Summary We have considered here the (unitary) irreducible representations of theq-deformed algebraU q(SO4) and of theq-deformed Lorentz algebraU q(SO3,1). Both of them contain, as subalgebra, the algebraU q(SO3) which is shown to be isomorphic to the Fairlie-Odesskii algebra. As the list of pairwise nonequivalent irreps of theU q(SO3,1) demonstrates, the set of the parameters, which characterize such irreps is somewhat reduced (due to periodicity properties of the function w(z)=[z]q) in comparison with that of theq=1 (classical) case. From another side, the list of unitary irreps of theU q(SO3,1) contains the strange series which has no classical counterpart (disappears at q=1).Published in Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika. Let G be a finite group. Let p(G) denote the minimal degree of a faithful permutation representation ofG and let q(G) and c(G) denote the minimal degree of a faithful representation of G by quasi-permutation matrices over the rational and the complex numbers, respectively. Finally r(G) denotes the minimal degree of a faithful rational valued complex character of G. The purpose of this paper is to calculate p(G), q(G), c(G) and r(G) for the group SP(4,q). Abstract

The (p, q)-mixed geominimal surface areas are introduced. A special case of the new concept is the Lp geominimal surface area introduced by Lutwak. Related inequalities, such as a?ne isoperimetric inequality, monotonous inequality, cyclic inequality, and Brunn-Minkowski inequality, are established. These new inequalities strengthen some well-known inequalities related to the Lp geominimal surface area.  相似文献

Let Ω be a bounded circular domain in ℂ N , let M be a submanifold in the boundary of Ω, and let H be a Hilbert space of holomorphic functions in Ω. We show that, under certain conditions stated in terms of the reproducing kernel of the space H, the restriction operator to the submanifold M is well defined for all functions from H. We apply this result to constructing a family of “singular” unitary representations of the groups SO(p,q). The singular representations arise as discrete components of the spectrum in the decomposition of irreducible unitary highest weight representations of the groups U(p,q) restricted to the subgroups SO(p,q). In this article we construct a type of deformations of representations \(\pi _1(M)\rightarrow G\) where G is an arbitrary lie group and M is a large class of manifolds including \(\hbox {CAT}(0)\) manifolds. The deformations are defined based on codimension 1 hypersurfaces with certain conditions, and also on disjoint union of such hypersurfaces, i.e. multi-hypersurfaces. We show commutativity of deforming along disjoint hypersurfaces. As application, we consider Anosov surface groups in \({\textit{SO}}(n,1)\) and show that the construction can be extended continuously to measured laminations, thus obtaining earthquake deformations on these surface groups.  相似文献

In this paper, we shall determine (i) the reducibility of I p,q, (ii) the K-types of all the irreducible subquotients of I p,q when it is reducible, where K is the maximal compact subgroup of G, (iii) the module diagram of I p,q (from which one can read off the composition structure), and (iv) the unitarity of I p,q and its subquotients. The notion ofglobally irreducible representations of finite groups was introduced by B. H. Gross, in order to explain new series of Euclidean lattices discovered by N. Elkies and T. Shioda using Mordell-Weil lattices of elliptic curves. In this paper we classify all globally irreducible representations coming from projective complex representations of the finite simple groups PSL3(q) and PSU3(q). The main result is that these representations are essentially those discovered by Gross.  相似文献

A digraph D is (p,q)-odd if and only if any subdivision of D contains a directed cycle of length different from p mod q. A characterization of (p,q)-odd digraphs analogous to the Seymour-Thomassen characterization of (1, 2)-odd digraphs is provided. In order to obtain this characterization we study the lattice generated by the directed cycles of a strongly connected digraph. We show that the sets of directed cycles obtained from an ear decomposition of the digraph in a natural way are bases of this lattice. A similar result does not hold for undirected graphs. However we construct, for each undirected 2-connected graph G, a set of cycles of G which form a basis of the lattice generated by the cycles of G. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
