It is well known that the sea return echo contains contributions from at least two scattering mechanisms. In addition to the resonant Bragg scattering, the specular point scattering plays an important role as the incidence angle becomes smaller (≤20o). Here, in combination with the Kirchhoff integral equation of scattering field and the stationary phase approximation, analytical expressions for Doppler shift and spectral bandwidth of specular point scattering, which are insensitive to the polarization state, are derived theoretically. For comparison, the simulated results related to the two-scale method (TSM) and the method of moment (MOM) are also presented. It is found that the Doppler shift and the spectral bandwidth given by TSM are insufficient at small incidence angles. However, a comparison between the analytical results and the numerical simulations by MOM in the backscatter configuration shows that our proposed formulas are valid for the specular point scattering case. In this work, the dependences of the predicted results on incidence angle, radar frequency, and wind speed are also discussed. The obtained conclusions seem promising for a better understanding of the Doppler spectra of the specular point scattering fields from time-varying sea surfaces.  相似文献

We introduce a novel two-dimensional (2D) homodyne and heterodyne technique for imaging objects through or embedded in a scattering medium. Our imaging approach is based on heterodyning of light with different Doppler broadenings that is scattered from objects of two different textures or from an opaque object and a textured scattering medium. We report on the initial demonstration of pulling signals out of noise for an object hidden behind a scattering medium. Enhancements of signal-to-noise ratio of the order of 50 have been achieved by use of a 2D holographic phase-sensitive detector. We also discuss the experimental feasibility of this approach for objects embedded in a scattering medium.  相似文献

The performance of traditional techniques of passive localization in ocean acoustics such as time-of-arrival (phase differences) and amplitude ratios measured by multiple receivers may be degraded when the receivers are placed on an underwater vehicle due to effects of scattering. However, knowledge of the interference pattern caused by scattering provides a potential enhancement to traditional source localization techniques. Results based on a study using data from a multi-element receiving array mounted on the inner shroud of an autonomous underwater vehicle show that scattering causes the localization ambiguities (side lobes) to decrease in overall level and to move closer to the true source location, thereby improving localization performance, for signals in the frequency band 2-8 kHz. These measurements are compared with numerical modeling results from a two-dimensional time domain finite difference scheme for scattering from two fluid-loaded cylindrical shells. Measured and numerically modeled results are presented for multiple source aspect angles and frequencies. Matched field processing techniques quantify the source localization capabilities for both measurements and numerical modeling output.  相似文献

在c向静电场作用下,α-LiIO3单晶的喇曼谱发生“串线”,并且谱线强度改变。本文分析了这一现象的起因:由于离子输运引起的空间电荷涨落使α-LiIO3单晶的极化率张量和喇曼张量主轴方向发生涨落。前者产生o←→e光散射,散射光再发生一次喇曼散射,造成喇曼谱“串线”和谱线强度的改变;后者直接造成喇曼诺“串线”和谱线强度的变化。前者的贡献远大于后者。 关键词:  相似文献

Acoustic scattering from a submerged fluid-filled finite cylindrical shell insonified by an incident plane wave was studied.The analytic solutions of the scattering field are derived using the elastic thin shell theory with the boundary conditions.The fluid-filled impedance,due to the effect of internal fluid,must add to the impedance of the system.The results show that in the backscattering field,rigid scattering has a large contribution only on the broadside and elastic scattering play a major role when oblique incidence.The dispersion curves of the phase velocity show that comparing with the internal vacuum condition,except the contribution by longitudinal wave and shear wave near the broadside a series of the additional waves caused by the internal fluid is added which have great contribution to the scattering field.Bowl-shape resonance curves are presented in the frequency-angle spectrum as the contribution of the internal fluid waves.  相似文献

We demonstrate the operation of an atom interferometer based on a weakly interacting Bose-Einstein condensate. We strongly reduce the interaction induced decoherence that usually limits interferometers based on trapped condensates by tuning the s-wave scattering length almost to zero via a magnetic Feshbach resonance. We employ a 39K condensate trapped in an optical lattice, where Bloch oscillations are forced by gravity. The fine-tuning of the scattering length down to 0.1 a_(0) and the micrometric sizes of the atomic sample make our system a very promising candidate for measuring forces with high spatial resolution. Our technique can be in principle extended to other measurement schemes opening new possibilities in the field of trapped atom interferometry.  相似文献

A new powerful approximate approach for the theoretical analysis of Bragg scattering in oblique strip-like periodic arrays with the scattered wave propagating almost parallel to the array boundaries – grazing-angle scattering (GAS) – is introduced and justified. This approach is based on allowance for the diffractional divergence of the scattered wave by means of the parabolic equation of diffraction and Fourier analysis. The divergence is demonstrated to be an intrinsic physical cause of GAS. Detailed theoretical analysis of steady-state GAS is carried out for bulk and guided optical modes. It is demonstrated that the most interesting feature of GAS in arrays of width that is greater than a critical width is a unique combination of two strong simultaneous resonances with respect to frequency and angle of scattering. In such wide arrays, GAS is demonstrated to be not only unusually sensitive to angle of scattering, but also to small variations of array width and grating amplitude. Entire concentration of the resonantly strong scattered wave inside the array is shown to be possible. A relationship between GAS, conventional Bragg scattering, and extremely asymmetrical scattering (i.e. where the scattered wave propagates parallel to the array boundaries) is analysed. Applicability conditions for the used approximations and obtained results are derived and discussed.  相似文献

Quantum phase slips (QPS) in narrow superfluid channels generate momentum by unwinding the supercurrent. In a uniform Bose gas, this momentum needs to be absorbed by quasiparticles (phonons). We show that this requirement results in an additional exponential suppression of the QPS rate (compared to the rate of QPS induced by a sharply localized perturbation). In BCS-paired fluids, momentum can be transferred to fermionic quasiparticles, and we find an interesting interplay between quasiparticle scattering on QPS and on disorder.  相似文献

We investigate the transport scattering time, the single-particle relaxation time and the magnetoresistance of a quasi-two-dimensional electron gas in a GaP/AlP/GaP quantum well at zero and finite temperatures. We consider the interface-roughness and impurity scattering, and study the dependence of the mobility, scattering time and magnetoresistance on the carrier density, temperature and local-field correction. In the case of zero temperature and Hubbard local-field correction our results reduce to those of Gold and Marty (Physica E 40 (2008) 2028; Phys. Rev. B 76 (2007) 165309). We also discuss the possibility of a metal–insulator transition which might happen at low density.  相似文献

We theoretically studied the spin-dependent charge transport in a two-dimensional electron gas with Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling (DSOC) and metal junctions. It is shown that the DSOC energy can be directly measured from the tunneling conductance spectrum. We found that spin polarization of the conductance in the propagation direction can be obtained by injecting from the DSOC system. We also considered the effect of the interfacial scattering barrier (both spin-flip and non-spin-flip scattering) on the overall conductance and the spin polarization of the conductance. It is found that the increase of spin-flip scattering can enhance the conductance under certain conditions. Moreover, both types of scattering can increase the spin polarization below the branches crossing of the energy band.  相似文献

Photon emission and scattering are enhanced by the number of photons in the final state, and the photon transport equation reflects this in scattering–emission kernels and source terms. This is often a complication in both theoretical and numerical analyzes, requiring approximations and assumptions about background and material temperatures, incident and exiting photon energies, local thermodynamic equilibrium, plus other related aspects of photon scattering and emission. We review earlier schemes parameterizing photon scattering–emission processes, and suggest two alternative schemes. One links the product of photon and electron distributions in the final state to the product in the initial state by Jacobian transformation of kinematical variables (energy and angle), and the other links integrands of scattering kernels in a detailed balance requirement for overall (integrated) induced effects. Compton and inverse Compton differential scattering cross sections are detailed in appropriate limits, numerical integrations are performed over the induced scattering kernel, and for tabulation induced scattering terms are incorporated into effective cross sections for comparisons and numerical estimates. Relativistic electron distributions are assumed for calculations. Both Wien and Planckian distributions are contrasted for impact on induced scattering as LTE limit points. We find that both transformed and balanced approximations suggest larger induced scattering effects at high photon energies and low electron temperatures, and smaller effects in the opposite limits, compared to previous analyzes, with 10–20% increases in effective cross sections. We also note that both approximations can be simply implemented within existing transport modules or opacity processors as an additional term in the effective scattering cross section. Applications and comparisons include effective cross sections, kernel approximations, and impacts on radiative transport solutions in 1D geometry. The additional computing time for processing opacities (cross sections) within these approximations is negligible as induced terms are merely added (multipliers) to cross sections at the end of the processing cycle.  相似文献

This paper reports on optimization of material parameters in transmission laser welding of polymers including light absorption, light scattering and the thermal properties of the polymers. A criterion for making an optimized transmission laser weld between a transparent polymer part and an absorbing and scattering polymer part is formulated as a required thickness of the melt-zone in the transparent part with a corresponding minimum-line-energy-for-welding (MLEW). Experimental data of MLEW are presented for a medical device application involving joining polyethylene-octene parts for various concentrations of near-infrared absorber and titanium dioxide light scattering particles. Numerical and analytical models yield good agreement to the experimental data and enable optimization of the transmission laser welding process. By utilization of light scattering, the laser line-energy required for joining two polymer parts can be reduced by a factor up to three, enabling a corresponding reduction of the cycle time in the manufacturing process.  相似文献

We present a phenomenological calculation of the quasiparticle interference (QPI) pattern and inelastic neutron scattering (INS) spectra in iron-pnictide and layered iron-selenide compounds by using material specific band structure and superconducting (SC) gap properties. As both the QPI and the INS spectra arise due to scattering of the Bogolyubov quasiparticles, they exhibit a one-to-one correspondence of the scattering vectors and the energy scales. We show that these two spectroscopies complement each other in such a way that a comparative study allows one to extract quantitative and unambiguous information about the underlying pairing structure and the phase of the SC gap. Due to the nodeless and isotropic nature of the SC gaps, both the QPI and INS maps are concentrated at only two energies in pnictide (two SC gaps) and one energy in iron-selenide, while the associated scattering vectors q for scattering of sign-changing and same sign of the SC gaps change between these spectroscopies. The results presented, particularly for the newly discovered iron-selenide compounds, can be used to test the nodeless d-wave pairing in this class of high temperature superconductor.  相似文献

采用声散射理论和目标强度近似模型评估法对黄海鲤鱼(Engraulis japonicus)的声散射特征和目标强度进行了数值计算与评估研究。散射模型由鱼鳔模型和鱼体模型两个部分构成,其中鱼鳔采用充满气体的椭球体模型,鳔除外的鱼体采用充满液体的椭球体模型。理论数值计算所需参数取自全长12.6cm的鲤鱼个体,其鱼鳔尺寸利用X光照片测得。平均目标强度利用模型算得的不同角度下的声散射强度与鲲鱼倾角分布函数的卷积计算,其中倾角(度)的分布函数设为N(-3.9,12.8^2)。结果显示,鲲鱼对声波的散射具有明显指向性;在38kHz和120kHz工作频率下,鲲鱼的最大背向目标强度分别为-41.2dB和-39.5dB,有效平均目标强度分别为-48.0dB和-51.5dB,与实测结果吻合较好。另外还对鲲鱼的反向散射指向性特征、目标强度的频率特征以及鱼鳔对鲲鱼整体目标强度的贡献等进行了分析与讨论。以上研究表明,模型法作为现场测定研究方法的重要补充和认知鱼类声学散射特性的有效途径,可在我国鱼类目标强度的研究中发挥重要作用。  相似文献

Magnetic-field- and temperature-dependent Raman scattering studies of Ca3Ru2O7 reveal dramatic field-dependent properties arising from transitions between various complex orbital and magnetic phases, including a field-induced orbital-ordered to orbital-disordered transition (H(o) // hard axis), and a reentrant orbital-ordered to orbital-disordered to orbital-ordered transition (H(o) // easy axis). We find that the dramatic magnetic-field properties are most prevalent in a "mixed"-magnetic and -orbital phase regime, providing evidence for a strong connection between orbital phase inhomogeneity and "colossal" field effects in the ruthenates.  相似文献

In low energy electron point source (LEEPS) microscopy, electrons emerge from a point source, propagate as spherical waves, and arrive at a screen. Some electrons scatter off an object, i.e. a cluster of atoms, placed between the source and the screen; others arrive at the screen without scattering. The interference pattern on the screen, an electron hologram, is used to reconstruct the object by calculating and analyzing a function K(r) in the region occupied by the object. We present an iterative method that uses the original reconstruction K(o)(r) to determine the atomic configuration of the object. No knowledge of the object, except for the vicinity in which the object is located, is used in the iterative scheme. In particular, no knowledge of the atomic structure is used. The method uses K(o)(r) to make a test object that in turn gives another reconstruction K(1)(r); K(1)(r) and K(o)(r) are used to modify the test object and obtain K(2)(r). The iteration is repeated until it converges on a final object that gives a reconstruction K(f)(r) that is very similar to K(o)(r). The final object gives an atomic structure that is close to the atomic structure of the original object. Results for several idealized objects are presented and discussed.  相似文献

In the analysis of electromagnetic scattering by distributions of small dielectric particles an approximation to the scattered field can be obtained by representing the electrical interaction of the particles in terms of the dipole moments of the individual particles. The calculation of the moments necessitates the solution of certain static scattering problems, and this becomes numerically difficult when the particles are thin. An integral equation formulation of the static scattering problem specialized to the case of thin planar dielectric plates is presented, along with an efficient numerical routine. Dipole moments are obtained over a range of permittivities for plates with several thicknesses and a variety of cross-sectional shapes, and the shape dependence is discussed.  相似文献
