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, thermal studies (TGA and DTA), spectral methods (IR, UV/Vis, and ESR), magnetic moment determination, and electrochemical reduction (DC polarography at DME and CV at HMDE). Thermal degradation of the complexes was studied by TGA and DTA where some thermodynamic parameters were determined. The mode of bonding and geometry of the complexes were determined from the spectral studies. Magnetic moment values showed some antiferromagnetism in the homobinuclear complexes. The reduction of the metal ions proceeds to the metallic state along an irreversible process.  相似文献

A series of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of the type [M(PC)]2H2O and [M2(PC)]4H2O, where PC is phthaleincomplexone (metalphthalein), are synthesized. It is attempted to throw some light on (heir stoichiometry, structure and stability. The formation of 1:1 and 2:1 (M:L) complexes is confirmed by their elemental microanalysis. The compounds are characterized by IR, electronic absorption spectra, X-band ESR spectra, magnetic moments and TGA measurements. The conditional stability constants are also determined.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) form 2:1 complexes with aminocyclodiphosph(V)azane derivative. The complexes have been investigated in solution by the spectrophometric molar ratio and conductometeric methods. The ligand and its complexes have been isolated in solid state and characterized on the basis of microanalytical, infrared, electronic, magnetic moment, 1 H NMR and mass spectral data. The cobalt and nickel complexes were assigned to be in tetrahedral structure while the copper complex is assigned to be in square planar.  相似文献

Mononuclear and binuclear Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of new semicarbazone ligands derived from sulfonamide were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectra. In mononuclear complexes, the semicarbazone behaves as a monoanionic terdentate or neutral terdentate ligand towards the metal ion. However, in binuclear complexes, it behaves as a monoanionic terdentate towards one of the bivalent metal ions and monoanionic bidentate ligand towards the other metal ion in the same complex. Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements of the solid complexes indicated octahedral geometry around Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) and square planar around the Cu(II) ion. These geometries were confirmed by the results obtained from thermal analyses. The antifungus properties of the ligands and their complexes were investigated.  相似文献

The complexes with the empirical formula M(4-bipy)(ClCH2COO)2 ×nH2O (where: 4-bipy=4,4'-bipyridine, L=ClCH2 COO, M (II)=Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) were prepared and characterized via the IR and electronic (VIS) spectra and conductivity measurements. Thermal decomposition of these compounds was studied. During heating in air dehydration processes occur. The anhydrous compounds decompose at high temperature to oxides. The principal volatile mass fragments correspond to: H2O, CO2, CH3Cl, HCl, Cl2 and other. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Oxazolone forms (1:1) complexes with Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ chlorides, as well as forms (1:1) complexes with Co2+ and Cu2+ acetates. All the complexes are found to be non-electrolytes in DMF; tetrahedral, square-planar and octahedral structures are assigned to them based on electronic and magnetic data. IR studies reveal that the complexes are formed by donating the lone-pair electron from O and N atoms to the metal ion. The thermal decomposition of the [ML·mnH2O]y·H2O chelates was studied by TG–DTA techniques. The mechanism of the decomposition has been established from TG–DTA data. The kinetic parameters, activation energy (Ea) and pre-exponential factor (A), were calculated from TG curves using Coats and Redfern method. Relative thermal stabilities of the chelates have been evaluated on the basis of these parameters.  相似文献

Complexes of the type [M(painh)(H2O)2X], where M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); X = Cl2 or SO4; painh = p-amino acetophenone isonicotinoyl hydrazone, have been synthesized and characterized by spectral and other physico-chemical techniques. The synthesized complexes are stable powders, insoluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and diethyl ether, and are non-electrolytes. Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) studies show that the organic ligand decomposes exothermically through various steps. TGA and Infrared (IR) spectral studies indicate the presence of coordinated water in the metal complexes. Magnetic susceptibility measurements and electronic spectra suggest that Mn(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes are paramagnetic with octahedral geometry, whereas Cu(II) complexes have distorted octahedral geometry. The neutral bidentate ligand bonds through >C=O and >C=N–groups in all the complexes. Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectra in the solid state show axial symmetry for [Cu(painh)(H2O)2(SO4)] and elongated rhombic symmetry for [Cu(painh)(H2O)2Cl2], suggesting an elongated tetragonally-distorted octahedral structure for both complexes. X-ray powder diffraction parameters for two complexes correspond to tetragonal and orthorhombic crystal lattices. The metal complexes show fair antifungal activity against Rizoctonia sp., Aspergillus sp., Stemphylium sp., and Penicillium sp. and appreciable antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas sp. and Escherichia coli.  相似文献

A new chelating agent, bis(diacetylmonoxime)thiocarbohydrazone (H3DMT), has been synthesized from reaction between diacetylmonoxime and thiocarbohydrazide. The prepared ligand, characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H?NMR spectra, is a strong chelating agent and indicator. Its coordinating properties have been studied toward VO2+, Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Pt(IV) ions. The data revealed the formation of mononuclear complexes with Co(II) and Pt(IV) and binuclear complexes with the rest. In all complexes, the ligand binds in its deprotonated form through the oxime and hydrazone nitrogens as well as the thiol or thione sulfur forming five- and six-membered rings. All complexes exhibit an octahedral structure except for the Cu(II) which has a square-pyramidal geometry based on the spectral and magnetic studies. The ESR spectra of the Cu(II) and VO2+ complexes are in good agreement with the structural results. The color change from acidic (yellow) to basic (reddish brown) media gives the ligand the ability to become as an analytical indicator for weak acid–weak base titrations.  相似文献

New mixed-ligand complexes with empirical formulae M(4-bpy)L2·1.5H2O (M(II)=Mn, Co), Ni(4-bpy)2L2 and Cu(4-bpy) L2·H2O (where: 4-bpy=4,4'-bipyridine, L=CC L2HCOO-) have been isolated in pure state. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, ir spectroscopy, conductivity (in methanol, dimethylformamide and dimethylsulfoxide solutions) and magnetic and x-ray diffraction measurements. The Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes are isostructural. The way of metal-ligand coordinations discussed. the ir spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are bonded with metal(II) in the same way (Ni, Cu) or in different way (Mn, Co). The solubility in water is in the order of 19.40·10-3÷1.88·10-3ł mol dm-3ł. During heating the hydrate complexes lose all water in one step. The anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides via several intermediate compounds. A coupled TG-MS system was used to analyse the principal volatile products of obtained complexes. The principal volatile products of thermal decomposition of complexes in air are: H2O2 +, CO2 +, HCl+, Cl2 +, NO+ and other. Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with 3-(2-pyridyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (PHPO), 3-(1-naphthyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (NHPO) and 3-(3,4-dimethoxy phenyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (DMPHPO) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, conductivity, thermal, magnetic, infrared, electronic and electron spin resonance data. Based on analytical data the stoichiometry of the complexes has been found to be 1 : 2. The conductivity data show that all these complexes are non-electrolytes. The infrared spectral data indicate that the ligand PHPO acts as uninegative tridentately towards Co(II) and Ni(II) and bidentately with Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II). Ligands like NHPO and DMPHPO act as uninegative bidentately with all the metal ions. The electronic spectral data suggest that all the Co(II) complexes and Ni(II) of PHPO complex are octahedral and all the Cu(II) and Ni(II) of NHPO and DMPHPO complex are square-planar. The complex of Zn(II) and Cd(II) are tetrahedral. ESR parameters of Cu(II) complexes have been calculated and relevant conclusions have been drawn with respect to the nature of bonds present in them.  相似文献

A new Schiff base, {1-[(2-hydroxy-naphthalen-1-ylmethylene)-amino]-4-phenyl-2-thioxo-1, 2-dihydro-pyrimidin-5-yl}-phenyl-methanone, has been synthesized from N-amino pyrimidine-2-thione and 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde. Metal complexes of the Schiff base were prepared from acetate/chloride salts of Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) in methanol. The chemical structures of the Schiff-base ligand and its metal complexes were confirmed by elemental analyses, IR, 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, API-ES, UV-Visible spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and thermogravimetric analyses. The electronic spectral data and magnetic moment measurements suggest mononuclear octahedral and mononuclear or binuclear square planar structures for the metal complexes. In light of these results, it was suggested that this ligand coordinates to each metal atom by hydroxyl oxygen, azomethine nitrogen, and thione sulfur to form octahedral complexes with Cd(II) and Zn(II).  相似文献

The mixed 2,4'-bipyridine-oxalato complexes of the formulae M(2,4'-bipy)2 C2 O4 2H2 O (M (II)=Mn, Co, Ni, Cu; 2,4'-bipyridine=2,4'-bipy or L ; C2 O2– 4 =ox) have been prepared and characterized. IR data show that the 2,4'-bipy coordinated with these metals(II) via the least hindered (4')N atom; that oxalate group acts as bidentate chelating ligand. Room temperature magnetic moments are normal for the orbital singlet states. The thermal decomposition of these complexes was investigated by TG, DTA and DTG in air. The endothermic or exothermic character of the decomposition of ML2 (ox)2H2 O was discussed. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Complexes of naturally occurring hydroxynaphtho-quinone, lapachol (2-hydroxy-3(3-methyl-2-buthenyl)-1,4-naphthoquinone = HL) with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been prepared by reaction of the corresponding acetates with the ligand (HL) in ethanol. The molecular and crystal structures were determined for [CoL2(EtOH)2] (1), [NiL2(EtOH)2] (2), and [CuL2(py)2] (3). In all cases the deprotonated lapachol behaves as chelating bidentate ligand. The complexes were also characterized by elemental analyses, cyclic voltammetry, and FAB-MS.  相似文献

Infrared (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG), derivative thermogravimetric analysis (DTG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and molar conductivity studies have been carried out on the chelates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with 3-methyl- and 3-phenyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolones. The solid chelates were synthesized, separated, analyzed and their structures were elucidated. The data obtained show that almost all of the prepared chelates contain water molecules in their coordination sphere. The initial stage in the thermal decomposition process of these chelates shows the presence of water molecule, the second denotes to the intermediate products. The final decomposition products were found to be the respective metal oxides. The NMR spectrum of 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone ligand shows the existence of the oxime rather than the nitroso form. 3-phenyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone acts as a neutral bidentate ligand whereas 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone acts as monobasic bidentate ligand bonded to the metal ions through the two oxygen atoms of the carbonyl and nitroso groups. The solid chelates prepared behave as non-electrolytes in DMF solution. The coordination numbers of the obtained chelates using 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone are four on applying the mole ratio 1:1 and six on using 1:2 mole ratio. In case of using the ligand 3-phenyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone the coordination number is six in both cases. Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II)3,3-dimethylglutarates were investigated and their quantitative composition, solubility in water at 293 K and magnetic moments were determined. IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared with general formula MC7H10O4nH2O (n=0−2) were recorded and their thermal decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes of Mn(II),Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are dehydrated in one step and next all the anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Co, Zn) or with intermediate formation free metal (Ni,Cu) or oxocarbonates (Cd). The carboxylate groups in the complexes studied are bidentate. The magnetic moments for the paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)attain values 5.62, 5.25, 2.91 and 1.41 M.B., respectively. N,N′-diethyleneamine bis(salicylideneimine); H2DETS and N,N′-diethyleneamine bis(o-hydroxyacetophenoneimine); H2DETHA have been prepared to produce Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes by the addition of the synthesized Schiff bases to the studied ions under nitrogen. H2DETS and H2DETHA are neutral tridentate in the nitrato complexes and binegative pentadentate in the other complexes. A square pyramidal structure was suggested for all complexes based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, infrared, electronic spectra and magnetic moment measurements. The oxygen absorption properties were studied for the isolated complexes by considering the solubility, oxygen affinity and stability. [Co(DETS)]·4H2O has the highest affinity. Different concentrations for the Co(II) complex were studied.  相似文献

Four new mixed ligand complexes were prepared by the reaction of title metal dichloroacetates and 2,4'-bipyridine. The general formulae of synthesized compounds are M(2,4'-bpy)2(CCl2HCOO)2·nH2O (where M(II)=Mn, Co, Ni, Cu; 2,4'-bpy=2,4'-bipyridine, n=2 or 4). The complexes have been isolated from aqueous media and characterized by chemical analysis, molar conductance (in MeOH, DMSO and DMF), magnetic, IR and VIS spectral studies. The nature of metal(II)-ligand coordination is discussed. The thermal behaviour of obtained complexes was studied by thermal analysis and TG-MS techniques in air. IR, X-ray powder diffraction and thermoanalytical data were used for the determination of solid intermediate products of the thermal decomposition. The principal volatile products of thermal decomposition of complexes were proved by mass spectroscopy: H2O+, CO+ 2, HCl+ 2, Cl+ 2, NO+ and other. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methylglutarates were prepared as solids with general formula MC6 H8 O4 ×n H2 O, where n =0–8. Their solubilities in water at 293 K were determined (7.0×10−2 −4.2×10−3 mol dm−3 ). The IR spectra were recorded and thermal decomposition in air was investigated. The IR spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are mono- or bidentate. During heating the hydrated complexes lose some water molecules in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or two steps (Cd) and then mono- (Cu) or dihydrates (Mn, Co, Ni) decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Cu, Co) or with intermediate formation of free metals (Co, Ni). Anhydrous Zn(II) complex decomposes directly to the oxide ZnO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

New Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Mn(II) complexes of the gabapentin (Gpn) bidentate drug ligand were synthesized and studied using elemental analyses, melting temperatures, molar conductivity, UV–Vis, magnetic measurements, FTIR, and surface morphology (scanning (SEM) and transmission (TEM) electron microscopes). The gabapentin ligand was shown to form monobasic metal:ligand (1:1) stoichiometry complexes with the metal ions Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Mn(II). Molar conductance measurements in dimethyl-sulfoxide solvent with a concentration of 10−3 M correlated to a non-electrolytic character for all of the produced complexes. A deformed octahedral environment was proposed for all metal complexes. Through the nitrogen atom of the –NH2 group and the oxygen atom of the carboxylate group, the Gpn drug chelated as a bidentate ligand toward the Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, and Cu2+ metal ions. This coordination behavior was validated by spectroscopic, magnetic, and electronic spectra using the formulas of the [M(Gpn)(H2O)3(Cl)]·nH2O complexes (where n = 2–6).Transmission electron microscopy was used to examine the nanostructure of the produced gabapentin complexes. Molecular docking was utilized to investigate the comparative interaction between the Gpn drug and its four metal [Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Mn(II)] complexes as ligands using serotonin (6BQH) and dopamine (6CM4) receptors. AutoDock Vina results were further refined through molecular dynamics simulation, and molecular processes for receptor–ligand interactions were also studied. The B3LYP level of theory and LanL2DZ basis set was used for DFT (density functional theory) studies. The optimized geometries, along with the MEP map and HOMO → LUMO of the metal complexes, were studied.  相似文献
