In this paper, we study the stability radii of positive linear systems with delays with respect to various classes of perturbations in infinite dimensional spaces. It is shown that the positive, real and complex stability radii coincide. Moreover, explicit formulas are derived for these stability radii and illustrated by a simple example.  相似文献

We give a short proof showing that the growth bound of a positive semigroup on equals the spectral bound of its generator. It is based on a new boundedness theorem for positive convolution operators on . We also give a counterexample, showing that Gearhart's result does not extend from Hilbert spaces to -spaces.

In this paper, we establish several new Lyapunov type inequalities for discrete linear Hamiltonian systems when the end-points are not necessarily usual zeros, but rather, generalized zeros, which generalize and improve almost all related existing ones. Applying these inequalities, an optimal stability criterion is obtained.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with spectral problems for a class of discrete linear Hamiltonian systems with self-adjoint boundary conditions, where the existence and uniqueness of solutions of initial value problems may not hold. A suitable admissible function space and a difference operator are constructed so that the operator is self-adjoint in the space. Then a series of spectral results are obtained: the reality of eigenvalues, the completeness of the orthogonal normalized eigenfunction system, Rayleigh's principle, the minimax theorem and the dual orthogonality. Especially, the number of eigenvalues including multiplicities and the number of linearly independent eigenfunctions are calculated.  相似文献

It is well known that if is infinite compact Hausdorff and scattered (i.e., with no perfect subsets), then the Banach space of continuous functions on has complemented copies of , i.e., . We address the question if this could be the only type of decompositions of into infinite-dimensional summands for infinite, scattered. Making a special set-theoretic assumption such as the continuum hypothesis or Martin's axiom we construct an example of Mrówka's space (i.e., obtained from an almost disjoint family of sets of positive integers) which answers positively the above question.

In this paper, a class of nonlinear damped wave equations of the form αu?(t)+u(t)=βAu(t)+γAu(t)+f(t,u(t)), t?0, satisfying αβ<γ with prescribed initial conditions are studied. Some sufficient conditions are established for the existence and uniqueness of an asymptotically almost periodic solution. These results have significance in the study of vibrations of flexible structures possessing internal material damping. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the results.  相似文献

In a separable Banach space E, we study the invariance of a closed set K under the action of the evolution equation associated with a maximal dissipative linear operator A perturbed by a quasi-dissipative continuous term B. Using the distance to the closed set, we give a general necessary and sufficient condition for the invariance of K. Then, we apply our result to several examples of partial differential equations in Banach and Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a new kind of nonnegative matrices which is called (sp) matrices. We show that the zero solutions of a class of linear discrete dynamical systems are asymptotically stable if and only if the coefficient matrices are (sp) matrices. To determine that a matrix is (sp) matrix or not is very simple, we need only to verify that some elements of the coefficient matrices are zero or not. According to the result above, we obtain the conditions for the stability of several classes of discrete dynamical systems.  相似文献

This paper presents necessary and sufficient conditions for uniform exponential stabilization of a class of nonlinear systems in Banach state spaces. The stabilization assumptions are formulated in terms of integral estimates involving the control operator and the state of the uncontrolled version of the system at hand. An explicit estimate of the convergence speed is given. Applications to feedback stabilization of affine control systems are given. Illustrative examples are further provided.  相似文献

The problem of improving the optimal steady state of a discrete system by means of a suitable cyclic operation is discussed. Two sufficient conditions are found by negating a necessary condition and by following a frequency-domain approach, respectively. In order to extend the theory of optimal domains for continuous operators on a Banach function space X(μ) over a finite measure μ, we consider operators T satisfying other type of inequalities than the one given by the continuity which occur in several well-known factorization theorems (for instance, Pisier Factorization Theorem through Lorentz spaces, pth-power factorable operators …). We prove that such a T factorizes through a space of multiplication operators which can be understood in a certain sense as the optimal domain for T. Our extended optimal domain technique does not need necessarily the equivalence between μ and the measure defined by the operator T and, by using δ-rings, μ is allowed to be infinite. Classical and new examples and applications of our results are also given, including some new results on the Hardy operator and a factorization theorem through Hilbert spaces.  相似文献
