A method for analysis of 20 commonly used pesticides in surface water based on solid-phase extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was proposed. During method development the key parameters that can affect SPE extraction and determination such as selection of efficient SPE sorbent, pH of water sample, type and volume of elution solvent, breakthrough volume and matrix effects were investigated. The method was validated using spring water spiked with appropriate concentration of pesticides. The obtained correlation coefficients were in range 0.9972–1.000, limits of detection (LOD) were 0.001–0.5?µg?L?1 and the limits of quantification (LOQ) were 0.005–1?µg?L?1 depending on a pesticide. Much higher LOD (20?µg?L?1) and LOQ (50?µg?L?1) values were obtained for bentazone. The influence of matrix was assessed using real water samples spiked with appropriate concentration of pesticide standards solution. Both signal enhancement and suppression were observed, depending on a pesticide, therefore standard addition method was used for pesticides determination. The developed method was applied on real water samples taken in close vicinity of agricultural fields. Many of the targeted pesticides were found in the samples and the results are presented in this article.  相似文献

Lucigenin chemiluminescence (CL) in conjunction with flow-injection analysis (FIA) is used for the determination of phosphate in freshwater samples. The procedure is based on the formation of molybdophosphoric heteropoly acid (MoP–HPA) by the reaction of phosphate and ammonium molybdate under acidic conditions. CL emission was observed as a result of oxidation of lucigenin in aqueous sodium hydroxide solution in the presence of MoP–HPA. Calibration was linear up to 500?µg?L?1 (r 2?=?0.9998; n?=?8), with a detection limit (S/N?=?3) of 0.95?µg?L?1. An injection throughput of 120 h?1, and relative standard deviation (RSD; n?=?4) of 1.3–3.2% were achieved in the concentration range studied. An on-line chelating column was used to remove interfering cations. The method was applied to freshwater samples, and the results (51?±?1.0 – 107?±?2.0?µg?L?1) did not differ significantly from results obtained using a spectrophotometric method (52.5?±?1.0 – 102?±?2.0?µg?L?1) at 95% confidence level (t-test).  相似文献

The development of a preconcentration method for the measurement of trace levels of mercury in digested sediments is described. Solid phase extraction (SPE) was used for the preconcentration of mercury coupled on-line by means of a flow injection (FI) system followed by cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS) detection. The SPE was carried out through a column packed with a sorbent material containing triisobutylphosphine sulfide (CYANEX 471X®) as mercury extractant and prepared by the sol-gel process. The effects of FI variables (argon, eluent, and reductant flow rates, loading and elution times) as well as the eluent concentration on the analytical performance of the method were evaluated. The proposed method was validated under the optimum conditions. The calibration graph was linear from 0.05?µg?L?1 to 3.0 µg?L?1 of Hg. The detection limit (DL), based on three times the standard deviation of the blank measurement criterion, was 24?ng?L?1. The repeatability was 1.5% and 1.8% RSD (n?=?10) at concentrations of 0.5 and 1 µg?L?1 of Hg, respectively. Method enrichment factors of 16 with a productivity of 30 samples h?1 or 32 with a productivity of 17 samples h?1 were achieved under selected conditions. Certified reference materials, inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) and cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectrometry (CVAFS), were used to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this study, a practicable and effective analytical method based on solid-phase-extraction and reversed-phase liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (SPE-LC-FLD) was developed and partially validated for routine analysis of eight FQs in wastewater at the trace level. Different SPE materials, pH conditions and eluents were modified to find an economic and effective SPE conditions. In our work, it is the first time that well-known commercially available SPE sorbent are compared to ‘generic’ cheap SPE sorbent. Aqueous samples (pH 2–3) were extracted using Anpel? MEP cartridges where they were subsequently eluted by 6?mL of 2% formic acid in MeOH. The aqueous extracts were analysed by gradient elution LC-FLD, whose initial mobile phase was composed of ACN and 10?mmol?L?1 tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (4/96, v/v, pH 3). The LODs and LOQs of the wastewater were as low as 0.32–2.12?ng?L?1 and 1.07–7.07?ng?L?1, respectively. The precisions of the overall method (RSD, n?=?3) using wastewater were below 10%. The method was used to quantify FQs in influents and effluents of several typical sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Shanghai. The extraction recoveries of 100?mL influent, 500?mL effluent and 500?mL of river water samples were between 88.6 and 102.6%, 79.2 and 109.2%, 80.0 and 105.5% and 87.4 and 99.4%, respectively. FQs of interest except sarafloxacin were identified in the influents, effluents and river waters with concentrations varying from 0.012–1.163?µg?L?1, 0.003–0.291?µg?L?1, and 0.002–0.040?µg?L?1, respectively. The method can serve as a tool to obtain detailed information on occurrence, behaviour and fate of FQs in the aquatic environment. Occurrence of FQs detected in summer is higher than in spring at STPs, and those detected in the suburban area are less than those in the urban area. Complete removal of FQs is not achieved from the STPs, indicating domestic wastewater and STP discharge is the source of FQs in the surface water.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method is presented for solid phase extraction (SPE) and preconcentration of trace quantities of beryllium using octadecyl silica gel modifed with aurin tricarboxylic acid (aluminon). Beryllium is then determined by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy. Parameters affecting SPE such as pH, sample solution and eluent flow rate, type, concentration and volume of eluent, interfering ions and breakthrough volume, were investigated. Under optimal conditions, the beryllium ions were retained on the sorbent at pH 6–6.7, while 3.0 mL of 0.05 mol L?1 HNO3 is sufficient to elute the ions. The limit of detection (LOD) based on 3σ was 0.8 µg L?1 for 250 mL sample solution and 5 mL 0.05 mol L?1 HNO3 as eluent. The LOD can reach 0.1 µg L?1 for 1 L sample solution and 3 mL of 0.05 mol L?1 HNO3. The accuracy and precision (RSD %) of the method is >90% and <10%, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of beryllium in aqueous samples.  相似文献

In this paper, a procedure for the determination of 11 aromatic hydrocarbon-type sensitisers and their related compounds from water samples, used in the manufacture of thermal paper, is presented. The compounds were extracted using a solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridge with an octadecyl (C18) or a phenyl-bonded silica (PH) sorbent and then determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Factors affecting the performance of the extraction steps were thoroughly evaluated, and their effects on the yield of the sample preparation were discussed. Under optimised experimental conditions, SPE cartridges were conditioned with 10?mL hexane followed subsequently by 10?mL methanol, loaded with water sample at 2?mL?min?1, and eluted with 10?mL hexane at 1.5?mL?min?1. The limits of detection and quantification, calculated for signal-to-noise ratios of 3 and 10, were in the range of 1–5?µg?L–1 and 2.5–10?µg?L–1, respectively. Recovery yields of the present method using river water were in the range of 88%–112% with a C18 sorbent and 86%–116% with a PH sorbent. The repeatability, expressed as a relative standard deviation, was in the range of 2.8%–11% with a C18 sorbent and 0.7%–9.7% with a PH sorbent (n?=?4). Analysis of paper mill effluents revealed the presence of aromatic hydrocarbon-type sensitisers with maximum concentrations of up to 5.2?µg?L?1.  相似文献

AgSIE was used for the direct analysis of folic acid (FA), with a detection limit and lower level of quantitation of 6.8×10?10 mol L?1 and 2.3×10?8 mol L?1. The analysis in fresh and processed fruits was done without any sample pretreatment. In strawberry and acerola juices, FA concentration level values were below the method detection limit. FA was detectable in peach (77.7±0.4 µg L?1 and 64.4±0.5 µg L?1), Persian lime (45.4±0.7 µg L?1), pineapple Hawaii (66.2±0.4 µg L?1), pear pineapple (35.3±0.6 µg L?1), cashew (54.4±0.5 µg L?1), passion fruit (73.2±0.3 µg L?1), and apple (84.4±0.5 µg L?1).  相似文献

Screen‐printed electrodes (SPEs) are cheap and disposable. But their application for heavy metal detection is limited due to the low sensitivity and poor selectivity. Here we report the ultrasensitive and simultaneous determination of Zn2+, Cd2+ and Pb2+ on a multiwalled carbon nanotubes and Nafion composite modified SPE with in situ plated bismuth film (MWCNTs/NA/Bi/SPE). The linear curves range from 0.5–100 µg L?1 for Zn2+ and 0.5–80 µg L?1 for Cd2+. Uniquely, the linear curve for Pb2+ ranges from 0.05–100 µg L?1 with a detection limit of 0.01 µg L?1. The practical application was verified in real samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

In the present work, a sensitive, facile and disposable sensing platform for trace analysis of heavy metal ions was developed at the Bi modified graphene‐poly(sodium 4‐styrenesulfonate) composite film screen printed electrode (GR/PSS/Bi/SPE). The GR/PSS/Bi/SPE improved sensitivity and linearity due to the functionalization of graphene with negatively charged PSS providing more absorbing sites. The detection limit of the GR/PSS/Bi/SPE is found to be 0.042 µg L?1 for Cd2+ and 0.089 µg L?1 for Pb2+ with linear responses of Cd2+ and Pb2+ in the range of 0.5–120 µg L?1. Finally, the practical application was confirmed in real water with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A simple, rapid and efficient method, dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) in conjunction with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), has been developed for the determination of three carbamate pesticides (methomyl, carbofuran and carbaryl) in water samples. In this extraction process, a mixture of 35 µL chlorobenzene (extraction solvent) and 1.0 mL acetonitrile (disperser solvent) was rapidly injected into the 5.0 mL aqueous sample containing the analytes. After centrifuging (5 min at 4000 rpm), the fine droplets of chlorobenzene were sedimented in the bottom of the conical test tube. Sedimented phase (20 µL) was injected into the HPLC for analysis. Some important parameters, such as kind and volume of extraction and disperser solvent, extraction time and salt addition were investigated and optimised. Under the optimum extraction condition, the enrichment factors and extraction recoveries ranged from 148% to 189% and 74.2% to 94.4%, respectively. The methods yielded a linear range in the concentration from 1 to 1000 µg L?1 for carbofuran and carbaryl, 5 to 1000 µg L?1 for methomyl, and the limits of detection were 0.5, 0.9 and 0.1 µg L?1, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSD) for the extraction of 500 µg L?1 carbamate pesticides were in the range of 1.8–4.6% (n = 6). This method could be successfully applied for the determination of carbamate pesticides in tap water, river water and rain water.  相似文献

This paper describes our research on the synthesis of the sorbent with chemically bonded ketoimine groups, and, furthermore, using this sorbent in the SPE technique to extract and preconcentrate trace amounts of metal ions in water samples. Surface characteristics of the sorbent were determined by elemental analysis, NMR spectra for the solid phases (29Si CP MAS NMR), and analysis of pore size distribution of the sorbent and nitrogen adsorption-desorption. The newly proposed sorbent with ketoimine groups was applied for the extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts of Cu (II), Cr (III) and Zn (II) ions from the water from a lake, post-industrial water and purified water unburdened back to the lake. The determination of the transition-metal ions was performed on an emission spectroscope with inductively coupled plasma ICP-OES. For the batch method, the optimum pH range for Cu (II) and Cr (III) extraction was equal to 5, and Zn(II)–to 8. All the metal ions can be desorbed from SPE columns with 10?mL of 0.5?mol?HNO3. The detection limits of the method were found to be 0.7?µg?L?1 for Cu (II), 0.08?µg?L?1 for Cr (III), and 0.2?µg?L?1 for Zn (II), respectively.  相似文献

A sensitive and simple method for determination of chromium species after separation and preconcentration by solid phase extraction (SPE) has been developed. For the determination of the total concentration of chromium in solution, Cr(VI) was efficiently reduced to Cr(III) by addition of hydroxylamine and Cr(III) was preconcentrated on a column of immobilised ferron on alumina. The adsorbed analyte was then eluted with 5?mL of hydrochloric acid and was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometery. The speciation of chromium was affected by first passing the solution through an acidic alumina column which retained Cr(VI) and then Cr(III) was preconcentrated by immobilised ferron column and determined by FAAS. The concentration of Cr(VI) was determined from the difference of concentration of total chromium and Cr(III). The effect of pH, concentration of eluent, flow rate of sample and eluent solution, and foreign ions on the sorption of chromium (III) by immobilised ferron column was investigated. Under the optimised conditions the calibration curve was linear over the range of 2–400?µg?L?1 for 1000?mL preconcentration volume. The detection limit was 0.32?µg?L?1, the preconcentration factor was 400, and the relative standard deviation (%RSD) was 1.9% (at 10?µg?L?1; n?=?7). The method was successfully applied to the determination of chromium species in water samples and total chromium in standard alloys.  相似文献

A rapid and sensitive method has been developed for the determination of biphenyl and biphenyl oxide in water samples using dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction followed by gas chromatography. This method involves the use of an appropriate mixture of extraction solvent (8.0?µL tetrachloroethylene) and disperser solvent (1.0?mL acetonitrile) for the formation of cloudy solution in 5.0?mL aqueous sample containing biphenyl and biphenyl oxide. After extraction, phase separation was performed by centrifugation and biphenyl and biphenyl oxide in sedimented phase (5.0?±?0.3?µL) were determined by gas chromatography-flame ionisation (GC-FID) system. Type of extraction and disperser solvents and their volumes, salt effect on the extraction recovery of biphenyl and biphenyl oxide from aqueous solution have been investigated. Under the optimum conditions and without salt addition, the enrichment factors for biphenyl and biphenyl oxide were 819 and 785, while the extraction recovery were 81.9% and 78.5%, respectively. The linear range was (0.125–100?µg L?1) and limit of detection was (0.015?µg?L?1) for both analytes. The relative standard deviation (RSD, n?=?4) for 5.0?µg?L?1 of analytes were 8.4% and 6.7% for biphenyl and biphenyl oxide, respectively. The relative recoveries of biphenyl and biphenyl oxide from sea, river water and refined water (Paksan company) samples at spiking level of 5.0?µg?L?1 were between 85.0% and 100 %.  相似文献

A liquid-phase microextraction (LPME) method was employed for preconcentration of selenium as piazselenol complex in aqueous samples. The samples reacted with o-phenylenediamine in 0.1?M HCl at 90°C for 15?min, and then LPME was performed. A microdrop of carbon tetrachloride was applied as the extracting solvent. After extraction, the microdrop was introduced directly into the injection port of gas chromatography for analysis. Several important extraction parameters such as the type of organic solvent, sample and organic drop volumes, salt concentration, stirring rate, and exposure time were controlled and optimized. In the proposed LPME, the extraction was achieved by suspending a 3?µL carbon tetrachloride drop from the tip of a microsyringe immersed in 12.5?mL of aqueous solution. Under optimized conditions, a dynamic linear range was obtained in the range of 20–1000?µg?L?1. The preconcentration factor and the limit of detection of selenium in this method were 91 and 0.9?µg?L?1, respectively. The optimized procedure was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of selenium in different types of real samples. The relative standard deviations for the spiking levels of 50–100?µg?L?1 in the real samples were in the range of 3.2–6.1%, and the relative errors were located in the range of ?5.4 to 5%.  相似文献

A flow-based procedure with solenoid micro-pumps was developed for phosphorus fractionation (dissolved organic and inorganic phosphorus) in freshwaters. The spectrophotometric detection was based on the formation of molybdenum blue and the organic species were on-line photo-converted to orthophosphate. The analytical response was linear within 10 and 75?µg?L?1 with a detection limit of 2.0?µg?L?1 (99.7% confidence level). Coefficient of variation of 1.8% (50?µg?L?1 P, n?=?20) and sampling rate of 40 determinations per hour were achieved. Per determination, 160?µg (NH4)6Mo7O24, 10?µg SnCl2, 640?µg K2S2O8 and 10?mg NaOH were consumed, generating 2.0?mL of waste. Slopes of analytical curves obtained for four different organic phosphorus species agreed with those obtained for orthophosphate, indicating quantitative conversion. The results for freshwater samples agreed with those obtained by the AOAC reference procedure at 95% confidence level. The organic matter did not interfere in the photo-oxidative process. The proposed procedure is a fast and environmentally friendly alternative for the phosphorus fractionation in freshwaters.  相似文献

A new, rapid, and simple method is proposed for the determination of the pesticide napropamide by photo-induced chemiluminescence detection coupled with a flow injection analysis (FIA) system. The emission was obtained by oxidation with periodate in basic medium, of the photoproducts generated on-line by UV irradiation (254 nm) of napropamide in acidic SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) medium. The flow method, in combination with the solid phase extraction (SPE) performed off-line with C18 cartridges, allowed the determination of this pesticide over the 0.8–14.0 µ gL?1 range, with a limit of detection of 0.3 µ gL?1. The relative standard deviation (n = 9) at 2.5 µ gL?1 level was 4.3% for the combined FIA-SPE system. After testing the influence of several potential interfering compounds, including ions and other pesticides, the method was successfully applied to the determination of napropamide in spiked water samples with recoveries between 96–103%.  相似文献

Benzylsuccinic acid (BSA) and methylbenzylsuccinic acids (mBSAs) are unambiguous indicators of anaerobic toluene and ethylbenzene/xylene degradation, and so the determination of these compounds in landfill leachates and contaminated groundwater is highly relevant. Samples were diluted to <0.8?mS?cm?1 in order to reduce their ionic strength, and subsequently extracted through strong anion exchange disks, followed by simultaneous in-vial elution and methylation. A detection limit of 0.1?µg?L?1 was obtained for 100?mL samples. Using this method, 19.3?µg?L?1 of BSA was measured in a landfill leachate, and low µg?L?1 levels of all of the mBSAs were measured in gasoline-contaminated groundwater. The results were compared with the findings of BSAs at 16 other contaminated sites, and BSAs as indicators of biodegradation were evaluated. The estimation of biodegradation rates based on parent hydrocarbons and BSA concentrations or ratios is questionable. However, the degradation products serve as good qualitative in situ indicators for anaerobic biodegradation in contaminated groundwater.  相似文献

A simple and reliable method has been developed for the rapid analysis of trace levels of malachite green from water samples using dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction and high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection. Factors relevant to the microextraction efficiency, such as the type and volume of extraction solvent, nature and volume of the disperser solvent, the effect of salt, sample solution temperature and the extraction time were investigated and optimised. Under the optimal conditions the linear dynamic range of malachite green was from 0.2 to 100.0?µg?L?1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9962. The detection limit and limit of quantification were 0.1?µg?L?1 and 0.3?µg?L?1, respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 2.6% (n?=?5) and the recoveries of malachite green (5.0?µg?L?1) from water samples were in the range of 99.2?±?1.7%. Finally the proposed method was successfully applied for the analysis of malachite green from fish farming water samples.  相似文献

Almond skin was used as a biosorbent by solid-phase extraction for the preconcentration of manganese(II) before the determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Characterization of almond skin was performed by infrared spectroscopy. The functional groups of the almond skin surface were shown to be beneficial for the adsorption of manganese(II). At pH 6.0, the manganese(II) ions were retained on the almond skin and afterward quantitatively eluted using 1.5?mol?L?1 nitric acid. The pH, flow rate and volume of sample, concentration, and flow rate of eluent and interfering ions were characterized. Using a sample size of 30?mL, a linear dynamic range of 1–120?µg?L?1 was obtained. A detection limit of 0.24?µg?L?1 manganese(II) and a relative standard deviation of 1.6% at 30?µg?L?1 were achieved. The accuracy of the present procedure was evaluated by the determination of manganese(II) in a certified reference material (GSB07-1189-2000). The protocol was also used for the determination of manganese(II) in wastewater. The fortified recoveries were from 99.0 to 99.4%.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to develop a method for the characterization of internal exposure to arsenic, which is thought to play a role in the development of a kidney disease, known as Balkan Endemic Nephropathy, typical for a district in Bulgaria, and to investigate whether the As body burden differs in the offspring versus control individuals. For this case study, an analytical procedure for the determination of toxicologically relevant arsenic (the sum of arsenite, arsenate, monomethylarsonate, and dimethylarsinate) in urine by batch-type hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry was developed. Optimization experiments for levelling off the sensitivity of inorganic arsenic and its mono- and dimethylated species in dilute HCl–L-cysteine medium were performed. The limit of detection for hydride forming arsenic fraction was 0.5?ng As, i.e. 0.25?µg?L?1 in 10?mL of 1?+?4 v/v diluted urine. The relative standard deviation was typically 1.5–1.8% for aqueous solution and 2–6% for urine samples at 1.0?µg?L?1 As. The sample throughput rate was 15?h?1. No statistical correlation and cross-correlation between individuals case-control and sex at 95% confidence were found: controls (n?=?99), mean 3.5?±?2.1 (SD), range 0.9–10.4, median 3.0?µg?L?1 As and cases (n?=?102), mean 3.6?±?2.2 (SD), range 0.5–11.0, median 3.2?µg?L?1 As. On the basis of this study, arsenic can be excluded as a factor involved in BEN development.  相似文献
