ON A CLASS OF METHOD FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS WITH RANDOM BOUNDARY NOTCHES AND/OR CRACKS (Ⅱ) COMPUTATIONS FOR BOUNDARY NOTCHES

This work is a continuation of the discussion of [1], "On a class of method for solving problems with random boundary notches and/or cracks, (Ⅰ)" by C. Ouyang (Appl. Math. & Mech.,Vol. 1, No. 2, 1980). Here computations for boundary notches are made by using the theory and formulas presented in [1]. In the computation modification is also made for the boundary conditions in parametric plane in [1]. Numerical results for examples show that within ranges of parameter considered in the paper, for example L, the present method in quite workable in practical computations.

DISCUSSION ON″THE BOUNDEDNESS AND ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OR SOLUTION DIFFERENTIAL SYSTEM OF SECOND-ORDER WITH VARIABLE COEFFICIENT" (App1ied Mathematics and Mechanics,Vo1.3,No.4,1982)

After reading the article "The Boundedness and Asymptotic Behavior of Solution of Differential System of Second-Order with Variable Coefficient" in "Applied Mathematics and Mechanics", Vol. 3, No. 4, 1982, we would like to put forward a few points to discuss with the author and the readers. Our opinions are presented as follows:     

Fundamental Solutions of the Cauchy Problem for Invariant Λ<Subscript>(µ)</Subscript>-Hyperbolic Operators on Riemannian Manifolds

We obtain an analytic representation of a fundamental solution of the Cauchy problem for Petrovskii strictly hyperbolic Λ_(μ)-invariant hyperbolic equations and systems of equations in Euclidean spaces and on special Riemann manifolds on the basis of the introduced integral transformations generated by an integral representation of the Dirac measure. __________ Translated from Neliniini Kolyvannya, Vol. 8, No. 2, pp. 224–233, April–June, 2005.     

Modified iterative method for augmented system

The successive overrelaxation-like(SOR-like) method with the real parameters ω is considered for solving the augmented system. The new method is called the modified SOR-like(MSOR-like) method. The functional equation between the parameters and the eigenvalues of the iteration matrix of the MSOR-like method is given. Therefore, the necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence of the MSOR-like method is derived. The optimal iteration parameter ω of the MSOR-like method is derived. Finally, the proof of theorem and numerical computation based on a particular linear system are given, which clearly show that the MSOR-like method outperforms the SOR-like(Li, C. J., Li, B. J., and Evans, D. J. Optimum accelerated parameter for the GSOR method. Neural, Parallel Scientific Computations, 7(4), 453–462(1999)) and the modified symmetric SOR-like(MSSOR-like) methods(Wu, S. A spectral resolving method for analyzing linear random vibrations with variable parameters

This paper is a development of ref. [1]. Consider the following random equation: Z(t)+2βZ(t)+ω₀²Z(t)=(a⁰+a¹Z(t))I(t)+c in which excitation I(t) and response Z(y) are both random processes, and it is proposed that they are mutually independent. Suppose that a(t) is a known function of time and I(t) is a stationary random process. In this paper, the spectral resolving form of the random equation stated above, the numerical solving method and the solutions in some special cases are considered.     

Fractional-order visco-plastic constitutive model for uniaxial ratcheting behaviors

This paper proposes a novel unified visco-plastic constitutive model for uniaxial ratcheting behaviors. The cyclic deformation of the material presents remarkable time-dependence and history memory phenomena. The fractional(fractional-order)derivative is an efficient tool for modeling these phenomena. Therefore, we develop a cyclic fractional-order unified visco-plastic(FVP) constitutive model. Specifically, within the framework of the cyclic elasto-plastic theory, the fractional derivative is used to describe the accumulated plastic strain rate and nonlinear kinematic hardening rule based on the Ohno-Abdel-Karim model. Moreover, a new radial return method for the back stress is developed to describe the unclosed hysteresis loops of the stress-strain properly.The capacity of the FVP model used to predict the cyclic deformation of the SS304 stainless steel is verified through a comparison with the corresponding experimental data found in the literature(KANG, G. Z., KAN, Q. H., ZHANG, J., and SUN, Y. F. Timedependent ratcheting experiments of SS304 stainless steel. International Journal of Plasticity, 22(5), 858–894(2006)). The FVP model is shown to be successful in predicting the rate-dependent ratcheting behaviors of the SS304 stainless steel.
