The molecular structure and conformational properties of para-methylbenzene sulfonamide (4-MBSA) and ortho-methylbenzene sulfonamide (2-MBSA) have been studied by gas electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical methods (B3LYP/6-311+G** and MP2/6-31G**). Quantum chemical calculations predict the existence of two conformers for 4-MBSA with the S-N bond perpendicular to the benzene plane and the NH2 group either eclipsing or staggering the S-O bonds of the SO2 group. Both conformers possess CS symmetry. The eclipsed form is predicted to be favored by DeltaE = 0.63 kcal/mol (B3LYP) or 1.00 kcal/mol (MP2). According to the calculations, the S-N bond in 2-MBSA can possess planar direction opposite the methyl group (phi(C2C1SN) = 180 degrees ) or nonplanar direction (phi(C2C1SN) approximately 60 degrees ). In both cases, the NH2 group can adopt eclipsed or staggered orientation, resulting in a total of four stable conformers. The nonplanar eclipsed conformer (C1 symmetry) and the planar eclipsed form (CS symmetry) are predicted to be favored. According to the GED analysis, the saturated vapor over solid 4-MBSA at T = 151(3) degrees C consists as mixture of the eclipsed (78(19) %) and staggered (22(19) %) forms. The saturated vapor over solid 2-MBSA at T = 157(3) degrees C consists as a mixture of the nonplanar eclipsed (69(11) %) and planar eclipsed (31(11) %) forms.  相似文献

The tautomeric and conformational properties of malonamic acid methyl ester, NH2C(O)-CH2-C(O)OCH3, have been investigated by means of gas-phase electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical calculations (HF, B3LYP, and MP2 approximations with different basis sets up to 6-311++G(3df,pd)). Both quantum chemistry and GED at 360(8) K result in the existence of a single diketo conformer in the gas phase. According to GED refinement, this conformer possesses an (ac, sc) conformation with dihedral angles C-C-C(NH2)=O of 140.3(3.0) degrees and C-C-C(OCH3)=O of 31.1(7.2) degrees. The experimental geometric parameters are reproduced very closely by MP2 and B3LYP methods with large basis sets.  相似文献

The tautomeric properties of acetoacetamide, CH3C(O)CH2C(O)NH2, have been investigated by gas electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical calculations (B3LYP and MP2 approximations with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311++G(3df,pd) basis sets). GED results in a mixture of 63(7)% enol tautomer and 37(7)% diketo form at 74(5) degrees C. Only one enol form with the O-H bond adjacent to the methyl group (CH3C(OH)=CHC(O)NH2) and only one diketo conformer (with dihedral angles tau(O=C(CH3)-C-C) = 31.7(7.5) degrees and tau(O=C(NH2)-C(H2)-C(O)) = 130.9(4.5) degrees ) are present. The calculated tautomeric composition varies in a wide range depending on the quantum chemical method and basis set. Only the B3LYP method with small basis sets reproduces the experimental composition correctly.  相似文献

The geometric structure of malonamide, NH2C(O)-CH2-C(O)NH2, has been investigated by gas electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical calculations (B3LYP and MP2 approximations with 6-311++G(3df,pd) basis sets). Both GED and quantum chemistry result in the existence of a single diketo conformer in the gas phase. According to GED refinement this conformer possesses (sc,ac) conformation with one C=O bond in synclinal orientation (dihedral angle tau(O=C-C-C)=49.0(3.0) degrees) and the other C=O bond in anticlinal orientation (dihedral angle tau(O=C-C-C)=139.5(3.3) degrees). The experimental geometric parameters are reproduced very closely by the B3LYP method.  相似文献

The structure and conformational stability of vinylsulfonamide CH2CHSO2NH2 were investigated by DFT-B3LYP/6-311+G** and ab initio MP2/6-311+G** calculations. From the calculations the molecule was predicted to exist predominantly in the gauche-syn (vinyl group nearly eclipses one of the SO bonds and the NH2 and the SO2 moieties eclipse each other) conformation with the possibility of low abundance of the cis-syn and the gauche-anti forms. The asymmetric potential function for the internal rotation about CS bond was determined for the molecule. The vibrational frequencies were computed at DFT-B3LYP level for the gauche-syn conformer of the molecule and its d2(C2H3SO2ND2) and d3(C2D3SO2NH2) deuterated species. Normal coordinate calculations were then carried out and the potential energy distributions were calculated for the molecule.  相似文献

The conformational properties and geometric structures of fluoroformic acid anhydride, FC(O)OC(O)F, have been studied by vibrational spectroscopy, gas electron diffraction (GED), single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and quantum chemical calculations (HF, MP2, and B3LYP methods with 6-31G* and B3LYP/6-311+G* basis sets). Satellite bands in the IR matrix spectra, which increase in intensity when the matrix gas mixture is heated prior to deposition as a matrix, indicate the presence of two conformers at room temperature. According to the electron diffraction analysis, the prevailing conformer is of C(2) symmetry with both C=O bonds synperiplanar with respect to the opposite C-O bond ([sp, sp] conformer). The minor conformer [15(5)% from IR matrix and 6(11)% from GED] is predicted by quantum chemical calculations to possess an [sp, ac] structure. FC(O)OC(O)F crystallizes in the orthorhombic system in the space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with a = 6.527(1) angstroms, b = 7.027(1) angstroms, and c = 16.191(1) angstroms and four formula units per unit cell. In the crystal, only the [sp, sp] conformer is present, and the structural parameters are very similar to those determined by GED.  相似文献

Pure fluorocarbonyl trifluoromethanesulfonate, FC(O)OSO(2)CF(3), is prepared in about 70% yield by the ambient-temperature reaction between FC(O)SCl and AgCF(3)SO(3). The geometric structure and conformational properties of the gaseous molecule have been studied by gas electron diffraction (GED), vibrational spectroscopy [IR(gas), IR(matrix), and Raman(liquid)] and quantum chemical calculations (HF, MP2, and B3LYP with 6-311G basis sets); in addition, the solid-state structure has been determined by X-ray crystallography. FC(O)OSO(2)CF(3) exists in the gas phase as a mixture of trans [FC(O) group trans with respect to the CF(3) group] and gauche conformers with the trans form prevailing [67(8)% from GED and 59(5)% from IR(matrix) measurements]. In both conformers the C=O bond of the FC(O) group is oriented synperiplanar with respect to the S-O single bond. The experimental free energy difference between the two forms, DeltaG degrees = 0.49(13) kcal mol(-1) (GED) and 0.22(12) kcal mol(-1) (IR), is slightly smaller than the calculated value (0.74-0.94 kcal mol(-1)). The crystalline solid at 150 K [monoclinic, P2(1)/c, a = 10.983(1) A, b = 6.4613(6) A, c = 8.8508(8) A, beta = 104.786(2) degrees ] consists exclusively of the trans conformer.  相似文献

The molecular structure and conformational properties of N-pentafluorosulfur(sulfuroxide difluoride imide), SF5N=S(O)F2, have been studied by vibrational spectroscopy (IR (gas) and Raman (liquid)), by gas electron diffraction (GED), and by quantum chemical calculations (MP2 and B3LYP with (6-31G(d) and 6-311+G(2df) basis sets). According to GED, the prevailing conformer possesses a syn structure (N-SF5 bond synperiplanar with respect to the bisector of the SF2 group). Splitting of the symmetric N=S=O stretching vibration in gas and liquid spectra demonstrates the presence of a second conformer (11(5)%) with anticlinal orientation of the N-SF5 bond according to quantum chemical calculations. The geometric structure, conformational properties, and vibrational frequencies are well reproduced by quantum chemical calculations.  相似文献

The natural neurotransmitter (R)-norepinephrine takes the monocationic form in 93% abundance at the physiological tissue pH of 7.4. Ab initio and DFT/B3LYP calculations were performed for 12 protonated conformers of (R)-norepinephrine in the gas phase with geometry optimizations up to the MP2/6-311++G level, and with single-point calculations up to the QCISD(T) level at the HF/6-31G-optimized geometries. Four monohydrates were studied at the MP2/6-31G//HF/6-31G level. In the gas phase, the G1 conformer is the most stable with phenyl.NH(3)(+) gauche and HO(alc).NH(3)(+) gauche arrangements. A strained intramolecular hydrogen bond was found for conformers (G1 and T) with close NH(3)(+) and OH groups. Upon rotation of the NH(3)(+) group as a whole unit about the C(beta)-C(alpha) axis, a 3-fold potential was calculated with free energies for barriers of 3-12 kcal/mol at the HF/6-31G level. Only small deviations were found in MP2/6-311++G single-point calculations. A 2-fold potential was calculated for the phenyl rotation with free energies of 11-13 kcal/mol for the barriers at T = 310 K and p = 1 atm. A molecular mechanics docking study of (R)-norepinephrine in a model binding pocket of the beta-adrenergic receptor shows that the ligand takes a conformation close to the T(3) arrangement. The effect of aqueous solvation was considered by the free energy perturbation method implemented in Monte Carlo simulations. There are 4-5 strongly bound water molecules in hydrogen bonds to the conformers. Although hydration stabilizes mostly the G2 form with gauche phenyl.NH(3)(+) arrangement and a water-exposed NH(3)(+) group, the conformer population becomes T > G1 > G2, in agreement with the PMR spectroscopy measurements by Solmajer et al. (Z. Naturforsch. 1983, 38c, 758). Solvent effects reduce the free energies for barriers to 3-6 and 9-12 kcal/mol for rotations about the C(beta)-C(alpha) and the C(1)(ring)-C(beta) axes, respectively.  相似文献

The radical cationic reactivity of the peptide analogue molecule CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2) is addressed both experimentally and theoretically. The radical cation intermediate of CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2) is created by single-photon ionization of this molecule at 118.22 nm (~10.5 eV). The two most stable conformers (C(7) and C(5)) of this molecule exhibit different folds along the backbone: the C(7) conformer has a γ-turn structure, and the C(5) conformer has a β-strand structure. The experimental results show that the radical cation intermediate of CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2) dissociates and generates a fragment-ion signal at 73 amu that is observed through TOFMS. Theoretical results show how the fragment-ion signal at 73 amu is generated by only one conformer of CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2) (C(7)) and how local charge and specific hydrogen bonding in the molecule influence fragmentation of the radical cation intermediate of CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2). The specific fold of the molecule controls fragmentation of this reactive radical cation intermediate. Whereas the radical cation of the C(7) conformer dissociates through a hydrogen-transfer mechanism followed by HNCO elimination, the radical cation of the C(5) conformer does not dissociate at all. CASSCF calculations show that positive charge in the radical cationic C(7) conformer is localized at the NH(2)CO moiety of the molecular ion. This site-specific localization of the positive charge enhances the acidity of the terminal NH(2) group, facilitating hydrogen transfer from the NH(2) to the COCH(3) end of the molecular ion. Positive charge in the C(5) conformer of the CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2) radical cation is, however, localized at the COCH(3) end of the molecular ion, and this conformer does not have enough energy to surmount the energy barrier to dissociation on the ion potential energy surface. CASSCF results show that conformation-specific localization of charge in the CH(3)CO-Gly-NH(2) molecular ion occurs as a result of the different hydrogen-bonding interactions involved in the different molecular conformers.  相似文献

The structure of 2,5-dihydropyrrole (C4NH7) has been determined by gas-phase electron diffraction (GED), augmented by the results from ab initio calculations employing third-order M?ller-Plesset (MP3) level of theory and the 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. Several theoretical calculations were performed. From theoretical calculations using MP3/6-311+G(d,p) evidence was obtained for the presence of an axial (63%) (N-H bond axial to the CNC plane) and an equatorial conformer (37%) (N-H bond equatorial to the CNC plane). The five-membered ring was found to be puckered with the CNC plane inclined at 21.8 (38) degrees to the plane of the four carbon atoms.  相似文献

(C2F5)2PCl is now accessible through a significantly improved synthesis protocol starting from the technical product (C2F5)3PF2. (C2F5)3PF2 was reduced in the first step with NaBH4 in a solvent‐free reaction at 120 °C. The product, P(C2F5)3, was treated with an excess of an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution to afford the corresponding phosphinite salt Na+(C2F5)2PO? selectively under liberation of pentafluoroethane. Subsequent chlorination with PhPCl4 resulted in the selective formation of (C2F5)2PCl, which was isolated by fractional condensation in an overall yield of 66 %. The gas electron diffraction (GED) pattern for (C2F5)2PCl was recorded and found to be described by a two‐conformer model. A quantum chemical investigation of the potential‐energy surface revealed the possible existence of many low‐energy conformers, each with a number of low‐frequency vibrational modes and therefore large‐amplitude motions. The conformer calculated to be most stable was also found to be most abundant by GED and comprised 61(5) % of the total. The molecular structure parameters determined by GED were in good agreement with those calculated at the MP2/TZVPP level of theory; the only significant difference was a discrepancy of about 3° in the C‐P‐C angle, which, for the lowest‐energy conformer, was refined to 98.2(4)° and was calculated to be 94.9°.  相似文献

The molecular structures of Se(SCH(3))(2) and Te(SCH(3))(2) were investigated using gas-phase electron diffraction (GED) and ab initio and DFT geometry optimisations. While parameters involving H atoms were refined using flexible restraints according to the SARACEN method, parameters that depended only on heavy atoms could be refined without restraints. The GED-determined geometric parameters (r(h1)) are: rSe-S 219.1(1), rS-C 183.2(1), rC-H 109.6(4) pm; angleS-Se-S 102.9(3), angleSe-S-C 100.6(2), angleS-C-H (mean) 107.4(5), phiS-Se-S-C 87.9(20), phiSe-S-C-H 178.8(19) degrees for Se(SCH(3))(2), and rTe-S 238.1(2), rS-C 184.1(3), rC-H 110.0(6) pm; angleS-Te-S 98.9(6), angleTe-S-C 99.7(4), angleS-C-H (mean) 109.2(9), phiS-Te-S-C 73.0(48), phiTe-S-C-H 180.1(19) degrees for Te(SCH(3))(2). Ab initio and DFT calculations were performed at the HF, MP2 and B3LYP levels, employing either full-electron basis sets [3-21G(d) or 6-31G(d)] or an effective core potential with a valence basis set [LanL2DZ(d)]. The best fit to the GED structures was achieved at the MP2 level. Differences between GED and MP2 results for rS-C and angleS-Te-S were explained by the thermal population of excited vibrational states under the experimental conditions. All theoretical models agreed that each compound exists as two stable conformers, one in which the methyl groups are on the same side (g(+)g(-) conformer) and one in which they are on different sides (g(+)g(+) conformer) of the S-Y-S plane (Y = Se, Te). The conformational composition under the experimental conditions could not be resolved from the GED data. Despite GED R-factors and ab initio and DFT energies favouring the g(+)g(+) conformer, it is likely that both conformers are present, for Se(SCH(3))(2) as well as for Te(SCH(3))(2).  相似文献

Microwave spectra were obtained for two distinct structural isomers of 1,1'-dimethylferrocene, an eclipsed synperiplanar isomer (phi = 0 degrees, the E0 isomer), with A = 1176.9003(2) MHz, B = 898.3343(2) MHz, C = 668.7469(2) MHz, and an eclipsed synclinal isomer (phi = 72 degrees, the E72 isomer) with A = 1208.7117(14) MHz, B = 806.4101(12) MHz, and C = 718.7179(8) MHz. The b-dipole, asymmetric-top spectra of both structural isomers were measured in the frequency range of 5-12 GHz using a Flygare-Balle type of spectrometer. A very good fit to observed transitions, with small distortion constants, was obtained for the E0 conformer, indicating that this conformer is nearly rigid. The deviations obtained in a similar least-squares fit for the E72 confomer are significantly larger, indicating possible fluxional behavior for this conformer. In addition, 7 out of the 26 transitions observed for the E72 isomer conformer clearly exhibit very small splittings, giving further evidence for internal motion. DFT calculations for the different possible conformations of 1,1'- dimethylferrocene arising from rotation of one methyl cyclopentadienyl ligand relative to the other about the nominal C5 axis by an angle phi (dihedral angle) were performed using the B3PW91 functional. The calculations converged and were optimized for five structures on this torsional potential energy surface corresponding to different dihedral angles phi; three yielded energy minima, and two gave energy maxima, corresponding to transition states. The experimental results are in very good agreement with the results of the DFT calculations.  相似文献

The geometric structure of dimethyl malonate, CH3OC(O)-CH2-C(O)OCH3, was studied by gas electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical methods. We conclude that only diketo conformers exist in the gas phase. According to the GED refinement, a mixture of two diketo conformers is present: 69(10)% (ac,ac) conformer with C2 symmetry (both CO bonds anticlinal relative to the opposite C-C bond) and 31(10)% (sp,ac) conformer with C1 symmetry (one CO bond with synperiplanar, the other CO bond with anticlinal orientation). Ab initio calculations, however, predict a preference of the (sp,ac) conformer rather than the (ac,ac) form.  相似文献

Trifluorothioacetic acid-S-(trifluoromethyl)ester, CF3C(O)SCF3, was prepared by reacting CF3C(O)Cl and AgSCF3 at 50 degrees C. The compound was characterized by (13)C-, (19)F-NMR, UV, and vibrational spectroscopy as well as by gas electron diffraction (GED) and quantum chemical calculations (HF, MP2, and B3LYP methods 6-31G(d) and 6-311+G(2df) basis sets). GED and vibrational spectroscopy result in the presence of a single conformer with C1 symmetry and synperiplanar orientation of the S-CF3 bond relative to the CO bond. This result is in agreement with quantum chemical calculations which predict the anti conformer to be higher in energy by about 4 kcal/mol. An assignment of the IR (gas) and Raman (liquid) spectra is proposed, and the GED analysis results in the following skeletal geometric parameters (r(a) and angle(a) values with 3sigma uncertainties; these parameters are thermal averages and are not inconsistent with calculated equilibrium values): C=O = 1.202(6) A, C-C = 1.525(10) A, S-C(sp(2)) = 1.774(3) A, S-C(sp(3)) = 1.824 (3) A. O=C-C = 118.7(21) degrees, O=C-S = 127.1(15) degrees, C-S-C = 99.8 (13) degrees.  相似文献

Copper-, manganese-, and zinc-based ionic liquids (Cu{NH(2)CH(2)CH(2)OH}(6)[CH(3)(CH(2))(3)CH(C(2)H(5))CO(2)](2) (2), Cu{NH(CH(2)CH(2)OH)(2)}(6)[CH(3)(CH(2))(3)CH(C(2)H(5))CO(2)](2) (3A), Cu{NH(CH(2)CH(2)OH)(2)}(6)[CF(3)SO(3)](2) (3B), Cu{NH(CH(2)CH(2)OH)(2)}(6)[(CF(3)SO(2))(2)N](2) (3C), Mn{NH(CH(2)CH(2)OH)(2)}(6)[CF(3)SO(3)](2) (4), and Zn{NH(2)CH(2)CH(2)OH}(6)[CF(3)SO(3)](2) (5)) are synthesized in a single-step reaction. Infrared data suggest that ethanolamine preferentially coordinates to the metal center through the amine group in 2 and the hydroxyl group in 5. In addition, diethanolamine coordinates through the amine group in 3A, 3C, and 4 and the hydroxyl group in 3B. The compounds are viscous (>1000 cP) at room temperature, but two (3C and 4) display specific conductivities that are reasonably high for ionic liquids (>20 mS cm(-1)). All of the compounds display a glass transition (T(g)) below -50 °C. The cyclic voltammograms (CVs) of 2, 3A, 3B, and 3C display a single quasi-reversible wave associated with Cu(II)/Cu(I) reduction and re-oxidation while 5 shows a wave attributed to Zn(II)/Zn(0) reduction and stripping (re-oxidation). Compound 4 is the first in this new family of transition metal-based ionic liquids (MetILs) to display reversible Mn(II)/Mn(III) oxidation and re-reduction at 50 mV s(-1) using a glassy carbon working electrode.  相似文献

Although butane exists in staggered anti and gauche conformations, when the ethyl groups are separated by a C[triple bond]C triple bond (3-hexyne), the stable conformation changes to eclipsed, (1)C(2v). Using rotational microwave spectroscopy, we have studied another example, 3-heptyne, the C[triple bond]C elongated analogue of pentane. The most stable conformer of pentane has anti-anti (AA) conformations about the central C-C bonds (C(2v)) and the next most stable has a gauche dihedral angle (GA, C1). This microwave study determines that the extended analogue of the AA form is not staggered about the C[triple bond]C axis but eclipsed (Cs). Also, the elongated analogue of the GA conformer is also not staggered but nearly eclipsed. The conformations of low-polarity substituted acetylenes is determined by dispersion attractions between the end groups. A microwave study of the AA and GA conformers of pentane is also reported.  相似文献

The geometric structure and conformational properties of trifluoromethyl chlorosulfonate (chlorosulfuric acid trifluoromethyl ester), CF(3)OSO(2)Cl, have been determined by X-ray crystallography, gas electron diffraction (GED), and vibrational spectroscopy (IR(gas), IR(matrix), and Raman(liquid)). These experimental investigations were supplemented by quantum chemical calculations (B3LYP with 6-311G* and 6-311+G(3df) basis sets). All experimental methods result in a single conformer with gauche orientation of the CF(3) group relative to the S[bond]Cl. The dihedral angle delta(COSCl) is determined to be 91.7(3) degrees in the crystal and 94(3) degrees in the gas phase. This dihedral angle corresponds to a near-eclipsed orientation of the O[bond]C relative to one of the S[double bond]O bonds (delta(CO[bond]SO) = -23.0(3) degrees and -21(3) degrees in the crystal and gas phase, respectively).  相似文献
