We present a constructive analysis of the logical notions of satisfiability and consistency for first-order intuitionistic formulae. In particular, we use formal topology theory to provide a positive semantics for satisfiability. Then we propose a “co-inductive” logical calculus, which captures the positive content of consistency.  相似文献

We introduce a realisability semantics for infinitary intuitionistic set theory that is based on Ordinal Turing Machines (OTMs). We show that our notion of OTM-realisability is sound with respect to certain systems of infinitary intuitionistic logic, and that all axioms of infinitary Kripke-Platek set theory are realised. Finally, we use a variant of our notion of realisability to show that the propositional admissible rules of (finitary) intuitionistic Kripke-Platek set theory are exactly the admissible rules of intuitionistic propositional logic.  相似文献

Synthetic Domain Theory provides a setting for denotational semantics following Dana Scott's slogan domains as sets in which all functions are continuous. Several approaches can be found in the literature, but they are either model-dependent or if they use an axiomatic setting then not uniformly and not explicitly. We present a completely logical approach to Synthetic Domain Theory (SDT), axiomatizing (complete) Extensional PERs. On these grounds some basic domain theory is developed. Special attention is devoted to admissibility. The axiomatic approach is advantageous since it allows for easy formalization and comparison to other axiomatic settings. The consistency of the theory is shown by providing an appropriate realizability model. It is discussed how to get from this special kind of SDT {à la Scott} to a more general form which unifies several approaches.  相似文献

In this paper, we define a realizability semantics for the simply typed λμ-calculus. We show that, if a term is typable, then it inhabits the interpretation of its type. This result serves to give characterizations of the computational behavior of some closed typed terms. We also prove a completeness result of our realizability semantics using a particular term model.  相似文献

The notion of hyperarithmetical realizability is introduced for various extensions of the language of formal arithmetic. The correctness of classical, intuitionistic, and basic logic with respect to the semantics based on hyperarithmetical realizability is studied.  相似文献

Absolute arithmetical realizability of predicate formulas is introduced. It is proved that the intuitionistic logic is not correct with this semantics, but the basic logic is correct.  相似文献

A semantics of realizability based on hyperarithmetical predicates of membership is introduced for formulas of the language of set theory. It is proved that the constructive set theory without the extensionality axiom is sound with this semantics.  相似文献

An overview is given of work we have done in recent years on the semantics of concurrency, concentrating on semantic models built on metric structures. Three contrasting themes are discussed, viz. (i) uniform or schematic versus nonuniform or interpreted languages; (ii) operational versus denotational semantics, and (iii) linear time versus branching time models. The operational models are based on Plotkin's transition systems. Language constructs which receive particular attention are recursion and merge, synchronization and global nondeterminacy, process creation, and communication with value passing. Various semantic equivalence results are established. Both in the definitions and in the derivation of these equivalences, essential use is made of Banach's theorem for contracting functions.Dedicated to Peter Naur on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献

It is shown that all the provably total functions of Basic Arithmetic BA, a theory introduced by Ruitenburg based on Predicate Basic Calculus, are primitive recursive. Along the proof a new kind of primitive recursive realizability to which BA is sound, is introduced. This realizability is similar to Kleene's recursive realizability, except that recursive functions are restricted to primitive recursives.  相似文献

Atanassov (1986) defined the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy set, which is a generalization of the notion of Zadeh’ fuzzy set. In this paper, we first develop some similarity measures of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Then, we define the notions of positive ideal intuitionistic fuzzy set and negative ideal intuitionistic fuzzy set. Finally, we apply the similarity measures to multiple attribute decision making under intuitionistic fuzzy environment.  相似文献

Using a slight generalization, due to Palmgren, of sheaf semantics, we present a term-model construction that assigns a model to any first-order intuitionistic theory. A modification of this construction then assigns a nonstandard model to any theory of arithmetic, enabling us to reproduce conservation results of Moerdijk and Palmgren for nonstandard Heyting arithmetic. Internalizing the construction allows us to strengthen these results with additional transfer rules; we then show that even trivial transfer axioms or minor strengthenings of these rules destroy conservativity over HA. The analysis also shows that nonstandard HA has neither the disjunction property nor the explicit definability property. Finally, careful attention to the complexity of our definitions allows us to show that a certain weak fragment of intuitionistic nonstandard arithmetic is conservative over primitive recursive arithmetic. In the first part of this paper we investigate the intuitionistic version of (in the language of ), using Kleene's recursive realizability techniques. Our treatment closely parallels the usual one for and establishes a number of nice properties for , e.g. existence of primitive recursive choice functions (this is established by different means also in [D94]). We then sharpen an unpublished theorem of Visser's to the effect that quantifier alternation alone is much less powerful intuitionistically than classically: together with induction over arbitrary prenex formulas is -conservative over . In the second part of the article we study the relation of to (in the usual arithmetical language). The situation here is markedly different from the classical case in that and are mutually incomparable, while is significantly stronger than as far as provably recursive functions are concerned: All primitive recursive functions can be proved total in whereas the provably recursive functions of are all majorized by polynomials over . 0 is unusual also in that it lacks closure under Markov's Rule . In this paper we develop an abstract theory of adequacy. In the same way as the theory of consequence operations is a general theory of logic, this theory of adequacy is a general theory of the interactions and connections between consequence operations and its sound and complete semantics. Addition of axioms for the connectives of propositional logic to the basic axioms of consequence operations yields a unifying framework for different systems of classical propositional logic. We present an abstract model-theoretical semantics based on model mappings and theory mappings. Between the classes of models and theories, i.e., the set of sentences verified by a model, it obtains a connection that is well-known within algebra as Galois correspondence. Many basic semantical properties can be derived from this observation. A sentence A is a semantical consequence of T if every model of T is also a model of A. A model mapping is adequate for a consequence operation if its semantical inference operation is identical with the consequence operation. We study how properties of an adequate model mapping reflect the properties of the consequence operation and vice versa. In particular, we show how every concept of the theory of consequence operations can be formulated semantically.  相似文献

We extend the theory of unified correspondence to a broad class of logics with algebraic semantics given by varieties of normal lattice expansions (LEs), also known as ‘lattices with operators’. Specifically, we introduce a syntactic definition of the class of Sahlqvist formulas and inequalities which applies uniformly to each LE-signature and is given purely in terms of the order-theoretic properties of the algebraic interpretations of the logical connectives. We also introduce the algorithm ALBA, parametric in each LE-setting, which effectively computes first-order correspondents of LE-inequalities, and is guaranteed to succeed on a wide class of inequalities (the so-called inductive inequalities) which significantly extend the Sahlqvist class. Further, we show that every inequality on which ALBA succeeds is canonical. Projecting these results on specific signatures yields state-of-the-art correspondence and canonicity theory for many well known modal expansions of classical and intuitionistic logic and for substructural logics, from classical poly-modal logics to (bi-)intuitionistic modal logics to the Lambek calculus and its extensions, the Lambek-Grishin calculus, orthologic, the logic of (not necessarily distributive) De Morgan lattices, and the multiplicative-additive fragment of linear logic.  相似文献

We take the well-known intuitionistic modal logic of Fischer Servi with semantics in bi-relational Kripke frames, and give the natural extension to topological Kripke frames. Fischer Servi’s two interaction conditions relating the intuitionistic pre-order (or partial-order) with the modal accessibility relation generalize to the requirement that the relation and its inverse be lower semi-continuous with respect to the topology. We then investigate the notion of topological bisimulation relations between topological Kripke frames, as introduced by Aiello and van Benthem, and show that their topology-preserving conditions are equivalent to the properties that the inverse relation and the relation are lower semi-continuous with respect to the topologies on the two models. The first main result is that this notion of topological bisimulation yields semantic preservation w.r.t. topological Kripke models for both intuitionistic tense logics, and for their classical companion multi-modal logics in the setting of the Gödel translation. After giving canonical topological Kripke models for the Hilbert-style axiomatizations of the Fischer Servi logic and its classical companion logic, we use the canonical model in a second main result to characterize a Hennessy–Milner class of topological models between any pair of which there is a maximal topological bisimulation that preserve the intuitionistic semantics.  相似文献

Brouwer’s views on the foundations of mathematics have inspired the study of intuitionistic logic, including the study of the intuitionistic propositional calculus and its extensions. The theory of these systems has become an independent branch of logic with connections to lattice theory, topology, modal logic, and other areas. This paper aims to present a modern account of semantics for intuitionistic propositional systems. The guiding idea is that of a hierarchy of semantics, organized by increasing generality: from the least general Kripke semantics on through Beth semantics, topological semantics, Dragalin semantics, and finally to the most general algebraic semantics. While the Kripke, topological, and algebraic semantics have been extensively studied, the Beth and Dragalin semantics have received less attention. We bring Beth and Dragalin semantics to the fore, relating them to the concept of a nucleus from pointfree topology, which provides a unifying perspective on the semantic hierarchy.  相似文献

We define two notions for intuitionistic predicate logic: that of a submodel of a Kripke model, and that of a universal sentence. We then prove a corresponding preservation theorem. If a Kripke model is viewed as a functor from a small category to the category of all classical models with (homo)morphisms between them, then we define a submodel of a Kripke model to be a restriction of the original Kripke model to a subcategory of its domain, where every node in the subcategory is mapped to a classical submodel of the corresponding classical model in the range of the original Kripke model. We call a sentence universal if it is built inductively from atoms (including ? and ⊥) using ∧, ∨, ?, and →, with the restriction that antecedents of → must be atomic. We prove that an intuitionistic theory is axiomatized by universal sentences if and only if it is preserved under Kripke submodels. We also prove the following analogue of a classical model‐consistency theorem: The universal fragment of a theory Γ is contained in the universal fragment of a theory Δ if and only if every rooted Kripke model of Δ is strongly equivalent to a submodel of a rooted Kripke model of Γ. Our notions of Kripke submodel and universal sentence are natural in the sense that in the presence of the rule of excluded middle, they collapse to the classical notions of submodel and universal sentence.
