We present an analysis with improved sensitivity to the light charged Higgs (mH+ < mt-mbm_{H^{+}} < m_{t}-m_{b}) searches in the top quark decays tbH +b(τ + ν τ )+c.c. in the t[`(t)]t\bar{t} and single t/[`(t)]t/\bar{t} production processes at the LHC. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), one anticipates the branching ratio B (H+ ?t+nt) @ 1{\mathcal{B}} (H^{+} \to\tau^{+}\nu_{\tau})\simeq1 over almost the entire allowed tanb\tan\beta range. Noting that the τ + arising from the decay H +τ + ν τ are predominantly right-polarized, as opposed to the τ + from the dominant background W +τ + ν τ , which are left-polarized, a number of H +/W +τ + ν τ discriminators have been proposed and studied in the literature. We consider hadronic decays of the τ ±, concentrating on the dominant one-prong decay channel τ ±ρ ± ν τ . The energy and p T of the charged prongs normalised to the corresponding quantities of the ρ ± are convenient variables which serve as τ ± polariser. We use the distributions in these variables and several other kinematic quantities to train a boosted decision tree (BDT). Using the BDT classifier, and a variant of it called BDTD, which makes use of decorrelated variables, we have calculated the BDT(D)-response functions to estimate the signal efficiency vs. the rejection of the background. We argue that this chain of analysis has a high sensitivity to light charged Higgs searches up to a mass of 150 GeV in the decays tbH + (and charge conjugate) at the LHC. For the case of single top production, we also study the transverse mass of the system determined using Lagrange multipliers.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of a fractional version of non-linear \mathfrakMn(t)\mathfrak{M}^{\nu}(t), t>0 death processes. Fractionality is introduced by replacing the usual integer-order derivative in the difference-differential equations governing the state probabilities, with the fractional derivative understood in the sense of Dzhrbashyan–Caputo. We derive explicitly the state probabilities of the three death processes and examine the related probability generating functions and mean values. A useful subordination relation is also proved, allowing us to express the death processes as compositions of their classical counterparts with the random time process T (t), t>0. This random time has one-dimensional distribution which is the folded solution to a Cauchy problem of the fractional diffusion equation.  相似文献

The complex impedance of the Ag2ZnP2O7 compound has been investigated in the temperature range 419–557 K and in the frequency range 200 Hz–5 MHz. The Z′ and Z′ versus frequency plots are well fitted to an equivalent circuit model. Dielectric data were analyzed using complex electrical modulus M* for the sample at various temperatures. The modulus plot can be characterized by full width at half-height or in terms of a non-exponential decay function f( \textt ) = exp( - \textt/t )b \phi \left( {\text{t}} \right) = \exp {\left( { - {\text{t}}/\tau } \right)^\beta } . The frequency dependence of the conductivity is interpreted in terms of Jonscher’s law: s( w) = s\textdc + \textAwn \sigma \left( \omega \right) = {\sigma_{\text{dc}}} + {\text{A}}{\omega^n} . The conductivity σ dc follows the Arrhenius relation. The near value of activation energies obtained from the analysis of M″, conductivity data, and equivalent circuit confirms that the transport is through ion hopping mechanism dominated by the motion of the Ag+ ions in the structure of the investigated material.  相似文献

The propagation of electromagnetic waves issued by modulated moving sources of the form j( t,x ) = a( t )e - iw0 t [(x)\dot]0 ( t )d( x - x0 ( t ) )j\left( {t,x} \right) = a\left( t \right)e^{ - i\omega _0 t} \dot x_0 \left( t \right)\delta \left( {x - x_0 \left( t \right)} \right) is considered, where j(t, x) stands for the current density vector, x = (x 1, x 2, x 3) ∈ ℝ3 for the space variables, t ∈ ℝ for time, tx 0(t) ∈ ℝ3 for the vector function defining the motion of the source, ω 0 for the eigenfrequency of the source, a(t) for a narrow-band amplitude, and δ for the standard δ function. Suppose that the media under consideration are dispersive. This means that the electric and magnetic permittivity ɛ(ω), μ(ω) depends on the frequency ω. We obtain a representation of electromagnetic fields in the form of time-frequency oscillating integrals whose phase contains a large parameter λ > 0 characterizing the slowness of the change of the amplitude a(t) and the velocity [(x)\dot]0 ( t )\dot x_0 \left( t \right) and a large distance between positions of the source and the receiver. Applying the two-dimensional stationary phase method to the integrals, we obtain explicit formulas for the electromagnetic field and for the Doppler effects. As an application of our approach, we consider the propagation of electromagnetic waves produced by moving source in a cold nonmagnetized plasma and the Cherenkov radiation in dispersive media.  相似文献

When nk systems of an n-partite permutation-invariant state are traced out, the resulting state can be approximated by a convex combination of tensor product states. This is the quantum de Finetti theorem. In this paper, we show that an upper bound on the trace distance of this approximation is given by , where d is the dimension of the individual system, thereby improving previously known bounds. Our result follows from a more general approximation theorem for representations of the unitary group. Consider a pure state that lies in the irreducible representation of the unitary group U(d), for highest weights μ, ν and μ + ν. Let ξμ be the state obtained by tracing out U ν. Then ξμ is close to a convex combination of the coherent states , where and is the highest weight vector in U μ. For the class of symmetric Werner states, which are invariant under both the permutation and unitary groups, we give a second de Finetti-style theorem (our “half” theorem). It arises from a combinatorial formula for the distance of certain special symmetric Werner states to states of fixed spectrum, making a connection to the recently defined shifted Schur functions [1]. This formula also provides us with useful examples that allow us to conclude that finite quantum de Finetti theorems (unlike their classical counterparts) must depend on the dimension d. The last part of this paper analyses the structure of the set of symmetric Werner states and shows that the product states in this set do not form a polytope in general.  相似文献

We show that states on tensor products of matrix algebras whose ranks are relatively small are almost surely entangled, but that states of maximum rank are not. More precisely, let and be full matrix algebras with m ≥  n, fix an arbitrary state ω of N, and let E(ω) be the set of all states of that extend ω. The space E(ω) contains states of rank r for every r = 1, 2, . . . , m · rank ω, and it has a filtration into compact subspaces
where E r (ω) is the set of all states of E(ω) having rank  ≤  r. We show first that for every r, there is a real-analytic manifold V r , homogeneous under a transitive action of a compact group G r , which parameterizes E r (ω). The unique G r -invariant probability measure on V r promotes to a probability measure P r,ω on E r (ω), and P r,ω assigns probability 1 to states of rank r. The resulting probability space (E r (ω),P r,ω ) represents “choosing a rank r extension of ω at random”. Main result: For every r = 1, 2, . . . , [rank ω/2], states of (E r (ω),P r,ω ) are almost surely entangled.  相似文献

We study the local semicircle law for Gaussian β-ensembles at the edge of the spectrum. We prove that at the almost optimal level of n-2/3+e{n^{-2/3+\epsilon}}, the local semicircle law holds for all β ≥ 1 at the edge. The proof of the main theorem relies on the calculation of the moments of the tridiagonal model of Gaussian β-ensembles up to the p n -moment, where pn = O(n2/3-e){p_n = O(n^{2/3-\epsilon})}. The result is analogous to the result of Sinai and Soshnikov (Funct Anal Appl 32(2), 1998) for Wigner matrices, but the combinatorics involved in the calculations are different.  相似文献

Summary In the present review of liquid dynamics studies on liquid metals are reported. Particularly the case of liquid lead is reviewed because this case was carefully studied by neutron scattering technique,S(Q,ω) being determined at two widely different temperaturesT=623 K andT=1170 K and therefore different densities. In addition extensive supplementary MD simulations were made using a 16 384-particle system. The simulations ranged from a determination of an effective pair potential for lead to simulation of the density correlation functionsF(Q,t) andF s(Q,t), as well as the longitudinal and transversal current correlation functionsJ 1(Q,t) andJ T(Q,t). The MD simulation ?calibrated? via the experimentalS(Q) andS(Q,ω) was used to prolong the range of neutron data to draw conclusions regarding such quantities as dispersion relations for the current correlationsJ 1(Q,t) andJ T(Q,t), the generalized viscosity functions ν1(Q,t), ν1(Q) and νs(Q). Information regarding bulk viscosity νB(Q) is also gained. Conclusions are drawn regarding the relative importance of the derived pair potential form by comparison to corresponding hard-sphere data. The general framework of linearized hydrodynamic equations for the macroscopic situation transforming to visco-elastic equations of motion for finite wave-length and high frequency works well also for the case of a continuous potential. The region of transition from simple visco-elastic to hydrodynamic behaviour is occurring at wavelengths in the range (12÷20) ? for the cases studied. The spatial properties of the viscosity functions ν1(r), νs(r) and νB(r) are found to correlate well with the range of the radial distribution function for the liquid. The general results for liquid lead probably have wide range of applicability to other simple liquids with similarS(Q) andg(r) properties. The authors have agreed not to receive proofs for correction.  相似文献

Consider a family of infinite tri-diagonal matrices of the form L + zB, where the matrix L is diagonal with entries L kk  = k 2, and the matrix B is off-diagonal, with nonzero entries B k,k+1 = B k+1,k  = k α , 0 ≤ α < 2. The spectrum of L + zB is discrete. For small |z| the nth eigenvalue E n (z), E n (0) = n 2, is a well-defined analytic function. Let R n be the convergence radius of its Taylor’s series about z = 0. In Torossian (J Lie Theory 12(2):597–616, 2002), the second author used the Kontsevich deformation quantization technique to define a natural connection ω n on the compactified configuration spaces [`(C)]n,0{\overline{C}_{n,0}} of n points on the upper half-plane. Connections ω n take values in the Lie algebra of derivations of the free Lie algebra with n generators. In this paper, we show that ω n is flat.  相似文献

Excited states of the 49107In nucleus were populated through the 78Se ( 32S , p2n) fusion-evaporation reaction at beam energy, E lab = 125 MeV. The de-excitations were studied using in-beam g \gamma -ray spectroscopic techniques involving the Compton-suppressed clover detector array. The level scheme of 107In consisting of about seven bands is established up to spin ∼ 45/2ℏ with the addition of 25 new transitions. Spins and parities of various levels have been assigned through the DCO and polarization measurements. The level structures observed in 107In have been interpreted in the framework of a microscopic theory based on the deformed Hartree-Fock (HF) and angular-momentum projection techniques. Various bands are reproduced in band mixing calculations with the configurations involving high-W \Omega p \pi g 9/2 and n \nu d 5/2 orbits, and low-W \Omega p \pi g 7/2 , n \nu g 7/2 and n \nu h 11/2 orbits.  相似文献

Infrared asymptotic behavior of a scalar field, passively advected by a random shear flow, is studied by means of the field theoretic renormalization group and the operator product expansion. The advecting velocity is Gaussian, white in time, with correlation function of the form μ d(t-t¢) / k^d-1+x\propto\delta(t-t') / k_{\bot}^{d-1+\xi}, where k =|k | and k is the component of the wave vector, perpendicular to the distinguished direction (‘direction of the flow’)—the d-dimensional generalization of the ensemble introduced by Avellaneda and Majda (Commun. Math. Phys. 131:381, 1990). The structure functions of the scalar field in the infrared range exhibit scaling behavior with exactly known critical dimensions. It is strongly anisotropic in the sense that the dimensions related to the directions parallel and perpendicular to the flow are essentially different. In contrast to the isotropic Kraichnan’s rapid-change model, the structure functions show no anomalous (multi)scaling and have finite limits when the integral turbulence scale tends to infinity. On the contrary, the dependence of the internal scale (or diffusivity coefficient) persists in the infrared range. Generalization to the velocity field with a finite correlation time is also obtained. Depending on the relation between the exponents in the energy spectrum E μ k^1-e\mathcal{E} \propto k_{\bot}^{1-\varepsilon} and in the dispersion law w μ k^2-h\omega\propto k_{\bot}^{2-\eta}, the infrared behavior of the model is given by the limits of vanishing or infinite correlation time, with the crossover at the ray η=0, ε>0 in the εη plane. The physical (Kolmogorov) point ε=8/3, η=4/3 lies inside the domain of stability of the rapid-change regime; there is no crossover line going through this point.  相似文献

A dynamics of low-energy nuclear forces is investigated for low-energy electromagnetic and weak nuclear reactions with the deuteron in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model of light nuclei by example of the neutron-proton radiative capture (M1-capture) n + p → D + γ, the photomagnetic disintegration of the deuteron γ + D → n + p and weak reactions of astrophysical interest. These are the solar proton burning p + p → D + e+ + ν e, the pep-process p + e + p → D + ν e and the neutrino and antineutrino disintegration of the deuteron caused by charged ν e + D → e + p + p, + D → e+ + n + n and neutral ν e() + D → ν e() + n + p weak currents.  相似文献

We present a parametrization of the observed enhancement in the transverse electron quasielastic (QE) response function for nucleons bound in carbon as a function of the square of the four momentum transfer (Q 2) in terms of a correction to the magnetic form factors of bound nucleons. The parametrization should also be applicable to the transverse cross section in neutrino scattering. If the transverse enhancement originates from meson exchange currents (MEC), then it is theoretically expected that any enhancement in the longitudinal or axial contributions is small. We present the predictions of the “Transverse Enhancement” model (which is based on electron scattering data only) for the ν μ , [`(n)]m\bar{\nu}_{\mu} differential and total QE cross sections for nucleons bound in carbon. The Q 2 dependence of the transverse enhancement is observed to resolve much of the long standing discrepancy in the QE total cross sections and differential distributions between low energy and high energy neutrino experiments on nuclear targets.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior solutions of stochastic differential equations dy t =dω t −∇Γ(y t ) dt, y 0=0 and d=2. Γ is a 2 &\times; 2 skew-symmetric matrix associated to a shear flow characterized by an infinite number of spatial scales Γ12=−Γ21=h(x 1), with h(x 1)=∑ n =0 γ n h n (x 1/R n ), where h n are smooth functions of period 1, h n (0)=0, γ n and R n grow exponentially fast with n. We can show that y t has an anomalous fast behavior (?[|y t |2]∼t 1+ν with ν > 0) and obtain quantitative estimates on the anomaly using and developing the tools of homogenization.
