The propagation characteristics of a planar waveguide with chiral media filled in the cladding are presented. The effect of chirality on cutoff, dispersion and field distribution of the waveguide are studied. It's not adequate to just obtain eigenvalue for solving eigenvalue problem. Since the eigenvalues associated with longitudinal characteristic modes in dielectric waveguide array (DWA) has been studied, the paper concentrates on the corresponding eigenvector, namely, the amplitude of these characteristic modes. Through numerical study of the amplitude of longitudinal guided TE and TM modes in DWA, space harmonic (SH) coupling and energy conversion effect have been discovered. The paper not only contribute to deep understand the mechanism of SH interaction, but also do good to analyze the resonance, radiation problem in DWA. 相似文献

The propagation characteristics of a planar waveguide with mirror-conjugate chiralities filled in the core and the cladding (mirror-conjugate chirality waveguide) are presented. The effects of chirality on cutoff, dispersion and field distribution characteristics of the waveguide are studied. The results show that the waveguide with desired features can be made by appropriately selecting the chiralities of the core and the cladding, because the core chirality and cladding chirality have different influences on waveguide propagation characteristics. 相似文献

基于非线性包络方程我们研究了平面非线性介质波导中的时空不稳定性,得到了有拉曼散射效应情形下不稳定性调制的增益谱的表达式.结果表明在正常和反常两种群速度色散情形下,拉曼散射效应都会导致出现新的不稳定性区域,并且使原有的每一个谱分量的增益上升从而使谱的范围扩大.并通过分析反常色散情况下四种不同函数分布的非线性色散介质系数对不稳定性增益谱的影响,得到呈双曲函数分布的非线性色散介质最为理想. 相似文献

We report on experimental test of a 7.8 GHz power extractor using a dielectric loaded rectangular waveguide structure. This work is conducted at the Argonne wakefield accelerator (AWA) facility. The wakefield is excited by an electron beam travelling through a dielectric loaded rectangular waveguide, and the generated rf power is then subsequently extracted with a properly designed rf coupler. In the experiment, 30 MW of output power is excited by a 66nC single electron bunch, and wakefield superposition by a train consisting of four bunches is also demonstrated. Both the results agree well with theoretical predictions. 相似文献

The propagation of neutrons in the middle layer of a planar waveguide in the form of a three-layer thin film has been investigated. The microbeam from the end face of the film has been registered. The neutron channeling length has been measured as a function of the thickness of the upper waveguide layer and the resonance order. Transverse propagation eigen equations for dielectric waveguide array (DWA) are derived and eigen solutions can be uncoupled into TE and TM modes. A complete set of local integrals of motion(LIOM) is a key concept for describing many-body localization(MBL),which explains a variety of intriguing phenomena in MBL systems.For example,LIOM constrain the dynamics and result in ergodicity violation and breakdown of the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis.However,it is difficult to find a complete set of LIOM explicitly and accurately in practice,which impedes some quantitative structural characterizations of MBL systems.Here we propose an accurate numerical method for constructing LIOM,discover through the LIOM an interaction-induced characteristic length +,and prove a ‘quasi-productstate' structure of the eigenstates with that characteristic length + for MBL systems.More specifically,we find that there are two characteristic lengths in the LIOM.The first one is governed by disorder and is of Andersonlocalization nature.The second one is induced by interaction but shows a discontinuity at zero interaction,showing a nonperturbative nature.We prove that the entanglement and correlation in any eigenstate extend not longer than twice the second length and thus the eigenstates of the system are the quasi-product states with such a localization length. 相似文献

We analyze the collective excitations in two‐ and three‐dimensional binary Yukawa systems, consisting of two components with different masses. Theoretical analysis reveals a profound difference between the weakly and strongly correlated limits: at weak coupling the two components interact via the mean field only and the oscillation frequency is governed by the light component. In the strongly correlated limit the mode frequency is governed by the combined mass, where the heavy component dominates. A problem of normal electromagnetic oscillation modes in a rectangular waveguide with bi-isotropic inclusions having rectangular cross sections is formulated and solved. Analytical expressions for virtual currents caused by the presence of inclusions are derived by the method of natural modes. For isotropic inclusions, the convergence of the propagation constant of the principal mode, calculated by the method of normal modes, to its exact value is demonstrated with increasing number of basic functions. 相似文献
