The comparative studies of physicochemical properties of Cu-support catalysts (support = ZnO, Al2O3, Cr2O3, ZnAl2O4, FeAlO3, or CrAl3O6) and their catalytic activity in methanol synthesis and water gas shift reaction were the main goal of this work. The promotion effect of copper addition in both reaction was proved. The formation of spinel type structure CuCr2O4, ZnAl2O4 and binary oxide CrAl3O6, FeAlO3 during calcination process was confirmed by XRD technique. Results showed that 20% Cu/FeAlO3 had the best performance in water gas shift reaction. The best selective and active catalyst in methanol synthesis was 20% Cu/ZnAl2O4.  相似文献

Catalytic performance of gallia-supported iridium catalysts in the reaction of selective hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde in the gas phase was studied and compared to that of platinum and ruthenium catalysts. The best catalytic properties in terms of the selectivity to crotyl alcohol are shown by 5 wt % Pt/α-Ga2O3 and 5 wt % Ir/α-Ga2O3 catalysts prepared from nonchlorine precursors: Pt(acac)2 and Ir(acac)3, but for the 5 wt % Pt/α-Ga2O3 a very high selectivity of 75% at the high conversion (ca. 60%) is observed. A high selectivity of galia-supported iridium and platinum catalysts was explained by the surface reducibility of gallium oxide leading to covering (decoration) of platinum and iridium by gallium suboxides and the promoting effect of gallium.  相似文献

Liquid-phase reduction NO 3 using monometallic and bimetallic catalysts (5% Rh/Al2O3, 5% Rh-0.5% Cu/Al2O3, 5% Rh-1.5% Cu/Al2O3, 5% Rh-5% Cu/Al2O3 and a physical mixture of 5% Rh/Al2O3 and 1.5% Cu/Al2O3) was studied in a slurry reactor operating at atmospheric pressure. Kinetic measurements were performed for a low concentration of nitrate (0.4 × 10−3−3.2 × 10−3 mol dm−3) and the temperature range 293–313 K. From the experimental data, it was found that the reduction of nitrate is first order with respect to nitrate. On the basis of the rate constants, the apparent activation energy was established using a graphic method. Published in Russian in Kinetika i Kataliz, 2007, Vol. 48, No. 6, pp. 881–886. Higher alcohol has been considered as a potential fuel additive. Higher alcohol, including C2–C4 alcohol was synthesized by catalytic conversion of syngas (with a ratio of CO/H2?=?1) derived from natural gas over modified Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst. Modified Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts promoted by alkali metal (Li) for higher alcohol synthesis (HAS) were prepared at different pH (6, 6.5, 7, 8, and 9) by co-precipitation to control Cu surface area and characterized by N2 physisorption, XRD, SEM, H2-TPR and TPD. The HAS reaction was carried out under a pressure of 45 bar, GHSV of 4000 h?1, ratio of H2/CO?=?1, and temperature ranges of 240 and 280 °C. It was found that the malachite phase of copper causes the size of copper to be small, which is suitable for methanol synthesis. Methanol and HAS share a common catalytic active site and intermediate. It was also found that the productivity to higher alcohol was correlated with Cu surface area.  相似文献

Gold catalysts with loadings ranging from 0.5 to 7.0 wt% on a ZnO/Al2O3 support were prepared by the deposition–precipitation method (Au/ZnO/Al2O3) with ammonium bicarbonate as the precipitation agent and were evaluated for performance in CO oxidation. These catalysts were characterized by inductively coupled plasma-atom emission spectrometry, temperature programmed reduction, and scanning transmission electron microscopy. The catalytic activity for CO oxidation was measured using a flow reactor under atmospheric pressure. Catalytic activity was found to be strongly dependent on the reduction property of oxygen adsorbed on the gold surface, which related to gold particle size. Higher catalytic activity was found when the gold particles had an average diameter of 3–5 nm; in this range, gold catalysts were more active than the Pt/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst in CO oxidation. Au/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst with small amount of ZnO is more active than Au/Al2O3 catalyst due to higher dispersion of gold particles.  相似文献

The effects of Ru on the self-reducibility of Ru-doped Ni/MgAl2O4 catalysts, which do not need pre-reduction treatment with H2, were investigated in the steam reforming of methane (SRM). The Ru-promoted Ni/MgAl2O4 catalysts with various amounts of Ru (0–0.5 wt%) were prepared by stepwise impregnation and co-impregnation methods using hydrotalcite-like MgAl2O4 support. For comparison, Ru/MgAl2O4 catalysts with the same amount of Ru were also prepared by the impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by the N2-sorption, XRD, H2-TPR, H2-chemisorption, and XPS methods. Ni/MgAl2O4 catalyst in the presence of even the trace amount of Ru (Ru content ≥0.05 wt%) showed higher conversion without pre-reduction as compared to Ru/MgAl2O4 catalysts in SRM under the same conditions. The self-activation of Ru–Ni/MgAl2O4 catalysts is mainly attributed to the spillover of hydrogen, which is produced on Ru at first and then reduces NiO species under reaction conditions. Besides, Ru doping makes the reduction of NiO easier. The stepwise impregnated Ru/Ni/MgAl2O4 catalyst produced superior performance as compared to co-impregnated Ru–Ni/MgAl2O4 catalyst for SRM.  相似文献

Biodiesel containing almost no glycerol has been produced by coupling reaction carried out over K2CO3 supported by calcium oxide as solid base catalysts. The solid base catalysts synthesized by wet impregnation exhibit an exceedingly high activity in biodiesel production. It was found that the reaction time required for the highest yield of biodiesel, 99.2%, can be shortened to 30 min over K2CO3/Al2O3 under the optimum reaction conditions: 8: 1: 1 molar ratio of methanol/DMC/oil, 30 wt % K2CO3/Al2O3 catalyst, and 65°C reaction temperature. Solid basic catalysts examined in the study were characterized by BET surface area, XRD, CO2-TPD, and SEM techniques. The strong interaction between K2CO3 and the support yields a new basic active site, which can be probably responsible for the high activity of K2CO3/Al2O3.  相似文献

One-pot synthesis of R-1-phenyethylacetate at 70°C was investigated using three different catalysts simultaneously, namely a bimetallic PdZn/Al2O3 as a hydrogenation catalyst, an immobilized lipase as an acylation catalyst and Ru/Al2O3 as a racemization catalyst. The most active bimetallic catalyst was PdZn/Al2O3 calcined at 300°C and reduced at 400°C, whereas the most selective although less active catalyst was the one being calcined and reduced at 500°C. The highest selectivity to R-1-phenylethyl acetate over this catalyst was 32 at 48% conversion. Ru/Al2O3 was confirmed to have a positive effect on the formation of the desired product, although it was not very active in the racemization during one-pot synthesis.  相似文献

Copper or iron supported on commercially available oxides, such as γ-Al2O3, TiO2 (anatase) and monoclinic tetragonal ZrO2 (mt-ZrO2) were tested as catalysts for selective catalytic oxidation of ammonia into nitrogen and water vapour (NH3-SCO) in the low temperature range. Different commercial oxides were used in this study to determine the influence of the specific surface area, acidic nature of the support and crystalline phases as well as of the type of species and aggregation state of transition metals on the catalytic performance in selective ammonia oxidation. Copper modified oxide supports were found to be more active and selective to nitrogen than catalysts impregnated with iron. Activities of both transition metal modified samples decreased in the following order: mt-ZrO2, TiO2 (anatase), γ-Al2O3. Quantitative total ammonia conversion was achieved with the Cu/ZrO2 catalytic system at 400°C. Characterisation techniques, e.g. H2-temperature programmed reduction, UV-VIS-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, suggest that easily reducible copper oxide species are important in achieving high catalytic performances at low temperatures.  相似文献

The physicochemical properties of Co-supported catalysts were studied, and the particle size of Co in Co/MgO/Al2O3 and Co-0.2% Ru/MgO/Al2O3 catalysts for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) was estimated using a magnetic method. It was found that a considerable fraction of superparamagnetic Co particles, which increase selectivity for C5+ hydrocarbons and decrease the yield of methane in the FTS, was present in a ruthenium-containing catalyst along with single-domain ferromagnetic particles. In this case, the catalyst activity increased by a factor of 10.  相似文献

A study was carried out on the properties of Ni/Al2O3 and Cu-ZnO/Al2O3 composites supported on ceramic honeycomb monoliths made from synthetic cordierite in the carbon dioxide conversion of methane and the partial oxidation of methanol. The structured nickel-alumina catalysts are significantly more efficient than the conventional granulated catalysts. The improved working stability of these catalysts was achieved by adjusting the acid-base properties of the surface by introducing sodium and potassium oxides, which leads to inhibition of surface carbonization. The hydrogen yield was close to 90% in the partial oxidation of methanol with a stoichiometric reagent ratio in the presence of the Cu-ZnO/Al2O3/cordierite catalyst. A synergistic effect was found, reducing the selectivity of CO formation in the presence of the Cu-ZnO catalyst relative to samples derived from the individual components Cu and ZnO. __________ Translated from Teoreticheskaya i éksperimental’naya Khimiya, Vol. 43, No. 5, pp. 299–306, September–October, 2007.  相似文献

The influence of addition of silver and copper on the reduction behavior of binary oxide CrAl3O6 was investigated. The formation of copper chromite CuCr2O4 and silver chromate Ag2CrO4 during calcinations process was observed. The intermediate phase CrO was detected when copper and silver-copper systems were reduced at temperatures above 500°C. This intermediate is formed from Cr2O3, which is yielded by the initial reduction of Cr2O42− species.  相似文献

The Ru-Cs+/MgO and Ru-Cs+/γ-Al2O3 catalysts, which were prepared by an impregnation method using RuOHCl3 and Cs2CO3 as precursor compounds and reduced with H2 at 450°C, are characterized by X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (with X-ray microanalysis), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The Cs+/MgO(Al2O3) systems, Ru-Cs+ black, and model systems prepared by cesium sputtering onto polycrystalline ruthenium foil are studied as reference samples. It is found that, in the Ru-Cs+/MgO sample, cesium is present as a Cs2 + xO cesium suboxide, which weakly interacts with the support, localized on the surface of Ru particles or near them. In the case of Ru-Cs+/γ-Al2O3, cesium occurs as a species that is tightly bound to the support; this is likely surface cesium aluminate, which prevents promoter migration to Ru particles. The Ru-Cs+/MgO sample exhibits a considerable shift of the Ru3d line in the XPS spectra toward lower binding energies, as compared to the bulk metal. It is hypothesized that this shift is due to a decrease in the electron work function from the surface of ruthenium because of the polarizing effect of Cs+ ions in contact with Ru particles. Based on the experimental results, the great difference between the catalytic activities of the Ru-Cs+/MgO and Ru-Cs+/γ-Al2O3 systems in ammonia synthesis at 250–400°C and atmospheric pressure is explained.  相似文献

This paper is focused upon the influence of potassium on the reduction behavior and catalytic properties of Fe2O3, Ru/Fe2O3 and Ru/(K)Fe2O3 catalysts for the water gas shift (WGS) reaction. The effect of promotion by potassium is attributed to stabilization of a highly dispersed ruthenium phase on the iron oxide surface. The hydrogen reduction behavior of Fe2O3 catalysts is strongly influenced by time-pressure dependent processes and comprises two or three heavily overlapped TPR peaks which can be ascribed to the following stages of the iron(III) oxide reduction 3Fe2O3 2Fe3O4 6FeO 6Fe. The appearance of FeO as an intermediate phase was confirmed by XRD. The presence of ruthenium(IV) oxide substantially changes the kinetics of the reduction process. In the case of potassium-doped catalysts, the reduction of Fe2O3 is substantially different and is assigned to the reduction phase of KFeO2. Both ruthenium and potassium have a promoting effect on the catalytic activity for the WGS reaction. From Kinetika i Kataliz, Vol. 45, No. 6, 2004, pp. 930–941.Original English Text Copyright © 2004 by Jówiak, Maniecki, Basiska, Góralski, Fiedorow. This article was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

Transition metal catalysts have been considerably used for NH3 decomposition because of the potential application in COx-free H2 generation for fuel cells. However, most transition metal catalysts prepared via traditional synthetic approaches performed the inferior stability due to the agglomeration of active components. Here, we adopted an efficient method, aerosol-assisted self-assembly approach (AASA), to prepare the optimized cobalt-alumina (Co3O4-Al2O3) catalysts. The Co3O4-Al2O3 catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic performance in the NH3 decomposition reaction, which can reach 100% conversion at 600 °C and maintain stable for 72 h at a gaseous hourly space velocity (GHSV) of 18000 cm3 gcat?1 h?1. The catalysts were characterized by various techniques including transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), nitrogen sorption, temperature-programmed reduction by hydrogen (H2-TPR), ex-situ/in-situ Raman and ex-situ/in-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) to obtain the information about the structure and property of the catalysts. H2-TPR and in-situ XRD results show that there is strong interaction between the cobalt and alumina species, which influences the redox properties of the catalysts. It is found that even a low content of alumina (10 at%) is able to stabilize the catalysts due to the adequate dispersion and rational interaction between different components, which ensures the high activity and superior stability of the cobalt-alumina catalysts.  相似文献

Various amounts and different types of heteropolyacids promoted 5Ag15Cu/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by impregnation method and analyzed through many techniques. The synthesized catalysts were evaluated for hydrogenolysis of glycerol to propanediols. The results demonstrated that heteropolyacids loading facilitated the reduction, promoted the dispersion, enhanced the acidity, and increased Broensted acid sites of the AgCu catalysts, which benefited the generation of 1,3-propanediol. Compared with phosphotungstic acid and phosphomolybdic acid, silicotungstic acid promoted AgCu catalyst had a better performance for 1,3-propanediol due to the better Cu dispersion and higher Broensted acidity. In addition, when the reaction was performed at 220 °C under 3.5 MPa for 8 h, the chosen 5Ag15Cu-10HSiW/Al2O3 achieved a 69.6% glycerol conversion with 35.6% 1,2-propanediol selectivity and 21.5% 1,3-propanediol selectivity.  相似文献

This work is focused on the role of gold and Al3CrO6 support for physicochemical properties, and catalytic activity of supported nickel catalysts in partial oxidation of methane (POM). Catalysts, containing 5% Ni and 5% Ni-2% Au active phases dispersed on mono- (Al2O3, Cr2O3) and bi-oxide Al3CrO6 support, were investigated by TPR, BET and XRD methods, and the activity tests in POM reaction were carried out. Bimetallic Ni-Au catalysts dispersed on Al3CrO6 support remained highly stable and active. The amorphous binary oxide Al3CrO6 can stabilize considerable amount of Cr4+, Cr5+, and Cr6+ species in Ni-Au/Al3CrO6 catalyst network during its calcination in the air. Nickel supported on binary oxide Ni/Al3CrO6 can form Ni(III)CrO3 bi-oxide phase in reductive conditions. During TPR H2 reduction of Ni-Au/Al3CrO6 catalyst chromium(II) oxide Cr(II)O phase is observed. After POM reaction the existence of bimetallic Au-Ni alloy was experimentally confirmed on mono-oxide Al2O3 support surface, but its formation was not identified on bioxide Al3CrO6 support. The CuO-CeO2/Al2O3 catalysts for the selective oxidation of CO in hydrogen-containing mixtures were prepared by surface self-propagating thermal synthesis (SSTS) with the use of cerium nitrate Ce(NO3)3, the ammonia complex of copper acetate [Cu(NH3)4](CH3COO)2, and citric acid C6H8O7 as a fuel additive. The effect of the C6H8O7/Ce(NO3)3 molar ratio on the catalyst activity and selectivity for oxygen was studied. The catalyst samples were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, temperature-programmed reduction (TPR-H2), IR spectroscopy of adsorbed CO, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that an increase in the C6H8O7/Ce(NO3)3 ratio resulted in an increase in the degree of dispersion of the resulting CeO2 phase. The greatest amount of dispersed CuO particles, which are responsible for catalytic activity in the oxidation of CO, was formed at C6H8O7/Ce(NO3)3 = 1.  相似文献

Phase relations in the Y2O3-Ga2O3 system were studied by the anneal-and-quench technique in air within 1000–2300°C, and a phase diagram was plotted. Three compounds were found to form: Y3GaO6, Y4Ga2O9, and Y3Ga5O12; the temperature and concentration bounds of stability were determined for these compounds. Indexing results for Y3GaO6 are given.  相似文献
