The crystal structure and magnetic properties of the Bi1 ? x Ca x Fe1 ? x/2Nb x/2O3 system were studied. It is shown that, at x ≤ 0.15, the unit-cell symmetry of solid solutions is rhombohedral (space group R3c). Solid solutions with x ≥ 0.3 have an orthorhombic unit cell (space group Pbnm). The rhombohedral compositions are antiferromagnetic, while the orthorhombic compositions exhibit a small spontaneous magnetization due to Dzyaloshinski?-Moriya interaction. In CaFe0.5Nb0.5O3, the Fe3+ and Nb5+ ions are partially ordered and the unit cell is monoclinic (space group P21/n). In the concentration range 0.15 < x < 0.30, a two-phase state (R3c + Pbnm) is revealed.  相似文献

Solid solutions of Bi1 ? x A x (Fe1 ? x/2Nb x/2)O3, where A = Ca, Ba, and Pb, are obtained and their crystal structure and magnetic properties are investigated. It is shown that for A = Ca and x ≈ 0.15, the symmetry of the unit cell changes from rhombohedral (space group R3c) to orthorhombic (Pbnm). The transformation leads to the emergence of spontaneous magnetization due to the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. Solid solutions with A = Pb remain rhombohedral up to a concentration of x = 0.3. Spontaneous magnetization sharply increases in the compound with x ≈ 1 at low temperatures and is due to the formation of the spin-glass component.  相似文献

The magnetization M(H) in the superconducting state, dc magnetic susceptibility χ(T) in the normal state, and specific heat C(T) near the superconducting transition temperature T c have been measured for a series of fine-crystalline YBa2Cu3O y samples having nearly optimum values of y = 6.93 ± 0.3 and T c = (91.5 ± 0.5) K. The samples differ only in the degree of nanoscale structural inhomogeneity. The characteristic parameters of superconductors (the London penetration depth and the Ginzburg–Landau parameter) and the thermodynamic critical field H c are determined by the analysis of the magnetization curves M(H). It is found that the increase in the degree of nanoscale structural inhomogeneity leads to an increase in the characteristic parameters of superconductors and a decrease in H c(T) and the jump of the specific heat ΔC/T c. It is shown that the changes in the physical characteristics are caused by the suppression of the density of states near the Fermi level. The pseudogap is estimated by analyzing χ(T). It is found that the nanoscale structural inhomogeneity significantly enhances and probably even creates the pseudogap regime in the optimally doped high-T c superconductors.  相似文献

The superconductor/ferromagnet proximity effect in the Pb/Co2Cr1–xFe x Al bilayer systems has been studied. Thin films of the Heusler alloy Co2Cr1–xFe x Al have been prepared at different substrate temperatures. It has been established using Andreev spectroscopy of point contacts that the degree of spin polarization of conduction electrons in the Heusler alloy is on the order of 30 and 70% for the films prepared at a substrate temperature of 300 and 600 K, respectively. It has been found that the dependence of the superconducting transition temperature on the thickness of the Pb layer at a fixed thickness of the Heusler layer is determined by the degree of spin polarization of the conduction band in the ferromagnetic layer.  相似文献

Using the first-principles calculations based on density functional theory, we investigate the more d-electrons doping effects on the electronic structure and magnetism of the parent inverse Heusler alloy Ti2CoAl by the substitution of Nb and V atoms for Ti(A) and Ti(B) atoms locating at the two inequivalent sublattices. The Ti2CoAl is half-metallic with Fermi level near the top of the minority-spin valence band and hence its spin-polarization is easily reduced by the spin-flip excitation. Our total energy calculations show that the V/Nb doping at the Ti(A)/Ti(B) site is energetically favorable compared with the Ti(B)/T(A) site due to the lower total energy. Our band structure calculations indicate that for the V doped compounds, half-metallicity can be well retained regardless of doping sites and percentages except for the case of Ti(A)-site doping with x = 1, while for Nb doped compounds, the half-metallicity persists only in Ti(B)-site doping with different percentages. For the doped compounds with half-metallicity, the Fermi level shifts from the top of minority-spin valence band to the bottom of minority-spin conduction band with increasing content of x, and typically, the doped compounds (V in Ti(A) and Ti(B) sites at x = 0.75 and 0.5, respectively; Nb in Ti(B) site at x = 0.5), whose Fermi levels are adjusted to the expected positions to effectively inhibit the spin-flip excitation are promising candidates for spintronics applications.  相似文献

We report X-ray diffraction, magnetization and transport measurements for polycrystalline samples of the new layered superconductor Bi4?x Ag x O4S3(0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2). The superconducting transition temperature (T C) decreases gradually and finally suppressed when x < 0.10. Accordingly, the resistivity changes from a metallic behavior for x < 0.1 to a semiconductor-like behavior for x > 0.1. The analysis of Seebeck coefficient shows there are two types of electron-like carriers dominate at different temperature regions, indicative of a multiband effect responsible for the transport properties. The suppression of superconductivity and the increased resistivity can be attributed to a shift of the Fermi level to the lower-energy side upon doping, which reduces the density of states at E F. Further, our result indicates the superconductivity in Bi4O4S3 is intrinsic and the dopant Ag prefers to enter the BiS2 layers, which may essentially modify the electronic structure.  相似文献

DC magnetization measurements are reported in the temperature range 20–100 K on a poly-disperse nano-particle sample of the spinel ferrite Fe2.9Zn0.1O4 with a log-normal size distribution of median diameter 43.6 Å and standard deviation 0.58. Outside a core of ordered spins, moments in surface layer are disordered. Results also show some similarities with conventional spin glasses. Blocking temperature exhibits a near linear variation with two-third power of the applied magnetic field and magnetizationM evolves nearly linearly with logarithm of timet. Magnetic anisotropy has been estimated by analysing theM-logt curve. Anisotropy values show a large increase over that of bulk particle samples. Major contribution to this enhancement comes from the disordered surface spins.  相似文献

The magnetoresistance, magnetization, and microstructure of granular composites with the general formula (Fe40Co40B20)x(Al2O3)100?x were studied for contents of the amorphous metallic component both above and below the percolation threshold (x≈43). The low-temperature transverse magnetoresistance of the composites is negative at x=41 and practically zero for x=49. For metal contents below the percolation threshold (x=31), a noticeable (7–8%) positive magnetoresistance, reached in magnetic fields of about 17 kOe, was observed. Possible mechanisms of the generation of inverse (positive) magnetoresistance are discussed.  相似文献

The structural, electronic, and magnetic properties and the enthalpy of formation of iron borocementites Fe3C1?x Bx (x= 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00) are analyzed using ab initio calculations in the framework of the electron density functional theory. It is found that the unit cell parameter a of the orthorhombic lattice increases linearly and the parameters b and c decrease as the boron concentration increases. The density of states at the Fermi level changes only slightly, and the main variations in the band structure occur in the region of the bottom of the valence bands. The magnetic moment of the iron atoms and the total magnetization and stability of the Fe3C1?x Bx phases increase linearly with an increase in the boron concentration.  相似文献

Single-crystal samples of the Bi2 + xSr2 ? x ? yCu1 + yO6 + δ system revealed anomalous (negative) thermal expansion in the temperature range 10–20 K. Magnetic fields of 1–3 T were found to strongly affect the position and width of the anomaly region. A thermal-expansion singularity was detected at temperatures T≈30–50 K, which may be related to the formation of a pseudogap.  相似文献

Layered single crystals of the TlGa0.5Fe0.5Se2 alloy in a dc electric field at temperatures ranging from 128 to 178 K are found to possess variable-range-hopping conduction along natural crystal layers through states localized in the vicinity of the Fermi level. The parameters characterizing the electrical conduction in the TlGa0.5Fe0.5Se2 crystals are estimated as follows: the density of states near the Fermi level NF = 2.8 × 1017 eV?1 cm?3, the spread in energy of these states ΔE = 0.13 eV, the average hopping length Rav = 233 Å, and the concentration of deep-lying traps N t = 3.6 × 1016 cm?3.  相似文献

The structural, magnetic, and electrical properties of half-metallic Heusler alloys Fe2MnAl, Fe2MnSi, and Co2MnAl have been investigated in the temperature range of 4–900 K. According to the X-ray diffraction analysis, these alloys have the B2 and L21 structures with different degrees of atomic order. The magnetic state of the alloys is considered as a two-sublattice ferrimagnet. The electrical resistivity and thermoelectric power have been discussed in the framework of the two-current conduction model taking into account the existence of an energy gap in the electronic spectrum of the alloys near the Fermi level for the subband with spin-down (minority) electrons.  相似文献

The magnetization, the electrical resistivity, the specific heat, the thermal conductivity, and the thermal diffusion of a polycrystalline Heusler alloy Ni45.37Mn40.91In13.72 sample are studied. Anomalies, which are related to the coexistence of martensite and austenite phases and the change in their ratio induced by a magnetic field and temperature, are revealed and interpreted. The behavior of the properties of the alloy near Curie temperature TC also demonstrates signs of a structural transition, which suggests that the detected transition is a first-order magnetostructural phase transition. The nontrivial behavior of specific heat detected near the martensite transformation temperatures is partly related to a change in the electron density of states near the Fermi level. The peculiar peak of phonon thermal conductivity near the martensitic transformation is interpreted as a consequence of the appearance of additional soft phonon modes, which contribute to the specific heat and the thermal conductivity.  相似文献

We investigate the electronic and magnetic properties of Fe2MnGa1?x Si x alloy (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1) using first-principles density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation method. The lattice constant decreases linearly whereas bulk modulus increases with increasing Si content. The total magnetic moment varies linearly with increasing Si content, which follows the Slater-Pauling rule. Electronic band structure calculations indicate that the Fe2MnGa1?x Si x exhibits half-metallic character for all the concentrations studied and the spin polarization and the spin-down band gap both increase with the Si content. Based on the magnetic properties calculations, the Heisenberg exchange coupling parameters give Fe-Mn ferromagnetic coupling and Mn-Mn antiferromagnetic coupling. The T C first decreases and then increases with Si content, which is in well agreement with the experimental results.  相似文献

The crystal structure of iron-doped barium titanate BaTi1–x Fe x O3 is studied by neutron diffraction in the range of 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.12. At low concentrations of iron, x < 0.01, and at room temperature, these compounds have a polar structure with tetragonal symmetry with space group P4mm. The temperature of the transition of the tetragonal ferroelectric phase into the cubic paraelectric phase with space group Pm \(\bar 3\) m for an iron concentration of x = 0.01 is 390 K (for pure BaTiO3, it is 410 K). At an iron concentration of x = 0.07, the crystal structure of the studied compounds varies, and it is described by the centrosymmetric hexagonal space group P63/mmc. The structural parameters of various phases of compound BaTi1–x Fe x O3 are determined from the experimental data.  相似文献

The effect of low-temperature annealing on the magnetization curve of YBa2Cu3O6 + x ceramics in the superconducting state (x ≈ 0.9) is investigated. When the annealing time is fairly long, the field dependence of magnetic moment M exhibits a feature in the form of a plateau, where the value of M remains almost constant. The evolution of this feature in the magnetization curves of annealed samples with annealing time and temperature is studied. It is assumed that low-temperature annealing gives rise to metastable ferromagnetic clusters in YBa2Cu3O6 + x ceramics, the contribution of which to the magnetic moment accounts for the feature in the magnetization curves of the annealed samples.  相似文献

The magnetic and elastic properties of the Bi1-xCaxMnO3 manganites are studied. The phase transformations revealed are ferromagnet-spin glass (x≥0.15) and spin glass-charge-ordered antiferromagnet (x≥0.25). The ferromagnetic state is characterized by ordering of the Mn3+d x 2-y orbitals. It is suggested that thespin glass state originates from local static Jahn-Teller distortions. The antiferromagnetic charge-ordered and the spin-glass disordered phases coexist in samples with 0.25<x<0.32, which may be due to the charge order-disorder phase transformation being martensitic in character. The magnetic phase diagram is constructed.  相似文献

The ability of a femtosecond laser pulse to manipulate and reverse the magnetization in a ferrimagnetic Gd24Fe66.5Co9.5 thin film was studied experimentally as a function of temperature. For a fixed energy of the laser pulse, the dynamics of magnetization showed different behavior depending on whether the sample temperature was below or above the magnetization compensation point (T M ). The conditions for full ultrafast demagnetization and magnetization reversal were easily achieved below T M , while the same laser excitation caused just 50% demagnetization above T M . This interesting change in magnetization dynamics is qualitatively explained in terms of effective changes in the magnitudes of magnetizations of atomic sublattices.  相似文献

SrDy x Fe12?x O19 (x ≤ 0.08) nanofibers have been synthesized by the electrospinning method followed by calcinations process. The partial substitution of rare earth ions Dy3+ (10.5 μ B of magnetic moments) mainly occupying 12k sublattice sites in the SrFe12O19 crystal structure is investigated and discussed in this work. An enhanced coercivity of 7155 Oe has been obtained when the doped content reached to 0.08 at a relative low calcination temperature of 800 °C. As a result, we believe the synthesized SrDy x Fe12?x O19 nanofibers can potentially be useful in high-density recording media as well as permanent magnets.  相似文献

The results of the ab initio FLAPW-GGA computations of the band structure of the recently synthesized layered tetragonal (space group I4/mmm) arsenide (Sr3Sc2O5)Fe2As2 as a possible basis phase of a new group of FeAs superconductors are presented. For (Sr3Sc2O5)Fe2As2, the energy bands, electron state density distributions, Fermi surface topology, low-temperature electron specific heat, molar Pauli paramagnetic susceptibility, and effective atomic charges have been determined. These results are discussed compared to similar data for the layered tetragonal crystals LaFeAsO, SrFeAsF, SrFe2As2, and LiFeAs that are the basis phases of the recently discovered high-temperature (T C ~ 26–56 K) 《1111》, 《122》, and 《111》 FeAs superconductors.  相似文献
