We analyze the motion of an electron in a Coulomb field using the Di Vecchia-Ravndal model for a supersymmetric Dirac particle. We find an exact analytic solution of the spatial part of the pseudoclassical Bargmann-Michel-Telegdi equations. We considered the inverse problem of scattering theory for a boundary value problem on the half line generated by Klein–Gordon differential equation with a nonlinear spectral parameter‐dependent boundary condition. We defined the scattering data, and we proved the continuity of the scattering function S(λ); in a special case, the relation for the difference of the logarithm of the scattering function, which is called the Levinson‐type formula, was obtained. We obtain a cluster expansion for the two-time retarded Green's functions and the thermodynamic potential of a disordered crystal taking the electron–phonon and electron–electron interactions into account. The electron states of the system are described in the framework of a multiband tight-binding model. The calculations are based on the diagram techniques for the temperature Green's functions. The coherent potential approximation is chosen as a zeroth-order one-site approximation in this cluster expansion method. We show that the contributions from the processes of scattering of elementary excitations on clusters decrease as the number of sites in the cluster increases in accordance with certain small parameters. Analytic estimates of the influence of the electron–phonon interaction on the energy spectrum of electrons of an alloy being ordered are obtained in a one-band model. The applicability of these results to describing the influence of strong electron correlations on the electron structure and properties of alloys of transition metals with narrow energy bands is illustrated with the example of the Fe–Ti alloy.  相似文献

This work studies the scattering problem on the real axis for the Sturm–Liouville equation with discontinuous leading coefficient and the real‐valued steplike potential q(x) that has different constant asymptotes as x → ± ∞ . We investigate the properties of the scattering data, obtain the main integral equations of the inverse scattering problem, and also give necessary and sufficient conditions characterizing the scattering data. We prove an Atkinson–Wilcox‐type expansion for two‐dimensional elastic waves in this paper. The approach developed on the two‐dimensional Helmholtz equation will be applied in the proof. When the elastic fields are involved, the situation becomes much harder due to two wave solutions propagating at different phase velocities. In this paper, we analyze phase separation of multi-component Bose–Einstein condensates (BECs) in the presence of strong optical lattices. This paper is in threefold. We first prove that when the inter-component scattering lengths go to infinity, phase separation of a multi-component BEC occurs. Furthermore, particles repel each other and form segregated nodal domains. Secondly, we show that the union of these segregated nodal domains equal to the entire domain. Thirdly, we show that if the intra-component scattering lengths are bounded by some finite number, each nodal domain is connected. For large intra-component scattering lengths, however, the third result is not true and a counter example of non-connected nodal domains is given.  相似文献

The acoustic scattering operator on the real line is mapped to a Schrödinger operator under the Liouville transformation. The potentials in the image are characterized precisely in terms of their scattering data, and the inverse transfor- mation is obtained as a simple, linear quadrature. An existence theorem for the associated Harry Dym flows is proved, using the scattering method. The scattering problem associated with the Camassa–Holm flows on the real line is solved explicitly for a special case, which is used to reduce a general class of such problems to scattering problems on finite intervals.  相似文献

It was recently discovered that an eigenvector structure of commutative families of layer-to-layer matrices in three-dimensional lattice models is described by a two-dimensional spin lattice generalizing the notion of one-dimensional spin chains. We conjecture the relations between the two-dimensional spin lattice in the thermodynamic limit and the phase structure of three-dimensional lattice models. We consider two simplest cases: the homogeneous spin lattice related to the Zamolodchikov–Bazhanov–Baxter model and a chess spin lattice related to the Stroganov–Mangazeev elliptic solution of the modified tetrahedron equation. Evidence for the phase transition is obtained in the second case.  相似文献

We derive the Schrödinger equation describing the coupling of the Bose–Einstein condensate of an ideal gas to an electromagnetic field. Its solutions allow finding the evolution of the radiation intensity and of populations of coherent atomic states with different values of the recoil momenta and can be used to describe a number of effects including light scattering and amplification, amplification of an atom beam (atom laser), and induced transparency.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a classical risk process with dependence and in the presence of a constant dividend barrier. The dependence structure between the claim amounts and the interclaim times is introduced through a Farlie–Gumbel–Morgenstern copula. We analyze the expectation of the discounted penalty function and the expectation of the present value of the distributed dividends. For each function, an integro‐differential equation with boundary conditions is derived, and the solution is provided. Finally, we find an explicit solution for each function when the claim amounts are exponentially distributed. We illustrate the impact of the dependence on these two quantities. The electromagnetic scattering of the surface wave by a rectangular impedance cylinder located on an infinite reactive plane is considered for the case that the impedances of the horizontal and vertical sides of the cylinder can have different values. Firstly, the diffraction problem is reduced into a modified Wiener–Hopf equation of the third kind and then solved approximately. The solution contains branch‐cut integrals and two infinite sets of constants satisfying two infinite systems of linear algebraic equations. The approximate analytical or numerical evaluations of corresponding integrals and numerical solution of the linear algebraic equation systems are obtained for various values of parameters such as the surface reactance of the plane, the vertical and horizontal wall impedances, the width and the height of the cylinder. An analysis of the BBGKY hierarchy shows that the fluctuation theory for hydrodynamic variables (i.e., the fluid density, velocity, and temperature) must be constructed based on the hydrodynamic equations. We show that fluctuations in the hydrodynamic variables uniquely determine the fluctuations in all other thermodynamic parameters of a fluid (such as the pressure, entropy, and intrinsic energy). We find the spectral structure of fluctuation waves of the hydrodynamic variables, calculate their amplitudes, and derive the dispersion equation establishing the relation between the phase velocity of the fluctuation wave propagation and its frequency. We explain the effects of the flicker noise generation and of the stability loss on the first-order phase equilibrium lines. We also analyze the fluctuation decay process and show that this process gives rise to the effect of the Mandelstam–Brillouin scattering. We compare the obtained results with the existing fluctuation theories.  相似文献

We consider in this article a model of vesicle moving into a viscous incompressible fluid. The vesicle is described through a phase–field equation and through a transport equation modeling the local incompressibility of its membrane. The equations for the fluid are the classical Navier–Stokes equations with a force resulting from the presence of the vesicle. We establish traveling wave solutions for the combustion model of a shear flow in a cylinder. We study two cases: the infinite Lewis number and an arbitrary Lewis number. For the infinite Lewis number, we establish the existence of traveling wave fronts for both non‐minimal and minimal speeds. We consider the vibrations of an elastic plate that contains a small region whose size depends on a small parameter ε. The density is of order O(ε–m) in the small region, the concentrated mass, and it is of order O(1) outside; m is a positive parameter. The thickness plate h being fixed, we describe the asymptotic behaviour, as ε→O, of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the corresponding spectral problem, depending on the value of m: Low‐ and high‐frequency vibrations are studied for m>2. In this paper, we assume that an investor can invest his/her wealth in a bond and a stock. In our wealth model, the stochastic interest rate is described by a Cox–Ingersoll–Ross (CIR) model, and the volatility of the stock is proportional to another CIR process. We obtain a closed‐form expression of the optimal policy that maximizes a power utility. Moreover, a verification theorem without the usual Lipschitz assumptions is proved, and the relationships between the optimal policy and various parameters are given. In this paper, we consider a class of second‐order initial value problems. We extend the family of second‐order initial value problems for which the existence and uniqueness of a solution is known. To handle the singularity, we introduce the more general Caratheodory type of restrictions.
