The formation of weakly bound molecular complexes between dimethyl ether (DME) and the trifluoromethyl halides CF3Cl, CF3Br and CF3I dissolved in liquid argon and in liquid krypton is investigated, using Raman and FTIR spectroscopy. For all halides evidence is found for the formation of C? X???O halogen‐bonded 1:1 complexes. At higher concentrations of CF3Br, a weak absorption due to a 1:2 complex is also observed. Using spectra recorded at temperatures between 87 and 125 K, the complexation enthalpies for the complexes are determined to be ?6.8(3) kJ mol?1 (DME?CF3Cl), ?10.2(1) kJ mol?1 (DME?CF3Br), ?15.5(1) kJ mol?1 (DME?CF3I), and ?17.8(5) kJ mol?1 [DME(?CF3Br)2]. Structural and spectral information on the complexes is obtained from ab initio calculations at the MP2/ 6‐311++G(d,p) and MP2/6‐311++G(d,p)+LanL2DZ* levels. By applying Monte Carlo free energy perturbation calculations to account for the solvent influences, and statistical thermodynamics to estimate the zero‐point vibrational and thermal influences, the ab initio complexation energies are converted into complexation enthalpies for the solutions in liquid argon. The resulting values are compared with the experimental data deduced from the cryosolutions. 相似文献

Weak complexes of isocyanic acid (HNCO) with nitrogen were studied computationally employing MP2, B2PLYPD3 and B3LYPD3 methods and experimentally by FTIR matrix isolation technique. The results show that HNCO interacts specifically with N2. For the 1:1 stoichiometry, three stable minima were located on the potential energy surface. The most stable of them involves a weak, almost linear hydrogen bond from the NH group of the acid molecule to nitrogen molecule lone pair. Two other structures are bound by van der Waals interactions of N⋯N and C⋯N types. The 1:2 and 2:1 HNCO complexes with nitrogen were computationally tracked as well. Similar types of interactions as in the 1:1 complexes were found in the case of the higher stoichiometry complexes. Analysis of the HNCO/N2/Ar spectra after deposition indicates that the 1:1 hydrogen-bonded complex is prevalent in argon matrices with a small amount of the van der Waals structures also present. Upon annealing, complexes of the 1:2 and 2:1 stoichiometry were detected as well. 相似文献

An ab initio potential energy surface (PES) of ArF2 system has been obtained by using MP4 calculation with a large basis set including bond functions. There are two local minimums on the PES: one is T-shaped and the other is L-shaped. The L-shaped minimum is the global minimum with a well depth of -119.62 cm- 1 at R = 0.3883nm. The T-shaped minimum has a well depth of -85.93cm -1 at R = 0.3486 nm. A saddle point is found at R = 0.3486 and θ = 61° with the well depth of -61.53 cm-1. The vibrational energy levels have been calculated by using VSCF-CI method. The results show that this PES supports 27 vibrational bound states, and the ground states are two degenerate states assigned to the L-type vibration. 相似文献

Behavior of Halogen Bonds of the Y−X⋅⋅⋅π Type (X,Y=F,Cl, Br,I) in the Benzene π System,Elucidated by Using a Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules Dual‐Functional Analysis 下载免费PDF全文
The nature of halogen bonds of the Y?X‐?‐π(C6H6) type (X, Y=F, Cl, Br, and I) have been elucidated by using the quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) dual‐functional analysis (QTAIM‐DFA), which we proposed recently. Asterisks (?) emphasize the presence of bond‐critical points (BCPs) in the interactions in question. Total electron energy densities, Hb( r c), are plotted versus Hb( r c)?Vb( r c)/2 [=(?2/8m)?2ρb( r c)] for the interactions in QTAIM‐DFA, in which Vb( r c) are potential energy densities at the BCPs. Data for perturbed structures around fully optimized structures were used for the plots, in addition to those of the fully optimized ones. The plots were analyzed by using the polar (R, θ) coordinate for the data of fully optimized structures with (θp, κp) for those that contained the perturbed structures; θp corresponds to the tangent line of the plot and κp is the curvature. Whereas (R, θ) corresponds to the static nature, (θp, κp) represents the dynamic nature of the interactions. All interactions in Y?X‐?‐π(C6H6) are classified by pure closed‐shell interactions and characterized to have vdW nature, except for Y?I‐?‐π(C6H6) (Y=F, Cl, Br) and F?Br‐?‐π(C6H6), which have typical hydrogen‐bond nature without covalency. I?I‐?‐π(C6H6) has a borderline nature between the two. Y?F‐?‐π(C6H6) (Y=Br, I) were optimized as bent forms, in which Y‐?‐π interactions were detected. The Y‐?‐π interactions in the bent forms are predicted to be substantially weaker than those in the linear F?Y‐?‐π(C6H6) forms. 相似文献

The Role of High Excitations in Constructing Sub-spectroscopic Accuracy Intermolecular Potential of He-HCN: Critically Examined by the High-Resolution Spectra with Resonance States 下载免费PDF全文
Interpreting high-resolution rovibrational spectra of weakly bound complexes commonly requires spectroscopic accuracy (<1 cm-1) potential energy surfaces (PES). Constructing high-accuracy ab initio PES relies on the high-level electronic structure approaches and the accurate physical models to represent the potentials. The coupled cluster approaches including single and double excitations with a perturbational estimate of triple excitations (CCSD(T)) have been termed the "gold standard" of electronic structure theory, and widely used in generating intermolecular interaction energies for most van der Waals complexes. However, for HCN-He complex, the observed millimeter-wave spectroscopy with high-excited resonance states has not been assigned and interpreted even on the ab initio PES computed at CCSD(T) level of theory with the complete basis set (CBS) limit. In this work, an effective three-dimensional ab initio PES for HCN-He, which explicitly incorporates dependence on the Q1 (C-H) normal-mode coordinate of the HCN monomer has been calculated at the CCSD(T)/CBS level. The post-CCSD(T) interaction energy has been examined and included in our PES. Analytic two-dimensional PESs are obtained by least-squares fitting vibrationally averaged interaction energies for v1(C-H)=0, and 1 to the Morse/Long-Range potential function form with root-mean-square deviations (RMSD) smaller than 0.011 cm-1. The role and significance of the post-CCSD(T) interaction energy contribution are clearly illustrated by comparison with the predicted rovibrational energy levels. With or without post-CCSD(T) corrections, the value of dissociation limit (D0) is 8.919 or 9.403 cm-1, respectively. The predicted millimeter-wave transitions and intensities from the PES with post-CCSD(T) excitation corrections are in good agreement with the available experimental data with RMS discrepancy of 0.072 cm-1. Moreover, the infrared spectrum for HCN-He complex is predicted for the first time. These results will serve as a good starting point and provide reliable guidance for future infrared studies of HCN doped in (He)n clusters. 相似文献

Both the bonding mode and geometry can serve as the chemical bonding nature of central cation, which is essentially determined by the atomic orbital‐hybridization. In this work, we focus on the possible chemical bonding scheme of central cations on the basis of a quantitative analysis of electron domain of an atom. Starting from the hybridization of outer atomic orbitals that are occupied by valence electrons, we studied the possible orbital hybridization scheme of atoms in the periodic table and the corresponding coordination number as well as possible molecular geometries. According to distinct hybrid orbital sets, the chemical bonding of central cations can be classified into three typical types, resulting in the cations with a variety of coordination numbers ranging from 2 to 16. Owing to different hybridization modes, the highest coordination number of cations in IA and IIA groups is larger than that in IB‐VIIIB groups, and the coordination number of lanthanide elements is most abundant. We also selected NaNO3 , Fe(NO3 )3•9H2O , Zn(NO3 )2•6H2O , Y(NO3 )3•3H2O , and La(NO3 )3•6H2O as examples to confirm the direct relationship between chemical bonding characteristics and orbital hybrid set by IR spectra. The present study opens the door to reveal the chemical bonding nature of atoms on the basis of hybridization and will provide theoretical guides in structural design at an atomic level. 相似文献

Ab initio potentials are computed for alkali metal cationic partners interacting with 4He and an overall many-body potential is constructed for each of the ionic dopants in helium clusters. The structures are
then obtained via a genetic algorithm approach and results compared with Basin-Hopping Monte Carlo simulations. The classical
arrangements are analyzed and quantum effects discussed in comparison with what has been found with Diffusion Monte Carlo
calculations. Further corrections to the classical picture by including three-body forces and radial delocalization of the
helium adatoms are also considered and their effects analyzed.

Van der Waals magnetic materials are promising candidates for spintronics and testbeds for exotic magnetic phenomena in low dimensions. The two-dimensional (2D) limit in these materials is typically reached by mechanically breaking the van der Waals interactions between layers. Alternative approaches to producing large amounts of flakes rely on wet methods such as liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE). Here, we report an optimized route for obtaining monolayers of magnetic cylindrite by LPE. We show that the selection of exfoliation times is the determining factor in producing a statistically significant amount of monolayers while keeping relatively big flake areas (~1 µm2). We show that the cylindrite lattice is preserved in the flakes after LPE. To study the electron transport properties, we have fabricated field-effect transistors based on LPE cylindrite. Flakes are deterministically positioned between nanoscale electrodes by dielectrophoresis. We show that dielectrophoresis can selectively move the larger flakes into the devices. Cylindrite nanoscale flakes present a p-doped semiconducting behaviour, in agreement with the mechanically exfoliated counterparts. Alternating current (AC) admittance spectroscopy sheds light on the role played by potential barriers between different flakes in terms of electron transport properties. The present large-scale exfoliation and device fabrication strategy can be extrapolated to other families of magnetic materials. 相似文献

The one-color resonant two -photon ionization technique is employed to study jetcooled van der Waals(vdW) complex o-xylene?N2 through the S0-S1 transition around the band. The spectra obtained exhibit rich information about the complex intermolecular vdW vibrational modes. We have tentatively assigned all the observed spectral features. The structure of the complex has been obtained by calculation of the minimum energy structure. 相似文献

Partial molar volumes in water at 25°C have been determined for a number of carbohydrates, including mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, hexa-, hepta-, and polysaccharides and their derivatives. The experimental values can be calculated from the van der Waals volumes of the molecules if account is taken of the shrinkage in volume caused by hydrogen-bonding of solvent molecules to the hydroxyl groups of the sugars. 相似文献

Accurate description of van der Waals complexes by density functional theory including empirical corrections 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2

An empirical method to account for van der Waals interactions in practical calculations with the density functional theory (termed DFT-D) is tested for a wide variety of molecular complexes. As in previous schemes, the dispersive energy is described by damped interatomic potentials of the form C6R(-6). The use of pure, gradient-corrected density functionals (BLYP and PBE), together with the resolution-of-the-identity (RI) approximation for the Coulomb operator, allows very efficient computations for large systems. Opposed to previous work, extended AO basis sets of polarized TZV or QZV quality are employed, which reduces the basis set superposition error to a negligible extend. By using a global scaling factor for the atomic C6 coefficients, the functional dependence of the results could be strongly reduced. The "double counting" of correlation effects for strongly bound complexes is found to be insignificant if steep damping functions are employed. The method is applied to a total of 29 complexes of atoms and small molecules (Ne, CH4, NH3, H2O, CH3F, N2, F2, formic acid, ethene, and ethine) with each other and with benzene, to benzene, naphthalene, pyrene, and coronene dimers, the naphthalene trimer, coronene. H2O and four H-bonded and stacked DNA base pairs (AT and GC). In almost all cases, very good agreement with reliable theoretical or experimental results for binding energies and intermolecular distances is obtained. For stacked aromatic systems and the important base pairs, the DFT-D-BLYP model seems to be even superior to standard MP2 treatments that systematically overbind. The good results obtained suggest the approach as a practical tool to describe the properties of many important van der Waals systems in chemistry. Furthermore, the DFT-D data may either be used to calibrate much simpler (e.g., force-field) potentials or the optimized structures can be used as input for more accurate ab initio calculations of the interaction energies. 相似文献

Benchmark quality geometries and interaction energies for the prereactive halogen‐bonded complexes of dihalogens and ammonia, including hypothetical astatine containing dihalogens, have been produced via explicitly correlated coupled cluster methods. The application of local electron correlation partitioning reveals dispersion, electrostatics and ionic substitutions all contribute significantly to the interaction energy, with a linear relationship between the ionic substitutions and the degree of charge transfer. Potential energy curves for H3N???ClF show that as the relative orientations of the two subunits are manipulated appreciable interactions can be found at considerably angular displaced geometries, signifying lower directionality in halogen bonding than previously supposed. 相似文献

Molecular mechanics calculations are reported on metal complexes of 18-azacrown-6. Four possible conformations are considered which encapsulate the metal in different geometric environments, namely, chiral octahedral, meso octahedral, trigonal prismatic, and hexagonal bipyramidal. Crystal structures are available for all but the last geometry, and molecular mechanics calculations show an excellent fit to the experimental data. The strain energy of the macrocycle has been calculated for a range of M-N distances, and thus the hole size of the macrocycle has been obtained for various conformations. Two different methods were used to calculate the strain energy of the metal environment. We either used the conventional molecular mechanics term for angle bending,k
b — 0)2, and chose the ideal angles to fit the particular metal geometry, or we set the angle force constants to zero and introduced 1,3 van der Waals interactions between the ligand donor nitrogen atoms. Results from the two methods are compared. 相似文献

Amphiphile molecules are characterized by the dual property arising from the interactions between the apolar [alkyl] and the polar part and the surrounding solvent, i.e., water. In assemblies which amphiphiles form in diverse systems, e.g., micelles, soap bubbles, monolayers or bilayers at interfaces, the attractive forces are attributed to the van der Waals forces. It is not easy to estimate the magnitude of van der Waals forces in some of these systems by any direct method. The magnitude of van der Waals forces in spread monolayers of lipids and biopolymers has been reported to be estimated from experimental data. The magnitude of these forces has been estimated by using an equation of state of a very general form, as delineated herein. In the current literature no such attempt has been reported in the analyses of these monolayers spread on aqueous surfaces. These analyses suggest that the predominant surface forces arise from van der Waals interactions, if the magnitude of electrostatic charge repulsions is weak. The equation-of-state as derived indicates that it is useful in providing information about the molecular interaction in monolayers, for both lipids and biopolymers. 相似文献
