In this paper, we consider the global dynamics of the S(E)IS model with delays denoting an incubation time. By constructing a Lyapunov functional, we prove stability of a disease‐free equilibrium E0 under a condition different from that in the recent paper. Then we claim that R0≤1 is a necessary and sufficient condition under which E0 is globally asymptotically stable. We also propose a discrete model preserving positivity and global stability of the same equilibria as the continuous model with distributed delays, by means of discrete analogs of the Lyapunov functional.  相似文献

We study the global stability of a multistrain SIS model with superinfection and patch structure. We establish an iterative procedure to obtain a sequence of threshold parameters. By a repeated application of a result by Takeuchi et al. [Nonlinear Anal Real World Appl. 2006;7:235–247], we show that these parameters completely determine the global dynamics of the system: for any number of patches and strains with different infectivities, any subset of the strains can stably coexist depending on the particular choice of the parameters.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the dynamics of an SIS epidemic model with diffusion. We first study the well-posedness of the model. And then, by using linearization method and constructing suitable Lyapunov function, we establish the local and global stability of the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium, respectively. Furthermore, in view of Schauder fixed point theorem, we show that the model admits traveling wave solutions connecting the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium when R_0 1 and c c~*. And also, by virtue of the two-sided Laplace transform, we prove that the model has no traveling wave solution connecting the two equilibria when R_0 1 and c ∈ [0, c~*).  相似文献

In this article, we establish the global stability of an endemic equilibrium of multi-group SIR epidemic models, which have not only an exchange of individuals between patches through migration but also cross patch infection between different groups. As a result, we partially generalize the recent result in the article [16].  相似文献

We study the stability of endemic equilibriums of the deterministic and stochastic SIS epidemic models with vaccination. The deterministic SIS epidemic model with vaccination was proposed by Li and Ma(2004), for which some sufficient conditions for the global stability of the endemic equilibrium were given in some earlier works. In this paper, we first prove by Lyapunov function method that the endemic equilibrium of the deterministic model is globally asymptotically stable whenever the basic reproduction number is larger than one. For the stochastic version, we obtain some sufficient conditions for the global stability of the endemic equilibrium by constructing a class of different Lyapunov functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a disease transmission model of SIRS type with latent period τ?0 and the specific nonmonotone incidence rate, namely, . For the basic reproduction number R0>1, applying monotone iterative techniques, we establish sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of endemic equilibrium of system which become partial answers to the open problem in [Hai-Feng Huo, Zhan-Ping Ma, Dynamics of a delayed epidemic model with non-monotonic incidence rate, Commun. Nonlinear Sci. Numer. Simul. 15 (2010) 459-468]. Moreover, combining both monotone iterative techniques and the Lyapunov functional techniques to an SIR model by perturbation, we derive another type of sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a discrete epidemic model for disease with immunity and latency spreading in a heterogeneous host population, which is derived from the continuous case by using the well-known backward Euler method and by applying a Lyapunov function technique, which is a discrete version of that in the paper by Prüss et al. [J. Prüss, L. Pujo-Menjouet, G.F. Webb, R. Zacher, Analysis of a model for the dynamics of prions, Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst. Ser. B 6 (2006) 225-235]. It is shown that the global dynamics of this discrete epidemic model with latency are fully determined by a single threshold parameter.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a basic reproduction number for a multigroup SEIR model with nonlinear incidence of infection and nonlinear removal functions between compartments. Then, we establish that global dynamics are completely determined by the basic reproduction number R0. It shows that, the basic reproduction number R0 is a global threshold parameter in the sense that if it is less than or equal to one, the disease free equilibrium is globally stable and the disease dies out; whereas if it is larger than one, there is a unique endemic equilibrium which is globally stable and thus the disease persists in the population. Finally, two numerical examples are also included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed result.

In this letter, a discrete SIS (susceptible–infected–susceptible) epidemic model on complex networks is presented. Firstly, the non-negativity and the boundedness of solutions are studied. Secondly, the basic reproduction number R0 is calculated. Thirdly, applying the Lyapunov direct method of difference equations, the global asymptotic stability of disease free equilibrium is investigated. Finally, there give some simulations.  相似文献

We study the stability of a delay susceptible–infective–recovered epidemic model with time delay. The model is formulated under the assumption that all individuals are susceptible, and we analyse the global stability via two methods—by Lyapunov functionals, and—in terms of the variance of the variables. The main theorem shows that the endemic equilibrium is stable. If the basic reproduction number ?0 is less than unity, by LaSalle invariance principle, the disease‐free equilibrium Es is globally stable and the disease always dies out. By applying the integral averaging theory, we also investigate the stability in variance of the model. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Analysis of a SIS epidemic model with stage structure and a delay   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
IntroductionAfter the pioneering work of Kermack-McKendrick on SIRS epidemiological models havebeen studied by many authorSll--31. There are some ldnds of disease which are only spread orhave more opportunities to be spread among children, for example, measles, chickenpox andscarlet fever, while others infectious diseases such as gonorrhea, swahilis are spread only amongadults. Consequently, realistic analysis of disease transmission in a population often requiresthe model to include stage …  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a generalized SIRS epidemic model with varying total population size caused by the death rate due to the disease and transfer from infectious to susceptible, where the incidence rate employed includs a wide range of monotonic and concave incidence rates. Applying the geometric approach developed by Smith, Li and Muldowey, we prove that the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable provided that the rate of loss of immuity $\delta$ is in a critical interval $[\eta,\bar\delta)$ when the basic reproduction number $R_0$ is greater than unity.  相似文献
