The scattering amplitudes on the deuteron at small momentum transfers are described, taking into account the shadow corrections. In the framework of Regge pole theory, the inelastic shadow corrections are expressed in terms of the amplitudes of inelastic processes. A rigorous extraction of the deuteron charge form factors from tensor polarization data in elastic electron-deuteron scattering,
at given values of the 4-momentum transfer, is presented. Then the world data for elastic electron-deuteron scattering is
used to parameterize, in three different ways, the three electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron in the 4-momentum transfer
range 0-7 fm−1. This procedure is made possible with the advent of recent polarization measurements. The parameterizations allow a phenomenological
characterization of the deuteron electromagnetic structure. They can be used to remove ambiguities in the form factors extraction
from future polarization data.

Explicit expressions for the Debye-Waller factor for the elastic and one-phonon channels are presented to lowest order in the phonon displacement, using a hard wall model to represent the atom-surface interaction. The periodicity of the crystal is accounted for; thus we explicitly generalize to all elastic channels the reflectance result found by Garcia et al. within the plane-surface model, and we include the contribution of the umklapp processes to the inelastic channels. We show how for high incident energy of the atom all Debye-Waller factors reduce to the standard result. 相似文献

We calculate the electric-dipole and magnetic-quadrupole form factors of the deuteron that arise as a low-energy manifestation of parity and time-reversal violation in quark-gluon interactions. We consider the QCD vacuum angle and the dimension-six operators that originate from physics beyond the standard model: the quark electric and chromoelectric dipole moments and the gluon chromoelectric dipole moment. Within the framework of two-flavor chiral perturbation theory, we show that in combination with the nucleon electric dipole moment, the deuteron moments would allow an identification of the dominant source(s) of symmetry violation. 相似文献

The general form of cross section for one-photon-exchange processes is given. For unpolarized target and projectile the total cross section is determined by two characteristic functions or form factors, for each, target and projectile. For a projectile without strong, but with electromagnetic interaction one can measure the differential cross section and thereby determine both form factors for any target in the region of kinematical variables available by such scattering experiments. These kinematical regions are investigated. One can insert these measured form factors in cross section calculations for other one-photon-exchange processes. As an example we show that for 2 GeV-W-Meson production by neutrinos on a target the kinematical region of form factors which enter the cross section calculation is covered by electron scattering up to 6 GeV. The impulse approximation is used to estimate form factors for electronnucleus scattering in a special kinematical region. 相似文献

We discuss the applicability of pQCD to the elastic scattering of electrons on protons and deuterons. We analyze the Q2-dependence of the reduced deuteron form factor, taking into account the recent data on the electric proton form factor and
we find that the value of the QCD-scale parameter Λ differs essentially from the value Λ = 0.1 GeV, previously found using
the dipole parametrization of the electromagnetic nucleon form factors GE and GM. Moreover, the predicted scaling behavior of the reduced deuteron form factor cannot be recovered in the Dirac and Pauli
representations for the nucleon electromagnetic form factors.

Angular distributions are measured for 12 MeV deuterons scattered to the 2+ and 4+ states in 152Sm and 162Dy. By including the couplings of the ground state to the low-lying excited states, it is shown that the experimental results can be explained by using optical model parameters form a spherical nucleus. Deformation amplitudes are deduced and compared to those found from inelastic α-particle scattering and from Coulomb excitation. 相似文献

Alpha-particle scattering cross sections have been measured at 15, 18 and 19 MeV from the ground state and first excited state of 52Cr, 56Fe, 60Ni and 64Zn. Excitation functions have also been measured for inelastic α-scattering from 52Cr and 60Ni. The data extends into the forwardangle Coulomb-nuclear interference region. The results are analysed with the optical model and DWBA, using the deformed potential model. The relative and absolute magnitudes of the nuclear and Coulomb deformation parameters and the shapes of the form factors have been deduced from the data. The importance of data in the Coulomb-nuclear interference region in determining these quantities is demonstrated. 相似文献

A nonrelativistic calculation of the elastic electron deuteron scattering has been performed in which the effects arising from nucleon polarization have been systematically investigated. These effects have been taken into account by admixing isobar configurations into the deuteron wave function. Explicit expressions for the various contributions to the respective deuteron form factors have been given. At higher momentum transfers inclusion of the isobar configurations leads to a substantial increase in the form factors which qualitatively appears to account for at least some of the discrepancies between theory and experiment. 相似文献

On the basis of the dispersive alpha-cluster model for target nuclei and the theory of multiple diffractive scattering, differential cross sections and analyzing powers for the elastic scattering of 400 and 700-MeV deuterons on 12C and 16O target nuclei were calculated in the pointlike-deuteron approximation. In these calculations, the amplitude for incident-deuteron scattering on nuclei was constructed with the aid of amplitudes for dα scattering that were obtained from a fit to data on d 16O scattering. The same features were calculated on the basis of the diffraction approximation with allowance for the internal deuteron structure by using the amplitudes obtained earlier for nucleon scattering on 12C and 16O nuclei within the same dispersive alpha-clustermodel. The latter made it possible to perform calculations without employing adjustable parameters. The observables calculated on the basis of either approach agree with available experimental data. 相似文献

The various forms of tensor potentials present in deuteron elastic and inelastic scattering on a deformed target nucleus are derived using a folding model for the deuteron-nucleus interaction.
