New radical cation salts based on 2,5-bis(1,3-dithian-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDA-TTP) with copper(II) metal complex anions, β-(BDA-TTP)4Cu2Cl6 and (BDA-TTP)2CuCl4, were synthesized and structurally characterized. Single crystals were prepared by electrochemical oxidation of BDA-TTP under galvanostatic conditions. X-ray diffraction study demonstrated that the salts have a layered structure, in which the conducting BDA-TTP layers alternate with the [Cu2Cl6]2− or [CuCl4]2− anions. Both salts show the semiconductor-type temperature dependence of the conductivity. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 1, pp. 48–54, January, 2007.  相似文献

The synthesis, electrochemical properties, and molecular structure of a new pi-electron donor, 2,5-bis(1,3-dithian-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDA-TTP), is described. In contrast to the hitherto-known tetrachalcogenafulvalene pi-donors providing organic superconductors, this donor contains only the bis-fused 1,3-dithiole-2-ylidene unit as a pi-electron system, yet produces a series of ambient-pressure superconductors beta-(BDA-TTP)2X [X = SbF6 (magnetic T(c) = 6.9 K, resistive T(c) = 7.5 K), AsF6 (magnetic T(c) = 5.9 K, resistive T(c) = 5.8 K), and PF6 (magnetic T(c) = 5.9 K)], which are isostructural. The values of the intermolecular overlap integrals calculated on the donor layers of these superconductors suggest a two-dimensional (2D) electronic structure with loose donor packing. Tight-binding band calculations also indicate that these superconductors have the 2D band dispersion relations and closed Fermi surfaces.  相似文献

A novel conjugation-elongated bis(ethylenedithio)tetraselenafulvalene (BETS) type donor, 2,5-bis(4,5-ethylenedithio-1,3-diselenol-2-ylidene)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydrothiophene (BEDT-HBDST) and its magnetic and non-magnetic anion salts, (BEDT-HBDST)2MX4 (MX4=FeCl4, GaCl4, FeBr4 and GaBr4), were prepared. These four salts are isostructural and belong to the space group of P2/c. They showed semiconducting behavior with small activation energies (59-64 meV). The band structures of these salts are quasi one-dimensional and there is a midgap between the upper band and the lower band, since the degree of dimerization is significant in the stacking direction. The MX4 ions are located between the donor columns and near to the ethylenedithio moieties of the donor molecules. The magnetic susceptibilities of the FeCl4 and FeBr4 salts follow the Curie-Weiss law with Curie constants of 4.6 and 4.8 emu K mol−1 (sum of the spins of S=5/2 and S=1/2) and negative Weiss temperatures of θ=−1.2 and −4.9 K, respectively, revealing a weak antiferromagnetic interaction of 3d spins of the FeCl4 and FeBr4 anions. The Fe?Fe (6.66-7.60 Å), Cl?Cl (4.81-4.82 Å) and Br?Br (4.74-4.77 Å) distances in the crystal structures of these salts are significantly long. Therefore, the direct magnetic interaction between the 3d spins of the nearest neighboring Fe3+ ions appears to be not readily accessible.  相似文献

New radical cation salts based on 2,5-bis(1,3-dithiolan-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDH-TTP), viz., κ-(BDH-TTP)4CuCl4·(H2O) n (1) and κ-(BDH-TTP)2[CuCl4]0.67· ·(H2O)0.33 (2), were synthesized and structurally characterized. Single crystals were prepared by the electrochemical oxidation of BDH-TTP under galvanostatic conditions. The X-ray diffraction study showed that the salts have layered structures characterized by the presence of κ-type BDH-TTP conducting layers. These layers alternate with the complex anions composed of [CuCl4]2− units and water molecules. Both salts exhibit the temperature dependence of the metallic conductivity down to 4.2 K. Spin-spin antiferromagnetic correlations in the Cu2+ subsystem were observed in the crystals of 2.  相似文献

Tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) is a kind of fused ring aromatic compound containing four sulfur atoms in one molecule, which is well known as a charge transport material. In order to calculate the charge mobility of this semiconductor, Marcus electron transfer theory and the embedded model, which can give small intramolecular reorganization energies, were employed. The calculated results were in good agreement with the experimental values, so the above computing model is appropriate to assess the electrical property of TTF. On this basis, we predicted the charge mobility of 2,5-bis(1,3-dithiolan-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDH-TTP) crystals, for which the molecular structure is similar to TTF. The calculated results indicated that BDH-TTP is a p-type material, which has a better performance than TTF in hole transfer due to larger hole coupling and the smaller hole injection barrier. In addition, the direct coupling (DC) and the site energy correction (SEC) methods were used to calculate the charge transfer integrals. Although the results were slightly different, the qualitative trends were the same. Furthermore we took into account the anisotropic transfer properties of TTF and BDH-TTF, since obviously the mobilities along one dimension are larger than those along three dimensions. Finally, natural bond orbital analysis was used to study the interactions in all of the dimers.  相似文献

The platelike crystals of a series of novel molecular conductors, which are based on the pi-donor molecules BDT-TTP (2,5-bis(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene) with a tetrathiapentalene skeleton and lanthanide nitrate complex anions [Ln(NO3)x](3-x)(Ln = La, Ce, (Pr), Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) with localized 4f magnetic moments, were synthesized. Except for the Ce complex, the salts were composed of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ln(NO(3))(5)] and were isostructural. Even though the Ce crystal had a different composition, (BDT-TTP)(6)[Ce(NO(3))(6)](C(2)H(5)OH)(x)() (x approximately 3), the crystals all had the space group P(-)1. Although the X-ray examination of the Pr salts was insufficient, the existence of two modifications was suggested in these systems by preliminary X-ray examination. Previously, we reported the crystal structures and unique magnetic properties of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ln(NO(3))(5)] (Ln = Sm, Eu, Nd, Gd). Thus, by combining the results of this work with previous one, we for the first time succeeded in obtaining a complete set of organic conductors composed of the identical pi-donors (BDT-TTP in this case) and all the lanthanide nitrate complex anions (except the complex with Pm(3+)). The crystals were all metallic down to 2 K. Electronic band structure calculations resulted in two-dimensional Fermi surfaces, which was consistent with their stable metallic states. Except for the Lu complex, which lacked paramagnetic moments, the magnetic susceptibilities were measured on the six heavy lanthanide ion complex salts by a SQUID magnetometer (Ln = Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb). The large paramagnetic susceptibilities, which were caused by the paramagnetic moments of the rare-earth ions, were obtained. The Curie-Weiss law fairly accurately reproduced the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibilities of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ho(NO(3))(5)] in the experimental temperature range (2-300 K) and a comparatively large Weiss temperature (|THETAV;|) was obtained (THETAV;(Ho) = -15 K). A Weiss temperature (THETAV;(Tm) = -8 K) was also obtained for Tm. The |THETAV;| values of other (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ln(NO(3))(5)] salts and (BDT-TTP)(6)[Ce(NO(3))(6)](C(2)H(5)OH)x(x approximately 3) were as follows: |THETAV;|/K = 4 (Er), < or =2 (Ce, Tb, Dy, Yb). The comparatively strong intermolecular magnetic interaction between Ho(3+) ions, which was suggested by the |THETAV;| value, is inconsistent with the traditional image of strongly localized 4f orbitals shielded by the electrons in the outer 5s and 5p orbitals. The dipole interactions between Ln(3+) ions causing the Curie-Weiss behavior and the comparatively large THETAV; value of (BDT-TTP)(5)[Ho(NO(3))(5)] is inconsistent with the data, since the complexes exhibit isostructural properties and there is not a clear relationship between the magnitudes of THETAV; values and those of magnetic moments. Therefore, it is possible that the 4f orbitals of Ho atom are sensitive to the ligand field, which will have an effect on the orbital moment of the Ho(3+) ion and/or produce a small amount of mixing between 4f and ligand orbitals to give rise to "real" intermolecular antiferromagnetic interaction through intermolecular overlapping between pi (BDT-TTP) and ligand orbitals of lanthanide nitrate complex anions.  相似文献

Several radical cation salts based on TMEO-ST-TTP (2-[4,5-bis(methylthio)-1,3-diselenol-2-ylidene]-5-(4,5-ethylendioxy-1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene) have been prepared. X-ray structure analyses of (TMEO-ST-TTP)2X (X=PF6, AsF6, TaF6) reveal that they have the so-called β-type array of donors with dimerized stacks. A tight-binding band calculation suggests that the present salts have a quasi-one-dimensional Fermi surface. On the other hand (TMEO-ST-TTP)Au(CN)2 has strongly dimerized one-dimensional electronic structure. (TMEO-ST-TTP)2X (X=PF6, AsF6, TaF6) exhibit a high conductivity of σrt=100-101S cm−1, and retain metallic conductivity down to 4.2K, while the tetrahedral (ReO4) and linear (I3 and Au(CN)2) anions give semiconductors. Thermoelectric power of (TMEO-ST-TTP)2PF6 shows T-linear temperature dependence characteristic of a metal.  相似文献

Bis-fused pi-electron donors composed of tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) and 2-(thiopyran-4-ylidene)-1,3-dithiole (TPDT), 2-(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-5-(thiopyran-4-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (1a, TPDT-TTP), and its derivatives (1b-d, 2a-d) have been synthesized as donor components for organic conductors. An X-ray structure analysis of bis(methylthio)-1 (1c) revealed that the TPDT-TTP skeleton is almost planar except for the outer 1,3-dithiole ring, and that the crystal has a two-dimensional "theta-type" arrangement of molecules. The cyclic voltammograms of TPDT-TTPs exhibit four pairs of single-electron redox waves. The first oxidation potential (E(1)) of 1a (+0.37 V vs SCE, in PhCN) is comparable to that of TTF (+0.35 V) and is higher by 0.1 V than that of TPDT (+0.27 V). The observed substituent effect on E(1) values suggests that the first one-electron oxidation mainly occurs in the 2-(thiopyran-4-ylidene)-1,3-dithiole (TPDT) moiety. On the other hand, on-site coulombic repulsion estimated from the E(2) - E(1) value is lower than in TTF and TPDT. MNDO MO calculations reveal that all the sulfur atoms in the 1,3-dithiole rings have the same phase in the HOMO, a condition necessary for realization of effective transverse intermolecular interaction. The present donors have produced many charge-transfer complexes and cation radical salts showing relatively high conductivity (sigma(rt) = 10(-)(1)-10(1) S cm(-)(1)), several of which display metallic temperature dependence.  相似文献

Single crystals of [Cu(men)2(BF4)2] (men = N-methyl-1,2-diaminoethane) (1) were isolated from an aqueous-ethanolic system Cu2+-men-BF4. The crystal structure of 1 consists of [Cu(men)2(BF4)2] molecules. Copper ion exhibits usual distorted octahedral coordination; there are two coordinated men ligands in the equatorial plane with Cu-N bonds of 2.0451(12) and 2.0035(12) Å, while the axial positions are occupied by fluorine atoms from BF4 anions with Cu-F bond of 2.5091(11) Å. The packing of the [Cu(men)2(BF4)2] molecules is governed by N-H?F type hydrogen bonds. The measured ESR spectrum corroborated the presence of Jahn-Teller anisotropy of Cu(II) with g|| = 2.20 and g = 2.06. The magnetic studies in the temperature range 300-2 K reveal that 1 follows the Curie-Weiss law with parameters = 2.1612(1) and θ = −0.233(1) K suggesting the presence of weak antiferomagnetic interactions.  相似文献

Infrared and Raman spectra of 2,5-bis(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDT-TTP) and 1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene-2,5-dione (TTP-DO) are reported. The vibrational modes of TTP-DO are assigned with the aid of the depolarization ratio of solution Raman spectra, polarized reflection spectra and polarized Raman spectra. A D2h symmetry is assumed for the BDT-TTP molecule and its in-plane fundamental vibrations are assigned with the aid of the polarization ratio and the correlation with TTP-DO, tetrathiafulvalene (TTF), tetramethyltetrathiafulvalene (TMTTF) and bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF). Normal coordinate calculation with a modified internal valence force field was carried out for the in-plane fundamental vibrations of TTP-DO and BDT-TTP. Ab initio calculations of the normal modes of BDT-TTP0 and BDT-TTP+ are compared with the empirical analysis.  相似文献

The preparation, crystal structures, and optical and magnetic properties of two new charge-transfer salts kappa-(EDDH-TTP)(3)[Cr(phen)(NCS)(4)] x 2CH(2)Cl(2) (1) and kappa(21)-(BDH-TTP)(5)[Cr(phen)(NCS)(4)](2) x 2CH(2)Cl(2) (2), where phen = 1,10- phenanthroline, EDDH-TTP = 2-(4,5-ethylenedithio-1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-5-(1,3-dithiolan-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene, and BDH-TTP = 2,5-bis(1,3-dithiolan-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene, are reported. Crystal data: (1) monoclinic P2(1)/a, a = 25.0752(5) A, b = 10.6732(3) A, c = 28.1601(6) A, beta = 95.195(2) degrees, Z = 4, R = 0.0585 for 6741 independent reflections with I > 3 sigma(I); (2) monoclinic P2(1)/a, a = 23.8275(4) A, b = 9.1015 (2) A, c = 27.0420(1) A, beta = 99.9297(8) degrees, Z = 4, R = 0.0530 for 4565 independent reflections with I > 2 sigma(I). The crystal structures for both compounds consist of alternating organic and inorganic layers. The organic layer in compound 1 is characterized as kappa-type, while the organic layer in 2 resembles the kappa-type but it contains orthogonal dimers and monomers, and it is therefore called kappa(21). Compound 1 shows metallic behavior down to low temperature. Salt 2 shows semiconductive behavior, which is explained as the result of either charge ordering owing to the kappa(21)-type structure or Peierls distortion due to the one-dimensional electronic nature. However, weak metallic behavior could be observed at 10 kbar above ca. 150 K and at 15 kbar above 170 K. The magnetic susceptibilities for both compounds show Curie-Weiss behavior, showing that the exchange interactions between the magnetic anions are weak. Polarized reflectance spectra of single crystals were measured over the spectral range from 650 to 7000 cm(-1). Moreover, absorption and diffusion reflectance spectra of powdered crystals dispersed in KBr (from 400 to 7000 cm(-1)) were recorded. Vibrational and electronic features are discussed.  相似文献

Enthalpies for the two proton ionizations of the biochemical buffers N-[2-hydroxyethyl]piperazine-N′-[2-ethane sulfonic acid] (HEPES) and N-[2-hydroxyethyl]piperazine-N′-[2-hydroxypropane sulfonic acid] (HEPPSO) were obtained in water-methanol mixtures with methanol mole fraction (Xm) from 0 to 0.360. With increasing methanol, the ionization enthalpy for the first proton (ΔH1) of HEPES increased steadily from 8.4 to 15.3 kJ mol−1 whereas that for HEPPSO rose to a maximum of 21.0 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.123 before dropping to 18.4 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.360. The ionization enthalpy for the second proton (ΔH2) of HEPES varied from 20.8 kJ mol−1 in water to 13.6 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.360 with a maximum of 24.8 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.194. For HEPPSO, ΔH2 increased steadily from 23.4 to 29.2 kJ mol−1. The solvent composition was selected so as to include the region of maximum structure enhancement of water by methanol. The results were interpreted in terms of solvent-solvent and solvent-solute interactions.  相似文献

The FeCl3-mediated homo-coupling of 4,5-bis(alkylthio)-4′-tetrathiafulvalenylmagnesium bromide 5 produced the corresponding bitetrathiafulvalene derivatives 2a-d in moderate yields (25-51%). Bitetrathiafulvalenes 2c and 2d having long alkylthio chains formed nanostructures and showed bulk electric conductivities (σrt = 2.6 − 8.0 × 10−5 S cm−1) in the neutral state owing to the fastener effect. Interestingly, the nanofiber of tetrakis(dodecylthio)bitetrathiafulvalene 2d exhibited a p-type semiconductivity as detected by AFM.  相似文献

The intra- and the inter-chain magnetic interactions in [Ni(chxn)2Br]Br2, which is one of the typical one-dimensional (1-D) MX complexes are examined by using an unrestricted hybrid DFT (UB3LYP) method. Calculated effective exchange integral (J) value along the 1-D chain is 2JIntra = −4016 K and is close to an experimental result (−3600 K). On the other hand, a very weak anti-ferromagnetic inter-chain interaction through Br ions is observed. The value is estimated to be 2JInter = −2 to −6 K. In addition to the J values, transfer integral (t), on-site Coulomb repulsion (U) and charge transfer energy (ECT) values along the 1-D chain are also estimated to be 0.46, 2.46 and 0.6 eV, respectively.  相似文献

The synthesis, X-ray structure, magnetic and transport properties of the compound Ni(dmf)6[Ni(dsit)2]2 (dmf=dimethylformamide, dsit=1,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-diselenolate) are described. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, with a=18.709(6), b=22.975(5), c=20.418(5) Å, β=99.31(2)° and Z=6; its structure consists of [Ni(dsit)2]22− dimers and isolated [Ni(dmf)6]2+ cations both centrosymmetric and non-centrosymmetric. The dimers are packed forming chains along the [101] direction with short Se·Se interdimer contacts. Additional interchains S·S contacts render this structure a three-dimensional character, never observed so far in other [Ni(dsit)2] salts. This compound exhibits semiconducting behavior with a room temperature conductivity (1 S cm−1) much higher than those reported for other salts of the [Ni(dsit)2] anion. Tight-binding band structure calculations were used to analyze the origin of the semiconducting properties of this salt. The magnetic susceptibility shows Curie behavior with C=1.25 emu K mol−1, typical of isolated Ni(II) ions as expected for the octahedrally coordinated [Ni(dmf)6]2+ cations.  相似文献

A series of fourteen octahedral nickel(IV) dithiocarbamato complexes of the general formula [Ni(ndtc)3]X·yH2O {ndtc stands for the appropriate dithiocarbamate anion, X stands for ClO4 (1-8; y = 0) or [FeCl4] (9-14; y = 0 for 9-12, 1 for 13 and 0.5 for 14} was prepared by the oxidation of the corresponding nickel(II) complexes, i.e. [Ni(ndtc)2], with NOClO4 or FeCl3. The complexes, involving a high-valent NiIVS6 core, were characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N, Cl and Ni), UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy, thermal analysis and magnetochemical and conductivity measurements. The X-ray structure of [Ni(hmidtc)3][FeCl4] (9) was determined {it consists of covalently discrete complex [Ni(hmidtc)3]+ cations and [FeCl4] anions} and this revealed slightly distorted octahedral and tetrahedral geometries within the complex cations, and anions, respectively. The Ni(IV) atom is six-coordinated by three bidentate S-donor hexamethyleneiminedithiocarbamate anions (hmidtc), with Ni-S bond lengths ranging from 2.2597(5) to 2.2652(5) Å, while the shortest Ni···Cl and Ni···Fe distances equal 4.1043(12), and 6.2862(6) Å, respectively. Moreover, the formal oxidation state of iron in [FeCl4] as well as the coordination geometry in its vicinity was also proved by 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy in the case of 9.  相似文献
