Planar Schottky diodes are integrated with bow-tie antennas to form a one-dimensional array. The energy is focused onto the antennas through a silicon lens placed on the back of the gallium-arsenide substrate. A polystyrene cap on the silicon lens reduces the reflection loss. A self-aligning process with proton isolation has been developed to make the planar Schottky diodes with a 1.1-THz zero-bias cutoff frequency. The antenna coupling efficiency and imaging properties of the system are studied by video detection measurements at 94 GHz. As a heterodyne receiver, a double-sideband mixer conversion loss of 11.2 dB and noise temperature of 3770°K have been achieved at a local oscillator frequency of 91 GHz. Of this loss, 6.2 dB is attributed to the optical system and the antenna.  相似文献

A broadband vertical transition from coplanar waveguide (CPW)-to-microstrip modes is presented. The transition has a double resonance and can be tuned for very wide-band operation. The CPW-to-microstrip modes coupling technique is useful for the vertical integration of multi-layer millimeter-wave circuits, packaging and antenna feeding networks. A vertical transition has been fabricated on 100 m silicon substrate for operation at W-band frequencies and shows less than 0.3 dB of insertion loss and better than 12 dB of return loss from 75 to 110 GHz. A 94 GHz CPW-fed microstrip antenna showing a 10-dB bandwidth of about 30 % has been built using the same transition technique.  相似文献

A planar quasi-optical Schottky receiver based on the quasi-integrated horn antenna has been developed and tested over the 230–280GHz bandwidth. The receiver consists of a planar GaAs Schottky diode placed at the feed of a dipole-probe suspended on a thin dielectric membrane in an etched-pyramidal horn cavity. The diode has a 1.2m anode diameter and a low parasitic capacitance due to the use of an etched surface channel. The antenna-mixer results in a measured DSB conversion loss and noise temperature at 258GHz of 7.2dB±0.5dB and 1310K±70K, respectively, at room temperature. The design is compatible with SIS mixers, and the low cost of fabrication and simplicity makes it ideal for submillimeter-wave imaging arrays requiring a 10–20% bandwidth.  相似文献

提出了一种工作在C波段的高功率平板波导螺旋阵列天线。以平板波导馈电,降低了馈电复杂性和馈电结构高度;对基本的电探针结构进行改进,通过控制扇形缝隙的圆心角大小来调整耦合量,并采用上下脊结构消除反射;设计了短螺旋天线结构,通过分离的参数分别优化轴比和反射,得到天线的轴比在?7°~7°的范围内小于0.5 dB;构建了一个20单元的直线馈电阵列,通过电探针结构从平板波导中耦合能量,实现了20单元的等幅馈电。最后仿真了一个工作在4.3 GHz,包含20×20个单元的螺旋阵列天线,结果表明:该天线的增益为31.6 dB,口径效率为74%,在4.11~4.43 GHz的频带范围内反射小于?16 dB,功率容量3.6 GW。  相似文献

A high directive planar antenna made from a metamaterial superstrate and an electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) substrate has been investigated. A patch antenna surrounded with EBG structures is used as the radiation source. The CST Microwave Studio is used for the simulation. The results show that the gain of the antenna with metamaterial is 21.6 dB at the operating frequency of 14.6 GHz. Compared with the patch feed with the same aperture size but without the metamaterial superstrate, the performance of the antenna is improved obviously and the gain increases about 12.4 dB.  相似文献

Phase gradient metasurfaces(PGMS) offer a fascinating ability to control the amplitude and phase of the electromagnetic(EM) waves on a subwavelength scale, resulting in new applications of designing novel microwave devices with improved performances. In this paper, a reflective symmetrical element, consisting of orthogonally I-shaped structures, has been demonstrated with an approximately parallel phase response from 15 GHz to 22 GHz, which results in an interesting wideband property. For practical design, a planar antenna is implemented by a well-optimized focusing metasurface and excited by a self-designed Vivaldi antenna at the focus. Numerical and experimental results coincide well. The planar antenna has a series of merits such as a wide 3-d B gain bandwidth of 15–22 GHz, an average gain enhancement of 16 d B, a comparable aperture efficiency of better than 45% at 18 GHz, and also a simple fabrication process. The proposed reflective metasurface opens up a new avenue to design wideband microwave devices.  相似文献

为改善高功率微波天线的性能,设计了一种新型X波段左手材料高功率微波天线罩,并对其进行了实验冷测研究。结果表明,加载一到四层左手材料天线罩均可在一定频率范围内汇聚波束和提高增益,其中加载一层左手材料天线罩时,天线增益提高最大,在频率为9.32 GHz时增益提高最大幅度约为9.64 dB。将实验结果与理论仿真进行对比发现,两者并没有吻合一致。分析了天线罩的功率容量,可以实现高功率微波的应用。  相似文献

Two open structure heterodyne receivers have been designed and tested at 180 and 305 GHz. The RF signal is coupled via a seven teeth log-periodic planar antenna to the mixer. The beam efficiency of the antenna is 65 %. The coupling efficiency to the fundamental gaussian mode is higher than 90%. The mixer incorporates a series array of two SIS Nb-Al/AlOx-Nb junctions. Photolithographical techniques have been employed to fabricate the antennas and the junctions. Double side band noise receiver temperatures of 95 K at 190 GHz and 160 K at 305 GHz have been measured.  相似文献

 探索了L波段的高功率线极化径向线阵列天线。基于三角形栅格形式实现了径向线圆形平面阵列天线,分析并给出了径向线并联馈电网络,并以同轴馈电的水平单圆环线极化天线为基础,利用径向线并联馈电网络设计出了间距小于一个波长下L波段高功率线极化径向线阵列天线。研究结果表明:这种结构实现径向线阵列天线的线极化辐射是可行的,该天线在中心频率1.57 GHz下,增益为19.97 dBi,轴比为-52.06 dB,反射系数为0.105 2;在1.37~1.77 GHz的频率范围内增益大于18.64 dBi,轴向轴比值小于-46.45 dB。  相似文献

将异向介质地板引入平面倒F天线(PIFA)的设计中,探索了这种天线的新型辐射特性.修正的PIFA传输线模型中,利用异向介质的谐振电路取代了传统辐射贴片不连续性而引起的电容效应,从物理上有效地解释了这种PIFA辐射性能的提高.数值和实测数据表明,该PIFA天线-10 dB相对带宽超过了100%,谐振频率包含无线局域网络各通信标准及城域网2—6 GHz固定和移动宽带无线接入系统的所有载波频段.在2.4/2.5 GHz时,该天线将得到全向的辐射方向图,而在3.8 GHz和5.1—5.8 GHz频带内,该天线更集 关键词: 异向介质 传输线模型 平面倒F天线 超宽带  相似文献

Completely quasioptical heterodyne SIS receiver for radioastronomical applications at 115 GHz was designed and tested. Gaussian beam two lens input guide system and open structure SIS mixer with immersion lens were used. Integrated quasioptical structure consists of planar equiangular spiral antenna and superconductor—insulator—superconductor (SIS) tunnel junction as a mixing element connected to the antenna via microstrip impedance transformer. The best SIS mixer noise temperature at hot input and for heterodyne frequency 109.8 GHz with IF central frequency 1.4 GHz (DSB) was 28±7 K at the first quasiparticle step and 8±6 K at the second step.  相似文献

This paper presents an optimum design of a substrate-integrated cavity-type antenna for use in the terahertz frequency range. The antenna was designed with a frequency-selective surface (FSS) and a planar feeding structure that are both patterned on a high-permittivity gallium-arsenide substrate. The FSS, printed on the bottom side of the substrate, is made of a circular hole array that acts as a partially reflecting mirror. Meanwhile, the planar feeding structure, printed on the top side of the substrate, is a center-fed, open-ended slotline whose ground plane acts as a perfect reflective mirror; thus, it forms a Fabry–Perot resonator. The optimized antenna produced a maximum boresight gain of 14.3 dBi, a radiation efficiency of 62%, and side-lobe levels of −15.1 dB and −15.0 dB for the E- and H-planes, respectively, at a resonance frequency of 320 GHz. The proposed design exhibits compactness, planarity, and light weight compared with the substrate lens-coupled antenna design.  相似文献

The design and prototyping of a new double L-shaped patch antenna on substrate of available low cost polymer resin composite material is presented. The designed microstrip line fed compact antenna consists of a planar double L-shaped slotted radiating patch, 1.6 mm thick substrate and ground plane. The proposed small antenna was designed and analyzed using a finite-element method-based, commercially available, high frequency structure simulator, and fabricated on a printed circuit board. The measured ?10 dB return loss bandwidths were 220 MHz and 650 MHz at 4.85 GHz and 8.10 GHz center frequencies. The corresponding symmetric and almost steady radiation patterns have peak gains of 7.6 dBi and 4.1 dBi, making the proposed antenna suitable for C and × band wireless applications, especially for WLANs, mobiles and satellites. The radiation efficiency, input impedance and current distribution of the proposed antenna were also analyzed.  相似文献

设计并制备了一种兼具高增益和低雷达散射截面(radar cross section, RCS)的微带天线, 通过给原始微带天线加载双屏频率选择表面(frequency selective surface, FSS)覆层, 使其具有宽带的3 dB增益带宽和宽带、宽角度的低RCS特性. 该FSS单元的上层是四个开口处都焊有电阻的金属环结构, 下层是中间和四边都开缝的金属贴片结构. 上层加载的电阻主要用于吸收雷达入射波, 减缩天线RCS; 下层的贴片和天线地板构成Fabry-Perot谐振腔, 提高天线增益. 在5.75–11.37 GHz频带内, S22<-10 dB, S12<-10 dB; 在11.21–11.54 GHz频带内, S11反射系数相位曲线斜率为正, 幅度模值均在0.86以上. 实验结果表明: 与原始天线相比, 在谐振频点11.73 GHz处, 天线增益提高3.4 dB, E, H面的半功率波束宽度分别减小16°和50°; 天线的3 dB增益带宽为10.00–12.40 GHz, 完全覆盖阻抗带宽. 在4.10–11.30 GHz 频带内, 天线法向RCS均有3 dB以上的减缩, 最大减缩23.08 dB; 4.95 GHz处的单站RCS在-20°–20°的角域、双站RCS 在-37°–37°的角域均有3 dB以上的减缩. 实验结果证实了该FSS覆层可用于同时改善天线的辐射和散射 性能. 关键词: 频率选择表面 低雷达散射截面 高增益 宽带  相似文献

提出了一种由新型Vivaldi天线单元构成的22十字交叉圆极化天线阵。Vivaldi天线单元采用边缘渐变对拓的锯齿结构,提高了天线在4.7~7.0 GHz频带内的增益,其反射系数低于-10 dB的带宽为2.4~11.0 GHz,具有超宽带线极化特性。圆极化天线阵测量结果显示,在4.5~7.0 GHz频带范围内,其轴比均低于3 dB,且整个频带范围内增益达11~13 dBi。  相似文献

A heterodyne receiver based on a 1/3 reduced height rectangular waveguide SIS mixer with two mechanical tuners has been built for astronomical observations of molecular transitions in the 230 GHz frequency band. The mixer used an untuned array (RnCj3, Rn70 ) of four Nb/AIOx/Nb tunnel junctions in series as a nonlinear mixing element. A reasonable balance between the input and output coupling efficiencies has been obtained by choosing the junction number N=4. The receiver exhibits DSB (Double Side Band) noise temperature around 50 K over a frequency range of more than 10 GHz centered at 230 GHz. The lowest system noise temperature of 38 K has been recorded at 232.5 GHz. Mainly by adjusting the subwaveguide backshort, the SSB (Single Side Band) operation with image rejection of 15 dB is obtained with the noise temperature as low as 50 K. In addition, the noise contribution from each receiver component has been studied further. The minimum SIS mixer noise temperature is estimated as 15 K, pretty close to the quantum limit v/k11 K at 230 GHz. It is believed that the receiver noise temperatures presented are the lowest yet reported for a 230 GHz receiver using untuned junctions.  相似文献

 介绍了高功率双层径向线螺旋阵列天线的模拟优化结果,对按照优化结构尺寸加工的阵列天线进行了实验研究。在实验中,设计了用于连接标准接口和天线输入口的阻抗变换器,对阵列天线辐射特性的测量采用了标准线极化天线比较法。实验结果表明:在3.8~4.2 GHz的频率范围内天线增益大于19.7 dB,口径效率大于42%,天线轴比小于4 dB,驻波系数小于1.6;实验结果与数值计算结果基本一致。  相似文献

Reconfigurable antenna is a novel concept of antenna. A novel reconfigurable millimeter-wave patch antenna is proposed and simulated by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The simulation results demonstrate that the antenna can operate in two states and shift the operation frequency band between 22.830.8GHz and 28.737.3GHz as the state is changed. This antenna is useful for millimeter-wave wireless communication and radar systems.  相似文献
