An in-situ Raman spectroscopic study was conducted to explore the pressure induced phase transformation of spinel-type ferrite ZnFe2O4. Results indicate that ferrite ZnFe2O4 initially transforms to an orthorhombic structure phase (CaFe2O4-polymorph) at a pressure of 24.6 GPa. Such a phase transformation is complete at 34.2 GPa, and continuously remains stable to the peak pressure of 61.9 GPa. The coexistence of the two phases over a wide range of pressure implies a sluggish mechanism upon the spinel-to-orthorhombic phase transition. Upon release of pressure, the high pressure ZnFe2O4 polymorph is quenchable at ambient conditions.  相似文献

We report the results of an X-ray diffraction study of CdAl2Se4 and of Raman studies of HgAl2Se4 and ZnAl2Se4 at room temperature, and of CdAl2S4 and CdAl2Se4 at 80 K at high pressure. The ambient pressure phase of CdAl2Se4 is stable up to a pressure of 9.1 GPa above which a phase transition to a disordered rock salt phase is observed. A fit of the volume pressure data to a Birch-Murnaghan type equation of state yields a bulk modulus of 52.1 GPa. The relative volume change at the phase transition at ∼9 GPa is about 10%. The analysis of the Raman data of HgAl2Se4 and ZnAl2Se4 reveals a general trend observed for different defect chalcopyrite materials. The line widths of the Raman peaks change at intermediate pressures between 4 and 6 GPa as an indication of the pressure induced two stage order-disorder transition observed in these materials. In addition, we include results of a low temperature Raman study of CdAl2S4 and CdAl2Se4, which shows a very weak temperature dependence of the Raman-active phonon modes.  相似文献

A laser-heated sample in a diamond anvil cell and synchrotron X-ray radiation was used to carry out structural characterization of the phase transformation of Fe2O3 at high pressures (30-96 GPa) and high temperature. The Rh2O3(II) (or orthorhombic perovskite) structure transforms to a new phase, which exhibits X-ray diffraction data that are indicative of a CaIrO3-type structure. The CaIrO3-type structure exhibited an orthorhombic symmetry (space group: Cmcm) that was stable at temperatures of 1200-2800 K and pressure of 96 GPa (the highest pressure used). Unambiguous assignment of such a structure requires experimental evidence for the presence of two Fe species. Based on the equation of state of gold, the phase boundary of the CaIrO3-type phase transformation was P (GPa)=59+0.0022×(T−1200) (K).  相似文献

The crystal structure and chemical composition of a crystal of MgCr2O4 post-spinel phase synthesized in the model system Mg3Cr2Si3O12–Mg4Si4O12 at 23 GPa and 1600 °C have been investigated. Electron microprobe analysis confirmed the MgCr2O4 stochiometry of the studied phase. The compound was found to crystallize with the orthorhombic calcium-titanate (CaTi2O4) structure type, space group Bbmm, with lattice parameters a=9.468(1), b=9.670(1), c=2.845(1) Å, V=260.5(1) Å3, and Z=4. The structure was refined to R1=0.046 using 286 independent reflections. Magnesium was found to fully occupy the eightfold-coordinated A site (with a mean bond distance of 2.289 Å) and Cr the octahedral B site (mean: 1.986 Å). The successful synthesis of MgCr2O4 with (CaTi2O4)-type structure and its structural characterization demonstrate the stability of the new post-spinel phase. The absence of MgCr2O4 compounds with spinel structure coexisting with the post-spinel phase in the investigated run is discussed.  相似文献

We investigated the behavior of the structure of titanium hydride (TiH2), an important compound in hydrogen storage research, at elevated temperatures (0-120 °C) and high pressures (1 bar-34 GPa). Temperature-induced changes of TiH2 as indicated in the alteration of the ambient X-ray demonstrated a cubic to tetragonal phase transition occurring at about 17 °C. The main focus of this study was to identify any pressure-induced structural transformations, including possible phase transitions, in TiH2. Synchrotron X-ray diffraction studies were carried out in situ (diamond anvil cell) in a compression sequence up to 34 GPa and in subsequent decompression to ambient pressure. The pressure evolution of the diffraction patterns revealed a cubic (Fm-3m) to tetragonal (I4/mmm) phase transition at 2.2 GPa. The high-pressure phase persisted up to 34 GPa. After decompression to ambient conditions the observed phase transition was completely reversible. A Birch-Murnaghan fit of the unit cell volume as a function of pressure yielded a zero-pressure bulk modulus K0=146(14) GPa, and its pressure derivative K0=6(1) for the high-pressure tetragonal phase of TiH2.  相似文献

Electrical conduction and crystal structure of Al2(WO4)3 at 400 °C have been studied as a function of pressure up to 5.5 GPa using impedance methods and synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction, respectively. AC impedance spectroscopy and DC polarization measurements reveal an ionic to electronic dominant transition in electrical conductivity at a pressure as low as 0.9 GPa. Conductivity increases with pressure and reaches a maximum at 4.0 GPa, where the conductivity value is 5 orders of magnitude greater than the 1 atm value. Upon decompression, the conductivity retains the maximum value until the sample is cooled at 0.5 GPa. The high pressure-temperature X-ray diffraction results show that the lattice parameters decrease as pressure increases and the crystal structure undergoes an orthorhombic to tetragonal-like transformation at a pressure ∼3.0 GPa. The change of conduction mechanism from ionic to electronic may be explained by means of pressure-induced valence change of W6+→W5+, which results in electron transfer between W5+-W6+ sites at high pressure.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy of CaSO4 are conducted to pressures of 28 and 25 GPa, respectively. A reversible phase transition to the monoclinic monazite-structure occurs gradually between 2 and ∼5 GPa with a highly pressure-dependent volume change of ∼6-8%. A second-order fit of the X-ray data to the Birch-Murnaghan equation of state yields a bulk modulus (K) of 151.2 (±21.4) GPa for the high-pressure monoclinic phase. In the high-pressure infrared spectrum, the infrared-active asymmetric stretching and bending vibrations of the sulfate tetrahedra split at the phase transition, in accord with the results of factor group analysis. Additionally, the tetrahedral symmetric stretching vibration, which is weak in the anhydrite phase, becomes strongly resolved at the transition to the monazite structure. The infrared results indicate that the sulfate tetrahedra are more distorted in the monazite-structured phase than in anhydrite. Kinetic calculations indicate that the anhydrite to monazite transformation may generate the phase transition observed near 30 GPa under shock loading in CaSO4. Our results indicate that the anhydrite- and monazite-structured phases may be the only phases that occur under shock loading of CaSO4 to pressures in excess of 100 GPa.  相似文献

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) on 63Cu nuclei was performed in a pressure-induced superconductor Sr2Ca12Cu24O41 at an optimum pressure of 3.8 GPa. A pressure of 3.8 GPa was achieved by improving a piston-cylinder-type pressure cell and developing a NMR probe with a steady-load control system. We found that the spin gap still exists even at the optimum pressure. The spin gap was almost the same at pressures below 3.5 GPa on the pressure-temperature phase diagram, whereas it decreased rather drastically above 3.5 GPa.  相似文献

Results of angle dispersive X-ray diffraction (ADXRD) measurements on the defect chalcopyrites (DCP), HgAl2Se4 and CdAl2S4 up to 22.2 and 34 GPa, respectively, are reported. The ambient tetragonal phase is retained in HgAl2Se4 and CdAl2S4 up to 13 and 9 GPa respectively. The values of the bulk modulus estimated from the Equation of State is 66(1.5) and 44.6(1) GPa for HgAl2Se4 and CdAl2S4 in the chalcopyrite phase. At higher pressure a disordered rock-salt structure and on pressure release a disordered zinc blende structure with broad X-ray diffraction lines are observed as is the case for several defect chalcopyrites.  相似文献

We measured the heat capacity of CeIrSi3 (100 mK<T<6 K) under high pressure up to P=1.38 GPa. The measurements have been used a quasiadiabatic method utilizing a CuBe piston-cylinder pressure cell in a dilution refrigerator. At 0 GPa, a sharp anomaly which indicates the antiferromagnetically transition is observed at TN=5 K. TN decreases monotonically with increasing pressure up to P=1.38 GPa. The magnetic entropy is released below TN only 19% of R ln 2 at 0 GPa. And the magnetic entropy decreases with increasing pressure up to 1.38 GPa, 64% compared to that at 0 GPa.  相似文献

ZnFe2O4 was prepared by a soft mechanochemical route from two starting combinations of powders: (1) Zn(OH)2/α-Fe2O3 and (2) Zn(OH)2/Fe(OH)3 mixed in a planetary ball mill. The mechanochemical treatment provoked reaction leading to the formation of the ZnFe2O4 spinel phase that was monitored by XRD, TEM, IR and Raman spectroscopy. The spinel phase was first observed after 4 h of milling and its formation was completed after 18 h in both the cases of starting precursors. The synthesized ZnFe2O4 has a nanocrystalline structure with a crystallite size of about 20.3 and 17.6 nm, for the cases (1) and (2), respectively. In the far-infrared reflectivity spectra are seen four active modes. Raman spectra suggest an existence of mixed spinel structure in the obtained nanosamples. In order to confirm phase formation and cation arrangement, Mössbauer measurements were done. Estimated degree of inversion is about 0.58 for both starting mixtures. The magnetic properties of the prepared ZnFe2O4 powders were also studied. The results show that the samples have a typical superparamagnetic-like behavior at room temperature. Higher values of magnetization in the case of samples obtained with starting mixture (2) suggest somewhat higher degree of cation inversion.  相似文献

Proton-deuteron mutual diffusion in a CsHSO4/CsDSO4 solid at 373 K was examined up to 3 GPa by an infrared mapping measurement. Phases HPHT1 and HPHT2 appeared at 1.5 and 2.3 GPa, respectively, after heating. These phases were found to be stable at room temperature, while phase IV, which appeared on compression at room temperature, was metastable. The pressure dependence of the proton-deuteron mutual diffusion coefficient was determined from the temporal change in the deuteron distribution of the solid. The coefficient decreased from 7×10−16 to 1×10−16 m2/s during the transition from phase II to HPHT1 at 1.5 GPa, and showed no significant change during the transition to phase HPHT2. These results suggested that in addition to the hydrogen bond length, other structural factors might also have had an influence on the rate of diffusion.  相似文献

The high pressure properties of icosahedral boron arsenide (B12As2) were studied by in situ X-ray diffraction measurements at pressures up to 25.5 GPa at room temperature. B12As2 retains its rhombohedral structure; no phase transition was observed in the pressure range. The bulk modulus was determined to be 216 GPa with the pressure derivative 2.2. Anisotropy was observed in the compressibility of B12As2c-axis was 16.2% more compressible than a-axis. The boron icosahedron plays a dominant role in the compressibility of boron-rich compounds.  相似文献

We have observed a pressure induced phase transition in KTbP2Se6 at about 9.2 GPa which was accompanied by a discontinuous jump of the absorption edge of about 0.5 eV into the red. We have proposed that the high pressure phase is due to charge transfer from the selenium to the phosphorous accompanied by the formation of a Se-Se bond. In order to exclude a model which involves a 4f-5d charge transfer in Tb, leading to the intervalence charge transfer from Tb3+P4+-Tb4+P3+,we have measured the pressure dependence of the luminescence of the crystal field split levels of the Tb-ion. A comparison of the pressure dependence of the luminescence spectra of KTb(MoO4)2 and KTbP2Se6 shows that such a charge transfer does not occur in KTbP2Se6.  相似文献

A Ti-rich oxide, (Ti0.50Zr0.26Mg0.14Cr0.10)∑=1.0O1.81, was synthesized at 8.8 GPa and 1600 °C using a multi-anvil apparatus. Its crystal structure at ambient conditions and compressibility up to 10.58 GPa were determined with single-crystal X-ray diffraction. This high-pressure phase is isomorphous with cubic zirconia (fluorite-type) with space group Fm3¯m and unit-cell parameters a=4.8830(5) Å and V=116.43(4) Å3. Like stabilized cubic zirconia, the structure of (Ti0.50Zr0.26Mg0.14Cr0.10)O1.81 is also relaxed, with all O atoms displaced from the (, , ) position along 〈1 0 0〉 by 0.319 Å and all cations from the (0, 0, 0) position along 〈1 1 1〉 by 0.203 Å. No phase transformation was detected within the experimental pressure range. Fitting the high-pressure data (V vs. P) to a third-order Birch-Murnaghan EOS yields K0=164(4) GPa, K′=4.3(7), and V0=116.38(3) Å3. The bulk modulus of (Ti0.50Zr0.26Mg0.14Cr0.10)O1.81 is significantly lower than that (202 GPa) determined experimentally for cubic TiO2 or that (~210 GPa) estimated for cubic ZrO2. This study demonstrates that cubic TiO2 may also be obtained by introducing various dopants, similar to the way cubic zirconia is stabilized below 2370 °C. Furthermore, (Ti0.50Zr0.26Mg0.14Cr0.10)O1.81 has the greatest ratio of Ti4+ content vs. vacant O2− sites of all doped cubic zirconia samples reported thus far, making it a more promising candidate for the development of electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

The high-pressure behavior of rhenium disulfide (ReS2) has been investigated to 51.0 GPa by in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction in a diamond anvil cell at room temperature. The results demonstrate that the ReS2 triclinic phase is stable up to 11.3 GPa, at which pressure the ReS2 transforms to a new high-pressure phase, which is tentatively identified with a hexagonal lattice in space group P6?m2. The high-pressure phase is stable up to the highest pressure in this study (51.0 GPa) and not quenchable upon decompression to ambient pressure. The compressibility of the triclinic phase exhibits anisotropy, meaning that it is more compressive along interlayer directions than intralayer directions, which demonstrates the properties of the weak interlayer van der Waals interactions and the strong intralayer covalent bonds. The largest change in the unit cell angles with increasing pressures is the increase of β, which indicates a rotation of the sulfur atoms around the rhenium atoms during the compression. Fitting the experimental data of the triclinic phase to the third-order Birch-Murnaghan EOS yields a bulk modulus of KOT=23±4 GPa with its pressure derivative KOT′= 29±8, and the second-order yields KOT=49±3 GPa.  相似文献

Phase transitions in CsHSO4 at pressures up to 2.5 GPa have been studied with the help of electrical impedance measurements. The phase boundaries have been identified with the help of calculated activation energies of electrical conductivity and dielectric relaxation time. The derived temperatures of phase transition from the low conductive phase II into super ionic phase I at pressure less than 1 GPa confirm the previous results of Ponyatovski? et al. (1985) [4] and Friesel et al. (1989) [27]. The phase diagram derived in this study for pressure larger than 1 GPa differs from the data of Ponyatovski? et al. (1985) [4]. The phase transitions IV-VI and VI-I occur at higher temperatures having significantly larger Clapeyron slope. The phase VII was not identified from heating cycle and appears only under cooling between phases I and VI. The phase VIII was detected at 2.5 GPa at T<350 K and only during heating.  相似文献

The solid solution behavior of the Ni(Fe1−nCrn)2O4 spinel binary is investigated in the temperature range 400-1200 °C. Non-ideal solution behavior, as exhibited by non-linear changes in lattice parameter with changes in n, is observed in a series of single-phase solids air-cooled from 1200 °C. Air-annealing for 1 year at 600 °C resulted in partial phase separation in a spinel binary having n=0.5. Spinel crystals grown from NiO, Fe2O3 and Cr2O3 reactants, mixed to give NiCrFeO4, by Ostwald ripening in a molten salt solvent, exhibited single-phase stability down to about 750 °C (the estimated consolute solution temperature, Tcs). A solvus exists below Tcs. The solvus becomes increasingly asymmetric at lower temperatures and extrapolates to n values of 0.2 and 0.7 at 300 °C. The extrapolated solvus is shown to be consistent with that predicted using a primitive regular solution model in which free energies of mixing are determined entirely from changes in configurational entropy at room temperature.  相似文献

The room-temperature Raman and infrared spectra of zirconium vanadate (ZrV 2O7) were observed up to pressures of 12 GPa and 5.7 GPa, respectively. The frequencies of the optically active modes at ambient pressure were calculated using direct methods and compared with experimental values. Average mode Grüneisen parameters were calculated for the Raman and infrared active modes. Changes in the spectra under pressure indicate a phase transition at ∼1.6 GPa, which is consistent with the previously observed α (cubic) to β (pseudo-tetragonal) phase transition, and changes in the spectra at ∼4 GPa are consistent with an irreversible transformation to an amorphous structure.  相似文献

In order to investigate the pressure effect on the magnetism in the layered cobaltites, positive muon spin rotation and relaxation μ+SR experiments have been carried out up to 1.3 GPa using c-aligned polycrystalline samples of [Ca2CoO3]0.62[CoO2] and [Ca2Co4/3Cu2/3O4]0.62[CoO2]. A transverse field μ+SR experiment indicates that the transition temperature to an incommensurate spin density wave IC-SDW state is independent of hydrostatic pressure up to 1.3 GPa for the both compounds. Furthermore, there are no changes in the spontanious muon precession frequency in zero field at 5 K even under 1.3 GPa. These results strongly suggest that the IC-SDW exists not in the rocksalt-type block ([Ca2CoO3] and/or [Ca2Co4/3Cu2/3O4]) but in the CoO2 plane.  相似文献
