In this paper, an electrochemical application of bismuth film modified glassy carbon electrode for azo-colorants determination was investigated. Bismuth-film electrode (BiFE) was prepared by ex-situ depositing of bismuth onto glassy carbon electrode. The plating potential was ?0.78 V (vs. SCE) in a solution of 0.15 mg mL?1 Bi(III) and 0.05 mg mL?1 KBr for 180 s. In the next step, a thin film of chitosan was deposited on the surface of bismuth modified glassy carbon electrode, thus the bismuth-chitosan thin film modified glassy carbon electrode (Bi-CHIT/GCE) was fabricated and compared with bare GCE and bismuth modified GCE. Azo-colorants such as Sunset Yellow and Carmoisine were determined on these electrodes by differential pulse voltammetry. Due to overlapping peaks of Sunset Yellow and Carmoisine, simultaneous determination of them is not possible, so net analyte signal standard addition method (NASSAM) was used for this determination. The results showed that coated chitosan can enhance the bismuth film sensitivity, improve the mechanical stability without caused contamination of surface electrode. The Bi-CHIT/GC electrode behaved linearly to Sunset Yellow and Carmoisine in the concentration range of 5×10?6 to 2.38×10?4 M and 1×10?6 to 0.41×10?4 M with a detection limit of 10 µM (4.52 µg mL?1) and 10 µM (5.47 µg mL?1), respectively   相似文献

The possibility of detecting DNA depurination products on a glassy carbon electrode modified with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) was revealed. Adenine and a guanine DNA nucleotide were oxidized at similar potentials of about +1.1 V against Ag/AgCl; this fact did not allow us to detect adenine in the presence of DNA. DNA components did not interfere with the detection of guanine, which was oxidized at +0.9 V. Guanine was strongly adsorbed on the CNT-modified glassy carbon electrode; the oxidation current of guanine was a linear function of the concentration described by the equation i (10?6 A) = 3.21 + 0.44 c (10?6 M), r = 0.963. The results were suitable for the determination of guanine liberated from DNA on the CNT-modified glassy carbon electrode. The procedure developed was applied to evaluate the rates of DNA depurination under various conditions.  相似文献

A biosensor for hydrogen peroxide (HP) was developed by immobilizing hemoglobin on a glassy carbon electrode modified with activated carbon nanoparticles/Nafion. The characteristics of the sensor were studied by UV?Cvis spectroscopy and electrochemical methods. The immobilized Hb retained its native secondary structure, undergoes direct electron transfer (with a heterogeneous rate constant of 3.37?±?0.5?s?1), and displays excellent bioelectrocatalytic activity to the reduction of HP. Under the optimal conditions, its amperometric response varies linearly with the concentration of HP in the range from 0.9???M to 17???M. The detection limit is 0.4???M (at S/N?=?3). Due to the commercial availability and low cost of activated carbon nanoparticles, it can be considered as a useful supporting material for construction of other third-generation biosensors.

Procedures were developed for determining ionol by voltammetry and by coulometric titration with electrogenerated chlorine using the amperometric indication of the titration end point. Possible mechanisms of ionol oxidation with electrogenerated chlorine and its electrochemical oxidation at a glassy carbon and a gold electrode were discussed. Procedures were developed for determining ionol in mineral oil in analytical ranges from 1.0 × 10–4 to 1.0 × 10–2 M (RSD = 9%) and from 3.0 × 10–5 to 4.0 × 10–3 M (RSD = 9%) using a glassy carbon and a gold electrode, respectively. The detection limits for ionol at the glassy carbon and gold electrode were 2.8 × 10–4 and 1.0 × 10–5 M, respectively. The detection limit in coulometric titration was 20 g/mL.  相似文献

We describe a highly sensitive and selective amperometric sensor for the determination of nitrite. A glassy carbon electrode was modified with a composite made from gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and sulfonated graphene (SG). The modified electrode displays excellent electrocatalytic activity in terms of nitrite oxidation by giving much higher peak currents (at even lower oxidation overpotential) than those found for the bare electrode, the AuNPs-modified electrode, and the SG-modified electrode. The sensor has a linear response in the 10 μM to 3.96 mM concentration range, a very good detection sensitivity (45.44 μA mM?1), and a lower detection limit of 0.2 μM of nitrite. Most common ions and many environmental organic pollutants do not interfere. The sensor was successfully applied to the determination of nitrite in water samples, and the results were found to be consistent with the values obtained by spectrophotometry.

We have developed a sensor for the square wave anodic stripping voltammetric determination of Pb(II). A glassy carbon electrode was modified with a thin film of an antimony/poly(p-aminobenzene sulfonic acid) composite in air-saturated aqueous solution of pH 2.0. Compared to a conventional antimony film electrode, the new one yields a larger stripping signal for Pb(II). The conditions of polymerization, the concentration of Sb(III), the pH value of the sample solution, the deposition potential and time, frequency, potential amplitude, and step increment potential were optimized. Under the optimum conditions, a linear response was observed for Pb(II) in the range of 0.5 to 150.0 μg?L?1. The detection limit for Pb(II) is 0.1 μg?L?1.

The surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified by electropolymerization of p-aminobenzene sulfonic acid (p-ABSA) and the modified electrode was then prepared by in situ depositing antimony and target metal on the poly(p-ABSA) coated glassy carbon electrode. The antimony/poly(p-ABSA) film electrode displays high electrochemical activity in giving a peak current that is proportional to the concentration of Pb(II) in a certain range.  相似文献

We describe a chemical exfoliation method for the preparation of MoS2 nanosheets. The nanosheets were incorporated into poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) by electrodeposition on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to form a nanocomposite. The modified GCE is shown to enable simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA). Due to the synergistic effect of MoS2 and PEDOT, this electrode displays better properties in terms of electrocatalytic oxidation of AA, DA and UA than pure PEDOT, which is illustrated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Under optimum conditions and at pH 7.4, the respective sensitivities and best working potentials are as follows: AA: 1.20 A?mM?1?m?2, 30 mV; DA: 36.40 A?mM?1?m?2, 210 mV; UA: 105.17 A?mM?1?m?2, 350 mV. The calculated detection limits for AA, DA and UA are 5.83 μM, 0.52 μM and 0.95 μM, respectively. The modified electrode was applied to the detection of the three species in human urine samples and gave satisfactory results.

A novel glucose biosensor is presented as that based on a glassy carbon electrode modified with hollow gold nanoparticles (HGNs) and glucose oxidase. The sensor exhibits a better differential pulse voltammetric response towards glucose than the one based on conventional gold nanoparticles of the same size. This is attributed to the good biological conductivity and biocompatibility of HGNs. Under the optimal conditions, the sensor displays a linear range from 2.0?×?10?6 to 4.6?×?10?5?M of glucose, with a detection limit of 1.6?×?10?6?M (S/N?=?3). Good reproducibility, stability and no interference make this biosensor applicable to the determination of glucose in samples such as sports drinks.

We have developed a biosensor for highly sensitive and selective determination of the endocrinic disruptor bisphenol A (BPA). It is based on glassy carbon electrode modified with calf thymus DNA and a composited prepared from single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) and Nafion. The interaction between BPA and DNA was studied by voltammetry. The binding constant was determined to be 3.55?×?103 M?1, and the binding site has a length of 4.3 base pairs. These electrochemical studies provide further information for a better understanding of the toxicity and carcinogenicity of BPA. Under optimal conditions, the biosensor displays a linear electrochemical response to BPA in the 10 nM to 20 μM concentration range, with a detection limit as low as 5.0 nM (at an S/N of 3). The method was successfully applied to the quantification of BPA in leachates from plastic baby bottles. Recoveries range from 94.0 % to 106.0 % which underpins the excellent performance of this SWNT-based DNA sensor.

The authors describe an immunoassay for the determination of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) tumor markers by depositing a polydopamine-Pb(II) nanocomposite on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode. The nanocomposite acts as a redox system that displays a large specific surface and provides a strong current signal at ?0.464 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). After the deposition of PDA-Pb2+ on glassy carbon electrode, the electrode was additionally coated with a chitosan-gold nanocomposite. The immunoassay platform was obtained by immobilization of antibodies against carcinoembryonic antigens by using glutaraldehyde and blocking with bovine albumin. Owing to its large surface, good electrical conductivity and powerful current response, the immunoassay has a wide linear range that extends from 1 fg·mL?1 to 100 ng·mL?1, with a detection limit as low as 0.26 fg·mL?1. The results obtained with this immunoassay when determining CEAs in human serum were found to be consistent with those obtained by ELISAs.

We have prepared a nanocomposite consisting of single-walled carbon nanotubes and polylysine. It was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and by UV/vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Tyrosinase was covalently immobilized on the nanocomposite, and the resulting bioconjugate deposited on a glassy carbon electrode to form a biosensor for bisphenol A. The biosensor was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Under optimized experimental conditions, the biosensor gives a linear response to bisphenol A in the 4.00 nM to 11.5 μM concentration range. Its sensitivity is 788 mA M?1 cm?2, and the lower detection limit is 0.97 nM (at an S/N of 3). The biosensor shows good repeatability, reproducibility and long-term stability. In a preliminary practical application, it was successfully applied to the determination of bisphenol A in leachates of plastic spoons.

An amperometric sensor for L-Cys is described which consists of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) that was modified with reduced graphene oxide placed in a Nafion film and decorated with palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs). The film was synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The PdNPs have an average diameter of about 10 nm and a spherical shape. The modified GCE gives a linear electro-oxidative response to L-Cys (typically at +0.6 V vs. SCE) within the 0.5 to 10 μM concentration range. Other figures of merit include a response time of less than 2 s, a 0.15 μM lower detection limit (at signal to noise ratio of 3), and an analytical sensitivity of 1.30 μA·μM?1·cm?2. The sensor displays selectivity over ascorbic acid, uric acid, dopamine, hydrogen peroxide, urea, and glucose. The modified GCE was applied to the determination of L-Cys in human urine samples and gave excellent recoveries.

Abstract—The Pt nanoparticles-functionalized multiwall carbon nanotubes (f-MWCNTs) modified glassy carbon electrodes were used to study the electrooxidation of nitrite. Pt nanoparticles were electrodeposited on the f-MWCNTs modified glassy carbon (GC) electrode by applying a constant potential to the electrode for a specific time. By applying optimized conditions (using Minitab software), Pt/MWCNTs/GC electrode was prepared by immobilizing 40 μL of f-MWCNTs on the GC electrode and applying a potential of–0.20 V vs. Ag/AgCl for 120 s. The electrooxidation of nitrite was studied on the prepared electrode in 0.1 M KCl solution. The amperometric response of the prepared electrode linearly changes with the concentration of nitrite from 4.0 μM to 2.4 mM. The detection limit of the electrode was found to be 1.5 μM (S/N = 3) with a sensitivity of 28.7 μA/mM.  相似文献

The electrochemical oxidation of guanosine-5??-monophosphate (GMP) was studied with a glassy carbon electrode modified with a composite made from graphene and multi-walled carbon nanotubes. GMP undergoes an irreversible oxidation process at an oxidation peak potential of 987?mV in phosphate buffer solution. Compared to other electrodes, the oxidation peak current of GMP with this electrode was significantly increased, and the corresponding oxidation peak potential negatively shifted, thereby indicating that the modified material exhibited electrochemical catalytic activity towards GMP. Chronocoulometry demonstrates that the material also effectively increases the surface area of the electrode and increases the amount of GMP adsorbed. Under the optimum conditions, the oxidation current is proportional to the GMP concentration in the range from 0.1 to 59.7???M with a correlation coefficient of 0.9991. The detection limit is 0.025???M (at S/N?=?3).

A composite material obtained by ultrasonication of graphene oxide (GO) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was loaded with manganese dioxide (MnO2), poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), and the resulting multilayer hybrid films were deposited on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The microstructure, composition and electrochemical behavior of the composite and the modified GCE were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectra, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The electrode induces efficient electrocatalytic oxidation of dopamine at a rather low working voltage of 0.22 V (vs. SCE) at neutral pH values. The response is linear in the 0.5 μM to 2.5 mM concentration range, the sensitivity is 233.4 μA·mM ̄1·cm ̄2, and the detection limit is 0.17 μM at an SNR of 3. The sensor is well reproducible and stable. It displays high selectivity over ascorbic acid, uric acid and glucose even if these are present in comparable concentrations.

Ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) was synthesized and used to modify the surface of a glassy carbon (GC) electrode. Due to the unique properties of OMC, a decrease in the overvoltage of the reduction potential of methyl parathion (MP) (to ca. 219 mV) and a 76-fold increase in the peak current are observed (compared with a bare GC electrode). The absorption capacity of the surface of the electrode for MP was determined by chronocoulometry. The results show that the Г value of the modified electrode (2.34?×?10–9 mol cm–2) is 9.5 times as large as that of the GC electrode (2.47?×?10–10 mol cm–2). The new electrode exhibits synergistic electrocatalytic and accumulative effects on MP. MP can be determined by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) which displays a linear relationship between peak current and MP concentration in the range from 0.09 to 61 μM, with a detection limit as low as 7.6 nM (at an S/N of 3) and after an accumulation at 0 V for 5 min. The electrode was successfully applied to the determination of MP in spiked lake water samples.

Iron sulfides with different atomic ratios were synthesized by a hydrothermal method and used to modify a glassy carbon electrode. The various sulfides were compared to each other for their amperometric response to H2O2. It is found that FeS is the most adequate material. A new nanocomposite was developed by combination of nickel hexacyanoferrate nanoparticles (NiNP) and nano silver coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (nano Ag-MWNTs). The NiNP/nano Ag-MWNTs nanocomposite was charactered by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The NiNP/nano Ag-MWNTs nanocomposite modified glassy carbon (GC) electrode was used to investigate the electrochemical reduction of hydrogen peroxide. The results showed that NiNP and nano Ag-MWNTs provided the synergistic effect toward this process. Electrocatalytic oxidation of sulfide ion on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and a copper (II) complex was investigated. The Cu(II) complex was used due to the reversibility of the Cu(II)/Cu(III) redox couple. The MWCNTs are evaluated as a transducer, stabilizer and immobilization matrix for the construction of amperometric sensor based on Cu(II) complex adsorbed on MWCNTs immobilized on the surface of GCE. The modified GCE was applied to the selective amperometric detection of sulfide at a potential of 0.47 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) at pH 8.0. The calibration graph was linear in the concentration range of 5 µM–400 µM; while the limit of detection was 1.2 µM, the sensitivity was 34 nA µM?1. The interference effects of SO3 2?, SO4 2?, S2O3 2?, S4O6 2?, Cysteine, and Cystein were negligible at the concentration ratios more than 40 times. The modified electrode is more stable with time and more easily restorable than unmodified electrode surface. Also, modified electrode permits detection of sulfide ion by its oxidation at lower anodic potentials.   相似文献
