The process of parametric amplification of the spin wave envelope solitons in ferromagnetic films with the use of parallel magnetic pumping was theoretically studied. Solutions obtained by numerical methods show that the value of the amplification coefficient depends on the relationship between the initial phases of the signal and the pumping carrier waves.  相似文献

The modulational instability and gap solitons are theoretically studied in the ferromagnetic films under a periodic magnetic field. By multiple scale expansion, the envelope soliton solutions are obtained naturally. Due to the periodic modulation of dispersion, the solitons may be pushed into the gap region. For the easy-axis magnetic film, the red-shift of frequency leads to a modulational instability in the bottom of band and generates a bright gap soliton. For the easy-plane case, the blue-shift leads to an instability in the top of band and a dark gap soliton emerges. The weak damping produces an attenuation factor and a small oscillation.  相似文献

Microwave spin-wave envelope dark solitons were experimentally observed for the first time. Dark solitons with zero minimum amplitude were generated by two-frequency excitation of input spin waves with a fixed amplitude. Nonlinear interaction between these two traveling waves gave rise to periodic sequences of dark solitons in a ferromagnetic film.  相似文献

We have performed experiments in which self-generation of dark envelope solitons for spin waves at microwave frequencies were obtained. The spin wave instability generated by parallel pumping in a tangentially magnetized ferromagnetic film is considered, with simultaneous regard for both the dipole and exchange fields. A dispersion equation and some expressions for the critical microwave threshold of the spin wave parametric excitation have been obtained. The dependence of the critical field on the magnetizing field has an unusually oscillating character. This is connected both with the discreteness of spin wave spectrum and the peculiarities of spin wave polarization in a tangentially magnetized film.  相似文献

Formation of waves of large amplitude (freak waves, killer waves) at the surface of the ocean is studied numerically. We have observed that freak waves have the same ratio of the wave height to the wave length as limiting Stokes waves. When a freak wave reaches this limiting state, it breaks. The physical mechanism of freak wave formation is discussed.  相似文献

We study the propagation of velocity-locked dark triplet solitons in the three wave resonant interaction model. The modulational instability of the plane wave background where the solitons sit prevents the long range propagation. However even a small second order dispersion proves to greatly reduce, or suppress, the modulational instability gain, allowing for effective stable soliton propagation.  相似文献

Dust-acoustic (DA) waves (DAWs) and their modulational instability (MI) have been investigated theoretically in a plasma system consisting of inertial opposite polarity (positively and negatively) warm adiabatic charged dust grains as well as inertialess non-extensive q?distributed electrons and non-thermal ions. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. It has been observed from the analysis of NLSE that the modulationally stable solitary DAWs give rise to the existence of dark envelope solitons, and that the modulationally unstable solitary DAWs give rise to the existence of bright envelope solitons or rogue structures. It is also observed for the fast mode of DAWs that the basic features (viz. stability of the DAWs, MI, growth rate, amplitude, and width of the DA rogue waves, etc.) are significantly modified by the related plasma parameters (viz. dust masses, dust charge state, non-extensive parameter q, and non-thermal parameter α). The results of our present investigation might be useful for understanding different nonlinear electrostatic phenomena in both space (viz. ionosphere and mesosphere) and laboratory plasmas (viz. high intensity laser irradiation and hot cathode discharge).  相似文献

Nonlinear phenomena that arise during the propagation of spin waves in thin ferromagnetic films under conditions of the simultaneous existence of three-wave and four-wave parametric processes have been investigated. Investigations have been performed for single-frequency and double-frequency regimes of excitation of intense spin waves. The spontaneous modulation instability of the monochromatic running spin wave has been revealed for the first time at frequencies at which three-wave decay processes are allowed. The pronounced generation of a periodic sequence of bright spin wave solitons has been observed under excitation of two monochromatic spin waves at the same frequencies.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation is carried out of the optoelectric effect in degenerate ferromagnetic semiconductors. This effect is due to s-d-exchange interaction between the carriers and the magnetic atoms, and is determined by the nonlinear dc current, proportional to the product of the alternating electric and magnetic fields of the light. We present the observation of incoherent anti-dark photovoltaic solitons in LiNbO3:Fe crystal. This new class of soliton states involves bright photovoltaic solitons on a background beam meeting ?? > 1, where ?? is the ratio of background illumination photovoltaic constant to that of soliton beam. For ?? < 1, dark photovoltaic solitons are generated. Furthermore, this novel type solitons are investigated experimentally by injecting coherent light and partially coherent background of infinite extent. In case of spatial coherence of the background lower than the threshold of incoherent modulation instability, these results indicate that bright photovoltaic solitons can propagate in a stable fashion.  相似文献

We present a theory of interstitial Mn in Mn-doped ferromagnetic semiconductors. Using density-functional theory, we show that under the nonequilibrium conditions of growth, interstitial Mn is easily formed near the surface by a simple low-energy adsorption pathway. In GaAs, isolated interstitial Mn is an electron donor, each compensating two substitutional Mn acceptors. Within an impurity-band model, partial compensation promotes ferromagnetic order below the metal-insulator transition, with the highest Curie temperature occurring for 0.5 holes per substitutional Mn.  相似文献

Using hydrodynamical model of semiconductor plasma analytical investigations are made for the amplitude modulation as well as demodulation of an electromagnetic wave in a transversely magnetised acousto-optic semiconducting plasma. The inclusion of carriers diffusion adds new dimension in the analysis presented here. Analysis are made under different wave number regions over a wide range of cyclotron frequency. It has been seen that diffusion of charge carriers modifies amplitude modulation and demodulation processes effectively. Numerical estimations are made for n-InSb crystal irradiated by pump wave of frequency 1.6 T s-1. Complete absorption of the waves takes place in all the possible wave lengths regimes when the cyclotron frequency becomes exactly equal to (v 2 + )1/2. Magnetic excitations in a series of GaMnAs ferromagnetic semiconductor films were studied by ferromagnetic resonance (FMR). Using the FMR approach, multi-mode spin wave resonance spectra have been observed, whose analysis provides information on magnetic anisotropy (including surface anisotropy), distribution of magnetization precession within the GaMnAs film, dynamic surface spin pinning (derived from surface anisotropy), and the value of exchange stiffness constant D. These studies illustrate a combination of magnetism and semiconductor physics that is unique to magnetic semiconductors.  相似文献

Conclusions In summary, we have studied the parametric instability of a cold electron plasma in a strong, circularly polarized electromagnetic wave, taking into account the relativistic nature of the electron motion. We have shown that an instability of longitudinal waves occurs at frequencies p/ and p/, while an instability of transverse waves occurs at frequencies 0±0 and 0±p/. The results of a numerical solution of the dispersion relation for large pump amplitudes, in which case the approximation of a weak coupling between waves is not applicable, show that the growth rates and the bands of the instabilities increase with increasing pump amplitude. We have found that in the case of the excitation of electromagnetic plasma waves, even at low pump amplitudes, the relativistic nature of the electron motion can be of decisive importance for the effect.T. The influence of an intense laser field on the intraband motion of a charge carrier in the localized moment potential of a ferromagnetic semiconductor is discussed. The quasienergy spectrum of a free carrier is calculated and it is shown that for very large fields the energy-gap between the spin branches decreases with increasing laser amplitude.  相似文献
