The structure, transport and magnetic properties of (La0.8Sr0.2)1−xMnO3 (0≤x≤0.30) polycrystalline perovskite manganites have been investigated. For all the samples the Curie temperatures, Tc, remain nearly unchanged (329±3 K). Resistivity versus temperature curves for the samples show a double-peak behavior. A significant magnetoresistance (MR) effect and different temperature dependences of the MR ratios of the samples are observed. The shapes of the MR-T curves of the samples can be adjusted by changing x. For the x=0.30 sample, a nearly constant MR ratio of (9.5±0.5)% is obtained over the temperature range from 205 to 328 K.  相似文献

The effect of Te-doping at La-site on structural, magnetic and transport properties in the manganites La0.7Sr0.3−xTexMnO3 (0≤x≤0.15) has been investigated. All samples show a rhombohedral structure with the space group . It shows that the Mn-O-Mn bond angle decreases and the Mn-O bond length increases with the increase of Te content. The Curie temperature TC decreases with increasing Te-doping level, in contrast, the magnetization magnitude of Te-doping samples at low temperatures increase with increasing x as x≤0.05 and then decrease with further increasing x to 0.15. The results are discussed in terms of the combined effects of the opening of the new double exchange (DE) channel between Mn2+-O-Mn3+ due to the introduction of Mn2+ ions because of the substitution of Te4+ for Sr2+ and the reduction of the transfer integral b due to the decrease of the Mn-O-Mn bond angle.  相似文献

The effect of Te-doping at La-site on structural, magnetic and transport properties in the manganites La0.7Ca0.3−xTexMnO3 (0≤x≤0.15) has been investigated. All samples show an orthorhombic structure (O′-Pbnm) at room temperature. It shows that the Mn-O-Mn bond angle decreases and the Mn-O bond length increases with the increase in the Te content. All samples exhibit an insulator-metal (I-M) transition and the resistivity increases with the increase in the Te-doping level. Additionally, the Curie temperature Tc decreases and the transition becomes broader with increasing Te-doping level, in contrast, the magnetization of Te-doping samples at low temperatures decrease with increasing x as x≤0.10 and then increase with further increasing x to 0.15. The results are discussed in terms of Jahn-Teller (JT) vibrational anisotropy Q3/Q2 and the opening of the new DE channel between Mn2+-O-Mn3+ due to the introduction of Mn2+ ions because of the substitution of Te4+ ions for Ca2+ ions.  相似文献

The study of the structural and magnetic phase diagram of the manganites La1−xAgxMnO3 shows similarity with the La1−xSrxMnO3 series, involving a metallic ferromagnetic domain at relatively high temperature (≈300 K). The Ag-system differs from the Sr-one by a much smaller homogeneity range (x≤1/6) and the absence of charge ordering. But the most important feature of the Ag-manganites deals with the exceptionally high magnetoresistance (−25%) at room temperature under 1.2 T, that appears for the composition x=1/6. The latter is interpreted as the coincidence of the optimal double exchange condition (Mn3+:Mn4+=2) with Tmax=300 K (maximum of the ρ(T) curve in zero field).  相似文献

The electronic structure of polycrystalline ferromagnetic Zn1−xCoxO (0.05≤x≤0.15) and the oxidation state of Co in it, have been investigated. The Co-doped polycrystalline samples are synthesized by a combustion method and are ferromagnetic at room temperature. XPS and optical absorption studies show evidence for Co2+ ions in the tetrahedral symmetry, indicating substitution of Co2+ in the ZnO lattice. However, powder XRD and electron diffraction data show the presence of Co metal in the samples. This give evidence to the fact that some Co2+ ion are incorporated in the ZnO lattice which gives changes in the electronic structure whereas ferromagnetism comes from the Co metal impurities present in the samples.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance on La2/3−xYxCa1/3MnO3 in the paramagnetic (PM) regime is presented for 0≤x≤0.133. The resonance linewidth (ΔHpp) decreases with cooling, reaches the minimum at Tmin, and then anomalously increases with further cooling toward Tc. Our analysis on ΔHpp(T) below Tmin shows that the anomalous PM behavior below Tmin is due to the appearance of a ferromagnetic (FM) phase within the PM matrix caused by the applied magnetic fields. The correlation between the anomalous PM and the colossal magnetoresistance is discussed. We argue that both are caused by the phase segregation in which the compound is phase-separated into a mixture of FM and PM regions.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the resistivity for composite samples of (1−x)La0.67Ba0.33MnO3+xYSZ(LBMO/YSZ) with different YSZ doping level of x has been investigated in a magnetic field range of 0-7000 Oe, where the YSZ represents yttria-stabilized zirconia (8 mol% Y2O3+92 mol% ZrO2). With increasing YSZ doping level, the range of 0-10%, the metal-insulator transition temperature (TP) decreases. However, the resistivity, specially the low temperature resistivity, increases. Results also show that the YSZ doping level has an important effect on a low field magnetoresistance (LFMR). In the magnetic field of 7000 Oe, a room temperature magnetoresistance value of 20% was observed for the composite with a YSZ doping level of 2%, which is encouraging for potential application of CMR materials at room temperature and low field.  相似文献

Electrical conductivity and magnetoresistance of a series of monovalent (K) doped La1−xKxMnO3 polycrystalline pellets prepared by pyrophoric method have been reported. K doping increases the conductivity as well as the Curie temperature (TC) of the system. Curie temperature increases from 260 to 309 K with increasing K content. Above the metal-insulator transition temperature (T>TMI), the electrical resistivity is dominated by adiabatic polaronic model, while in the ferromagnetic region (50<T<TMI), the resistivity is governed by several electron scattering processes. Based on a scenario that the doped manganites consist of phase separated ferromagnetic metallic and paramagnetic insulating regions, all the features of the temperature variation of the resistivity between ∼50 and 300 K are described very well by a single expression. All the K doped samples clearly display the existence of strongly field dependent resistivity minimum close to ∼30 K. Charge carrier tunneling between antiferromagnetically coupled grains explains fairly well the resistivity minimum in monovalent (K) doped lanthanum manganites. Field dependence of magnetoresistance at various temperatures below TC is accounted fairly well by a phenomenological model based on spin polarized tunneling at the grain boundaries. The contributions from the intrinsic part arising from DE mechanism, as well as, the part originating from intergrannular spin polarized tunneling are also estimated.  相似文献

The magnetism and transport properties of the samples LaMn1−xTixO3 (0≤x≤0.2) were investigated. All samples show a rhombohedral structure () at room temperature. The sample with x=0 undergoes the paramagnetic-ferromagnetic (PM-FM) transition accompanied by an insulator-metal (I-M) transition due to the oxygen excess. The doped samples show ferromagnetism and cluster behavior at low temperatures. Though no I-M transition associated with the PM-FM transition appears, the magnetoresistance (MR) effect was observed especially at low temperatures under the applied fields of 0.5 T. Due to the fact that the oxygen content in the Ti-doped samples is nearly stochiometry (3.01) and the Hall resistivity at room temperature is negative, the ferromagnetism in LaMn1−xTixO3 (0.05≤x≤0.2) is believed to be consistent with the Mn2+-O-Mn3+ double exchange (DE) mechanism. These results suggest that DE can be obtained by direct Mn-site doping.  相似文献

Ethylene glycol solutions of La-Mn(II) and La-Ca-Mn(II) citric complexes has been used as a starting material for spray-pyrolysis deposition of LaMnO3 and La1−xCaxMnO3 thin films on β-quartz, fused quartz, Si(0 0 1) and SrTiO3(1 0 0) substrates heated during the deposition at 380 °C. At suitable post-deposition heating conditions highly uniform films, 0.1-1 μm in thickness, with good crystal structure were obtained. Highly textured LaMnO3 films are obtained on SrTiO3(1 0 0) substrate. Interaction between the layer and Si-containing substrates is observed during the post-deposition heating in static air.  相似文献

The specific heat (C) of bi-layered manganites La2−2xSr1+2xMn2O7 (x=0.3 and 0.5) is investigated for the ground state of low temperature excitations. A T3/2 dependent term in the low temperature specific heat (LTSH) is identified at zero magnetic field and suppressed by magnetic fields for x=0.3 sample, which is consistent with a ferromagnetic metallic ground state. For x=0.5 sample, a T2 term is observed and is consistent with a two-dimensional (2D) antiferromagnetic insulator. However, it is almost independent of magnetic field within the range of measured temperature (0.6-10 K) and magnetic field (6 T).  相似文献

The magnetic and transport properties of La1−xCaxMnO3 (0≤x<0.4) have been systematically studied. The magnetoresistance (MR) maximum appears at x=0.2-0.25 and the temperature dependence of MR for x>0.25 shows a much broader profile than that of samples for x=0.2-0.25. Based on a scenario in which there is a short-range charge ordering (CO) state coexisting in the ferromagnetic state matrix for x>0.25, and the least or even no short-range CO state exists in samples for x=0.2-0.25, the above observations can be understood.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the resistance of composite samples (1−x)La0.67Sr0.33MnO3+xYSZ with different YSZ doping level x was investigated at magnetic fields 0-3 T, where YSZ represents yttria-stabilized zirconia. Results show that the YSZ dopant does not only adjust the metal-insulator transition temperature, but also increases the magnetoresistance effect. With increase of YSZ doping level for the range of x<2%, the metal-insulator transition temperature values TP of the composites decrease, but TP increases with increase of x further for the range of x>2%. Meanwhile, in the YSZ-doped composites, a broad metal-insulator transition temperature region was found at zero and low magnetic field, which results in an obvious enhanced magnetoresistance in the temperature range 10-350 K. Specially, a larger magnetoresistance value was observed at room temperature at 3 T, which is encouraging with regard to the potential application of magnetoresistance materials.  相似文献

The effect of Ce-doping on structural, magnetic, electrical and thermal transport properties in hole-doped manganites La0.7−xCexCa0.3MnO3 (0.0≤x≤0.7) is investigated. The structure of the compounds was found to be crystallized into orthorhombically distorted perovskite structure. dc Susceptibility versus temperature curves reveal various magnetic transitions. For x≤0.3, ferromagnetic regions (FM) were identified and the magnetic transition temperature (TC) was found to be decreasing systematically with increasing Ce concentration. The electrical resistivity ρ(T) separates the well-define metal-semiconducting transition (TMS) for low Ce doping concentrations (0.0≤x≤0.3) consistent with magnetic transitions. For the samples with 0.4≤x≤0.7, ρ(T) curves display a semiconducting behavior in both the high temperature paramagnetic (PM) phase and low temperature FM or antiferromagnetic phase. The electron–phonon and electron–electron scattering processes govern the low temperature metallic behavior, whereas small polaron hopping model is found to be operative in PM phases for all samples. These results were broadly corroborated by thermal transport measurements for metallic samples (x≤0.3) in entire temperature range we investigated. The complicated temperature dependence of Seebeck coefficient (S) is an indication of electron–magnon scattering in the low temperature magnetically ordered regime. Specific heat measurements depict a broadened hump in the vicinity of TC, indicating the existence of magnetic ordering and magnetic inhomogeneity in the samples. The observation of a significant difference between ρ(T) and S(T) activation energies and a positive slope in thermal conductivity κ(T) implying that the conduction of charge carriers were dominated by small polaron in PM state of these manganites.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline La1−xBaxMnO3 (0.0≤x≤0.3) manganites have been prepared by a simple and instantaneous solution combustion method, which is a low temperature initiated synthetic route to obtain fine-grained powders with relatively high surface area. The phase purity and crystal structure of the combustion products are carried out by powder X-ray diffraction. The as-made nanopowders are in cubic phase. On calcination to 900 °C, barium doped manganites retain cubic phase, whereas barium free manganite transformed to rhombohedral phase. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) results revealed that the combustion-derived compounds are agglomerated with fine primary particles. The doped manganites have surface area in the range 24-44 m2/g. The surface area of the manganites increases with barium content, whereas it decreases on calcination. Both undoped and doped lanthanum manganites show two active IR vibrational modes at 400 and 600 cm−1. The low temperature resistivity measurements have been carried out by four-probe method down to 77 K. All the samples exhibit metal-insulator behaviour and metal-insulator transition temperature (TM-I) in the range 184-228 K and it is interesting to note that, as the barium content increases the TM-I shifts to lower temperature side. The maximum TM-I of 228 K is observed for La0.9Ba0.1MnO3 sample.  相似文献

Upon annealing polycrystalline La0.67Ba0.33MnO3 bulk samples in flowing 95%Ar:5%H2 mixed gas at 700 °C for different time, the insulator–metal transition temperature, TPTP and the amplitude of AC magnetic susceptibility were decreased first, then increased, finally decreased again. While the resistivity was increased monotonically. This anomalous behavior was explained by the combinational effects of oxygen loss and Ba ion vacancies caused by the segregation of Ba ion related impurity phase.  相似文献

Magnetoresistance (MR) and magnetization (dc and ac) measurements have been carried out on the manganites, (La0.7−2xEux)(Ca0.3Srx)MnO3 (0.05≤x≤0.15), in the temperature range of 5-320 K. At 5 K, an unusually large MR of almost 98% is observed in the x=0.15 sample, nearly up to fields of 4-5 T. This large high-field MR occurs in the metallic region, far below the insulator-metal transition temperature, and does not vary linearly with applied field. The unusual magnetoresistance is explained in the light of various possibilities such as phase segregation, cluster spin-glass behavior, etc.  相似文献

The Hall resistivity and magnetization have been investigated in the ferromagnetic state of the bilayered manganite La2−2xSr1+2xMn2O7 (x=0.36). The Hall resistivity shows an increase in both the ordinary and anomalous Hall coefficients at low temperatures below 50 K, a region in which experimental evidence for the spin glass state has been found in a low magnetic field of 1 mT. The origin of the anomalous behavior of the Hall resistivity relevant to magnetic states may lie in the intrinsic microscopic inhomogeneity in a quasi-two-dimensional electron system.  相似文献

We report electron-spin resonance (ESR) measurements in polycrystalline samples of (Gd1−xYx)2PdSi3. We observe the onset of a broadening of the linewidth and of a decrease of the resonance field at approximately twice the Néel temperature in the paramagnetic state. This characteristic temperature coincides with the electrical resistivity minimum. The high-temperature behavior of the linewidth is governed by a strong bottleneck effect.  相似文献

The effect of Co doping at Mn-site on the structural, magnetic and electrical transport properties in electron-doped manganties La0.9Te0.1Mn1−xCoxO3 (0≤x≤0.25) has been investigated. The room temperature structural transition from rhombohedra to orthorhombic (Pbnm) symmetry is found in these samples with x≥0.20 by the Rietveld refinement of X-ray powder diffraction patterns. All samples undergo the paramagnetic-ferromagnetic (PM-FM) phase transition. The Curie temperature TC of these samples decreases and the transition becomes broader with increasing Co-doping level. The magnetization magnitude of Co-doping samples increases at low temperatures with increasing Co-doping level for x≤0.15 and decreases with increasing Co-doping content further. The metal-insulator (M-I) transitions observed in the sample with x=0 are completely suppressed with Co doping, and the resistivity displays semiconducting behavior within the measured temperature region for these samples with x>0. All results are discussed according to the changes of the structure parameters and magnetic exchange interaction caused by Co-doping. In addition, the different effects between the Co doping and Cu doping in the Mn site for the electron-doped manganites are also discussed.  相似文献
