A simple, selective and reliable method for rapid extraction and determination of trace amounts of Cu (II) ions from aqueous samples using octadecyl-bonded silica membrane disks modified with bis-(3-methoxy salicylaldehyde)-1,6-diaminohexane and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) is presented. Extraction efficiency, the influence of pH, flow rates, amount of ligand, and type and least amount of eluant were investigated. The linear dynamic range of the proposed method for Cu (II) ions was found in a wide concentration range of 1.0 (± 0.2)–150 (± 2) μg l− 1. The detection limit and preconcentration factor of this method were found 30.0 (± 0.7) ng l− 1 and 100 respectively. The reproducibility of the procedure is at the most 2.0%. The effects of various cationic interferences on the percent recovery of copper ion were studied. The method was used to the recovery of copper ion from different synthetic, alloys and biological samples.  相似文献

A simple and selective method for rapid and efficient concentration and determination of μg l−1 levels of Au(III) ions in aqueous solution using octadecyl silica membrane disks modified by pentathia-15-crown-5 and flame atomic absorption spectrometry is presented. The influence of flow rates of eluent and sample solution, amount of ligand, types and least amount of eluent for elution of Au from disks were investigated. Break through volume and limit of detection of the membrane disks modified by 5 mg of the thiacrown ether was found to be 2.0 l and 1.0 μg l−1, respectively. The effects of various cationic interferences on percent recovery of gold were studied. The method was successfully applied for the determinations of gold in some pharmaceutical samples and for the recovery of trace Au3+ ions from synthetic and water samples.  相似文献

A preconcentration method based on the adsorption of palladium-dimethylglyoxime (DMG) complex on silica gel for the determination of palladium at trace levels by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) has been developed. The retained palladium as Pd(DMG)2 complex was eluted with 1 mol l−1 HCl in acetone. The effect of some analytical parameters such as pH, amount of reagent and the sample volume on the recovery of palladium was examined in synthetic solutions containing street dust matrix. The influence of some matrix ions on the recovery of palladium was investigated by using the developed method when the elements were present both individually and together. The results showed that 2500 μg ml−1 Na+, K+, Mg2+, Al3+ and Fe3+; 5000 μg ml−1 Ca2+ ; 500 μg ml−1 Pb2+; 125 μg ml−1 Zn2+; 50 μg ml−1 Cu2+ and 25 μg ml−1 Ni2+ did not interfere with the palladium signal. At the optimum conditions determined experimentally, the recovery for palladium was found to be 95.3±1.2% at the 95% confidence level. The relative standard deviation and limit of detection (3s/b) of the method were found to be 1.7% and 1.2 μg l−1, respectively. In order to determine the adsorption behaviour of silica gel, the adsorption isotherm of palladium was studied and the binding equilibrium constant and adsorption capacity were calculated to be 0.38 l mg−1 and 4.06 mg g−1, respectively. The determination of palladium in various samples was performed by using both flame AAS and graphite furnace AAS. The proposed method was successfully applied for the determination of palladium in the street dust, anode slime, rock and catalytic converter samples.  相似文献

In the present work, an electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometric method has been developed for the determination of ultra‐trace amounts of rhodium after adsorption of its 2‐(5‐bromo‐2‐pyridylazo)‐5‐diethylaminophenol/tetraphenylborate ion associated complex at the surface of alumina. Several factors affecting the extraction efficiency such as the pH, type of eluent, sample and eluent flow rates, sorption capacity of alumina and sample volume were investigated and optimized. The relative standard deviation for eight measurements of 0.1 ng/mL of rhodium was ±6.3%. In this method, the detection limit was 0.003 ng/mL in the original solution. The sorption capacity of alumina and the linear range for Rh(III) were evaluated as 0.8 mg/g and 0.015–0.45 ng/mL in the original solution, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied for the extraction and determination of rhodium content in some food and standard samples with high recovery values.  相似文献

An analytical method using silica gel chemically modified with zirconium (IV) phosphate for preconcentration of lead and copper, in a column system, and their sequential determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), was developed. Sample solutions are passed through a glass column packed with 100 mg of the sorbent material, at pH 4.5, and lead and copper are eluted with 1.0 mol l−1 HNO3 at a flow rate of 2.0 ml min−1. The extraction of copper is affected by Fe(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) while only Fe(II) interferes in the lead determination. These interferences may be overcome with an appropriate addition of a KI or NaF solution. An enrichment factor of 30 was obtained for both metals. While the limits of detection (3σ) were 6.1 and 1.1 μg l−1, for Pb and Cu, respectively, the limits of determination were 16.7 and 3.3 μg l−1. The precision expressed as relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) obtained for 3.3 μg l−1 of Cu and 16.7 μg l−1 of Pb were 4.3 and 4.7%, respectively, calculated from ten measurements. The proposed method was evaluated with reference material and was applied for the determination of lead and copper in industrial and river waters.  相似文献

A new time-based flow injection on-line solid phase extraction method for chromium(VI) and lead determination using flame atomic absorption spectrometry was developed. The use of hydrophobic poly-chlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE)-beads as absorbent in on-line preconcentration system was evaluated. Effective formation of ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate complexes and subsequently retention in PCTFE packed column, was achieved in pH range 1.0-1.6 and 1.5-3.2 for Cr(VI) and Pb(II) ions, respectively. The sorbed analyte was efficiently eluted with isobutyl-methyl-ketone for on-line FAAS determination. The proposed packing material exhibited excellent chemical and mechanical resistance, fast kinetics for adsorption of Cr(VI) and Pb(II) permitting the use of high sample flow rates at least up to 15 mL min−1 without loss of retention efficiency. For a preconcentration time of 90 s, the sample frequency was 30 h−1, the enhancement factor was 94 and 220, the detection limit was 0.4 and 1.2 μg L−1, while the precision (R.S.D.) was 1.8% (at 5 μg L−1) and 2.1% (at 30 μg L−1) for chromium(VI) and lead, respectively. The applicability and the accuracy of the developed method were estimated by the analysis spiked water samples and certified reference material NIST-CRM 1643d (Trace elements in water) and NIST-SRM 2109 (chromium(VI) speciation in water).  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method has been developed for the trace determination of bismuth in aqueous samples by a combination of solid‐phase extraction and hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry. The method is based on the use of a column packed with 2‐mercaptobenzothiazole immobilized on sodium dodecyl sulfate coated alumina. Different parameters influencing the separation and preconcentration of bismuth such as pH, sample volume, type, and concentration of eluent, and the flow rate of sample and eluent were studied. A sample volume of 500.0 mL resulted in a preconcentration factor of 100. The precision (relative standard deviation, N = 10) at the 300 ng/L level and the limit of detection (3s) were found to be 2.3% and 12 ng/L, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of bismuth in natural water samples and two certified reference materials.  相似文献

A novel Pd(II)-imprinted amino-functionalized silica gel sorbent was prepared with the help of a surface-imprinting technique for the preconcentration and separation of Pd(II) prior to its determination by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. Compared to the traditional solid sorbents and non-imprinted polymer particles, the ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) had a higher adsorption capacity and selectivity for Pd(II). The maximum static adsorption capacity of the imprinted and non-imprinted sorbent for Pd(II) was 26.71 mg g−1 and 10.13 mg g−1, respectively. The relative selectivity factor (αr) of Pd(II)/Zn(II), Pd(II)/Au(III), Pd(II)/Ru(III), Pd(II)/Rh(III), Pd(II)/Pt(IV), Pd(II)/Ir(III), Pd(II)/Fe(III) and Pd(II)/Zn(II) is 39.0, 60.2, 92.0, 85.0, 50.0, 58.0 and 45.0, respectively. The detection limit (3σ) of the method is 0.36 μg L−1. The relative standard deviation was 3.2% for eight replicate determinations of 10 μg of Pd2+ in 200 mL water sample. The method was validated by analyzing a standard reference material, and the results obtained were in good agreement with the standard values. The method was also applied to the determination of trace palladium in geological samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Syringe connected-minicolumn (SCM) method for the preconcentration/separation of iron and lead prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was developed. The proposed method is substituted for classical batch and column methods. The method proposed was compared with the column method with respect to easiness, rapidness, simplicity and some analytical performance criteria such as recovery, precision, accuracy and risk of contamination. A minicolumn was filled with Chromosorb-103 as a sorbent and connected with a syringe. The experimental conditions such as pH of sample, concentration and amount of eluent, flow rates of sample and eluent, concentration of 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) as a complexing agent were optimized. The sample solution with or without oxine was drawn into the syringe and discharged manually passing through the resin. Analytes were retained at pH ≥5 and eluted with 1 M nitric acid in acetone quantitatively. Analyte elements could be concentrated up to 200-fold. The iron and lead in river-water samples and in certified reference Bovine Liver (NIST 1577b) were quantitatively recovered with relative standard deviation lower than 10%.  相似文献

New ion-imprinted polymeric (IIP) materials were synthesized by copolymerization of 4-vinylpyridine (VP) and styrene as functional monomers and divinylbenzene as a cross-linking agent with chelating complexes of Pd(II) in the presence of 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator. The complexes of Pd(II) with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC), N,N′-diethylthiourea (DET), and dimethylglyoxime (DMG) were used for this purpose. Chloroform, ethanol, and cyclohexanol were applied as porogens. The ion-imprinted polymers were tested in a flow mode as sorbents for solid-phase extraction of palladium from aqueous solutions. The conditions of Pd(II) separation on all polymers were optimized. The efficiencies of retention of Pd on different polymers in the presence of high excess of interfering ions were compared. The effect of the used porogen on the analytical performance of the prepared polymers was also investigated. The calculated sorbent capacities for Pd(II) were in the range from 9.25 mg g−1 to 13.3 mg g−1. The sorbent with Pd(II) imprinted as Pd-DMG-VP complex in chloroform was used for preconcentration of trace amounts of Pd. The detection limit for 100 mL of the sample was 5 μg L−1 using flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The developed method was applied for the determination of Pd in water samples.  相似文献

A modified SBA-15 mesoporous silica material NH2-SBA-15 was synthesized successfully by grafting γ-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane. The material was characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared/Raman (FT-IR/Raman) spectroscopy, and used for the first time in a flow injection on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) to detect trace Cr (VI). Effective sorption of Cr (VI) was achieved at pH 2.0 with no interference from Cr (III) and other ions and 0.5 mol L−1 NH3·H2O solution was found optimal for the complete elution of Cr (VI). An enrichment factor of 44 and was achieved under optimized experimental conditions at a sample loading of 2.0 mL min−1 sample loading (300 s) and an elution flow rate of 2.0 mL min−1 (24 s). The precision of the 11 replicate Cr (VI) measurements was 2.1% at the 100 μg L−1 level with a detection limit of 0.2 μg L−1 (3 s, n = 10) using the FAAS. The developed method was successfully applied to trace chromium determination in waste water. The accuracy was validated using a certified reference material of riverine water (GBW08607).  相似文献

A new method based on microcolumn packed with ionic liquid-modified silica combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry has been developed for the determination of lead in environmental samples. Several factors influencing the preconcentration efficiency of lead and its subsequent determination, such as pH of the sample, flow rate, mass of ionic liquid, and interfering effect, have been investigated. Lead could be quantitatively retained by ionic liquid-modified silica in the pH range of 5-7, and then eluted completely with 3.0 mL 1.0 mol L−1 HCl. The detection limit of this method for lead was 0.7 μg L−1 with preconcentration factor of 185, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 4.2% at 0.1 μg mL−1 Pb(II). This method has been applied for the determination of trace amount of lead in NIST standard reference material 2709 (San Joaquin Soil) and river water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Flow-injection graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric (GFAAS) methods were worked out using oxime, sulphoxine and 2,2′-diamino-diethylamine (DEN) cellulose microcolumns for preconcentration of platinum after reduction by iodide or sulphite ions. The detection limits were, at 20-fold enrichment, 0.21, 0.18 and 0.30 μg l−1, respectively. The total reflection X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (TXRF) was also used for the determination of platinum in eluates. The method was applied for the determination of platinum in salmeterol xinafoate and Ca-folinate pharmaceutical compounds. Decomposition of organic matrix of Ca-folinate was necessary before the preconcentration.  相似文献

Six chelating matrices have been prepared by anchoring 2,3-dihydroxypyridine (DHP) and 2-{[1-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}benzoic acid (DMABA) onto Amberlite XAD-2 and XAD-16 and 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (DHB), and iminodiacetic acid (IDA) onto silica gel. The materials were explored for enrichment of palladium followed by its determination with flame AAS. The optimum pH ranges for quantitative solid phase extraction by these matrices are from 4.0–5.5 to 5.5–7.0. The flow rates (column procedure) and concentration of HCl required for desorption have been optimized. Thiourea (∼3%) is essential for quantitative recovery of Pd. The t1/2 values are between 5 and 15 min. The sorption capacity varies from 38 to 192 μmol g−1 (highest for silica gel loaded with iminodiacetic acid). The preconcentration factors were found in the range 20–150. Tolerance limits of foreign species in the enrichment are reported. The enrichment procedures coupled with FAAS determinations were applied to synthetic solutions corresponding to standards GBW07293 and NIST SRM 2557 successfully.  相似文献

A preconcentration method is developed for the on-line determination of palladium in complex matrices with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The flow system comprised of a minicolumn filled with polyamine Metalfix-Chelamine resin which is highly selective for Pt(IV), Au(III) and Pd(II). Best preconcentration conditions are established by testing different resin quantities, sample and eluent solution volumes, and adsorption and elution steps flow rates. Sample volumes of 4.7 ml of palladium solutions resulted in an enrichment factor of twenty at the optimum hydrodynamic conditions. This value can be increased by injecting larger volumes of sample solution. The method is sensitive, easy to operate and permitted the determination of sub-mg l−1 levels of palladium with a detection limit of 0.009 mg l−1. The resin was used up to 60 times in consecutive retention-elution cycles without any appreciable deterioration in its performance. The applicability of this method was tested by determining the palladium content in synthetic geological samples as well as in the pellet-type used car catalyst reference material.  相似文献

The present article reports on the application of modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MMWCNTs) as a new, easily prepared and stable solid sorbent for the preconcentration of trace rhodium ion in aqueous solution. Rhodium ions were complexed with 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) in the pH range of 3.2-4.7 and then the formed Rh-PAN complex was adsorbed on the oxidized MWCNTs. The adsorbed complex was eluted from MWCNTs sorbent with 5.0 mL of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). The rhodium in eluted solution was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Linear range for the determination of rhodium was maintained between 0.16 ng mL−1 and 25.0 μg mL−1 in initial solution. Relative standard deviation for the 10 replicated determination of 4.0 μg mL−1 of rhodium was ±0.97%. Detection limit was 0.010 ng mL−1 in initial solution (3Sbl, n = 10) and preconcentration factor was 120. Sensitivity for 1% absorbance of rhodium (III) was 0.112 μg mL−1. The sorption capacity of oxidized MWCNTs for Rh (III) was 6.6 mg g−1. The effects of the experimental parameters, including the sample pH, flow rates of sample and eluent solution, eluent type, breakthrough volume and interference ions were studied for the preconcentration of Rh3+. The proposed method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of rhodium in different samples.  相似文献

A new and efficient method was described for an easy synthesis of functionalized mesoporous silica (MCM-41) using thiophene-2-carbaldehyde. This new chemically bonded analytical reagent was used as an effective sorbent for the solid phase extraction of palladium(II) ion from aqueous solutions. Conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of palladium concentration were optimized with respect to different experimental parameters in batch process. Thiourea solution could efficiently elute adsorbed palladium(II) ion from the surface of the sorbent which then was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES).Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination. The preconcentration factor was 100 (1 ml elution volume) for a 100 ml sample volume. The limit of detection of the proposed method is 0.2 ng ml−1. The maximum sorption capacity of sorbent under optimum conditions has been found to be 5 mg of palladium per gram of sorbent. The relative standard deviation under optimum conditions was 3.2% (n = 10). Accuracy and application of the method was estimated by using test samples of natural and synthetic water spiked with different amounts of palladium(II) ion.  相似文献

Fe3O4 nanoparticles coated with SiO2 and modified with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate as a new adsorbent for the single-step extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts of copper and nickel from tobacco samples were prepared. The particle sizes of nanoparticles were characterised by transmission electron microscope. Several parameters affecting the analytical performance, such as the amount of ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate, amount of magnetic nanoparticles, pH, contact time, coexisting ions, desorption solution and reuse times of magnetic solid-phase extraction, were discussed and optimised. The analytes desorbed from magnetic nanoparticles were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Under the optimum conditions, the analytical linear ranges were 0.02–15 mg/L for Cu and 0.02–20 mg/L for Ni (R2 > 0.9992). The relative standard deviations (RSDs, n = 5) of 1.8% and 2.1% were obtained for Cu and Ni, respectively. The method detection limits were 0.0028 μg/g for Cu and 0.0037 μg/g for Ni. The proposed method was successfully applied to tobacco sample analysis and got excellent recoveries in the range of 89.6–102.3% and RSDs (n = 5) of 1.2–2.5%. This method is much faster and more effective than traditional methods, and it is promising for the analysis of heavy metals.  相似文献
