 We consider homogeneous spaces G/K with G a simple compact Lie group, endowed with an arbitrary G-invariant Riemannian metric. We classify those spaces where the action of K on G/K is polar and show that such spaces are locally symmetric. Moreover we give a classification of pairs (G,K) with G compact semisimple such that K has polar linear isotropy representation. We use properties of small resolutions of the ordinary double point in dimension three to construct smooth non-liftable Calabi-Yau threefolds. In particular, we construct a smooth projective Calabi-Yau threefold over \mathbbF3{\mathbb{F}_3} that does not lift to characteristic zero and a smooth projective Calabi-Yau threefold over \mathbbF5{\mathbb{F}_5} having an obstructed deformation. We also construct many examples of smooth Calabi-Yau algebraic spaces over \mathbbFp{\mathbb{F}_p} that do not lift to algebraic spaces in characteristic zero.  相似文献

Decomposable mappings from the space of symmetric k-fold tensors over E, , to the space of k-fold tensors over F, , are those linear operators which map nonzero decomposable elements to nonzero decomposable elements. We prove that any decomposable mapping is induced by an injective linear operator between the spaces on which the tensors are defined. Moreover, if the decomposable mapping belongs to a given operator ideal, then so does its inducing operator. This result allows us to classify injective linear operators between spaces of homogeneous approximable polynomials and between spaces of nuclear polynomials which map rank-1 polynomials to rank-1 polynomials.  相似文献

The paper discusses the relation between the cardinalities of linear spaces over a number field F and the cardinality of F, and obtains the result that the cardinality of a countable dimensional linear space V(F) equals the cardinality of the number field F. Minihypers are substructures of projective spaces introduced to study linear codes meeting the Griesmer bound. Recently, many results in finite geometry were obtained by applying characterization results on minihypers (De Beule et al. 16:342–349, 2008; Govaerts and Storme 4:279–286, 2004; Govaerts et al. 28:659–672, 2002). In this paper, using characterization results on certain minihypers, we present new results on tight sets in classical finite polar spaces and weighted m-covers, and on weighted m-ovoids of classical finite generalized quadrangles. The link with minihypers gives us characterization results of i-tight sets in terms of generators and Baer subgeometries contained in the Hermitian and symplectic polar spaces, and in terms of generators for the quadratic polar spaces. We also present extendability results on partial weighted m-ovoids and partial weighted m-covers, having small deficiency, to weighted m-covers and weighted m-ovoids of classical finite generalized quadrangles. As a particular application, we prove in an alternative way the extendability of 53-, 54-, and 55-caps of PG(5,3), contained in a non-singular elliptic quadric Q(5,3), to 56-caps contained in this elliptic quadric Q(5,3).   相似文献

The Kurzweil integral technique is applied to a class of rate independent processes with convex energy and discontinuous inputs. We prove existence, uniqueness, and continuous data dependence of solutions in BV spaces. It is shown that in the context of elastoplasticity, the Kurzweil solutions coincide with natural limits of viscous regularizations when the viscosity coefficient tends to zero. The discontinuities produce an additional positive dissipation term, which is not homogeneous of degree one.   相似文献

We define two-wavelet localization operators in the setting of homogeneous spaces. We prove that they are in the trace class S 1 and give a trace formula for them. Then we show that two-wavelet operators on locally compact and Hausdorff groups endowed with unitary and square-integrable representations, general Daubechies operators and two-wavelet multipliers can be seen as two-wavelet localization operators on appropriate homogeneous spaces. Thus we give a unifying view concerning the three classes of linear operators. We derive Banach-Stone theorems for spaces of homogeneous polynomials. We show that every isometric isomorphism between the spaces of homogeneous approximable polynomials on real Banach spaces E and F is induced by an isometric isomorphism of E onto F. With an additional geometric condition we obtain the analogous result in the complex case. Isometries between spaces of homogeneous integral polynomials and between the spaces of all n-homogeneous polynomials are also investigated.  相似文献

We compute two-sided second-order epi-derivatives for certain composite functionals f=gF where F is a C 1 mapping between two Banach spaces X and Y, and g is a convex extended real-valued function on Y. These functionals include most essential objectives associated with smooth constrained minimization problems on Banach spaces. Our proof relies on our development of a formula for the second-order upper epi-derivative that mirrors a formula for a second-order lower epi-derivative from [7], and the two-sided results we obtain promise to support a more precise sensitivity analysis of parameterized optimization problems than has been previously possible.  相似文献

This paper studies differential square zero extensions and differential modules of a commutative differential algebra R over a differential field F where the field of constants of F is algebraically closed and of characteristic 0. All elements of R and the differential R modules and algebras considered are assumed to satisfy linear homogeneous differential equations over F. In this paper, the authors consider the boundedness of generalized higher commutator of Marcinkiewicz integral μΩ^b, multilinear Marcinkiewicz integral μΩ^A and its variation μΩ^A on Herz-type Hardy spaces, here Ω is homogeneous of degree zero and satisfies a class of L^s-Dini condition.
