四阶不定微分算子非实特征值的界

给出了四阶正则不定微分算子仅在可积条件下的非实特征值上界和下界的估计.更一般地,非实特征值的下界可以利用Krein空间的自共轭算子得到.

应用不定和定型Sturm-Liouville(S-L)问题在直和空间上的等价刻画,以及其特征值对边界和边值条件的单调依赖关系,本文建立了不定型S-L问题与一个相关的定型S-L问题之间的特征值不等式关系.     

Computing Eigenvalues of Singular Sturm-Liouville Problems

We describe a new algorithm to compute the eigenvalues of singular Sturm-Liouville problems with separated self-adjoint boundary conditions for both the limit-circle nonoscillatory and oscillatory cases. Also described is a numerical code implementing this algorithm and how it compares with SLEIGN. The latter is the only effective general purpose software available for the computation of the eigenvalues of singular Sturm-Liouville problems.

Principal Eigenvalues for Generalised Indefinite Robin Problems

We consider the principal eigenvalue of generalised Robin boundary value problems on non-smooth domains, where the zero order coefficient of the boundary operator is negative or changes sign. We provide conditions so that the related eigenvalue problem has a principal eigenvalue. We work with the framework involving measure data on the boundary due to Arendt and Warma (Potential Anal 19:341–363, 2003). Examples of simple domains with cusps are used to illustrate all possible phenomena.     

Eigenvalues of Fourth-order Singular Sturm-Liouville Boundary Value Problems

The function $p$ may be singular at $t=0$ or $1$, and $f$ satisfies Carath\''{e}odory condition.     

Dependence of Eigenvalues of Certain Closely Discrete Sturm-Liouville Problems

This paper is concerned with dependence of eigenvalues of certain closely discrete Sturm-Liouville problems. Topologies and geometric structures on various spaces of such problems are firstly introduced. Then, relationships between the analytic and geometric multiplicities of an eigenvalue are discussed. It is shown that all problems sufficiently close to a given problem have eigenvalues near each eigenvalue of the given problem. So, all the simple eigenvalues live in so-called continuous simple eigenvalue branches over the space of problems, and all the eigenvalues live in continuous eigenvalue branches over the space of self-adjoint problems. The analyticity, differentiability and monotonicity of continuous eigenvalue branches are further studied.     

Extremal Eigenvalues of the Sturm-Liouville Problems with Discontinuous Coefficients

In this paper, an extremal eigenvalue problem to the Sturm-Liouville equations with discontinuous coefficients and volume constraint is investigated. Liouville transformation is applied to change the problem into an equivalent minimization problem. Finite element method is proposed and the convergence for the finite element solution is established. A monotonic decreasing algorithm is presented to solve the extremal eigenvalue problem. A global convergence for the algorithm in the continuous case is proved. A few numerical results are given to depict the efficiency of the method.

该文利用了左定问题与右定问题的联系,得到了具有周期系数的左定Sturm-Liouville问题在区间[a,a+kh]上的周期和半周期特征值的描述,阐明了周期特征值之间的不等式关系,并明确给出了区间[a,a+kh]上的周期、半周期特征值和区间[a,a+h]上特征值的一一对应关系.     

一类具有转移条件的Sturm-Liouville问题的特征值的渐近估计

研究了一类具有转移条件且一端点处边界条件含特征参数的Sturm-Liouville问题,利用儒歇定理,得到了特征值的渐近估计式.

Dependence of Eigenvalues on the Regular Fourth-Order Sturm-Liouville Problem

In this paper, the eigenvalues of a regular fourth-order Sturm-Liouville (SL) problems are studed. The eigenvalues depend not only continuously but smoothly on the problem. An expression for the derivative of the eigenvalues with respect to a given parameter: an endpoint, a boundary condition, a coefficient, or the weight function, are found.     

Guaranteed Error Bounds for Eigenvalues of Singular Sturm‐Liouville Problems

We develop a simple oscillation theory for singular Sturm‐Liouville problems and combine it with recent asymptotic results, and with the AWA interval‐arithmetic code for integration of initial value problems with guaranteed error bounds, to obtain eigenvalue approximations with guaranteed error bounds for a class of singular Sturm‐Liouville problems. We believe that this is the first time that this has been achieved for singular eigenvalue problems.     

Singular Indefinite Sturm-Liouville Operators with a Spectral Gap

Singular Sturm-Liouville operators with the indefinite weight sgn(·) and a symmetric potential which has a positive limit at ∞ have a gap in the essential spectrum. Spectral Analysis for an Indefinite Singular Sturm-Liouville Problem

Direct and inverse problems of spectral analysis are studied for an indefinite singular boundary value problem coming from astrophysics. We establish properties of the spectrum, prove completeness and expansion theorems and investigate the inverse problem of recovering the differential equation from the given spectral characteristics.
