Using Guerbet tetradecyl alcohol C14GA (synthesized by Guerbet reaction using 1-heptanol as raw material) as intermediate, sodium Guerbet tetradecyl polyoxyethylene ether sulfates [C14GA(EO)nS, n = 1, 2, 4] were obtained through following steps: synthesizing Guerbet tetradecyl polyoxyethylene ether alcohols [C14GA(EO)nH, n = 1, 2, 4] by Williamson reaction, then esterifying with chlorosulfonic acid so as to form Guerbet tetradecyl polyoxyethylene ether alcohol sulfates [C14GA(EO)nSO3H, n = 1, 2, 4], and finally neutralizing with sodium hydroxide; while sodium Guerbet tetradecyl sulfate(C14GAS) was synthesized only through esterifying and neutralizing reactions. The structures of these anionic surfactants were determined by infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, and element analysis. The surface activity of these surfactants was studied by means of surface tension. The results have shown that these surfactants possess higher surface activity than the common surfactant C12H25OSO3Na. Branched-tail structure coming from Guerbet alcohol makes the anionic surfactant (C14GAS) have higher critical micelle concentration (CMC) and better effectiveness in lowering the interface tension between air and water than their linear counterpart (C14H29OSO3Na). Introducing oxyethyene group into the place between head group and tail group of the surfactant molecule with branched tail can lower the CMC, γcmc, and Krafft point. And the effectiveness for reducing the CMC, γcmc, Γmax, and Krafft point of surfactant increased with the increase of oxyethylene group number (n = 1, 2, 4). The relationship between the molecular structure and surface activity of surfactant is discussed.  相似文献

Nonylphenol-substituted dodecyl sulfonate (C12-NPAS) was synthesized via sulfonation-alkylation-neutralization using 1-dodecene, SO3, and nonylphenol as raw materials. The properties such as surface tension, interfacial tension (IFT), wettability, foam properties, and salinity tolerance of C12-NPAS were systematically investigated. The results show that the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of C12-NPAS was 0.22?mmol?·?L?1 and the surface tension at the CMC (γCMC) of C12-NPAS was 29.4 mN/m. When compared with the traditional surfactants sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), the surface properties of C12-NPAS were found to be superior. The IFT between Daqing crude oil and a weak-base alkaline/surfactant/polymer (ASP) oil flooding system containing 0.1?wt% of C12-NPAS can reach an ultralow level of 2.79?×?10?3 mN/m, which was lower than that found for the traditional surfactant heavy alkylbenzene sulfonate (HABS). The salinity and hardness tolerance of C12-NPAS were much stronger than those found for conventional surfactants, petroleum sulfonate, and LAS. C12-NPAS also shows improved wetting performance, foamability, and foam stability.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this work was to prepare hydrophilic anionic derivatives of polyglycerol esters in order to obtain new surfactants, characterized by the cosmetologic compatibility of renewable raw materials and the mildness of the chosen target surfactants. The derivatization has been done by esterification between polyglycerol esters (PGE) and maleic anhydride (MA) followed by sulfonation at the double bond, by sodium sulfite, getting sulfosuccinic derivatives. Polyglycerol esters composed of fatty acids of C12 to C16 and polyglycerol with chain length of n=l?10 served as raw materials for a number of sulfosuccinates. The surface properties (cmc; surface excess concentration, γ; surface molecular area, A; effectiveness, πcmc; efficiency, pC20 contact angle, θ; wetting time and foam performance) of the raw materials and their anionic derivatives have been measured. The relationships between the chemical structure and the surface properties of the new surfactants have been established. Higher πcmc and better foaming performance but lower wetting power were obtained by increasing hydrophilic chain length, to n=6. Over this length an opposite trend was found. A linear relationship beween log cmc and hydrophobic chain length was determined. Optimization of surface properties was accomplished by optimizing maleation conditions.  相似文献

The redox reaction between tris(1,10-phenanthroline)iron(II), [Fe(phen)3]2+, and azido-pentacyanocobaltate(III), [Co(CN)5N3]3? was investigated in three cationic surfactants: dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB), tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTAB) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in the presence of 0.1?M NaCl at 35°C. Second-order rate constant in the absence and presence of surfactant, kw and kψ, respectively, were obtained in the concentration ranges DTAB?=?0???4.667?×?10?4?mol?dm?3, TTAB?=?0–9.364?×?10?5?mol?dm?3, CTAB?=?0???6.220?×?10?5?mol?dm?3. Electron transfer rate was inhibited by the surfactants with premicelllar activity. Inhibition factors, kw/kψ followed the trend CTAB?>?TTAB?>?DTAB with respect to the surfactant concentrations used. The magnitudes of the binding constants obtained suggest significant electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions. Activation parameters ΔH, ΔS, and Ea have larger positive values in the presence of surfactants than in surfactant-free medium. The electron transfer is proposed to proceed via outer-sphere mechanism in the presence of the surfactants.  相似文献

The dentritic quaternary ammonium salt-type tetrameric surfactant (4C12tetraQ) was synthesized, and the molecular structure was confirmed by 1H NMR and FTIR. The surface activity of 4C12tetraQ was investigated by surface tension, and surface chemical parameters, such as critical micelle concentration (cmc), efficiency (pC20), effectiveness (πcmc), the surface tension value at cmc (γcmc), minimum surface area (Amin), maximum surface excess (Γmax), and cmc/C20 were obtained from the measurement results. The results show that the 4C12tetraQ surfactant has higher surface activity than the traditional monomeric surfactants (dodecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, DTAB). The Krafft points were taken as <0°C, indicating that the synthesized tetrameric surfactants had good water solubility. Free energies of micellization and adsorption show that 4C12tetraQ display greater propensity to absorb at the interface than form micelle in the bulk of the aqueous solution, and that the two processes are spontaneous. The measurement results show that 4C12tetraQ has good emulsification power and foam performance. The corrosion efficiency was evaluated with the loss weight method in 1?mol/L HCl solution, and the results show that the 4C12tetraQ surfactant has good corrosion inhibition, and can be considered as a corrosion inhibitor.  相似文献

Various experimental methods were used to investigate interaction between polymer and anionic/nonionic surfactants and mechanisms of enhanced oil recovery by anionic/nonionic surfactants in the present paper. The complex surfactant molecules are adsorbed in the mixed micelles or aggregates formed by the hydrophobic association of hydrophobic groups of polymers, making the surfactant molecules at oil-water interface reduce and the value of interfacial tension between oil and water increase. A dense spatial network structure is formed by the interaction between the mixed aggregates and hydrophobic groups of the polymer molecular chains, making the hydrodynamic volume of the aggregates and the viscosity of the polymer solution increase. Because of the formation of the mixed adsorption layer at oil and water interface by synergistic effect, ultra-low interfacial tension (~2.0?×?10?3 mN/m) can be achieved between the novel surfactant system and the oil samples in this paper. Because of hydrophobic interaction, wettability alteration of oil-wet surface was induced by the adsorption of the surfactant system on the solid surface. Moreover, the studied surfactant system had a certain degree of spontaneous emulsification ability (D50?=?25.04?µm) and was well emulsified with crude oil after the mechanical oscillation (D50?=?4.27?µm).  相似文献

The effect of the addition of 2-methoxyethanol on the critical micelle concentration (cmc) and on the degree of counterion dissociation (??) of butanediyl-1,4-bis(tetradecyldimethylammonium bromide) gemini surfactant, [C14H29N+(CH3)2?C(CH2)4?CN+(CH3)2C14H29,2Br?] (referred as 14?C4?C14,2Br?), has been studied by varying the compositions of the 2-methoxyethanol + water mixed solvent media (0 to 50?%). To determine various thermodynamic parameters of micellization, on the basis of the mass?Caction model for micelle formation, the experiments were performed at selected compositions of the mixed solvent at four temperatures ranging between 25?°C and 50?°C. Furthermore, the air/bulk surface tensions of the pure and mixed media were determined, and a successful attempt was made to correlate the cohesive energy density described through the Gordon parameter with the values of Gibbs energy of micellization.  相似文献

We investigate the surface properties of aqueous binary mixtures of our cationic surfactant O-dodecyl-N,N′-diisopropylisourea hydrochloride (ISO-DIC C12) with commercially available nonionic surfactant polyoxyethylene p-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenyl ether (TritonX-100) at different temperatures (288 to 303?K). The micellization behavior of the binary systems is studied by determining the surface tension and other important physicochemical parameters, such as the critical micelle concentration (CMC), surface tension at the CMC(γcmc), Krafft Temperature (TK), maximum excess concentration (Γmax), minimum surface area per molecule (Amin), surface pressure at the CMC (Пcmc), and the adsorption efficiency (pC20) at the air/water interface. The study has additionally covered the calculation of thermodynamic parameters of micellization, including the standard Gibbs free energy, the standard enthalpy, the standard entropy, the free energy, and the Gibbs free energy of adsorption at air/water interface. The CMC values of the binary systems determined by experimental data are used to evaluate the micellar composition in the mixed micelle, the interaction parameter β and the activity coefficients f1(ISO-DIC C12) and f2 (polyoxyethylene p-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenyl ether) using the theoretical treatment proposed by Clint and Rubingh. Our results reveal that the proposed binary systems possess enhanced surface activity compared to those of the individual surfactants.  相似文献

A series of switchable surfactants with double hydrophobic chains and a single hydrophilic head N,N’-dialkylacetamidinium bicarbonate with an alkyl length between diC8 and diC12 were synthesized by using new approaches. The structures of acetamidinium bicarbonate were characterized by 1?H NMR and ESI-MS spectroscopy. The surface activity in aqueous solution of N,N’-dialkylacetamidinium bicarbonate and N’-alkyl-N,N-dimethylacetamidinium were compared by surface tension methods. Some surface activity parameters were studied, such as cmc, γcmc, pC20, cmc/C20, Γmax, and Amin. The results indicated that double-chain surfactant was superior to single-chain surfactant and showed more excellent surface activity. The switchability was confirmed by monitoring the conductivity of a solution of amidine in ethanol and their effect in emulsion stability was also investigated.  相似文献

Six quaternary ammonium salts were designed and synthesised with moderate to high yields in three steps, based on cardanol, a low-cost and abundant renewable resource. The new ammonium salts can act as reactive surfactants due to their having both a hydrophilic ammonium group and a hydrophobic unsaturated alkyl chain. The gemini surfactants with a linker of a linear saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon chain exhibited a relatively low CMC value (≤ 0.2 mmol L?1) and surface tension (≤ 27 mN m?1), signifying that this kind of amphiphile exhibited good surface active properties. The photo-active gemini surfactant with critical micelle concentration (CMC) of 0.05 mmol L?1 was used successfully as the sole emulsifier in the emulsion polymerisation of methyl methacrylate (MMA). In addition, a benzyl bromide-containing surfactant can act as both an atom transfer radical polymerisation (ATRP) initiator and an emulsifier in an activator generated by the electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerisation (AGET ATRP) of MMA in emulsion. The value of the number-average molecular mass of the resulting cardanol-end poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is Mn,GPC = 45.1 kDa, with polydispersity of 1.39.  相似文献

A series of glucosyl esters surfactants were synthesized based on glucose molecule by enzymatic catalysis. It could reach the highest esterification yield of 83.4% at the optimal condition, molar ratio of D-glucose and fatty acyl amino acid as 3:2 using 11% (w/w) enzyme catalyst Lipozyme 435 as catalyst in t-butanol at 40°C. The surface activities were studied, such as the critical micelle concentration (CMC), surface tension (γcmc), maximum excess concentration (Γmax), minimum surface area/molecule (Amin), and the adsorption efficiency (pC20); values of these were obtained by surface tension test. The results show that the longer the hydrophobic chain length, the lower the CMC and γcmc. The CMCs of novel glucosyl esters were between 4.4 and 1.5 mM. Further, the micellization physiochemical parameters, including Gibbs free energy of micellization (ΔG), standard enthalpy change (ΔH), and standard entropy change (ΔS) were calculated. It was indicated the micellization of glucosyl esters 9–16 was driven by entropy and deduced at different temperature.  相似文献

A series of Gemini borate surfactants were synthesized based on glucose molecule. Their chemical structures were confirmed using 1H-NMR,13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and mass spectroscopy. The surface activities of these Gemini amphiphiles were measured, including surface tension (γ), critical micelle concentration (CMC), effectiveness (IIcmc), efficiency (pC20), maximum surface excess (Γmax), and minimum surface area (Amin) at different temperatures 25, 35, and 45°C either in pure water or in water–ethanol mixture (10%). Also, thermodynamic data including free energy, entropy, and enthalpy changes (ΔS, TΔS, ΔH) for adsorption at the air–water interface and also for micellization in surfactant solutions were calculated.  相似文献

A rosin-based ester tertiary amine salt (RETAS) cationic surfactant was obtained using natural rosin as raw material. GC-MS of RETAS was detailed analyzed. The pH-responsive mechanism of rosin-based ester tertiary amine (RETA) and RETAS was confirmed by applying theoretical calculations about electrostatic potential maps of RETA and RETAS cation using Gaussian software. Mixed system surfactants were obtained by blending RETAS cationic surfactant with sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) anionic surfactant. The binary mixed surfactant systems of RETAS and SDBS had obvious synergistic effect. The γcmc and CMC were 39.40?mN/m and 0.56?mmol/L at the optimum molar fraction of RETAS (α)?=?0.6, respectively. The stability time of emulsion with the optimum mixed system as emulsifier increased to 309?s at α?=?0.6. The emulsifying capacity of RETAS was much better than that of RETA. RETAS had pH-responsive targeted release and the optimum mixed system showed a relatively sustained drug release by using doxorubicin (DOX) as a model drug. These results indicate that RETAS surfactant and mixed system surfactant are both promising for applications in drug delivery and emulsification.  相似文献

A series of novel Gemini surfactants Cn-pi-Cn with piperazine moiety as spacer was synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectra. Their surface activities were evaluated by surface tension, electrical conductivity, and steady-state fluorescence. The obtained results indicated that the synthesized Gemini surfactants exhibited lower critical micelle concentration (cmc) and surface tension (γcmc) compared with traditional surfactants. The steady-state fluorescence measurement and electrical conductivity were recorded to demonstrate the accuracy of cmc values. In addition, the micellization was evaluated using conductivity measurement in the temperature range of 298–308 K. The foamability and foam stability of these Gemini surfactants were also examined. In which, the Gemini surfactant with the shortest chain (C12) showed the best foamability but the poorest foam stability. Hydrophile–lipophile balance and emulsifying ability were studied and a comparatively poor emulsifying ability displayed.  相似文献

The aggregation behavior of salt-free catanionic surfactants, tetradecyltrimethyl ammonium hydroxide (TTAOH)/fatty acid (FA) including octanoic acid (OA), decylic acid (DA) and lauric acid (LA) in aqueous solutions were studied. The critical micelle concentration(cmc), surface tension at cmc (γcmc), surface excess (Гmax), mean molecular surface area (Amin), adsorption efficiency (pc20) and surface tension reduction effectiveness (πcmc) were obtained from surface tension isotherms. Conductance measurements are reported for double chain surfactants like N,N,N-octylpentyldimethylammonium (OPAC) and N,N,N-octyloctyldimethylammonium chlorides (OOAC) in water-β-cyclodextrin solution. From the specific conductivity data, the apparent critical micelle concentration (cmc1) and the degree of counterion dissociation (β) were obtained at a fixed β-CD concentration (mβCD = 0.01190 mol kg−1, besides from the cmc1 value and that in water (cmc) the stoichiometry of the surfactant-β-CD complex was calculated. Densities, heat capacities, enthalpies of dilution at 298 K and osmotic coefficients at 310 K were measured for the same systems; the apparent molar volumes, Vλ, and heat capacities, Cλ, of two surfactants in β-CD solution, calculated as functions of surfactant concentrations ms, have made possible to obtain the properties of transfer of the surfactant from water to β-CD-water solutions.  相似文献

The micellar aggregation of a series of gemini surfactants [N, N’-dimethyl-N, N’-bis(2-alkylamideethyl)-ethylenediamine oxide (alkyl?=?C11H23, C13H27, C15H31)] in aqueous media has been investigated. The results show that there is an excellent agreement among the critical micelle concentration (CMC) values obtained by surface tension and steady-state fluorescence methods. Because of the occurrence of self-coiling or the formation of pre-micellization, the CMC values, the I1/I3 values, and the micelle aggregation numbers (Nagg) at CMC (Nm) increase with the hydrophobic alkyl chain length increasing. Besides, vesicles are observed above the CMC for all these surfactants.  相似文献

The effect of NaBr on the interaction between alkyltrimethylammonium bromide (CnTAB (n = 14 for TTAB and 16 for CTAB)) and ß-CD was studied by surface tension method. The first decrease in the γcmc of TTAB/ß-CD in the presence of NaBr mainly due to the elongated effective chain length of the hydrophobic part of the TTAB/ß-CD complexes; while the increase in the γcmc of both of the TTAB/ß-CD and CTAB/ß-CD in the presence of NaBr could be attributed to the close pack of CnTAB at the air/water interface.  相似文献

A series of anionic N‐acyltaurate surfactants, side chain containing aromatic nucleus (abbreviated as SAATT), were synthesized via Williamson reaction, hydrolyzation, and acylation. Krafft temperatures and surface properties of these surfactants at 30°C, that is, critical micelle concentration, cmc, surface excess concentration, Γmax, surface area demand per molecule, A min, efficiency in surface tension reduction, pC20, effectiveness in surface tension reduction, πcmc, and cmc/C20 parameter were determined. It was shown that these surfactants exhibit good solubility which was confirmed by measuring Krafft temperature. The cmc of SAATT was much smaller than that of conventional surfactants with similar effective carbon numbers, and shifted to lower concentration with increasing hydrocarbon chain length. In addition, the γcmc decreased with decrease in Γmax. The pC20 and the cmc/C20 got larger with the increase in hydrocarbon chain length. From the fluorescence intensity ratios of I 1 (373 nm) and I 3 (384 nm) using pyrene as a probe, it was indicated that the molecules of SAATT formed loose micelles with a broad size distribution.  相似文献

1-Alkyl-3-(2-oximinopropyl)imidazolium chlorides were prepared with different alkyl chain lengths (Alk = C12H25, C14H29). Some physicochemical indices (CMC and pK aapp) were determined. The reactivity of these compounds was studied in the dissociation of 4-nitrophenyl esters of diethylphosphonic, diethylphosphoric, and toluenesulfonic acids. The times for 50% conversion of the substrates into reaction products decrease in the series: C12H25 > C14H29 >C16H33. In selecting the direction of modification of the supernucleophilic functional surfactants, we should take into account not only their hydrophobic properties but also the efficiency of substrate solubilization as well as the reactivity of the oximate group in the surfactant micelles.  相似文献
