The aim of this work is to lower the sintered temperature of M-type barium ferrite (BaM) by BaCu(B2O5) (BCB) additives. The effects of BCB additives on the sintering behavior, structure and magnetic properties of BaM were also discussed. It was found that the sintered density, saturation magnetization and initial permeability of BaM are modified obviously as small amount of BCB (1-4 wt%) is added. Especially, when BaM with 3 wt% BCB was sintered at 900 °C, the single-phase BaM was obtained and showed excellent properties with sintered density of 4.88 g/cm3, saturation magnetization of 61.4 emu/g and initial permeability of 3.15. In addition, the SEM result revealed that the sample can be co-fired well with the Ag electrode at 900 °C. The reason for this was attributed to be the formation of the BCB liquid phase. It suggests that this M-type barium ferrite can be used as LTCC substrate for millimeter wave circulator, filter and other magnetic microwave devices.  相似文献

Glasses/glass-ceramics with nominal composition 34 SiO2-(45 − x)CaO-16P2O5-4.5MgO-0.5CaF2 − xFe2O3 (where x = 10, 15, 20 wt%) have been prepared by melt quenching technique. These are characterized for structural and micro structural properties by using XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Interaction of glass-ceramics samples with bovine serum albumin (BSA) has been studied using SEM and TOF-SIMS. The formation of magnetite, apatite and wollastonite phases are observed. Typical sizes of crystallites as seen from SEM measurement are 30-50 nm. The progressive addition of iron oxide to glass leads to increase in number of non-bridging oxygen, which in turn affects the response of glass-ceramics when immersed in BSA. The samples with 15 and 20 wt% Fe2O3 have shown nearly full surface coverage with BSA, while the sample with 10 wt% Fe2O3 shows poor adhesion.  相似文献

Ni0.25Cu0.2Zn0.55SmxFe2−xO4 ferrite with x=0.00, 0.025, 0.05 and 0.075 compositions were synthesized through the nitrate-citrate auto-combustion method. These powders were calcined, compacted and sintered at 900 °C for 4 h. Effect of Sm substitution on phase composition, microstructure and relative density were studied. Permeability, magnetic loss and AC resistivity were measured in the frequency range of 1 kHz-10 MHz. Permeability and AC resistivity were found to increase and loss decreased with Sm substitution up to x=0.05. Saturation magnetization also increased up to that substitution limit. Observed variations in electromagnetic properties have been explained.  相似文献

In this study, effect of lanthanum substitution on the phase composition, lattice parameters and magnetic properties of barium hexaferrite has been studied in samples synthesized in ammonium nitrate melt. Samples, prepared with different lanthanum amount and having various initial Fe/(Ba+La) ratios in between 12 and 2 {(Ba1−xLaxn Fe2O3, where 0≤x≤1 and 1≤n≤6)}, are sintered at temperatures from 800 to 1200 °C. The lattice parameters, both a and c, decreases with increasing La amount which results in a decrease of the unit cell volume. The scanning electron microscope micrographs show that the pure and La-substituted sample with x=0.3, both calcinated at 1000 °C, have grain sizes smaller than 1 μm. The coercivities of the La-substituted samples increase with increasing La amount and reaches to a maximum value of 5.73 kOe, when x=0.3. Sintering at higher temperatures (above 1000 °C) decreases the coercivity, resembling a transition from single to multi-domain behavior of the particles, while saturation magnetization of the samples continues to increase due to the increasing grain size. Magnetization measurements of the samples prepared with different Fe/(Ba+La) molar ratios, n's, revealed that the specific saturation magnetization slightly increases with decreasing n, while coercivities fluctuates around 5.5 kOe. However, a sharp increase in the saturation magnetization has been observed in the sample having n=1 and washed in HCl. It was measured as 59.2 emu/g at 15 kOe, which is higher than that of the pure sample (57.5 emu/g). Thus, the magnetic parameters are optimized in the sample Ba0.7La0.3Fe12O19 so as to maximize both coercivity and specific saturation magnetization in the HCl-washed sample synthesized by starting with an unusually low Fe/(Ba+La) molar ratio of 2 (or n=1).  相似文献

We have studied sub-stoichiometric Ni-Cu-Zn ferrites with iron deficiency (i.e., <50mol% Fe2O3) of composition Ni0.20Cu0.20Zn0.60+zFe2−zO4−(z/2) with 0≤z≤0.06. The temperature of maximum shrinkage rate is shifted from T=1000 °C for z=0 towards lower temperatures down to T=900 °C for a sub-stoichiometric ferrite with z=0.02. Dense samples are obtained after firing at 900 °C for z>0 only. Sub-stoichiometric compositions (z>0) do not form single-phase spinel ferrites after sintering at 900 °C, but rather represent mixtures of CuO and a stoichiometric ferrite with slightly modified composition. The formation of small amounts of CuO at grain boundaries is demonstrated by XRD and SEM. The permeability is increased from μ=80 for stoichiometric ferrites (z=0) to μ=660 for z=0.02. The formation of CuO during sintering of sub-stoichiometric ferrites supports densification and is a prerequisite for low temperature firing of multilayer inductors. Addition of 1 wt% Bi2O3 as liquid phase sintering aid is required to provide sufficient densification of the stoichiometric ferrite (z=0) at 900 °C. Addition of 0.37 wt% Bi2O3 to a sub-stoichiometric ferrite (z=0.02) results in dense samples after firing at 900 °C; however, the microstructure formation is dominated by heterogeneous grain growth.  相似文献

In this paper, the structural, thermal and magnetic properties of Ni1−xMnxFe2O4 are presented. It is observed that high concentration of Mn2+ ions into NiFe2O4 tends to reduce the particle size. Calcination at 500 °C has resulted in the growth of Ni1−xMnxFe2O4 nanoparticles, but the calcination at 900 °C has led to the evaporation of the majorities of the polyvinyl alcohol. After calcination at 900 °C, crystallographically oriented NiMnFe2O4 nanoparticles are formed. These Ni1−xMnxFe2O4 nanoparticles show hysteresis behaviour upon magnetization. On the other hand, saturation magnetization (Ms) values decreases with increasing Mn content in ferrite due to the influence of Mn2+ ion in the sub lattice.  相似文献

The co-precipitation and solid state methods were used in the synthesis of barium hexaferrite (BaM). Phase pure BaM was obtained with 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 wt% cobalt oxide (Co3O4). The addition of Co2+/3+ ions to the BaM increased the permeability and magnetic loss tangent to a value of 3.5 at 5% and reduced to 1 at 30% doping. With increased Co doping, Ms was reduced from 87-58 emu/g, Mr increased from 11 to 40 emu/g with 3–5 wt% Co and 9 emu/g for 30% doping. Hc sharply increased from 540 to 2200 Oe with a reduction to 280 Oe at 10 K with increasing temperature to 300 K. Tc increased from 740 to 750 K for 30% Co doping. DTA–TGA studies of green body showed decarboxilation to occur at around 825 °C and the transformation of residual Co3O4 to Co2O3 at around 577 °C. The XRD data confirmed the Co ions substituting into Fe sites until a 10–15% doping level where the structure altered to W-type hexaferrite. The densities of the compounds varied with doping to a maximum of 4.45 g/cm3.  相似文献

Zn1−xNixFe2O4 ferrite nanoparticles were prepared by sol–gel auto-combustion and then annealed at 700 °C for 4 h. The results of differential thermal analysis indicate that the thermal decomposition temperature is about 210 °C and Ni–Zn ferrite nanoparticles could be synthesized in the self-propagating combustion process. The microstructure and magnetic properties were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and Vibrating sample magnetometer. It is observed that all the spherical nanoparticles with an average grain size of about 35 nm are of pure spinel cubic structure. The crystal lattice constant declines gradually with increasing x from 0.8435 nm (x=0.20) to 0.8352 nm (x=1.00). Different from the composition of Zn0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 for the bulk, the maximum Ms is found in the composition of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 for nanoparticles. The Hc of samples is much larger than the bulk ferrites and increases with the enlarging x. The results of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 annealed at different temperatures indicate that the maximum Ms (83.2 emu/g) appears in the sample annealed at 900 °C. The Hc of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 firstly increases slightly as the grain size increases, and presents a maximum value of 115 Oe when the grains grow up to about 30 nm, and then declines rapidly with the grains further growing. The critical diameter (under the critical diameter, the grain is of single domain) of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 nanoparticles is found to be about 30 nm.  相似文献

A series of polycrystalline ferrites having nominal chemical composition Co0.50−xMnxZn0.5Fe2O4 (0<x<0.4) have been synthesized by the solid-state reaction technique. The XRD analysis confirms single phase cubic spinel structure for all compositions. Lattice constant increases from 0.84195 to 0.84429 nm with the increasing Mn content and obeys Vegard's law. The average grain size increases by increasing both Mn content and sintering temperatures. Room temperature saturation magnetization increases for x=0.1 and decreases for increasing Mn content. The coercivity decreases with increasing Mn content due to the decrease of anisotropy constant. A reentrant spin glass behavior of these samples is observed from the zero field cooled magnetization measurements. The real part of the initial permeability increases by increasing both Mn content and sintering temperatures. This is due to the homogeneous grain growth and densification of the ferrites. The highest initial permeability 137 is observed for x=0.4 sintered at 1573 K on the other hand, the highest relative quality factor (2522) is obtained for the sample Co0.2Mn0.3Zn0.5Fe2O4 sintered at 1523 K. The Mn substituted Co0.50−xMnxZn0.5Fe2O4 ferrites showed improved magnetic properties.  相似文献

Core-shell Co(1−x)NixFe2O4/polyaniline nanoparticles, where the core was Co(1−x)NixFe2O4 and the shell was polyaniline, were prepared by the combination of sol-gel process and in-situ polymerization methods. Nanoparticles were investigated by Fourier transform spectrometer, X-ray diffraction diffractometer, Scanning electron microscope, Differential thermal analysis and Superconductor quantum interference device. The results showed that the saturation magnetization of pure Co(1−x)NixFe2O4 nanoparticles were 57.57 emu/g, but Co(1−x)NixFe2O4/polyaniline composites were 37.36 emu/g. It was attributed to the lower content (15 wt%), smaller size and their uneven distribution of Co(1−x)NixFe2O4 nanoparticles in the final microsphere composites. Both Co(1−x)NixFe2O4 and PANI/Co(1−x)NixFe2O4 showed superparamagnetism.  相似文献

The effect of post sintering annealing on the dielectric response of (Pb1−xBax)(Yb0.5Ta0.5)O3 ceramics in the diffuse phase transition range (x=0.2) has been investigated. The samples are prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. The samples are sintered at 1300 °C for 2 h and annealed at different temperatures (800, 900 and 1000 °C) for 8 h and at 800 °C for different time durations (8, 12 and 24 h). A significant change in the dielectric response has been observed in all the samples. The dielectric constant increases remarkably and the dielectric loss tangent decreases. The dielectric peaks of the annealed samples are observed to be more diffused with noticeable frequency dispersion compared to the as sintered sample.  相似文献

Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 (0≦x≦1.0) powders with small and uniformly sized particles were successfully synthesized by microwave-induced combustion, using lithium nitrate, ferric nitrate, manganese nitrate and carbohydrazide as the starting materials. The process takes only a few minutes to obtain as-received Mn-substituted lithium ferrite powders. The resultant powders annealed at 650 °C for 2 h and were investigated by thermogravimeter/differential thermal analyzer (TG/DTA), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and thermomagnetic analysis (TMA). The results revealed that the Mn content were strongly influenced the magnetic properties and Curie temperature of Mn-substituted lithium ferrite powder. As for sintered Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 specimens, substituting an appropriate amount of Mn for Fe in the Li0.5Fe2.5−xMnxO4 specimens markedly improved the complex permeability and loss tangent.  相似文献

Nb-doped Z-type hexaferrites (Ba3(Co0.4Zn0.6)2Fe24O41) with composition of Ba3(Co0.4Zn0.6)2Fe24O41+x Nb2O5 (where x=0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.2, 1.6 and 2.0 wt%) were prepared by a solid-state reaction method. The effects of different sintering temperature (Ts) and Nb2O5 content on the sintering behaviors, phase composing, microstructure, and magnetic properties of the samples were investigated. The results from X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy show that as the amount of Nb2O5 additive increases, the major phase changes to Z-phase, Simultaneously, M-phase and a small amount of niobate phase appear. The Nb2O5 additive promotes the grain growth as reaction center at lower sintering temperature (1220 °C), but at higher temperature (1260 °C), niobate phase separated out in grain boundaries as secondary phase will restrain abnormal grain growth, so closed pores in grains are not formed. The Nb2O5 additive can enhance densification, improve initial permeability of hexaferrites by increasing the grain growth of hexaferrite and the displacement of ions in the sintering process due to the aberration and activation of crystal lattice, which is accompanied by the solubility of Nb5+ in the hexaferrites. A relative density of 96%, maximum initial permeability (32–33), minimum coercivity (454–455 A/m) and resonance frequency above 400 MHz were obtained for the sample with 0.8 wt% Nb2O5 sintered at 1260 °C for 6 h.  相似文献

Structural, AC and DC magnetic properties of polycrystalline Zn1−xCoxFe2O4 (x=0.2, 0.4) samples sintered at various temperatures (1100-1300 °C), and various dwell times (0.2-15 h) have been investigated thoroughly. The bulk density of the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 samples increases as the sintering temperature (Ts) increases from 1100 to 1250 °C, and above 1250 °C the bulk density decreases slightly. The Zn0.80Co0.20Fe2O4 samples show similar behavior of changes to that of Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 samples except that the bulk density is found to be highest at 1200 °C. The DC magnetization as a function of temperature curves show that the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 sample is ferrimagnetic at room temperature while the Zn0.80Co0.20Fe2O4 sample is paramagnetic at room temperature. The Tc of Zn0.80Co0.20Fe2O4 sample is found to be 170 K from DC magnetization measurement. Separate measurement (AC magnetization), initial permeability as a function of temperature shows that the Tc of the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 sample is 353 K. Slight variation of Tc is observed depending on sintering condition. The initial permeability for the Zn0.60Co0.40Fe2O4 composition sintered at 1250 °C is found to be maximum.  相似文献

Low-temperature-fired NiCuZn ferrites with the formula Ni0.45Cu0.2Zn0.35Fe2−xO4−3/2x with x values ranging from 0.00 to 0.25 in steps of 0.05 and sintered at 900 °C have been investigated in the present work. It was found that the content of Fe-deficiency could obviously influence the microstructure, sintering behavior, saturation magnetization, permeability and permittivity spectra properties of the ferrites. The variations were much different from those of the high-temperature-fired NiZn ferrites. And the corresponding mechanisms involved were discussed in detail. All-around consideration, the NiCuZn ferrite with 0.10 Fe-deficiency in composition had the best performances on sintering behavior and electromagnetic properties.  相似文献

Preparation of LaNi1 − xFexO3, which is one of the candidate materials of solid oxide fuel cell cathode, current collecting layer and interconnect coating was examined with Pechini method and solid state reaction method. Single phase LaNi1 − xFexO3 with large Ni content has successfully been prepared by low temperature sintering as 750 °C with Pechini method, whereas large amount of raw materials has remained with solid state reaction method by sintering at the same temperature. It can be ascribed to more homogenous cation distribution in raw powder material prior to sintering with Pechini method. It has also been revealed that LaNi1 − xFexO3 with x lower than 0.3 is thermodynamically unstable in air above 1000 °C. LaNi0.6Fe0.4O3 showed superior property as cathode material with high electrical conductivity, thermodynamic stability and appropriate sintering property.  相似文献

Ba(Ti1−xFex)O3 ceramics (x=7, 30 and 70 at%) were prepared by solid-state reaction. All samples are single-phase with 6H-BaTiO3-type hexagonal perovskite structure. Mössbauer spectra show all Fe atoms to be present as Fe3+ in BaTiO3 lattice, occupying M1 octahedral and pentahedral sites. Room-temperature ferromagnetism is exhibited and saturation magnetization gradually decreases with increasing Fe content. The observed ferromagnetism is considered to be an intrinsic property of Ba(Ti1−xFex)O3, originating from super-exchange interactions between Fe3+ in different occupational sites associated with oxygen vacancies. The variation in magnetization with Fe content is related to the ratio of pentahedral to octahedral sites and oxygen vacancies.  相似文献

The affect of sulphur on the structural properties of iron sodium diborate glasses having the composition {(100−x)Na2B4O7+xFe2O3}+yS, where x=0.05, 0.15 and 0.25 mol% and Y=0, 2.5 and 5 wt% was studied by infrared, Mossbauer spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. It was found that, for samples having 5 mol% Fe2O3 and free from sulphur, the iron ions are present in both Fe2+ and Fe3+ states and also 92% of the total iron enters the glass network as a glass former. The ratio of Fe3+/Fe2+ increases with increasing the iron content for sulphur-free samples and others containing sulphur. This ratio also decreases with increasing the sulphur content. The magnetic susceptibility was found to decrease with increasing the sulphur content. Also, the increase of Fe2O3 content led to a less symmetrical environment of Fe3+ ions and vice versa for the Fe2+ environment.  相似文献

A series of bulk polycrystalline Ag-added Fe3O4 with a nominal composition, (Fe3O4)1−xAgx (x is molar fraction) with x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 have been prepared by conventional solid-state reaction. X-ray diffraction patterns show that the pure Fe3O4 sample (x=0) has a single-phase inverse spinel structure, while the Ag-added samples are two-phase composites consisting of a ferrimagnetic Fe3O4 phase and a non-magnetic metal Ag phase. The bright-field transmission electron microscopy images exhibit that the samples are typical granular solids with a porosity of about 22%. The addition of Ag slightly increases the average grain size of the Fe3O4 phase and significantly enhances the MR effect of bulk polycrystalline Fe3O4 samples. Of all the samples the x=0.3 sample has a maximal MR of −5.1% at 300 K in a magnetic field of 1 T, and −6.8% in 5 T, which are approximately three times greater than the corresponding MR values (−1.8% at 1 T and −2.4% at 5 T) of the Fe3O4 sample. This enhancement of the MR can be attributed to the combination effect from the spin-dependent scattering at the interfaces between the Fe3O4 grains and the Ag granules and the spin-polarized tunneling at grain boundaries of Fe3O4 phase of the spin-polarized electrons.  相似文献

Y-type polycrystalline hexagonal ferrites Ba2Co2−xyZnxCuyFe12O22 with 0≤x≤2 and 0≤y≤0.8 were prepared by the mixed-oxide route. Single phase Y-type ferrite powders were obtained after calcinations at 1000 °C. Samples sintered at 1200 °C show a permeability that increases with the substitution of Zn for Co and display maximum permeability of μ′=35 at 1 MHz for x=1.6 and y=0.4. A resonance frequency fr=500 MHz is observed for Zn-rich ferrites with y=0 and 0.4. The saturation magnetization increases with substitution of Zn for Co. Addition of Bi2O3 shifts the temperature of maximum shrinkage down to T≤950 °C. Moreover, an increase of the Cu-concentration further lowers the sintering temperature to T≤900 °C, enabling co-firing of the ferrites with Ag metallization for multilayer technologies. However, low-temperature firing reduces the permeability to μ′=10 and the resonance frequency is shifted to 1 GHz. Thus substituted hexagonal Y-type ferrites can be used as soft magnetic materials for multilayer inductors for high frequency applications.  相似文献
