The temperature dependence of the microwave photovoltage has been studied in microwave-induced states of a two-dimensional electron system, which are characterized by an almost dissipationless flow of a low-frequency current. At decreasing temperature, a smooth transition has been found from a bistable state, where the photovoltage demonstrates switching between two levels, which are due to reversals of the spontaneous electric field in a domain structure, to a steady state. The transition occurs as the shift of one of the levels of the bistable photovoltage to the other level accompanied by a decrease in the switching frequency. The results indicate the freezing of the dynamic domain structure in the state corresponding to the more stable configuration of the electric field. 相似文献

Ballistic electron waveguides are open quantum systems that can be formed at very low temperatures at a GaAs/AlGaAs interface. Dissipation due to electron–phonon and electron–electron interactions in these systems is negligible. Although the electrons only interact with the walls of the waveguide, they can have a complicated spectrum including both positive energy bound states and quasibound states which appear as complex energy poles of the scattering S-matrix or energy Green's function. The quasibound states can give rise to zeros in the waveguide conductance as the energy of the electrons is varied. The width of the conduction zeros is determined by the lifetimes of the quasibound states. The complex energy spectrum associated with the quasibound states also governs the survival probability of electrons placed in the waveguide cavities. 相似文献

This paper investigates the flux distributions of the electron photo-detached from H-ion localized in a gradient electric field. In contrast with the photodetachment in the uniform electric field [Phys. Rev. A 40(1989) 4983],where only two electron trajectories interfere at each given point on a detector, for the photodetachment in a gradient electric field, the electrons waves can travel along multiple paths from the negative ion to a given point on the detector plane, which makes the electron flux distributions on the detector plane become much complex. Using the semi-classical theory, we put forward a formula for calculating the electron flux. Our calculation results suggest that the electron flux distributions on a given detector plane is not only related to the propagation time of the detached electron, but also related to the detached electron's energy. With the increase of the detached electron's energy, the oscillating region in the electron flux distributions becomes enlarged and the oscillating structure in the flux distributions becomes much more complicated. This study will guide future experiment research on the photodetachment microscopy of the negative ions in the presence of non-uniform external fields. 相似文献

The effect of an external dc electric field on the two-dimensional extremely short optical pulse propagating in a zigzag carbon nanotube array was investigated. The electromagnetic field evolution in the investigated nanotube system is described by the Maxwell equations. The influence of the confining potential strength and temperature on the structures and dynamics of a two-dimensional (2D) dusty plasma system is investigated through molecular dynamic (MD) simulation. The circular symmetric confining potential leads to the nonuniform packing of particles, that is, an inner core with a hexagon lattice surrounded by a few outer circular shells. Under the appropriate confining potential and temperature, the particle trajectories on middle shells form a series of concentric and nested hexagons due to tangential movements of particles. Mean square displacement, self-diffusion constant, pair correlation function, and the nearest bond are used to characterize the structural and dynamical properties of the system. With the increase of the confining potential, the radial and tangential movements of particles have different behaviors. With the increase of temperature, the radial and tangential motions strengthen, particle trajectories gradually become disordered, and the system gradually changes from a crystal or liquid state to a gas state. 相似文献

Through an analysis of the nearest neighbor level fields, we investigate the evolution of the electron spacing statistics for atoms in parallel electric and magnetic dynamics as electric field strength increases. In the 'inter-l mixing' predominant region, the electron shows complex dynamics while in the 'inter-n mixing' predominant region, its dynamics behaves in a relatively stable way and the characteristic quantity ξ shows a slight oscillation. Comparing the dynamics for hydrogen and barium, we find that the core effect makes the main contribution to the chaotic behavior in non-hydrogen atoms. 相似文献

The degradation of AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) has a close relationship with a model of traps in AlGaN barriers as a result of high electric field. We mainly discuss the impacts of strong electrical field on the AlGaN barrier thickness of AlGaN/GaN HEMTs. It is found that the device with a thin AlGaN barrier layer is more easily degraded. We study the degradation of four parameters, i.e. the gate series resistance RGate, channel resistance R channel, gate current IG,off at VGS=-5 and VDS=0.1 V, and drain current ID,max at VGS=2 and VDS=5 V.
