The theoretical limit of the minimal magnetization switching field and the optimal field pulse design for uniaxial Stoner particles are investigated. Two results are obtained. One is the existence of a theoretical limit of the smallest magnetic field out of all possible designs. It is shown that the limit is proportional to the damping constant in the weak damping regime and approaches the Stoner-Wohlfarth (SW) limit at large damping. For a realistic damping constant, this limit is more than 10 times smaller than that of so-called precessional magnetization reversal under a noncollinear static field. The other is on the optimal field pulse design: if the magnitude of a magnetic field does not change, but its direction can vary during a reversal process, there is an optimal design that gives the shortest switching time. The switching time depends on the field magnitude, damping constant, and magnetic anisotropy.  相似文献

The curves of pulsed magnetization reversal in iron garnet films with easy-plane anisotropy are studied. Magnetization reversal is initiated by a pulsed magnetic field aligned with the axis of biaxial anisotropy lying in the plane of the film. The curves exhibit kinks at fields close to the effective field of biaxial anisotropy. Magnetization reversal mechanisms in fields above and below the inflection point are discussed.  相似文献

Spatiotemporal magnetization reversal dynamics in a Ni(80)Fe(20) microstructure is studied using ps time scale scanning Kerr microscopy. Time domain images reveal a striking change in the reversal associated with the reduction in switching time when a transverse bias field is applied. Magnetization oscillations subsequent to reversal are observed at two resonance frequencies, which sensitively depend on the bias field strength. The oscillation at f = 2 GHz is caused by the damped precession of M, while the lower frequency approximately 0.8 GHz mode is interpreted in terms of domain wall oscillation.  相似文献

Using the principle of minimal energy and S-W model, the exchange bias for ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic bilayers has been investigated when the uniaxial anisotropy is misaligned with the exchange anisotropy. According to the relation between the energy of the bilayer and the orientation of ferromagnetic magnetization, it is found that the bilayer will be in the monostable state or bistable state when the external field is absent in the initial magnetization state. The monostable state or bistable state of the bilayer, which determines the angular dependence of exchange bias directly, is controlled by the competition between the exchange anisotropy and uniaxial anisotropy. When the applied field is parallel to the intrinsic easy axes and intrinsic hard axes, one of the switching fields of the hysteresis loop shows an abrupt change, while the other keep continuous by analyzing the magnetization reversal processes. Consequently, the exchange bias field and the coercivity will show a jump phenomenon. The numerical calculations indicate that both the magnitude and direction of the exchange anisotropy will significantly affect the angular dependence of exchange bias. The jump phenomenon of exchange bias is an intrinsic property of the bilayer, which is dependent on the interfacial exchange-coupling constant, the orientation of the exchange anisotropy, the thickness and uniaxial anisotropy constant of the ferromagnetic layer.  相似文献

We report on the magnetic behaviour of a novel family of two-magnetic-phase multilayer microwires consisting of: (i) a bistable FeSiB glass-coated amorphous microwire as soft nucleus, and (ii) a polycrystalline CoNi outer microtube as harder layer. Such bi-phase microwires are prepared by combined quenching and drawing plus sputtering and electroplating techniques. The stray field produced by the harder outer layer after premagnetizing it to saturation is used to bias the magnetization reversal process of the soft nucleus via dipolar magnetostatic coupling. A detailed analysis of the asymmetric low-field magnetization reversal process of the soft nucleus is presented together with the study of the fluctuating switching field and its asymmetric behaviour. The study of the domain wall characteristics under the presence of a nucleation coil at one end of the microwire allows us to draw conclusions on the role of the bias field generated by the premagnetized hard outer layer.  相似文献

The switching process of electrodeposited Co-rich Co–Pt thin films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is investigated by out-of-plane angle-dependent hysteresis loop measurements. The switching field angular dependence is discussed in terms of basic reversal mechanisms. A model is proposed, based on a two-step switching process, to evaluate the variations of the intensity and orientation of the internal field as the modulus of external magnetic field is varied at each angle φ. Several experimentally observed salient features are well-understood, indicating that switching is due to inverse domain propagation.  相似文献

Spin transfer-related phenomena in nanomagnets have attracted extensive studies. In this paper we shall focus on analysis of individual and combined effects of the external, anisotropy, and demagnetization fields on magnetization dynamics and spin transfer noise. It is found that individual roles of the external, anisotropy, and demagnetization fields, as well as the combined roles of external plus anisotropy fields and anisotropy plus demagnetization fields, do not change the behavior of current induced magnetization switching. Such magnetization reversal procedures are of low noise. Our dynamics and power spectral density calculations show that it is the demagnetization field that plays a major role in inducing spin transfer noise: the demagnetization field itself or in combination with the anisotropy field will result in wave-like switching; moreover, the demagnetization field, together with the external field (not too small), will lead to precession and hence the system would be in noisy states. Our modeling work for an elliptical Py alloy is qualitatively consistent with Cornell's experiment and simulation [Science 307 (2005) 228].  相似文献

以直径32 μm的熔体抽拉Co基非晶金属纤维为研究对象, 分析了该纤维不同激励条件下的巨磁阻抗(giant magneto impedance, GMI)效应. 实验结果表明: 这类纤维的GMI效应具有不对称性特点, 即 AGMI (asymmetric GMI)效应. 同时, 发现AGMI效应随激励条件不同而变化, 随交流频率或者激励幅值升高而逐渐增强; 当存在一定偏置电压时, AGMI效应大幅增强. 通过研究纤维的磁化过程, 分析了Co基金属纤维的AGMI效应. 由于Co基熔体抽拉纤维具有螺旋各向异性以及磁滞的存在使得GMI效应具有不对称性, 频率升高或者激励电流幅值增加有利于壳层畴环向磁化, AGMI增强. 当在纤维两端施加偏置电压时, 偏置电流诱发环向磁场增强了环向磁化, AGMI效应提高; 偏置电压较低时磁场响应灵敏度提高, 同时磁化翻转向高场移动, 阻抗线性变化对应的直流磁场区间增大. 这一方面拓宽了GMI传感器工作区间及灵敏度, 另一方面不利于获得更大的磁场响应灵敏度. 10 MHz (5 mA)激励时, 施加1 V强度的偏置电压后, 对应的磁场灵敏度从616 V/T 提高至5687 V/T; 偏置电压为2 V时, 灵敏度降低到4525 V/T. 因此, 可以通过适当提高环向磁场的方法获得大的磁场响应灵敏度及阻抗变化线性区域.  相似文献

实验研究了石榴石磁泡薄膜中不同脉冲宽度下产生的硬磁畴的动态特性.结果表明:由零偏场下产生的枝状畴收缩而成的哑铃畴均逆时针转动,与产生枝状畴时所用的脉冲偏场的脉冲宽度无关.而固定直流偏场下由软畴段硬化而成的哑铃畴的转动状态,则与所用的硬化脉冲偏场的脉冲宽度有关.低脉冲宽度下硬化成的哑铃畴均逆时针转动,随硬化脉冲宽度的升高,出现混合转动向顺时针转动的过渡.由此揭示了直流偏场和脉冲偏场在石榴石磁泡薄膜中形成正、负垂直布洛赫线的作用. 关键词: 磁畴 磁泡 垂直布洛赫线  相似文献

We investigate the quantum transport through a mesoscopic device consisting of an open, lateral double-quantum-dot coupled by time oscillating and spin-polarization dependent tunneling which results from a static magnetic field applied in the tunneling junction. In the presence of a non-vanishing bias voltage applied to two attached macroscopic leads both spin and charge currents are driven through the device. We demonstrate that the spin and charge currents are controllable by adjusting the gate voltage, the frequency of driving field and the magnitude of the magnetic field as well. An interesting resonance phenomenon is observed.  相似文献

The angular dependences of the switching field and coercivity for magnetic multilayer films with strain caused by lattice mismatch are studied in detail with the help of the Stoner-Wohlfarth model. The expressions or equations for determining the switching field and the coercivity are obtained analytically, taking the strain effect into consideration. With these analytical expressions, the roles of the strain and the unidirectional anisotropy (exchange coupling) are displayed clearly. Compared to the standard Stoner-Wohlfarth model (without strain), the centers of the curves of the switching field and coercivity are found to shift from π/2 to π/2+θ due to the in-plane strain caused by the lattice mismatch between the film and substrate. For the ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic exchange bias systems, the angularly dependent amplitude of the switching field or coercivity exhibits an obvious asymmetry. The staggering or separation of the peaks of the two branches of the coercivity results in a jump phenomenon in the curves for the exchange bias field and the coercivity near θ.  相似文献

Co/Pt multilayers with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy exhibit an exchange bias when covered with an IrMn layer. The exchange bias field, which is about 7 mT for 3 Co/Pt bilayer repetitions and a Co layer thickness of 5 Å, can be increased up to 16.5 mT by the insertion of a thin Pt layer at the Co/IrMn interface. The interfacial magnetic anisotropy of the Co/IrMn interface (KSCo/IrMn =-0.09 mJ/m2) favours in-plane magnetization and tends to tilt the Co spins away from the film normal. Dynamical measurements of the magnetization reversal process reveal that both thermally activated spin reversal in the IrMn layer and domain wall nucleation in the Co/Pt multilayer influence the interfacial spin structure and therefore the strength of the perpendicular exchange bias field.  相似文献

文章根据朗道-利夫席茨-吉尔伯特(Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert)理论,介绍了斯托纳(Stoner)粒子(单个磁畴的磁性颗粒)磁矩翻转的相关理论.其中指出了有关磁矩翻转的斯托纳-沃尔法特(Wohlfarth)极限(SW极限)只有在阻尼系数无穷大时才是真正准确的.在此极限下,磁矩是沿着能量下降最快的路径翻转.最小的翻转磁场出现在当系统能量曲面中只有一个稳定的不动点的情形.文中还指出了对于一个给定的各向异性的磁体,阻尼系数存在一个临界值,超过它时,最小翻转磁场与SW极限是相同的.低于此临界值,最小翻转磁场可以小于SW极限.对于在有阻尼情况下的弹道式磁矩翻转,文中指出,施加的磁场方向应该处在一特定的方向内.这个方向窗口的宽度与阻尼系数和磁内能有关.对于一给定的磁内能,窗口的上下边界随着阻尼系数的增加而增加,窗口的宽度则随着阻尼系数的增加而呈振荡的变化.在没有阻尼和阻尼无穷大的极限下,窗口宽度变为零。  相似文献

We have studied the magnetization and AC susceptibility of a dilute colloidal dispersion of εε-Co nanodiscs. The temperature dependence of the magnetization implies that the nanodisc moments become largely static below a blocking temperature which exceeds room temperature. The related anisotropy energy is significantly larger than the magnetocrystalline anisotropy for bulk εε-Co, which may result either from surface modifications to the crystalline anisotropy, or perhaps from shape anisotropy. The saturation moment is found to be temperature independent, over a wide range of temperatures and also close to the blocking temperature, although the field at which saturation occurs varies considerably with temperature. A coercive field of 1700 Oe is found at low temperature, indicating that magnetization reversal involves the coordinated rotation of the moments in individual nanodiscs. Aging effects are observed in the AC susceptibility, implying that the spatial coherence of the room temperature dispersions increases over time, leading to static short-range order.  相似文献

The magnetization reversal in exchange-biased ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic (FM-AFM) bilayers is investigated. Different reversal pathways on each branch of the hysteresis loop, i.e., asymmetry, are obtained both experimentally and theoretically when the magnetic field is applied at certain angles from the anisotropy direction. The range of angles and the magnitude of this asymmetry are determined by the ratio between the FM anisotropy and the interfacial FM-AFM exchange anisotropy. The occurrence of asymmetry is linked with the appearance of irreversibility, i.e., finite coercivity, as well as with the maximum of exchange bias, increasing for larger anisotropy ratios. Our results indicate that asymmetric hysteresis loops are intrinsic to exchange-biased systems and the competition between anisotropies determines the asymmetric behavior of the magnetization reversal.  相似文献

Effect of sample shape on the nonlinear collective dynamics of magnetic moments in the presence of oscillating and constant external magnetic fields is studied using the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert (LLG) approach. The uniformly magnetized sample is considered to be an ellipsoidal axially symmetric particle described by demagnetization factors and uniaxial crystallographic anisotropy formed some angle with an applied field direction. It is investigated as to how the change in particle shape affects its nonlinear magnetization dynamics. To produce a regular study, all results are presented in the form of bifurcation diagrams for all sufficient dynamics regimes of the considered system. In this paper, we show that the sample's (particle's) shape and its orientation with respect to the external field (system configuration) determine the character of magnetization dynamics: deterministic behavior and appearance of chaotic states. A simple change in the system's configuration or in the shapes of its parts can transfer it from chaotic to periodic or even static regime and back. Moreover, the effect of magnetization precession stall and magnetic moments alignment parallel or antiparallel to the external oscillating field is revealed and the way of control of such “polarized” states is found. Our results suggest that varying the particle's shape and fields’ geometry may provide a useful way of magnetization dynamics control in complex magnetic systems.  相似文献

从超短高斯脉冲光束出发。根据拉盖尔多项式的性质,用理论解析推导的方法。给出了一组新的超短脉冲光束的解析解,称为超短复宗量拉盖尔-高斯脉冲光束。此脉冲光束解的每个频率分量都是复宗量拉盖尔-高斯光束。时间脉冲的形状是任意的,具有相同的衍射距离参量,并且可以描述短于一个光学周期的超短脉冲。对这种超短脉冲光束及其在自由空间中的传输过程进行了较为细致的研究,分析了超短复宗量拉盖尔一高斯脉冲光束的轴上光强、光强的横向分布、衍射性质、脉冲极性反转、脉冲延迟等。讨论了引入缓变包络近似后出现的时空奇异性。  相似文献

The size dependence of exchange bias field HE and coercivity Hc was studied by measuring exchange biased Fe-FeF2 dot arrays in comparison with an unstructured exchange biased Fe-FeF2 bilayer. The domain sizes in the ferromagnet (FM) and the antiferromagnet (AFM) play an important role for exchange bias (EB), and thus interesting phenomena may be expected when the size of an EB system becomes comparable to these sizes. We observe drastic changes of HE and Hc in nanostructured Fe-FeF2, which are unexpected because they appear even at a structure size which is too large for matching with AFM or FM domain size to play a role. We propose that under certain conditions the hysteresis loop is affected differently in the two branches of the reversal by shape anisotropy due to patterning. This is possible because the EB induces a reversal asymmetry already in the unpatterned bilayer system.  相似文献

This paper describes the first investigations of the process of pulsed 180° magnetization reversal in iron borate in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. How the intensity of magnetoelastic oscillations depends on the amplitude of the magnetization reversal field and the duration of the primary period of the transient process is studied, and also the analysis of hodographs of the magnetization vector, which show that the primary reason why the pulsed magnetization reversal curve exhibits a kink is a decrease in the energy lost to excitation of magnetoelastic oscillations, caused by lagging of the elastic subsystem of the crystal behind the magnetic subsystem for magnetization reversal times less than 13–16 ns.
