Visible photoluminescence and its temperature dependence of La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 in the temperature range 138-293 K were measured. It was observed that the main broad band centered at ∼1.77 eV with the shoulders at ∼1.57 and ∼1.90 eV existed in the entire temperature range. It can be well fitted by three Gaussian curves B1, B2 and B3 centered at ∼1.52, ∼1.75 and ∼1.92 eV, respectively. The intensities of the peak B1 and B2 vary as temperature increases. In the entire temperature range, the intensity of B1 increases with increasing temperature, whereas that of B2 decreases. The photoluminescence mechanisms for La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 are presented based on the electronic structures formed by the interactions among spin, charge and lattice, in which B1 was identified with the charge transfer excitation of an electron from the lower Jahn-Teller split eg level of a Mn3+ ion to the eg level of an adjacent Mn4+ ion, B2 is assigned to the transition between the spin up and spin down eg bands separated by Hund's coupling energy EJ and B3 is attributed to the transition, determined by the crystal field energy EC, between a t2g core electron of Mn3+ to the spin up eg bands of Mn4+ by a dipole allowed charge transfer process.  相似文献

Field cooling (FC) poled/unpoled PMN-29%PT single crystal and room temperature (RT) poled/unpoled PMN-34.5%PT textured ceramic were investigated between ∼0 and 300 °C by thermal expansion, dielectric and Raman spectroscopy. New phase transitions are evidenced at 40, 91 and 180 °C in the case of FC PMN-29%PT as well as at 70 and 200 °C for RT PMN-34.5%PT and their order is discussed. The physical properties of the textured ceramics are rather similar to the ones observed for the single crystals that make them low-cost alternative for a wide range of applications. However, the temperatures and character of the phase transitions strongly depend on the kind of the poling conditions. Temperature dependences of the Raman line parameters show that the NbO6 octahedra remain stable during temperature increase, while TiO6 ones evolve quasi-continuously. The step transitions of the Pb2+ ion sublattice are evidenced. This suggests that the TiO6 and Pb2+ sublattices are especially coupled. The role of the TiO6 clusters on the structural phase transitions and dielectric properties of the PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3-xPbTiO3 (PMN-PT) system is discussed. The presence of the Raman modes above the maximum dielectric permittivity reveals that the local symmetry is lower than the cubic one (Pm3m). The decrease of the Raman line intensities vs. temperature indicates precisely the continuous evolution of the local symmetry towards the cubic one. The temperature evolution of the Rayleigh wing parameters appears sensitive to the phase transitions’ presence.  相似文献

The shifts of the magnetic and charge ordering transition temperatures caused by Nd substitution for Y in Nd2/3Ca1/3MnO3 CMR narrow-band perovskite manganite have been studied. At low temperatures, three different long-range magnetic orderings consistent with a phase separation scenario have been observed in the doped compound (Nd0.9Y0.1)2/3Ca1/3MnO3 by neutron-diffraction study: the antiferromagnetic orderings of PCE and DE types existing below ∼110 and ∼60 K, respectively, and the ferromagnetic one of B type existing below ∼42. Magnetic phase transformations temperatures as well as those of charge ordering have been found to be structural-dependent. Y-doping leads to the decrease of the anisotropy of the orthorhombic Pnma crystal lattice b/√2c, which causes a decrease of the indirect exchange parameters in the system and thus a decrease in the magnetic transformation temperatures for 20-30 K in the doped compound. Doping leads as well to the higher level of the coherent Jahn-Teller distortions of the MnO6 octahedra in the 200-300 K temperature region, which results in the increase of the charge ordering temperature for ∼80 K.  相似文献

Modified BiScO3-PbTiO3 (BSPT) tetragonal single crystals were grown using high temperature solution method. The dielectric, piezoelectric and elastic properties of single domain BSPT crystals, after poling along [001] crystallographic direction, have been determined experimentally using the resonance method. The results showed that the BSPT tetragonal crystals possess good piezoelectric properties, with electromechanical coupling factor about 88% and piezoelectric coefficient over 400 pC/N at room temperature. BSPT tetragonal crystals have high Curie temperature around 436 °C and high coercive field ∼28 kV/cm, also, the crystal exhibited a very good temperature stability of the properties till 380 °C. For comparison, the material constants of tetragonal Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PZNT) single crystals were measured and listed in this paper.  相似文献

We report a large enhancement (∼90%) in magnetoresistance in La0.82Sr0.18MnO3 (LSMO) layers by incorporating a π-conjugated semiconducting polymer layer in between them. The epitaxial LSMO layers were deposited by DC magnetron sputtering on SrTiO3 single crystal substrates and have FM transition temperature (TC)∼310 K. A semiconducting polymer poly(3-octylthiophene) (P3OT) layer was deposited over the epitaxial LSMO layer by solution dip coating technique and with subsequent deposition of another epitaxial LSMO layer, forming a LSMO-P3OT-LSMO heterostructure. The effect of P3OT incorporation on magnetotransport properties of this heterostructure has been examined in the temperature range 77-350 K. Large MR enhancement observed near room temperature in the FM regime is explained in terms of efficient magnetic field dependent carrier injection at LSMO/P3OT interface.  相似文献

Cobalt-substituted ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized with a narrow size distribution using reverse micelles formed in the system water/AOT/isooctane. Fe:Co ratios of 3:1, 4:1, and 5:1 were used in the synthesis, obtaining cobalt-substituted ferrites (CoxFe3−xO4) and some indication of γ-Fe3O4 when 4:1 and 5:1 Fe:Co ratios were used. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) verified the presence of cobalt in all samples. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) showed bands at ∼560 and ∼400 cm−1, characteristic of the metal–oxygen bond in ferrites. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the number median diameter of the particles was ∼3 nm with a geometric deviation of ∼0.2. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the inverse spinel structure typical of ferrites with a lattice parameter of a=8.388 Å for Co0.61Fe0.39O4, which is near that of CoFe2O4 (a=8.394 Å). Magnetic properties were determined using a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). Coercivities higher than 8 kOe were observed at 5 K, whereas at 300 K the particles showed superparamagnetic behavior. The anisotropy constant was determined based on the Debye model for a magnetic dipole in an oscillating field and an expression relating χ′ and the temperature of the in-phase susceptibility peak. Anisotropy constant values in the order of ∼106 erg/cm3 were determined using the Debye model, whereas anisotropy constants in the order of ∼107 erg/cm3 were calculated assuming Ωτ=1 at the temperature peak of the in-phase component of the susceptibility curve as commonly done in the literature. Our analysis demonstrates that the assumption Ωτ=1 at the temperature peak of χ′ is rigorously incorrect.  相似文献

Lead-free (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3-based piezoelectric ceramics were successfully fabricated by substituting with a small amount of BiFeO3 (BF). Difficulty in sintering of pure NKN ceramics can be eased by adding a few molar percent of BF, and the crystalline structure is also changed, leading to a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) between ferroelectric orthorhombic and rhombohedral phases. The MPB exists near the 1-2 mol% BF-substituted NKN compositions, exhibiting enhanced ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and electromechanical properties of Pr=23.3 μC/cm2, d33=185 pC/N, and kp=46%, compared to an ordinarily sintered pure NKN ceramics. The MPB composition has a Curie temperature of ∼370 °C, comparable to that of some commercial PZT materials.  相似文献

Praseodymium doped Bi4Ti3O12 (BIT) ceramics with composition Bi2.9Pr0.9Ti3O12 (BPT) were prepared by solid state reaction. These samples have polycrystalline Bi-layered perovskite structure without preferred orientation, and consist of well-developed plate-like grains with random orientation. Pr doping into BIT causes a large shift of the Curie temperature (TC) of the BIT from 675 to 398 °C. At an electric field of 87 kV/cm, the remanent polarization and the coercive field of the BPT ceramics are 30 μC/cm2 and 52 kV/cm, respectively. Furthermore, the dielectric permittivity and the dissipation factor of the BPT ceramics are 300 and 0.003 at 1 MHz, 1 V, and room temperature. Ferroelectric properties of the BPT ceramics are superior to V-doped Bi4Ti3O12 (∼20 μC/cm2 and 80 kV/cm) and (Sr, Ta)-doped Bi4Ti3O12 (∼12 μC/cm2 and 71 kV/cm) ceramics. In addition, the dense ceramics of praseodymium-doped B4Ti3O12 were obtained by sintering at 1100 °C, about 100-200 °C lower than those of the SrBi2Ta2O9 system.  相似文献

Lead-free (K0.5Na0.5)0.90Li0.06Sr0.02Nb(1−x)SbxO3 (KNLSN-Sbx) ceramics were synthesized by ordinary sintering technique. The compositional dependence of phase structure and electrical properties of the ceramics was systematically investigated. All samples possessed pure perovskite structure, showing room temperature symmetries of orthorhombic at x<0.01, coexistence of orthorhombic and tetragonal phases at x=0.01, and tetragonal at 0.02≤x≤0.05. The temperature of the polymorphic phase transition (PPT) was shifted to lower temperature and dielectric relaxor behavior was induced by increasing Sb content. The samples near the coexistence region (x=0.01) exhibited enhanced electrical properties: d33∼145 pC/N, kp∼38% and Pr∼20.4 μC/cm2.  相似文献

The charge density wave (CDW) dynamics of the quasi-one-dimensional conductor K0.30MoO3 shows two different regimes depending on the temperature: a strongly damped CDW motion above ∼50 K and CDW motion with almost no damping below ∼50 K. In a search for a characterization of this CDW behaviour, we performed thermal expansion measurements on K0.30MoO3 single crystals in the temperature range 4-250 K. In addition to the anomaly observed at the Peierls transition at 180 K along the [102] direction, an anomaly is observed at ∼50 K along the [−201] and [102] directions. The results are discussed in relation with the change in the CDW rigidity at ∼50 K.  相似文献

(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 (KNN) based lead free ceramics have been fabricated by a solid state reaction. In this work, LiSbO3 (LS) modified KNN based ceramics were sintered at atmospheric pressure and high density (>96% theoretical) was obtained. The detailed elastic, dielectric, piezoelectric and electromechanical properties were characterized by using the resonance technique combined with the ultrasonic method. The full set of material constants for the obtained polycrystalline ceramics were determined and compared to the pure hot pressed KNN counterpart. KNN-LS polycrystalline ceramic was found to have higher elastic compliance, dielectric permittivity and piezoelectric strain coefficients, but lower mechanical quality factor, when compared to pure KNN, exhibiting a “softening” behavior. However, a high coercive field (∼17 kV/cm) was found for the LS modified KNN material. The properties as a function of temperature were determined in the range of −50-250 °C, showing a polymorphic phase transition near room temperature, giving rise to improved piezoelectric behavior.  相似文献

The effect of doping of rare earth Pr3+ ion as a replacement of Sm3+ in Sm0.5Sr0.5MnO3 is investigated. Temperature dependent dc and ac magnetic susceptibility, resistivity, magnetoresistance measurements on chemically synthesized (Sm0.5−xPrx)Sr0.5MnO3 show various unusual features with doping level x=0.15. The frequency independent ferromagnetic to paramagnetic transition at higher temperature (∼191 K) followed by a frequency dependent reentrant magnetic transition at lower temperature (∼31 K) has been observed. The nature of this frequency dependent reentrant magnetic transition is described by a critical slowing down model of spin glasses. From non-linear ac susceptibility measurements it has been confirmed that the finite size ferromagnetic clusters are formed as a consequence of intrinsic phase separation, and undergo spin glass-like freezing below a certain temperature. There is an unusual observation of a 2nd harmonic peak in the non-linear ac susceptibility around this reentrant magnetic transition at low temperature (∼31 K). Arrott plots at 10 and 30 K confirm the existence of glassy ferromagnetism below this low temperature reentrant transition. Electronic- and magneto-transport measurements show a strong magnetic field—temperature history dependence and strong irreversibility with respect to the sweeping of magnetic field. These results are attributed to the effect of phase separation and kinetic arrest of the electronic phase in this phase separated manganite at low temperatures.  相似文献

We report on the synthesis of TbMnO3 nanoparticles by chemical co-precipitation route and their structural, chemical bonding, magnetic and dielectric properties. It is shown that the interesting multiferroic properties of this system as reflected by the concurrent occurrence of magnetic and dielectric transitions are retained in the nanoparticles (size∼40 nm). However, the nanoparticle constitution and properties are seen to depend significantly on the calcination temperature. While the nanoparticles obtained by calcination at 800 °C correspond very well with the reported properties of single phase TbMnO3 (all the key magnetic and dielectric features near 7, 27 and 41 K, albeit with reduced dielectric constant) the nanoparticles obtained by calcination at 900 °C develop a Tb deficient skin which softens the transitions, reducing the dielectric constant further.  相似文献

We report here the structural, magnetotransport and morphological studies of Sb-doped La2/3Ba1/3Mn1−xSbxO3 perovskite manganites. Pristine material La2/3Ba1/3MnO3 (LBMO) shows two insulator-metal (I-M) transitions in the electrical resistivity-temperature (ρ-T) behavior. While the higher temperature transition (TP1) at ∼340 K is reminiscent of the usual I-M transition in manganites, the lower temperature transition (TP2) at ∼250 K has been ascribed to the grain boundary (GB) effects arising out of the ionic size mismatch between the ions present at the rare-earth site (La3+ and Ba2+). With Sb-doping TP1 shifts to lower temperatures while TP2 remains invariant up to 3% and shifts to lower temperature for 5%. Room temperature electrical resistivity and the peak values also increase successively with Sb-doping. Scanning electron micrographs of the samples exhibit a gradual increase in their grain sizes with Sb indicating a gradual decrease in the GB density. Shift of TP1 with doping is explained on the basis of a competition between double-exchange and super-exchange mechanisms. The overall electrical resistivity increases and the shift in the electrical resistivity hump (TP2) with Sb-doping is found related to be gradually decreasing GB density and the ensuing lattice strain increase at the GBs. The intrinsic magnetoresistance (MR) gets suppressed and extrinsic MR gets enhanced with Sb-doping. At T>TP1, the electrical resistivity is found to follow the adiabatic polaron hopping model whereas the electron-magnon scattering is found to dominate in the metallic regime (T<TP1).  相似文献

The influence of SiO2 on the electrical transport properties of LCMO/SiO2 composites with different SiO2 contents x is investigated, where LCMO represents La2/3Ca1/3MnO3. Results show that the SiO2 phase not only shifts the metal–insulator transition temperature (Tp) to a high temperature range, but also has an effect on the magnetoresistance (MR) of the composites. The temperature dependence of resistivity indicates that the Tp of the composites is obviously higher than that of pure LCMO, and that the peak resistivity ρmax of the composites is lower than that of pure LCMO. In the SiO2 content x∼0.02, the TP is the highest and ρmax becomes the lowest. The experimental observation is discussed on the basis of the analysis of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. Compared with pure LCMO, a possible interpretation is presented by considering the influence of SiO2 on the coupling between ferromagnetic (FM) domains of LCMO.  相似文献

0.65Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3-0.35PbTiO3 (PINT65/35) (starting composition) single crystals were grown successfully through the solution Bridgman technique using PbO flux and PMNT67/33 seed crystals. Because of the composition variation, the final composition of achievable crystals is in a range of 0.32-0.34 with the corresponding Tc range of 265-269 °C. The (001) plates of as-grown PINT66/34 single crystals show high Curie temperature (Tc=269 °C) and rhombohedral-tetragonal phase transition temperature (Trt=134 °C). Besides, good electrical properties with high dielectric constant (ε>3000), low dielectric loss (tan δ∼1.2%), high piezoelectric constant (d33∼2000 pC/N) and large electromechanical coupling factor (kt≈59%) at room temperature have been obtained on the (001) plates. The sound velocity, acoustic impedance and other piezoelectric parameters were also measured on the (001) plates in this study, which provide us more detailed information about PINT66/34 single crystals.  相似文献

The microwave dielectric and magnetic properties of Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3 multiferroic ceramics were investigated. A dielectric dispersion occurring in the frequency range 100 MHz-3 GHz and in a broad temperature range showed itself to be a powerful tool to detect magnetostrictive effects. The experimental results revealed the following remarkable features: the temperature dependence of fR (characteristic frequency) and the dielectric strength Δε (characteristic of the dispersion) enabled us to identify not only the para-ferroelectric (TC≈180 K) but also the para-antiferromagnetic (TN≈340 K) phase transitions, while magnetic measurements revealed the para-antiferromagnetic ordering and a weak superexchange interaction (TN2∼15 K). Additionally, both characterizations confirmed the existence of structural or magnetic instabilities around 250 K.  相似文献

New glasses have been synthesized in a multicomponent system based on indium fluoride. Samples of a few mm in thickness were obtained. They are transparent and homogeneous. Main physical properties such as density, characteristic temperatures, density, thermal expansion and refractive index have been measured. The evolution versus composition is reported for samples with the formula: (35−x) InF3-xGaF3-10YF3-25PbF2-15CaF2-15ZnF2. Tg lies between 260 and 296 °C while melting starts around 480 °C. Glass samples are stable at room temperature. By comparison with other standard fluoride glasses, they exhibit higher refractive index and density.  相似文献

Magnetic properties of SrCo2V 2O8 single crystal are investigated by means of ac magnetic susceptibility, dc magnetization and heat capacity measurements. The results show that SrCo2V 2O8 possesses two canted antiferromagnetic transitions at ∼5 and ∼3 K, which is different from isostructural BaCo2V 2O8 with only one antiferromagnetic transition at ∼5 K. We suggest that such different magnetic properties are mainly due to their different structural symmetry.  相似文献

The effect of Ba(La)TiO3 doping on the structure and magnetotransport properties of La2/3Sr1/3MnO3(LSMO)/xBa(La)TiO3 (x=0.0, 1.0, 5.0 mol%) have been investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns and microstructural analysis show that BaTiO3 and LSMO phases exist independently in BaTiO3-doped composites. The metal-insulator transition temperature (TMI) decreases whereas the maximum resistivity increases very quickly by the increase of BaTiO3 doping level. The partial substitution of Ba by La(0.35 mol%) results in a decrease in resistivity of LSMO/xBa(La)TiO3 composites. Magnetoresistance of BaTiO3-doped composites decreases monotonously in the temperature range 200-400 K in a magnetic field of 5 T, which is completely different from that of LSMO compound. The value of MR decreases at low field (H<1 T) and increases at high fields (H>1 T) with increasing the BaTiO3 doping level at low temperatures below 280 K. These investigations reveal that the magnetotransport properties of LSMO/xBa(La)TiO3 composites are dominated by spin-dependent scattering and tunneling effect at the LSMO/BaTiO3/LSMO magnetic tunnel junction.  相似文献
