Let ϕ and ψ be holomorphic self-maps of the unit disk, and denote by C ϕ , C ψ the induced composition operators. This paper gives some simple estimates of the essential norm for the difference of composition operators C ϕ C ψ from Bloch spaces to Bloch spaces in the unit disk. Compactness of the difference is also characterized.  相似文献

We study the local operator space structure of nuclear C * -algebras. It is shown that a C * -algebra is nuclear if and only if it is an 𝒪ℒ∞,λ space for some (and actually for every) λ>6. The 𝒪ℒ constant λ provides an interesting invariant
for nuclear C * -algebras. Indeed, if 𝒜 is a nuclear C * -algebra, then we have 1≤𝒪ℒ(𝒜)≤6, and if 𝒜 is a unital nuclear C * -algebra with , we show that 𝒜 must be stably finite. We also investigate the connection between the rigid 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ structure and the rigid complete order 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ structure on C * -algebras, where the latter structure has been studied by Blackadar and Kirchberg in their characterization of strong NF C * -algebras. Another main result of this paper is to show that these two local structrues are actually equivalent on unital nuclear C * -algebras. We obtain this by showing that if a unital (nuclear) C * -algebra is a rigid 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ space, then it is inner quasi-diagonal, and thus is a strong NF algebra. It is also shown that if a unital (nuclear) C * -algebra is an 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ space, then it is quasi-diagonal, and thus is an NF algebra. We investigate the adjoints of linear fractional composition operators Cφ acting on classical Dirichlet space D(BN ) in the unit ball BN of CN , and characterize the normality and essential normality of Cφ on D(BN ) and the Dirichlet space modulo constant function D0(BN ), where φ is a linear fractional map of BN . In addition, we also show that for any non-elliptic linear fractional map φ of BN , the composition maps σ ο φ and φ ο σ are elliptic or parabolic linear fractional maps of BN .  相似文献

Let B n denote the unit ball in \mathbbC \mathbb{C} n , n ≥ 1. Let K \mathcal{K} 0(n) denote the class of functions defined for zB n as a constant plus the integral of the kernel log(1/(1 −〈z, ζ〉)) against a complex Borel measure on the sphere {ζ ∈ \mathbbC \mathbb{C} n ,: |ζ| = 1}. Properties of holomorphic functions g such that fgK \mathcal{K} 0(n) for all fK \mathcal{K} 0(n) are studied. The extended Cesàro operators are investigated on the spaces K \mathcal{K} 0(n), n ≥ 1. For any unital separable simple infinite-dimensional nuclear C -algebra with finitely many extremal traces, we prove that -absorption, strict comparison and property (SI) are equivalent. We also show that any unital separable simple nuclear C -algebra with tracial rank zero is approximately divisible, and hence is -absorbing.  相似文献

Assume that X is a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra A. It is shown that almost every n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping h:X×X×XnA is an n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping when holds for all x,y,z1,…,znX.Moreover, we prove the generalized Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of an n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping on a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra.  相似文献

Whenϕ is an analytic map of the unit diskU into itself, andX is a Banach space of analytic functions onU, define the composition operatorC ϕ byC ϕ (f)=f o ϕ, forfX. In this paper we show how to use the Calderón theory of complex interpolation to obtain information on the spectrum ofC ϕ (under suitable hypotheses onϕ) acting on the Bloch spaceB and BMOA, the space of analytic functions in BMO. To do this we first obtain some results on the essential spectral radius and spectrum ofC ϕ on the Bergman spacesA pand Hardy spacesH p,spaces which are connected toB and BMOA by the interpolation relationships [A 1,B] t =A pand [H 1,BMOA] t =H pfor 1=p(1−t).  相似文献

In this paper it is shown that Toeplitz operators on Bergman space form a dense subset of the space of all bounded linear operators, in the strong operator topology, and that their norm closure contains all compact operators. Further, theC *-algebra generated by them does not contain all bounded operators, since all Toeplitz operators belong to the essential commutant of certain shift. The result holds in Bergman spacesA 2(Ω) for a wide class of plane domains Ω⊂C, and in Fock spacesA 2(C N),N≧1.  相似文献

Spectrum and analytical indices of the C-algebra of Wiener-Hopf operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We study multivariate generalisations of the classical Wiener-Hopf algebra, which is the C-algebra generated by the Wiener-Hopf operators, given by convolutions restricted to convex cones. By the work of Muhly and Renault, this C-algebra is known to be isomorphic to the reduced C-algebra of a certain restricted action groupoid, given by the action of Euclidean space on a certain compactification. Using groupoid methods, we construct composition series for the Wiener-Hopf C-algebra by a detailed study of this compactification. We compute the spectrum, and express homomorphisms in K-theory induced by the symbol maps which arise by the subquotients of the composition series in analytical terms. Namely, these symbols maps turn out to be given by an analytical family index of a continuous family of Fredholm operators. In a subsequent paper, we also obtain a topological expression of these indices.  相似文献

Letp be an odd prime number, and letK be a cyclic extension of ℚ(ζ) of degreep, where ζ is a primitivep-th root of unity. LetC K be thep-class group ofK, and letr K be the minimal number of generators ofC K 1−σ as a module over Gal(K/ℚ(ζ)), were σ is a generator of Gal(K/ℚ(ζ)). This paper shows how likely it is forr K = 0, 1, 2, … whenp=3, 5, or 7, and describes the obstacle to generalizing these results to regular primesp>7.  相似文献

A completely positive operator valued linear map ϕ on a (not necessarily unital) Banach *-algebra with continuous involution admits minimal Stinespring dilation iff for some scalark > 0, ϕ(x)*ϕ(x) ≤ kϕ(x*x) for allx iff ϕ is hermitian and satisfies Kadison’s Schwarz inequality ϕ(h) 2 ≤ kϕ(h 2) for all hermitianh iff ϕ extends as a completely positive map on the unitizationA e of A. A similar result holds for positive linear maps. These provide operator state analogues of the corresponding well-known results for representable positive functionals. Further, they are used to discuss (a) automatic Stinespring representability in Banach *-algebras, (b) operator valued analogue of Bochner-Weil-Raikov integral representation theorem, (c) operator valued analogue of the classical Bochner theorem in locally compact abelian groupG, and (d) extendability of completely positive maps from *-subalgebras. Evans’ result on Stinespring respresentability in the presence of bounded approximate identity (BAI) is deduced. A number of examples of Banach *-algebras without BAI are discussed to illustrate above results.  相似文献

We show that the Strong Novikov Conjecture for the maximal C*-algebra C*(π) of a discrete group π is equivalent to a statement in topological K-theory for which the corresponding statement in algebraic K-theory is always true. We also show that for any group π, rational injectivity of the full assembly map for K*t(C*(π)) follows from rational injectivity of the restricted assembly map. (Received: February 2006)  相似文献

For an essentially normal operatorT, it is shown that there exists a unilateral shift of multiplicitym inC * (T) if and only if γ(T)≠0 and γ(T)/m. As application, we prove that the essential commutant of a unilateral shift and that of a bilateral shift are not isomorphic asC * -algebras. Finally, we construct a naturalC * -algebra ε + ε* on the Bergman spaceL a 2 (B n ), and show that its essential commutant is generated by Toeplitz operators with symmetric continuous symbols and all compact operators. Given anm-tempered strongly continuous action α of ℝ by continuous*-automorphisms of a Frechet*-algebraA, it is shown that the enveloping ↡-C *-algebraE(S(ℝ, A, α)) of the smooth Schwartz crossed productS(ℝ,A , α) of the Frechet algebra A of C-elements ofA is isomorphic to the Σ-C *-crossed productC *(ℝ,E(A), α) of the enveloping Σ-C *-algebraE(A) ofA by the induced action. WhenA is a hermitianQ-algebra, one getsK-theory isomorphismRK *(S(ℝ, A, α)) =K *(C *(ℝ,E(A), α) for the representableK-theory of Frechet algebras. An application to the differential structure of aC *-algebra defined by densely defined differential seminorms is given.  相似文献

We determine the essential spectra of algebraic combinations of Toeplitz operators with continuous symbol and composition operators induced by a class of linear-fractional non-automorphisms of the unit disk. The operators in question act on the Hardy space H2 on the unit disk. Our method is to realize the C*-algebra that they generate as an extension of the compact operators by a concrete C*-algebra whose invertible elements are easily characterized.  相似文献

Let (G, I, N, S) be an affine topological Tits system, and let Γ be a torsion-free cocompact lattice in G. This article studies the coinvariants H 0(Γ; C(Ω,Z)), where Ω is the Furstenberg boundary of G. It is shown that the class [1] of the identity function in H 0(Γ; C(Ω, Z)) has finite order, with explicit bounds for the order. A similar statement applies to the K 0 group of the boundary crossed product C *-algebra C(Ω)Γ. If the Tits system has type ? 2, exact computations are given, both for the crossed product algebra and for the reduced group C *-algebra.  相似文献

Let ϕ(r) = (ϕ1(r1), …, ϕn(rn)) be a vector-valued function on R + n . Let ϕ be a unimodular function on the unit circle and let Kp(ϕ) denote the kernel of the Toeplitz operator Tϕ in the Hardy space Hp, p≥1; . Suppose Kp(ϕ)≠{0}. The problem is to find out how the smoothness of the symbol ϕ influences the boundary smoothness of functions in Kp(ϕ). One of the main results is as follows. Theorem 1 Let 1<p, q<+∞, 1<r≤+∞, q−1=p−1+r−1. Suppose |ϕ|≡1 on and ϕ∈W r 1 (i.e., ). Then Kp(ϕ)⊂W q 1 . Moreover, for any f∈Kp(ϕ) we have ‖f′‖q≤c(p, r)‖ϕ′‖r ‖f‖. Bibliography: 19 titles.
