The reduced adiabatic hyperspherical (RAHS) basis suggested previously is used to calculate elastic and spin-flip cross sections in the processes ()F+a → ()F′+a, a=(p, d, t), for collision energies 10?3?≤102 eV. The rapid convergence of the method is demonstrated: to achieve an accuracy of ?1% in the calculated cross sections, it is sufficient to use N≤10 of the basis RAHS functions. The comparison of the obtained results with the previous ones is presented.  相似文献

The adiabatic hyperspherical approach (AHSA) is applied for the numerical investigation of the scattering processes and resonances in Coulomb three-body mesic atomic systems. The results of the calculations of elastic and inelastic cross sections in low-energy collisions aμ + b (a, b = p, d, t), energies, lifetimes and local characteristics of resonant states of mesic molecular ions n Heaμ+ (n = 3, 4) are presented. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Differential cross sections of inelastic proton scattering on 13,15С isotopes are calculated using the Glauber multiple scattering theory at energies of 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 GeV for levels (Jπ = 1/2+, 5/2+ ), using oscillatory wave functions of the shell model. Partial (first- and second-order) differential cross sections in particular are estimated by determining the appropriate angular range of their main contributions.  相似文献

We analyze the production of H dihyperson (J π=0+,S=?2) via the (K ?, K+) reaction by means of the non-relativistic quark model. First, the H mass and mass spectrum of single baryons are calculated. When the single baryon spectrum is well reproduced, the H dihyperson has the binding energies about 20 MeV or 60 MeV corresponding to the choice of the strength of the confinement potential. Using this model and parameters, cross sections for H production are estimated. A new effect, contributions from color-octetQ 3?Q 3 components of H dihyperson, is taken into account. The cross sections for H production are enhanced about ten times by these contributions. TheK +-neutron coincidence cross section for H production is found to be 99–115 nb/sr2 at theK + forward direction forM H=2212 MeV and theK ? beam momentum 1.8 GeV/c.  相似文献

A phenomenological model is developed for describing the production of π + π ? pairs on a proton by virtual photons in the energy region of nucleon-resonance excitation. The cross sections are calculated for the channels γpπ ?Δ++, γpπ +Δ0, and γpρp, which make a dominant contribution to pion-pair production, and the results are compared with available experimental data. The contributions of nucleon resonances to the cross section for the reaction γpπ ?Δ++ are predicted within the developed approach.  相似文献

We calculate cross section for e+e? scattering into four-lepton final states such as e+e?e+e?, e+e?μ+μ?, μ+μ?μ+μ?, μ+μ?τ+τ?. We also give exclusive cross sectionsfor all cases where one or more lepton tracks are at large angles to the beams. The calculations are performed using a Monte Carlo event generator which takes into account the complete set of relevant lowest order Feynman diagrams.  相似文献

We study pion production on nuclei within the distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA) and using the local density approximation (LDA) for the treatment of possible nuclear spin-isospin mode enhancements. The scattering amplitude input is based on a one-nucleon mechanism since two-nucleon processes are here estimatedito be relatively unimportant. For discrete nuclear levels, we study differential and total (angle-integrated) cross sections for various pion-like levels (JP = 0?, 1+, 2?,…; T = 1); these are also compared with non-pion-like excitations. The cross sections for discrete excitations are quite small. The inclusive cross sections, achieved by summing over all nuclear states, are considerably larger, of the order of 0.1–10 mb. We use the Fermi gas model to test the importance of the quasi-free peak for various incident pion momenta k, and to study the closure approximation for summing over nuclear levels when calculating inclusive cross sections. It is found that for k of the order of about twice the Fermi momentum most of the quasi-free peak region contributes to the nuclear excitations, and the use of closure is justified and practical. All cases are studied as a function of g', the Migdal spin-isospin parameter, and it is found that the dependence upon this parameter may range from changes of an order of magnitude to a factor of two over the range 0.4 ? g' ? 0.7.  相似文献

The K+ meson (kaon) inelastic excitation of low-lying (Ex = 0–15 MeV) T = 0 collective states in 16O is theoretically studied as a function of energy and momentum transfer. The distorted wave impulse approximation is used to calculate angular distributions and total inelastic cross sections for exciting the first Jπ = 2+, 3?, 4+ and 5? states at lab energies from threshold to 400 MeV. The distortions are represented in a Kisslinger-type optical potential constructed from elementary K+-nucleon amplitudes. Total nuclear elastic and reaction K+-nucleus cross sections are computed to demonstrate sensitivity to choice in K+-nucleon amplitudes. Fermi motion effects are also assessed using a simple averaging procedure. The weak absorption character of the kaon is reflected in the inelastic calculations which predict selective excitation of low spin states at low momentum transfer and high spin states at high momentum transfer.  相似文献

Meson-photon-photon transition form factors for S-, P-, and D-wave states are calculated, the meson being treated as a non-relativistic heavy-quark-antiquark pair. The full dependence on both photon virtualities is included. Cross-section formulas for charge-conjugation even mesons with Jp = 0, 0+, 1+, 2+, and 2 in electron-positron collisions are presented and numerical results for LEP energies are given. In particular, we find two-photon event rates for χc1, ηc(2S), and ηb(1S) within reach of LEP.With minor modifications to incorporate SU(3)-flavour breaking we estimate rates for 18 light mesons as well, based on the observation that their two-photon decay widths agree remarkably well with measured data. Finally we point out that e+e cross sections for 1+ states do not vanish at low Q2, the Landau-Yang suppression factors of the two-photon cross sections being compensated by the photon propagators.  相似文献

The amplitudes for elastic and inelastic proton scattering on the neutron-rich nucleus 15C (to its J ?? = 5/2+ level in the latter case) in inverse kinematics were calculated within Glauber diffraction theory. First- and second-order terms were taken into account in the multiple-scattering operator. The 15C wave function in the multiparticle shell model was used. This made it possible to calculate not only respective differential cross sections but also the contribution of proton scattering on nucleons occurring in different shells. The differential cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering were calculated at the energies of 0.2, 0.6, and 1 GeV per nucleon.  相似文献

The yields of π+ K ?, pK ?, and pπ? atoms in the reaction p + Al → atom + X at energies of 24, 70, 450 GeV and emission angles of θlab=1°–6° are calculated from inclusive-production cross sections for p, π+, π?, and K ?. Estimates of these hadronic-atom yields for a Ta target are also given. The inclusive-production cross sections for p, π+, π?, and K ? are obtained within the Lund model of string fragmentation. The accuracy of the calculations is estimated by comparing single particle yields calculated by the Lund model and experimental yields of particles in proton-nucleus interactions.  相似文献

A calculation of the cross section for the reaction νγνμ + μ ? which is induced by the neutrino magnetic moment, is described in detail. The expression obtained for this cross section is used to determine the asymptotic behavior of the cross section for the reaction νNνNμ + μ ? by the Weiszäcker-Williams method. It is shown that, upon going over from the nucleus involved to a structureless particle (for example, an electron), the resulting expression is doubled owing to integration with respect to the virtual-photon momentum over the region m μ?Q?E ν, where the Weiszäcker-Williams approximation is not applicable. The method developed here makes it possible to obtain straightforwardly the known asymptotic expressions for the cross sections describing the reactions eNeNμ + μ ? and e + e ?W + W ? e + e ?.  相似文献

The first excited 2+, 3? and 4+ levels in 88Sr, 90Zr and 92Mo are described by the seniority υ = 2 shell model and by the two-quasiparticle BCS model. In both models the DWBA cross sections for inelastic electron scattering are calculated. It appears that both models often give the same cross sections, the overall normalisation being then the difference. The agreement with the experimental data for 90Zr and 92Mo for the shell model case is much better than for the BCS model.  相似文献

Differential elastic and inelastic neutron scattering cross sections for 182W and 184W have been measured at incident energies 4.87 and 6.00 MeV. Cross sections for the first (0+, 2+, 4+, 6+), second (0+, 2+), and some higher excitations are presented. Angular distributions exhibit direct reaction characteristics, suggesting that compound cross sections for these states are small. This is supported by statistical-model calculations. Coupled-channel calculations of cross sections are made using a phenomenological deformed optical potential. Quadrupole and hexadecapole deformations have been searched to optimize fits. The necessity of introducing a β6 deformation is investigated. Electric multipole transition matrix elements, used in the coupled-channel analysis, are obtained from the rotation-vibration model and the dynamic-deformation theory.  相似文献

The reactions π? pK 0 Λ,K 0Σ0 are studied at an incident momentum of 3.95 GeV/c using data from a high statistics bubble chamber experiment corresponding to ~90 events/μb. The differential cross sections and hyperon polarizations are presented and compared with existing data from earlier electronic experiments. The data in the forward hemisphere are used to perform an amplitude analysis of the 0?1/2+→0?1/2+ hypercharge exchange processes.  相似文献

Measurements have been made of relative production cross sections of the Jψ by π±, K±, p and p? at 39.5 GeV/c incident on copper. Jψ production rates from π?, K? and p? are similar. The Jψ relative particle/anti-particle production cross sections for x>0 are σ(π+)σ(π?)=(0.87±0.14), σ(K+)/σ(K?)=(0.85±0.5) and σ(p)σ(p?)=(0.15 ±0.08). The small p/p? cross section ratio disagrees with models of J/ψ production by gluon amalgamation.  相似文献

The cross sections of inelastic electron scattering on 4He leading to the quasi-bound state (0+, ε = 20.1 MeV) were measured in the momentum transfer range 0.8 fm?2 < q2 < 2.4 fm?2. We found it to be a pure longitudinal transition and give the form factor of this C0transition.  相似文献

We present new theoretical results of the flux-averaged 12C(ν e , e ?)12N and 12C(ν μ , μ ?)12N cross sections with ν μ (ν e ) coming from the decay-in-flight (decay-at-rest) of π +(μ +). These cross sections are relevant for the interpretation of the recent experiments on neutrino oscillation performed by the LSND and KARMEN collaborations. The microscopic approaches used are charge-exchange random phase approximation (RPA), charge-exchange RPA among quasiparticles (QRPA), and the Shell Model. We show that the exclusive cross sections are in nice agreement with the experimental values for both reactions when a large-scale shell-model calculation is performed. Concerning the inclusive cross section for ν μ coming from the decay-in-flight of π +, the calculated value keeps overestimating the experimental one by 20–30%, while the inclusive cross section due to ν e coming from the decay-at-rest of μ + is in agreement within experimental error bars with the measured values. The shell-model prediction for the decay-in-flight neutrino cross section is reduced compared to the RPA one because of the different kind of correlations in the calculation of the spin modes (in particular, the quenching of the 1+) and partially due to the shell-model configuration basis, which is not large enough, as we show using arguments based on sum rules.  相似文献

Using new experimental data, we calculated, with a high precision, a contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment from the vacuum-polarization intermediate states π0γ and ηγ taking into account a correction for the trapezoidal rule: aμ(π0γ+aμ(ηγ)=(53.1± 1.5)×10?11. We also determined a small contribution from the e+e?π0, e+e?η, and μ+μ?π0 intermediate states, which was found to be equal to 0.5×10?11.  相似文献
