The adsorption of uranium (VI) using tetraphenylimidodiphosphinate (Htpip) was studied. Factors of affecting sorption efficiency have been investigated and results showed the adsorption of uranium (VI) was equilibrium at pH 4.5, time 20 min, adsorbent dosage 0.005 g and initial concentration 50 mg L?1 reaching 99.86 mg g?1 of adsorption capacity and 99.86% of removal efficiency. Additionally, the interfering ions studies showed that the adsorbent possessed excellent adsorption selectivity of uranium (VI). The surface morphology of Htpip was investigated by SEM. The adsorption process of uranium (VI) onto Htpip fit the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm model very well.  相似文献

Zirconyl-molybdopyrophosphate-tributyl phosphate (ZMPP-TBP) was a novel organic-inorganic composite adsorbent prepared by co-precipitation method and used in the adsorption of uranium from aqueous solution in batch adsorption experiments. The as-obtained product was characterized using SEM, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), XRD and BET-N2 adsorption measurements. The study had been conducted to investigate the effects of solution pH, temperature, contact time, initial concentration and coexisting ions. A maximum removal of 99.31% was observed for an initial concentration 5 mg/L, at pH 6.0 and an adsorbent dose of 1.0 g/L. The isothermal data were fitted with both Langmuir and Freundlich equations, but the data fitted the former better than the latter. According to the evaluation using the Langmuir equation, the maximum adsorption capacity of uranium (VI) was 196.08 mg/g at 293 K and pH 6.0. The pseudo-first-order kinetic model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model were used to describe the kinetic data, and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model was better. The thermodynamic parameter ΔG was calculated, the negative ΔG values of uranium (VI) at different temperature showed that the adsorption process was spontaneous. The good reusability of ZMPP-TBP also indicated that the ZMPP-TBP was a very promising adsorbent for uranium adsorption from aqueous solution.  相似文献

The removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solution by human hair waste is investigated by using UV–Vis spectrophotometer technique. The morphological analysis of the human hair was also investigated by the scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The influence of various physicochemical effective parameters such as pH, ionic strength, adsorbent amount, contact time, initial concentration of metal ion on removal of Cr(VI) ions by human hair process was also studied. The optimum conditions for this adsorption process were obtained at pH = 2 and contact time of 150 min while the highest Cr(VI) uptake is recorded for 0.5 g of the adsorbent per 100 ml of solution. Three isotherms models including Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin were applied to describe the equilibrium data. It was found that the experimental data were well described by Freundlich isothermal model. The maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 11.64 mg g?1.The thermodynamic study data showed that the adsorption process of Cr(VI) on human hair is an endothermic, spontaneous and physisorption reaction. The kinetics of the adsorption process was studied using three kinetics models including Lagergren-first-order, pseudo-second-order and Elovich model. The obtained data are indicated that the adsorption processes of Cr(VI) over human hair could be described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.  相似文献

The adsorption of Cr(VI) and Ni(II) using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid‐modified diatomite waste (EDTA‐DW) as an adsorbent in single and binary systems was investigated. The EDTA‐DW was characterized using various analytical techniques, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller measurements, X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy‐dispersive spectrometry. The adsorption experiment was conducted by varying pH, adsorbent dosage, initial concentration and temperature. In the single system, the sorption data for Cr(VI) fitted the Langmuir isotherm, but the Ni(II) adsorption data fitted well the Freundlich isotherm. The maximum sorption capacity of Cr(VI) and Ni(II) was 2.9 mg g?1 at pH = 3 and 3.64 mg g?1 at pH = 8, respectively. The kinetic data for both Cr(VI) and Ni(II) followed well the pseudo‐second‐order kinetic model in single and binary systems. Meanwhile, the extended Langmuir and extended Freundlich multicomponent isotherm models were found to fit the competitive adsorption data for Cr(VI) and Ni(II). In addition, in the binary system, the existence of Ni(II) hindered the adsorption of Cr(VI), but the presence of Cr(VI) enhanced the removal of Ni(II). This study provides some realistic and valid data about the usage of modified diatomite waste for the removal of metal ions.  相似文献

Amidoxime-based adsorbents are widely studied as the main adsorbent in the recovery of uranium from seawater. However, the adsorption rate and loading capacity of such adsorbents should be further improved due to the economic viability consideration. In this paper, polyvinyl alcohol functionalized with amidoxime(PVA-g-AO)has been prepared as a new adsorbent for uranium(Ⅵ)adsorption from aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of PVA-g-AO were investigated using infrared spectroscopy(IR),scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Results showed that the ligand monomers were successfully grafted onto the matrixes. The XRD and XPS analysis showed that uranium was adsorbed in metal ionic form rather than in crystal form.Uranyl(U(Ⅵ))adsorption properties onto PVA-g-AO were evaluated. The adsorption of U(Ⅵ)by PVA-g-AO was fast, with an equilibrium time of less than 50 min.Additionally the maximum adsorption capacity reached 42.84 mg/g at pH 4.0.  相似文献

A green and environment-friendly magnetically separable nanocomposite, glutathione@magnetite was fabricated sonochemically through the functionalization of Fe3O4 by glutathione which was well characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, ultravoilet-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, vibrating sample magnetometer, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and high-resolution transmission electron microscope. The parameters affecting adsorption including pH, temperature, contact time, initial adsorbate concentration, and adsorbent amount were optimized by batch experiments. The magnetic glutathione@magnetite was applied for the removal of uranium(VI) in water with maximum adsorption capacity found to be 333.33 mg/g in 120 min at a neutral pH at 25 °C showing high efficiency for U(VI) ions. Furthermore, adsorption results obtained from UV-vis spectroscopy were validated by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy. The thermodynamic parameters, viz Gibbs free energy (ΔGº), standard enthalpy change (ΔHº), and standard entropy change (ΔSº) of the process were calculated using the Langmuir constants. The pseudo-second-order kinetics model is seen to be applicable for describing the uptake process using a kinetics test. Moreover, desorption studies reveals that glutathione@magnetite can be used repeatedly, and removal efficiency shows only a small decrease after six cycles. Thus, glutathione@magnetite acts as a potential adsorbent for the removal of U(VI) from the water with great adsorption performance.  相似文献

Experiments on the removal and recovery of U(VI) from aqueous solution by tea waste were conducted. The adsorbent was characterized by scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrometer before and after the adsorption treatment. The removal of U(VI) amounts to 86.80?% at optimum pH 6. The adsorption process reaches its equilibrium in 12?h at 308?K, and the kinetic characteristic can be described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation. The amount of adsorption increases from 22.92 to 142.21?mg?g?1 with the decrease of tea waste dosage from 100 to 10?mg for solution with an initial uranium concentration of 50?mg?L?1. Desorption for the four strippants is higher than 80?%. The equilibrium data are more agreeable with Freundlich isotherm than Langmuir isotherm.  相似文献

The present work deals with uranium removal from a nitric acid raffinate (waste) solution using prepared solvent (tri-butyl phosphate, TBP) immobilizing PVC cement (SIC) as a suitable adsorbent. The studied relevant factors affecting uranium adsorption onto SIC adsorbent involved; contact time, solution molarity, initial uranium concentration and temperature. The obtained adsorption isotherm of uranium onto the SIC adsorbent was fitted to Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin–Radushkviech (D–R) adsorption models. The results showed that the obtained equilibrium data fitted well the Langmuir isotherm. Additionally, it was found that the adsorption process obeys the pseudo second-order kinetic model. On the other hand, the calculated theoretical capacity of our prepared SIC adsorbent reached about 17 g U/kg SIC. Uranium adsorption from the studied raffinate solution was carried out applying the attained optimum conditions. The obtained data showed that 58.4 mg U/5 g SIC were adsorbed. However, using of 2 M HNO3 solution as an eluent, 93 (54.3 mg U) from the adsorbed amount were eluted.  相似文献

In order to separate and pre-concentrate uranium from aqueous phase, a novel silica-based adsorbent was prepared by impregnating nalidixic acid (HNA) into a macroreticular silica/polymer composite support (SiO2-P) with a mean diameter of 60 μm. Adsorption behavior of uranium from aqueous solution onto the adsorbent was studied. Experimental results indicated that HNA/SiO2-P showed strong adsorption for uranium in a wide range of pH from 3.5 to 10.0, and the maximum adsorption capacity was 35.4 mg g−1. In addition, HNA/SiO2-P exhibited good selectivity for U(VI) and showed weak or bare adsorption affinity to foreign ions. Kinetic and isotherm of uranium adsorption were in accordance with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm adsorption model, respectively. Moreover, U(VI) sorption was found to be an endothermic reaction and spontaneous under experimental state. The synthesized adsorbent showed an admirable stability at lower pH values in aqueous solution.

The biomass pummelo peel was chosen as a biosorbent for removal of uranium(VI) from aqueous solution. The feasibility of adsorption of U(VI) by Pummelo peel was studied with batch adsorption experiments. The effects of contact time, biosorbent dosage and pH on adsorption capacity were investigated in detail. The pummelo peel exhibited the highest U(VI) sorption capacity 270.71?mg/g at an initial pH of 5.5, concentration of 50???g/mL, temperature 303?K and contacting time 7?h. The adsorption process of U(VI) was found to follow the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation. The adsorption isotherm study indicated that it followed both the Langmuir adsorption isotherm and the Freundlich adsorption isotherm. The thermodynamic parameters values calculated clearly indicated that the adsorption process was feasible, spontaneous and endothermic in nature. These properties show that the pummelo peel has potential application in the removal of the uranium(VI) from the radioactive waste water.  相似文献

The adsorption characteristics of phosphorylated Aspergillus niger (AN-P) for uranium(VI) were studied in this work. The AN-P was successfully prepared by the reaction of Aspergillus niger with phosphorus pentoxide in ice-bath under the catalysis of methanesulphonic acid. AN-P was characterized by FT-IR and SEM–EDS. The effects of pH, contact time, initial U(VI) ions concentration, adsorbent dosage and temperature on the adsorption of U(VI) by AN-P were investigated. The isotherm and kinetic data were accurately described by the Langmuir and pseudo-second-order models, respectively. The calculated thermodynamic parameters indicated that the adsorption of U(VI) by AN-P was an spontaneous and endothermic process. This indicated that the AN-P composite is a promising adsorbent for efficient removal of U(VI) from radioactive wastewater.

In this work, uranium adsorption from aqueous (waste) solution onto thermal and chemical modified bentonite (TCMB) has been studied. The relevant factors affecting uranium adsorption onto our TCMB adsorbent were studied. These factors involved contact time, initial uranium concentrations, pH, adsorption temperature, foreign ion and the effect adsorbent (TCMB) amount using synthetic solution. The theoretical capacity of TCMB adsorbent is about 29 mg/g TCMB. The optimum adsorption conditions were choiced. Uranium elution from the loaded TCMB adsorbent has been carried out using CH3COONa as an effective eluent. Uranium adsorption from Gattar liquid waste by TCMB adsorbent was carried out in columns. The low uranium adsorption efficiency (37.5 % of the theoretical capacity of TCMB) may be due to the adsorption competition between uranium and difference foreign ion present in the solution (as iron). More than 92 % of the loaded uranium amount on the TCMB adsorbent has been eluted using CH3COONa as an efficient eluent.  相似文献

The uranium(VI) accumulation was studied in detail by using the biomass of mangrove endophytic fungus Fusarium sp.#ZZF51 from the South China Sea. The uranium(VI) biosorption process onto the tested fungus powders was optimized at pH 4.0, adsorption time 60 min, and uranium(VI) initial concentration 50 mg L−1 with 61.89% of removal efficiency. According to Fourier transform infrared spectra for the tested fungus before and after loaded with uranium(VI), the results showed that both of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups acted as the important roles in the adsorption process. In addition, the experimental data were analyzed by using parameter and kinetic models, and it was obtained that the Langmuir isotherm model and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model provided better correlation with the experimental data for adsorption of uranium(VI).  相似文献

This study described adsorption of uranium(VI) by citric acid modified pine sawdust (CAMPS) in batch and fixed-bed column modes at 295 K. The equilibrium adsorption data were analyzed by Langmuir, Freundlich, Koble–Corrigan and Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm models. The results indicated that the Langmuir and Koble–Corrigan models provided the best correlation of the experimental data. The Elovish model was better to fit the kinetic process, which suggested that ion exchange was one of main mechanism. The effective diffusion parameter D i values indicated that the intraparticle diffusion was not the rate-controlling step. In fixed-bed column adsorption, the effects of bed height, feed flow rate, and inlet uranium (VI) concentration were studied by assessing breakthrough curve. The Thomas, the Yan and the bed-depth/service time (BDST) models were applied to the column experimental data to determine the characteristic parameters of the column adsorption. The results were implied that CAMPS may be suitable as an adsorbent material for adsorption of uranium (VI) from an aqueous solution.  相似文献

In this paper, the modified magnetic chitosan resin containing diethylenetriamine functional groups (DETA-MCS) was used for the adsorption of uranium ions from aqueous solutions. The influence of experimental conditions such as contact time, pH value and initial uranium(VI) concentration was studied. The Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips and Dubinin–Radushkevich equations were used to check the fitting of adsorption data to the equilibrium isotherm. The best fit for U(VI) was obtained with the Sips model. Adsorption kinetics data were tested using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. Kinetic studies showed that the adsorption followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, indicating that the chemical adsorption was the rate-limiting step. The present results suggest that DETA-MCS is an adsorbent for the efficient removal of uranium(VI) from aqueous solution.  相似文献

In this research work, the separation of Uranium from phosphate medium via adsorption prior to its fluorometric determination was carried out onto a newly synthesised adsorbent made via impregnation of urea onto cellulose (UIC). The full characterisation of the synthetic extractant (UIC) was carried out by various instrumental techniques such as elemental analysis, FTIR, TGA, XRD and SEM analysis. Various factors that may affect the quality of adsorbing U (VI) ions using synthesised Urea-impregnated cellulose had been investigated. The maximum adsorption capacity (82 mg/g) for U (VI) has been verified by the Langmuir isotherm model. The thermodynamics and kinetics of the adsorption process indicated that the uranium sorption onto synthesised Urea-impregnated cellulose was an exothermic and pseudo-second-order process. The tolerance limits for the common cations which are actually found with uranium in the phosphate solutions and may show sorption behaviour on the synthesised UIC resin were calculated and gave a high tolerance limit. Contrary to previously reported studies, several ameliorations have resulted including an elevated selectivity and adsorption capacity of uranium from phosphate medium. The optimised method was applied with good accuracy results for determination of uranium in reference and different phosphate rock types bearing uranium.  相似文献

It is challenging work to develop a low-cost, efficient, and environmentally friendly Cr(VI) adsorbent for waste water treatment. In this paper, we used hemicelluloses from chemical fiber factory waste as the raw material, and prepared two kinds of carbon materials by the green hydrothermal method as adsorbent for Cr(VI). The results showed that hemicelluloses hydrothermally treated with citric acid (HTC) presented spherical shapes, and hemicelluloses hydrothermally treated with ammonia solution (HTC-NH2) provided spongy structures. The adsorption capacity of the samples can be obtained by the Langmuir model, and the adsorption kinetics could be described by the pseudo-second-order model at pH 1.0. The maximum adsorption capacity of HTC-NH2 in the Langmuir model is 74.60 mg/g, much higher than that of HTC (61.25 mg/g). The green hydrothermal treatment of biomass with ammonia solution will provide a simple and feasible way to prepare adsorbent for Cr(VI) in waste water treatment.  相似文献

A new phosphorus-modified poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) chelating resin (PS–N–P) was synthesized by P,P-dichlorophenylphosphine oxide modified commercially available ammoniated polystyrene beads, and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The adsorption properties of PS–N–P toward U(VI) from aqueous solution were evaluated using batch adsorption method. The effects of the contact time, temperature, pH and initial uranium concentration on uranium(VI) uptake were investigated. The results show that the maximum adsorption capacity (97.60 mg/g) and the maximum adsorption rate (99.72 %) were observed at the pH 5.0 and 318 K with initial U(VI) concentration 100 mg/L and adsorbent dose 1 g/L. Adsorption equilibrium was achieved in approximately 4 h. Adsorption kinetics studied by pseudo second-order model stated that the adsorption was the rate-limiting step (chemisorption). U(VI) adsorption was found to barely decrease with the increase in ionic strength. Equilibrium data were best modeled by the Langmuir isotherm. The thermodynamic parameters such as ?G 0, ?H 0 and ?S 0 were derived to predict the nature of adsorption. Adsorbed U(VI) ions on PS–N–P resin were desorbed effectively (about 99.39 %) by 5 % NaOH–10 % NaCl. The synthesized resin was suitable for repeated use.  相似文献
