In this study, electrochemical behaviors of Co(II) and Pd(II) phthalocyanines carrying tetrakisdiethoxymalonyl and Pd(II) phthalocyanine carrying tetrakiscarboxymethyl substituents at the peripheral positions are investigated by cyclic voltammetry and applied potential chronocoulometry techniques. Cyclic voltammetric studies show that, while Pd(II) phthalocyanines carrying diethoxymalonyl and carboxymethyl substituents give up to three common phthalocyanine ring reductions, Co(II) phthalocyanine carrying diethoxymalonyl substituents gives a metal-centered oxidation and a metal-centered reduction and three ligand-centered reduction and a ligand-centered oxidation processes. First reduction processes of both the PdPc complexes have shoulders. This different voltammetric behaviors of Pd(II) phthalocyanines carrying carboxymethyl and diethoxymalonyl substituents results from interaction of this distinctive substituents with the phthalocyanine ring π electron system and interaction with the different solvent systems. Observation of the splitting of the first reduction process of Pd(II) phthalocyanines carrying diethoxymalonyl and carboxymethyl substituents suggests the aggregation of the complex. Very small diffusion coefficient of the complexes with respect to Co(II) phthalocyanine also confirms the existence of the aggregation of the complex during the electrochemical studies. Effects of the substituents and the solvent media are clearly observed from the differences of the voltammograms of Pd(II) phthalocyanines carrying diethoxymalonyl and carboxymethyl substituents in DMSO and THF solvent media, respectively. 4‐[(1‐Benzylpiperidin‐4‐yl)oxy]‐substituted cobalt(II) and iron(II) phthalocyanine complexes were synthesized and their catalytic activity towards various phenolic compounds was investigated. Converting from environmentally harmful phenolic compounds into less harmful oxidation products using phthalocyanines makes this study attractive. This catalysis is feasible and time‐saving in terms of procedure and the best oxidation conditions determined. Electrochemical studies were also carried out using cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry techniques. Voltammetric analyses of the synthesized phthalocyanine complexes supported their proposed structures. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Phthalocyanines with four biphenyl-malonic ester groups on the periphery were synthesized by cyclotetramerization of 4-(1,1-dicarbethoxy-2-(4-biphenyl)-ethyl)-phthalonitrile. The new compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV–Vis, and MASS spectral data. Electrochemical behaviors of novel Co(II), Cu(II), and Pd(II) phthalocyanines were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, potential differential pulse voltammetry, and applied potential chronocoulometry techniques. While Cu(II) and Pd(II) phthalocyanines give up to four common phthalocyanine ring reductions, Co(II) phthalocyanine gave two ligand-centered and two metal-centered redox processes. HOMO–LUMO gap of the complexes are comparable with the reported MPc papers.  相似文献

Metal free (6), cobalt(II) (7), copper(II) (8) and manganese(III) (9) phthalocyanines, which are tetra substituted at the peripheral positions with 2-[2-(1,1′:3′,1′′-terphenyl-2′-yloxy)ethoxy]ethoxy groups, were synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR, UV–Vis and mass spectroscopy. Electrochemistry of the phthalocyanines were studied with voltammetric measurements by using cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry techniques in DCM/TBAP electrolyte on a Pt working electrode. Electrochemical measurements exhibit that incorporation of redox active metal ions, CoII and MnIII, into the phthalocyanine core extends the redox capabilities of the Pc ring including the metal-based reduction couples of the metal. While MnIIIClPc showed only metal based reduction reactions, CoIIPc showed metal based and ligand based reduction reactions as expected. Cyclic and square wave voltammetric studies showed that phthalocyanines have reversible/quasireversible/irreversible redox processes, which are the main requirement for the technological usage of these compounds.  相似文献

This work reports on the synthesis of new unsymmetrically substituted phthalocyanines (M = Zn, Cu, Co, Ni) bearing three benzo-15-crown-5 units through oxy bridges and a nitro group. Phthalocyanines were prepared by a statistical condensation of 4-nitro phthalonitrile and 1-{[(benzo-15-crown-5)-4′-yl]oxy}phthalonitrile in the presence of anhydrous metal salts. All the target unsymmetrical phthalocyanines were separated by column chromatography and characterized elemental analyses, 1H NMR, IR, mass and UV–Vis spectral data. Electrochemical behaviors of Cu (II) phthalocyanine by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry techniques gave two common phthalocyanine ring reductions and one ring oxidation processes. Peak-to-peak separation of the processes II and III (388 mV) and the measure of gap (1.672 V) between the HOMO and LUMO for the complex, fits a phthalocyanine with electrochemically inactive metal center.  相似文献

Research on substituted phenol degradations has received substantial attention. In this work, effective Co(II) and Cu(II) phthalocyanine complexes as catalysts were studied to degrade toxic phenols to harmless products. The effect of various process parameters, such as initial concentration of phenol, catalyst, oxygen sources, and temperature on the degradation reaction was investigated to achieve maximum degradation efficiency. The catalytic activities of Co(II) and Cu(II) phthalocyanines were evaluated for oxidation of phenolic compounds such as p-nitrophenol, o-chlorophenol, 2,3-dichlorophenol, and m-methoxyphenol. Co(II) phthalocyanine displayed good catalytic performance in degradation of 2,3-dichlorophenol to 2,3-dichlorobenzaldehyde and 2,3-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone with the highest TON and TOF values within 3?h at 50?°C. The fate of catalyst during the degradation process was followed by UV–Vis spectroscopy.  相似文献

In this study, new chalcone compound 1 , new phthalonitrile derivatives 2 and 3, new copper(II), manganese(III) phthalocyanines bearing chalcone groups at peripheral or nonperipheral positions were synthesized. Electrochemistry of tetra-(4-{(2 E )-3-[2-fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]prop-2-enoyl}phenoxy) substituted Co(II)Pc and Mn(III)Pcs were studied with cyclic voltammetry (CV) to determine the redox properties of the phthalocyanines. According to the results, while the CuPcs 2a and 3a showed two Pc based reduction reactions and one Pc based oxidation reaction, MnPcs 2b and 3b gave two metal-based reduction reactions. All the redox processes are shifted toward positive potentials as a result of the increased electron-withdrawing ability of the trifluoromethyl substituents.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization and voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical properties of newly synthesized metal-free and metallo phthalocyanines (M = Co, Cu, Zn) containing four dialkylaminophenoxy or trialkylammoniumphenoxy substituents on peripheral positions have been presented in this work. The new compounds have been characterized by using elemental analysis, UV–Vis, FT-IR, 1H NMR and MS spectroscopic data. Phthalocyanines with trialkylammoniumphenoxy substituents are soluble in aqueous solution over a wide pH range, and these compounds are present as aggregated species in solution as confirmed by the blue shift of Q-bands in their electronic spectra. The electrochemical behavior of the phthalocyanines was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry on a platinum-working electrode in DCM and DMSO. The voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical measurements of the complexes show that while cobalt phthalocyanine gives both ligand- and metal-based redox processes, metal-free, zinc and copper phthalocyanine complexes give only ligand-based processes in harmony with common phthalocyanine complexes.  相似文献

Electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical analyses of 4‐(4‐(5‐phenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole‐2‐yl)phenoxy)‐substituted metal‐free phthalocyanine ( H2Pc ( 1 )) and metallated phthalocyanines ( PbPc ( 2 ) and CoPc ( 3 )) were performed in solution. Voltammetric characterizations of the phthalocyanine complexes were investigated by using cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry techniques. CoPc ( 3 ) gave common metal and ring based electron transfer reactions; however they split due to the aggregation. Although PbPc ( 2 ) illustrated reversible reduction processes during the voltammetric measurements, it was de‐metallized and thus turned to the metal free phthalocyanine during repetitive voltammetric cycles and in situ spectroelectrochemical measurements.  相似文献

A series of 2-aminosubstituted (5Z)-3-phenyl-5-(pyridine-2-ylmethylene)-3,5-dihydro-4H-imidazole-4-ones (L) was prepared by the reaction of the corresponding 2-alkylthio-3,5-dihydro-4H-imidazole-4-ones with morpholine or piperidine in the presence of ytterbium(III) triflate. The resulting ligands were subsequently reacted with CuCl2·2H2O and CoCl2·6H2O to give the corresponding copper(II) and cobalt(II) complexes, respectively. Analysis revealed that the complexes were formed with an LMCl2 (M = Cu, Co)-type composition in all cases. The structures of the three cobalt complexes prepared in this way were determined by X-ray crystallography. The results revealed that the cobalt ions in these complexes were tetrahedrally coordinated to two chloride anions and two nitrogen atoms from the pyridine and imidazole moieties of the ligand. The electrochemical properties of the ligands and their complexes were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry, and the results revealed that the first stage in the reduction of the Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes involved the reversible formation of the corresponding Co(I) and Cu(I) complexes, respectively. The cytotoxicity activities of the organic ligands and their complexes were evaluated against several cancer cell lines, including MCF-7, A549 and HEK293 cells. The copper complexes of the organic ligands bearing a phenyl or allyl moiety at their N(3) position together with a piperidine substituent at the 2-position of their imidazolone ring exhibited the greatest cytotoxicity of all of the compounds tested in the current study.  相似文献

The synthesis of a cobalt phthalocyanine-cobalt porphyrin heteropentamer (cobalt(II) phthalocyanine-tetrakis(cobalt(II) tetrakis(5-phenoxy-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin))), (CoPc-(CoTPP)4), containing four units of cobalt tetraphenylporphyrin linked to a central cobalt phthalocyanine macrocycle via ether linkages is reported. Cyclic voltammetry and spectroelectrochemistry were employed to characterize the complexes. Cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry revealed nine processes. Spectroelectrochemistry of the pentamer confirmed that reduction occurs on the individual components in an alternating manner; the first reduction occurring on the CoTPP moieties, the second on the CoPc moiety, the third on the CoTPP moieties and so on. Oxidation occurred first on the CoPc moiety of the pentamer.  相似文献

A theoretical model is proposed to explain the trend in reactivity of cobalt(II) phthalocyanine (CoPc) and substituted cobalt(II) phthalocyanines for the oxidation of hydrazine. Our study suggests that the reaction occurs via a through bond charge transfer pathway and not via a through space charge transfer pathway as was shown in previous work for the oxidation of 2-mercaptoethanol by CoPc (G.I. Cárdenas-Jirón and D.A. Venegas-Yazigi, J. Phys. Chem. A. 106, 11398 (2002)). We propose a mechanism for the oxidation of hydrazine based on a four-step energy profile which agrees with a mechanism proposed for the electro-oxidation of hydrazine mediated by cobalt phthalocyanines confined on a graphite electrode. We show that the step in the energy profile that involves formation of a radical of hydrazine seems to be a good starting point for the study of the transfer of the first electron in the oxidation of hydrazine mediated by different substituted cobalt(II) phthalocyanines.  相似文献

The phthalonitrile derivative chosen for the synthesis of substituted phthalocyanines [M: 2H, Zn(II), Co(II)] with four chloro and four phenyloxyacetic acid substituents on the periphery is 4-chloro-5-(4-phenyloxyacetic acid)phthalonitrile. The sodium salt of carboxyl substituted zinc phthalocyanine is good soluble in water. Further reactions of zinc and cobalt phthalocyanines bearing phenyloxyacetic acid with thionylchloride gave the corresponding acylchlorides. This functional group reacted with hydroxymethylferrocene in dry DMF to obtain ferrocenyl substituted phthalocyanines. Also chloro substituent in new phthalonitrile was substituted with hexylsulfanyl substituent and its cyclotetramerization in the presence of Zn(AcO)2·2H2O and 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol resulted with zinc phthalocyanine. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, MALDI-TOF mass, FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV-Vis and fluorescence data. Aggregations properties of phthalocyanines were investigated at different concentrations in tetrahydrofuran, dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, water, and water/ethanol mixture. Also fluorescence spectral properties are reported.  相似文献

The interaction of chitosan with copper(II) and cobalt(II) tetrasulfophthalocyanines is studied by spectral methods. The main parameters of binding of chitosan to anionic metal phthalocyanines are determined by Scatchard analysis. It is found that the formation of the polymer complex is considerably contributed by donor?acceptor interactions between the coordinately unsaturated metal phthalocyanine and chitosan amino groups. Сhitosan reacts with a monomeric cobalt(II) tetrasulfophthalocyanine, whereas copper(II) tetrasulfophthalocyanine in its complex with chitosan remains in the dimeric state. The reaction centers responsible for the Cu(SO3H)4Pc)2–chitosan and Co(SO3H)4Pc–chitosan complexes are revealed by means of IR spectroscopy.  相似文献

This work reports on the development of sensors for the detection of hydrazine using glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) modified with phthalocyanines through click chemistry. Tetrakis(5‐hexyn‐oxy) cobalt(II) phthalocyanine (complex 2 ) and tetrakis(5‐hexyn‐oxy) nickel(II) phthalocyanine (complex 3 ) were employed as electrode modifiers for hydrazine detection. The GCE was first grafted via the in situ diazotization of a diazonium salt, rendering the GCE surface layered with azide groups. From this point, the 1, 3‐dipolar cycloaddition reaction, catalysed by a copper catalyst was utilised to “click” the phthalocyanines to the surface of the grafted GCE. The modified electrodes were characterized by scanning electrochemical microscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The electrografted CoP 2 ‐clicked‐GCE and NiP 3 ‐clicked‐GCE exhibited electrocatalytic activity towards the detection of hydrazine. The limit of detection (LoD) for the CoPc‐GCE was 6.09 μM, while the NiPc‐GCE had a LoD of 8.69 μM. The sensitivity was 51.32 μA mM−1 for the CoPc‐GCE and 111.2 μA mM−1 for the NiPc‐GCE.  相似文献

A series of functional metallophthalocyanines have been synthesized to study their role as a catalyst towards the reductive dechlorination of atrazine using sodium borohydride as a mild reducing agent. The cobalt(II) phthalocyanine bearing nitro groups at the peripheral position is the most efficient catalyst with exceptionally high catalytic activity in comparison to other functional cobalt(II) phthalocyanines.  相似文献

The interaction between Co(II) and Cu(II) ions with a Py(2)N(4)S(2)-coordinating octadentate macrocyclic ligand (L) to afford dinuclear compounds has been investigated. The complexes were characterized by microanalysis, conductivity measurements, IR spectroscopy and liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry. The crystal structure of the compounds [H(4)L](NO(3))(4), [Cu(2)LCl(2)](NO(3))(2) (5), [Cu(2)L(NO(3))(2)](NO(3))(2) (6), and [Cu(2)L(μ-OH)](ClO(4))(3)·H(2)O (7) was also determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The [H(4)L](4+) cation crystal structure presents two different conformations, planar and step, with intermolecular face-to-face π,π-stacking interactions between the pyridinic rings. Complexes 5 and 6 show the metal ions in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. In the case of complex 7, the crystal structure presents the two metal ions joined by a μ-hydroxo bridge and the Cu(II) centers in a slightly distorted square plane or a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry, taking into account weak interactions in axial positions. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy is in accordance with the dinuclear nature of the complexes, with an octahedral environment for the cobalt(II) compounds and square-pyramidal or tetragonally elongated octahedral geometries for the copper(II) compounds. The magnetic behavior is consistent with the existence of antiferromagnetic interactions between the ions for cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes, while for the Co(II) ones, this behavior could also be explained by spin-orbit coupling.  相似文献
