In this paper we give a common fixed point theorem for a family of mappings of a G-complete fuzzy metric space (X, M, *) into itself. From this result we deduce a common fixed point theorem for a family of mappings of a complete metric space (X, d) into itself. Supported by University of Palermo.  相似文献

As is well known [1, p.480], the cycles and spears of the real Laguerre plane can be represented by the points and null planes of three-dimensional Minkowski space. Miquel's theorem in the Laguerre plane can then be expressed as an intrinsically interesting Minkowski space theorem the octahedron theorem. We outline the correspondence between the two theorems, and then give a metric vector space proof of the octahedron theorem, thereby providing an alternate proof of Miquel's theorem. We then discuss the generalization of both theorems to more general spaces.  相似文献

We develop the Hutchinson-Barnsley theory for finite families of mappings on a metric space endowed with a directed graph. In particular, our results subsume a classical theorem of J.E. Hutchinson [J.E. Hutchinson, Fractals and self-similarity, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 30 (1981) 713-747] on the existence of an invariant set for an iterated function system of Banach contractions, and a theorem of L. Máté [L. Máté, The Hutchinson-Barnsley theory for certain non-contraction mappings, Period. Math. Hungar. 27 (1993) 21-33] concerning finite families of locally uniformly contractions introduced by Edelstein. Also, they generalize recent fixed point theorems of A.C.M. Ran and M.C.B. Reurings [A.C.M. Ran, M.C.B. Reurings, A fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets and some applications to matrix equations, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004) 1435-1443], J.J. Nieto and R. Rodríguez-López [J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Contractive mapping theorems in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Order 22 (2005) 223-239; J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Existence and uniqueness of fixed point in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.) 23 (2007) 2205-2212], and A. Petru?el and I.A. Rus [A. Petru?el, I.A. Rus, Fixed point theorems in ordered L-spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 134 (2006) 411-418] for contractive mappings on an ordered metric space. As an application, we obtain a theorem on the convergence of infinite products of linear operators on an arbitrary Banach space. This result yields new generalizations of the Kelisky-Rivlin theorem on iterates of the Bernstein operators on the space C[0,1] as well as its extensions given recently by H. Oruç and N. Tuncer [H. Oruç, N. Tuncer, On the convergence and iterates of q-Bernstein polynomials, J. Approx. Theory 117 (2002) 301-313], and H. Gonska and P. Pi?ul [H. Gonska, P. Pi?ul, Remarks on an article of J.P. King, Comment. Math. Univ. Carolin. 46 (2005) 645-652].  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to establish the Ekeland's variational principle and Caristi's fixed point theorem in probabilistic metric spaces and to give a direct simple proof of the equivalence between these two theorems in the probabilistic metric space. The results presented in this paper generalize the corresponding results of [9–12].The project is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider particular tiling problems suitable for able high-school students. Three alternative student-generated proofs of the solution to the initial problem are given in detail, and various points in connection with these proofs are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Recently, in the article [LW], the authors use the notion of polynomials in metric spaces of homogeneous type (in the sense of Coifman-Weiss) to prove a relationship between high order Poincaré inequalities and representation formulas involving fractional integrals of high order, assuming only that is a doubling measure and that geodesics exist. Motivated by this and by recent work in [H], [FHK], [KS] and [FLW] about first order Sobolev spaces in metric spaces, we define Sobolev spaces of high order in such metric spaces . We prove that several definitions are equivalent if functions of polynomial type exist. In the case of stratified groups, where polynomials do exist, we show that our spaces are equivalent to the Sobolev spaces defined by Folland and Stein in [FS]. Our results also give some alternate definitions of Sobolev spaces in the classical Euclidean case. Received: 10 February 1999 / Published online: 1 February 2002  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize Chirka's theorem on the extension of functions holomorphic in a neighbourhood of - where is the open unit disc in and is the graph of a continuous valued function on - to higher dimensions, for certain classes of graphs 1$">. In particular, we show that Chirka's extension theorem generalizes to configurations in 1$">, involving graphs of (non-holomorphic) polynomial maps with small coefficients.

We consider generalizations of Denjoy-Wolff theorem on strongly pseudo-convex domains. Beardon [3] gave a general Denjoy-Wolff theorem in hyperboli domain in the complex plane. Our main results are generalizations of Beardon's result in a higher dimensional setting.  相似文献

In this paper, let (Mn,g,dμ) be n-dimensional noncompact metric measure space which satisfies Poincaré inequality with some Ricci curvature condition. We obtain a Liouville theorem for positive weak solutions to weighted p-Lichnerowicz equation
p,fv+cvσ=0,
where c0,m>n1,1<p<m?1+(m?1)(m+3)2,σp?1 are real constants.  相似文献

A fixed point theorem on compact compositions of acyclic maps on admissible (in the sense of Klee) convex subsets of a t.v.s. is applied to generalize Gwinner’s extensions of the Walras excess demand theorem and of the Gale-Nikaido-Debreu theorem.  相似文献

A theorem of Ferenc Lukács determines the jumps of a periodic Lebesgue integrable function f at each point of discontinuity of the first kind in terms of the partial sums of the conjugate Fourier series of f. The aim of this note is to prove analogous theorems for functions and series, introduced by Taberski ([10], [11]).  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is the study of the generalization of some results given in [M. Berinde, V. Berinde, On a general class of multi-valued weakly Picard mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 326 (2007) 772-782] and references therein. Some generalizations of the Mizoguchi-Takahashi fixed point theorem, Kannan’s fixed point theorems and Chatterjea’s fixed point theorems are established by using our new fixed point theorems.  相似文献

Let be a Hilbert space, let be the space of almost periodic functions from to , and let be a closed densely defined linear operator on . For a closed subset , let be the subspace of consisting of functions with spectrum contained in . We prove that the following properties are equivalent: (i) for every function there exists a unique mild solution of equation ; (ii) and . The case yields a new proof of the well-known Gearhart's spectral mapping theorem.
