In this paper the so-called sudden death effect of entanglement is investigated in a quantum model. The results show that one can expect the resurrection of the original entanglement to occur in a periodic way following each sudden death event. The length of the time interval for the zero entanglement depends not only on the degree of entanglement of the initial state but also on the initial state.  相似文献

When a composite quantum state interacts with its surroundings, both quantum coherence of individual particles and quantum entanglement will decay. We have shown that under vacuum noise, i.e., during spontaneous emission, two-qubit entanglement may terminate abruptly in a finite time [T. Yu, J.H. Eberly, Phys. Rev. Lett. 93 (2004) 140404], a phenomenon termed entanglement sudden death (ESD). An open issue is the behavior of mixed-state entanglement under the influence of classical noise. In this paper we investigate entanglement sudden death as it arises from the influence of classical phase noise on two qubits that are initially entangled but have no further mutual interaction.  相似文献

We study the energy level crossing and the thermal fidelity in a two-qubit system with the presence of a transverse inhomogeneous magnetic field.With the help of contour plots,we clearly identify the ground states of the system in different regions of parameter space,and discuss the corresponding energy level crossing.The fidelity between the ground state of the system and the state of the system at temperature T is calculated.The result shows that the fidelity is very sensitive to the magnetic field anisotropic factor,indicating that this factor may be used as a controller of the fidelity.The influence of the Yangian transition operators on the fidelity of the system is discussed.We find that the Yangian operators can change the fidelity dramatically and give rise to sudden birth and sudden death phenomena of the thermal fidelity.This makes the corresponding Yangian operators possible candidates for switchers to turn the fidelity on and off.  相似文献

We study the decoherence of polarization-entangled photon pairs subject to the effects of polarization mode dispersion, the chief polarization decoherence mechanism in optical fibers. We show that fiber propagation reveals an intriguing interplay between the concepts of entanglement sudden death, decoherence-free subspaces, and nonlocality. We define the boundaries in which entanglement-based quantum communications protocols relying on fiber propagation can be applied.  相似文献

<正>The entanglement dynamics involving the so-called entanglement sudden death of atoms in two-photon Tavis-Cummings model is investigated.Various initial conditions that may have influences on the entanglement evolution of atoms,especially on the appearance of atomic entanglement sudden death,are studied. The appearance of entanglement sudden death is sensitive to the initial conditions of the whole system, i.e.,the concrete type of atomic initial state,the photon number in the cavity field,and the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms.It is shown that the strong dipole-dipole interaction between atoms can weaken the atomic entanglement sudden death.  相似文献

We investigate the entanglement dynamics of two initially entangled qubits interacting independently with two uncorrelated reservoirs beyond the Markovian approximation. Quite different from the Markovian reservoirs [C.E. López, et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 101 (2008) 080503], we find that entanglement sudden birth (ESB) of the two reservoirs occurs without certain symmetry with respect to the entanglement sudden death (ESD) of the two qubits. A phenomenological interpretation of entanglement revival is also given.  相似文献

We study the entanglement dynamics of two cavities interacting with independent reservoirs. Expectedly, as the cavity entanglement is depleted, it is transferred to the reservoir degrees of freedom. We find also that when the cavity entanglement suddenly disappears, the reservoir entanglement suddenly and necessarily appears. Surprisingly, we show that this entanglement sudden birth can manifest before, simultaneously, or even after entanglement sudden death. Finally, we present an explanatory study of other entanglement partitions and of higher dimensional systems.  相似文献

We investigate the entanglement dynamics of two initially entangled atoms each interacting with a thermal field.We show that the two entangled atoms become completely disentangled in a finite time and that the lost information cannot return to the atomic system when the mean photon number of the thermal field exceeds a critical value (3.3584),even though the whole system is lossless.Then we study how the detuning between the atomic transition frequency and the field frequency and the disparity between two coupling rates would affect the evolution of the entanglement of the atomic system.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the dynamical behaviour of entanglement in terms of concurrence in a bipartite system subjected to an external magnetic field under the action of dissipative environments in the extended Werner-like initial state. The interesting phenomenon of entanglement sudden death as well as sudden birth appears during the evolution process. We analyse in detail the effect of the purity of the initial entangled state of two qubits via Heisenberg XY interaction on the apparition time of entanglement sudden death and entanglement sudden birth. Furthermore, the conditions on the conversion of entanglement sudden death and entanglement sudden birth can be generalized when the initial entangled state is not pure. In particular, a critical purity of the initial mixed entangled state exists, above which entanglement sudden birth vanishes while entanglement sudden death appears. It is also noticed that stable entanglement, which is independent of different initial states of the qubits (pure or mixed state), occurs even in the presence of decoherence. These results arising from the combination of the extended Werner-like initial state and dissipative environments suggest an approach to control and enhance the entanglement even after purity induced sudden birth, death and revival.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of quantum discord and entanglement of two entangled two-level atoms within two isolated and dissipative cavities in the weak- or strong-coupling regime. The quantum entanglement are measured by concurrence and relative entropy. The quantum discord of two atoms based on quantum mutual information and relative entropy are also calculated. In the weak-coupling regime, the sudden death of quantum discord and entanglement of two atoms can occur simultaneously within a short interaction time. When the interaction time is long, quantum discord and entanglement of two atoms could be partially preserved due to the long-lived nature of quantum discord and entanglement. However, in the strong-coupling regime, there is no sudden death of quantum discord though the entanglement sudden death phenomenon occurs. In addition, we observe that entanglement and discord will be destroyed eventually when the atom-field interactions are strong. In this work, we extend our recent study [J.I. Rodríguez, J. Autschbach, F.L. Castillo-Alvarado, M.I. Baltazar-Méndez, J. Chem. Phys. 135, 034109 (2011)] to quantify the isomer structure effects on the atom-in-cluster polarizabilities of medium size gold clusters Au (n = 6, 12, 20, 34, 54). For three isomers for each cluster size, a density functional perturbation theory calculation was performed to compute the cluster polarizability and the polarizability of each atom in the cluster using Bader’s “quantum theory of atoms in molecules” formalism. The cluster polarizability tensor is expressed as a sum of the atom-in-cluster atomic tensors. We found that the strong quadratic correlation (R 2 = 0.98) in the isotropic polarizability of atoms in the cluster and their distance to the cluster center of mass reported before holds independently of the cluster structure.  相似文献

This paper presents results on symmetries of the spectrum of singularities for random cascades found in the statistical theory of turbulence. It is shown that empirical dimension curves possess a natural symmetry whose presence restricts the class of allowable probability distributions of the cascade generator in a simple manner. In particular, necessary and sufficient conditions on the probability distribution of the generator are obtained for symmetry of the singularity spectrum within a large class of cascade models.  相似文献

We demonstrate the presence of parity-time (PT) symmetry for the non-Hermitian two-state Hamiltonian of a dissipative microwave billiard in the vicinity of an exceptional point (EP). The shape of the billiard depends on two parameters. The Hamiltonian is determined from the measured resonance spectrum on a fine grid in the parameter plane. After applying a purely imaginary diagonal shift to the Hamiltonian, its eigenvalues are either real or complex conjugate on a curve, which passes through the EP. An appropriate basis choice reveals its PT symmetry. Spontaneous symmetry breaking occurs at the EP.  相似文献

研究了两个初始处于纠缠相干态上的宏观场各自独立地与一个环境相互作用的系统, 环境对腔场的影响只体现在腔场光子数的泄漏上. 采用共生纠缠(concurrence)度量两个宏观场间的纠缠, 并给出宏观场纠缠的解析解, 以分析这种系统中宏观场纠缠的动力学特性. 研究表明当场的初始平均光子数较大时, 即使很小的光子泄漏率也会导致腔场间出现纠缠突然死亡现象. 同时研究结果也表明光子从腔场泄漏到环境后会导致两环境间的纠缠突然产生, 而这种纠缠产生的时机直接与腔场的初始光子数相关. 本文还进一步发现在大光子数的情况下, 在任何时刻任意一个腔场与任意一个环境间都不会产生纠缠. 关键词: 纠缠相干态 环境 纠缠突然死亡 纠缠突然产生  相似文献
